CENTCOM Completes Strikes on IRGC Targets in Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully completed a wave of strikes against Iranian military targets Sept. 1, 2026.

U.S. forces struck Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets including air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites.

The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members.

More than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently operating across the Middle East and remain vigilant, lethal, and prepared to continue executing operations directed by the Commander in Chief.

Iran Will Honor Islamabad MoU If US Returns to It: Pezeshkian

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran is ready to honor the Islamabad memorandum of understanding if the US returns to the agreement, President Masoud Pezeshkian said, stressing that Iran has sought nothing beyond its legitimate rights.

Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek on Tuesday.

Reaffirming Iran’s determination to stand firmly against the US and the Zionist regime, Pezeshkian said, “If the other side wants to continue, we remain committed to the same memorandum of understanding that we signed. If the US returns to that same memorandum of understanding, we will abide by it as well.”

“We have requested nothing but our country’s rights in that memorandum, and that is what we are pursuing. Basically, the US cannot impose unlawful demands on our country,” Pezeshkian added.

Turning to Iran’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS, Pezeshkian said Tehran’s participation in the two groupings is aimed at confronting unilateralism.

The Iranian president also welcomed the Russian president’s view that a multilateral system should be established and said Iran supports efforts by countries seeking to move away from unilateralism.

“We hope that this effort will make us, you, and the countries that are seeking to move away from unilateralism victorious,” Pezeshkian said, adding, “I am certain that we will prevail. This is our belief, and God willing, we are standing firm.”

Pezeshkian also condemned the US attacks against Iran, saying major powers have no right to commit aggression simply because they possess greater power and without regard for international laws and frameworks.

He described the US aggression against Iran as having “no legal, scientific or logical basis,” and referred to the assassination of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian commanders, scientists and innocent students, as well as attacks on Iranian civilians.

“There is no mental, rational or international framework under which this behavior can be justified,” he said.

Pezeshkian further criticized Washington’s claims regarding human rights and adherence to the rule of law, saying the actions of the US cannot be justified under any credible legal framework.

Iran’s Red Crescent Urges ICC to Investigate US Attack on Kuhestak Wedding

TEHRAN (Tasnim) –

Iran’s Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate a US missile attack on a wedding ceremony in Kuhestak, Hormozgan Province, which killed four people and wounded at least 67 others.

In a letter to the ICC’s Office of the Prosecutor, the IRCS said the attack, reportedly carried out by US forces against a civilian gathering, raised serious concerns under international humanitarian law and warranted an independent investigation.

“Given the reported civilian character of the location as the venue of a family wedding ceremony, as well as the presence of civilians at the site, the incident raises serious concerns under international humanitarian law and warrants an independent, impartial, thorough, and effective investigation,” the IRCS said.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent, the attack occurred at approximately 21:30 local time and targeted a wedding ceremony in Kuhestak, Sirik County, Hormozgan Province.

The organization said preliminary information indicated that at least four people had been killed and approximately 67 others injured, warning that the death toll could rise because some of the wounded were in critical condition.

The IRCS said the US attack could entail individual criminal responsibility under international criminal law if the relevant elements established under the Rome Statute were met.

“Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of civilian life or injury to civilians that would be clearly excessive in relation to the concrete and direct overall military advantage anticipated may, subject to the conditions and elements prescribed by the Rome Statute, give rise to individual criminal responsibility under international criminal law,” the statement said.

The organization stressed that international humanitarian law requires parties to armed conflict to distinguish between civilians and combatants and between civilian objects and military objectives.

It also noted that civilians and civilian populations must not be the object of attack and that indiscriminate attacks are prohibited.

Furthermore, the IRCS said parties to a conflict are required to take all feasible precautions in planning and carrying out military operations to verify the nature of targets and minimize civilian casualties.

The Iranian Red Crescent said that if an independent investigation established that the wedding venue and those present were civilian in character, or that no lawful military objective existed at the site, the US attack could constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and, where the relevant legal elements were established, a war crime.

The organization called on the ICC’s Office of the Prosecutor to receive and assess the information concerning the attack, preserve and evaluate relevant evidence, and take appropriate measures within its legal mandate if the jurisdictional requirements under the Rome Statute were met.

In a statement, the IRGC Public Relations office said the attack came in response to a US strike on a residential home in Sirik, which killed four people, including a child, and injured nearly 70 others, in a "grave crime and a violation of human rights".

According to the statement, the US military strike targeted a wedding celebration involving a young Muslim Sunni couple, turning the event into a funeral after the residential building was bombed and destroyed.

The IRGC said its missile-and-drone operation against the Kuwait base was carried out simultaneously with attacks targeting US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Erbil. It then revealed that the strike on Ali Al Salem Air Base resulted in the deaths of several US personnel.
