While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Qatar: No talks amid Israeli attack, we reserve the right to respond

Tuesday 9-September-2025

DOHA, (PIC)

Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Shaikh Mu'hammed Bin Abdul Ra'hman Al-Thani, stated on Tuesday evening that no negotiations are currently underway regarding a deal related to the war on Gaza, following an Israeli attack on Qatari territory. This comes despite active negotiations previously taking place at the request of the United States.

Speaking at a press conference, the Qatari Foreign Minister said Qatar had been subjected to a treacherous Israeli attack, stressing that Qatar will not tolerate any violation of its sovereignty and reserves the right to respond to this blatant aggression.

He revealed that the United States informed Qatar of the Israeli strike ten minutes after it occurred and confirmed that Israel used weapons undetectable by radar systems during the assault.

Shaikh Mu'hammed described the incident as state terrorism and a deliberate attempt to destabilize regional security and stability. He said the attack not only violated international law but also crossed all moral and ethical lines.

He further stated, “Today’s attack sends a message to the region that a rogue player is operating with political recklessness. Netanyahu is driving the region toward irreparable damage.”

The Qatari Prime Minister labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a rogue actor practicing state terrorism, saying the attack on Qatar could only be described as an act of betrayal.

Majid Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that a formal message was delivered to the UN Security Council and that relevant Qatari authorities have begun deliberating on the appropriate response.

In a statement to Al Jazeera, Al-Ansari added, “Israel’s behavior is dragging the entire world to the edge of catastrophe. Netanyahu is leading Israel into rogue state status.”

He emphasized that the treacherous attack targeted Hamas’s negotiating delegation in a mediator country, proving once again that Israel is acting as a rogue state in clear violation of diplomatic norms and international law.

'Hamas confirms failed assassination attempt on its leaders in Qatar, mourns those killed

Tuesday 9-September-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement confirmed on Tuesday evening that the Israeli occupation apartheid regime has failed in its attempt to assassinate members of the Movement’s leadership who were part of the negotiating delegation in Qatar. The attack, however, resulted in the martyrdom of several individuals accompanying the leaders.

In an official statement, 'Hamas condemned the attempted assassination as a heinous crime, a blatant act of aggression, and a clear violation of all international laws and norms.

'Hamas further stated that the attempted strike on its negotiating delegation in Doa'ha (Doha), the Qatari capital, constitutes an attack on the sovereignty of Qatar, which, alongside Egypt, plays a critical and responsible role in mediating efforts to end the aggression and reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. The incident, 'Hamas added, once again exposes the criminal nature of the Israeli occupation and its intent to undermine all efforts toward a diplomatic resolution.

The Movement announced the martyrdom of several individuals who were accompanying the 'Hamas leaders at the time of the attack. They include Jihad Lubbad (Abu Bilal), director of Dr. Khaleel El-'Hayya’s office, Hammam El-'Hayya (Abu Ya'hya), son of Dr. Khaleel El-Hayya, and the escorts 'Abdullah 'Abdul Wa'hid (Abu Khaleel), Momin 'Hassouna (Abu 'Omar), A'hmed El-Mamlouk (Abu Malik).

'Hamas also mourned the martyrdom of Corporal Badr Sa'd Mu'hammed El-'Humaidi, a member of Qatar’s internal security forces, who was killed in the attack.

'Hamas asserted that targeting the negotiating delegation, especially at a time when they were discussing the latest ceasefire proposal by US President Donald Trump, proves beyond doubt that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government are not interested in reaching any agreement.

“The occupation is deliberately sabotaging all efforts and international initiatives, showing no regard for the lives of its own captives held by the resistance, nor for the sovereignty of other states or regional stability,” the statement read.

'Hamas held the United States equally responsible for the crime, citing its unwavering support for Israeli aggression and ongoing violations against the Palestinian people.

“This crime,” the statement continued, “proves that the Israeli occupation is a grave threat to the region and the world. Netanyahu is working to erase our national cause and our people’s rights, pushing them toward forced displacement and continuing his criminal agenda of genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, and displacement.”

'Hamas urged the international community, the United Nations, and all free nations and human rights advocates to condemn this criminal aggression against the sovereign State of Qatar and to take urgent steps to pressure the Israeli occupation to end its genocidal war, uphold international law, and support the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to freedom and self-determination.

The Movement stressed that this cowardly assassination attempt will not deter Hamas from its demands and principles, which include an immediate cessation of aggression against the Palestinian people, full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, a genuine prisoner exchange agreement, and urgent humanitarian relief and reconstruction.

'Hamas reaffirmed that these terrorist crimes will not break its will or that of its leadership, nor will they divert it from its path of resistance, the pursuit of Palestinian national rights, and the struggle to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

On Tuesday, Israel launched a large-scale aerial attack targeting the Hamas delegation in Qatar. The operation involved multiple warplanes and targeted several civilian buildings and apartments in the capital, Doha.

According to Israeli media, nearly ten warplanes carried out the raid, striking buildings and offices believed to be linked to Hamas in an effort to assassinate key leaders who were engaged in consultations over the latest US ceasefire proposal.

The Israeli military confirmed the operation in a statement, claiming that it had launched a “targeted airstrike against Hamas’s senior leadership in Qatar,” alleging that those targeted were longtime commanders directly involved in the planning of the 7 October events and the ongoing war.

Al-Hindi: Hamas leadership in Qatar survives assassination attempt

Tuesday 9-September-2025

DOHA, (PIC)

Suhail El-Hindi, member of the 'Hamas political bureau, confirmed that the Movement’s leadership in Doha survived a cowardly assassination attempt carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, who targeted residences of Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital on Tuesday.

Al-Hindi revealed that the strike occurred during a meeting of the negotiation team discussing the US ceasefire proposal, emphasizing that the leadership narrowly escaped the attack.

He pointed to the martyrdom of Humam El-'Hayya, son of Khaleel El-'Hayya, and his office director, Jihad Lubbad.

He stressed that “the Israeli bombardment targeted every free person in this world,” calling on “the free world to speak out.”

Al-Hindi held the US administration responsible for the attack, while also affirming that Hamas had responded positively to the American proposal.

He concluded, “We will not raise the white flag, we will not lay down our arms, and we will resist the occupier with full force.”

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior said that “the sounds heard in Doha were due to the targeting of a residential site belonging to Hamas.”

The ministry added that “specialized teams are carrying out their duties. The situation is secure, and we urge everyone to rely on official sources for information.”

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned “Israel’s cowardly attack targeting residential sites of several Hamas political bureau members in Doha.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli airstrike on Doha drew worldwide condemnation, most of which expressed solidarity with Qatar and denounced the Israeli attack as a violation of the international law.

Drone attack targets Gaza Sumud flotilla boat off Tunisian coast

Tuesday 9-September-2025

TUNIS, (PIC)

A boat belonging to the Global Sumud (Steadfastness) Flotilla was attacked by a drone off the coast of Tunisia early Tuesday, sparking a fire but causing no injuries, according to flotilla organizers.

Thiago Ávila, a member of the flotilla’s steering committee, said the vessel “Family” was struck by an incendiary drone near Tunisian waters. Several members of the flotilla team were on board but escaped unharmed, he told Al Jazeera.

The flotilla’s media committee released video footage it said captured the moment the “Family” was targeted. Flotilla spokesperson Saif Abu Kishk confirmed the incident but insisted the mission to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza would continue.

“What happened to the ship in Tunisia is under security investigation now, and our preparations are ongoing, we will not change our destination”, the ‘Global Sumud Flotilla’ heading to Gaza said.

The boat had been scheduled to depart later Tuesday from the port of Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia, as part of the international initiative to challenge Israel’s 18-year blockade of the besieged Palestinian territory. Tunisian authorities quickly contained the fire, confirming there were no casualties.

UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, wrote on X that “the most likely scenario is that the boat was attacked by a drone,” and warned that two other flotilla vessels en route to Tunisia now require urgent protection.

Reuters, citing flotilla officials, reported that the targeted vessel was carrying members of the flotilla’s steering committee. Sources within the initiative accused Israel of orchestrating the attack in an effort to derail the mission.

The Global Sumud Flotilla is part of a long-running international campaign to break the blockade imposed on Gaza, where Palestinians continue to endure what human rights groups describe as genocide carried out by Israeli occupation forces.

The Israeli occupation forces order mass evacuation of Gaza City as the Ministry of Health pleads for hospitals’ protection

Tuesday 9-September-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) on Tuesday issued an unprecedented evacuation order for all residents of Gaza City, marking a dramatic escalation in what Palestinians describe as a campaign of genocide.

The announcement, made by IOFs spokesperson and operations coordinator Avichay Adraee, directed residents from the city’s eastern neighborhoods, including the Old City and Al-Tuffa'h, to the western coastline, ordering them to relocate south to Al-Mawasi in Khan Younus. Israeli aircraft simultaneously dropped leaflets carrying the same message over western Gaza, where nearly one million displaced Palestinians have refused to leave despite dire living conditions.

The IOFs also circulated a phone number for residents to report alleged efforts by 'Hamas to prevent evacuations, a tactic Palestinians see as psychological warfare aimed at forcing mass displacement.

The evacuation order follows days of intensified IOFs strikes on Gaza’s neighborhoods, including repeated bombardments of residential towers under the pretext that Hamas uses them for military purposes.

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasted that 50 towers had been destroyed in just two days, warning residents that this was only “the beginning” of a major ground maneuver. “Take this opportunity, listen carefully: you have been warned, get out now,” Netanyahu declared.

Israel has branded its latest operation “Gideon’s Chariots 2,” with the stated aim of occupying Gaza City in full and displacing its population.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s genocidal war has killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians, wounded more than 130,000, and destroyed much of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and universities. A deliberate starvation campaign has also claimed the lives of hundreds.

In parallel with the evacuation order, the Palestinian health ministry issued an urgent appeal to the international community, the United Nations, and humanitarian organizations to provide immediate protection for Gaza’s hospitals and medical staff. The ministry warned of an imminent catastrophe threatening thousands of patients and the wounded if safe access routes to hospitals are not secured.

Despite the threats and displacement orders, hundreds of thousands of Gaza residents and displaced families said they would remain in their city, rejecting what they call Israel’s plan to erase Gaza and drive its people into permanent exile.

'Hamas condemns Netanyahu for boasting over Gaza destruction, warns against targeting education system

Tuesday 9-September-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for boasting about the destruction of residential towers in Gaza, calling it one of the most brutal forms of sadism and criminality.

In a recorded speech on Monday, Netanyahu bragged that the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) had demolished 50 residential buildings in Gaza City within two days, vowing more demolitions and mass displacement. “This is just a prelude to the main operation,” he declared.

'Hamas said Netanyahu’s address to Gaza residents, telling them “We warned you, leave now”, amounts to a public admission of carrying out forced displacement under the weight of bombings, massacres, starvation, and death threats, and stressed that this is a flagrant violation of international law.

The Movement added that the silence of international institutions, including the UN Security Council, reflects a blatant double standard driven by US complicity, warning that this undermines the global system of values and principles, urging states and free people worldwide to escalate measures against the “fascist occupation entity” and pressure it to stop its crimes.

The destruction of Gaza’s residential towers, including Mushtaha, Sousi, Al-Roya, and Al-Salam, has worsened the housing and displacement crisis. IOF war minister Yisrael Katz previously declared that high-rise buildings would be prime targets, exposing a systematic policy of mass forced displacement.

Alongside these demolitions, Hamas denounced Israel’s ongoing campaign against the Palestinian education sector. In a statement marking the start of the new school year, the Movement said Israel’s deliberate destruction of schools, universities, and educational infrastructure is a “desperate attempt that will fail to erase our national identity.”

The Movement condemned Israeli efforts to impose “Israelization” on curricula in occupied Jerusalem and target Palestinian educational institutions there, calling it a crime aimed at erasing Palestinian heritage and identity. Hamas stressed that no matter how brutal Israel’s crimes become, it cannot succeed in enforcing ignorance or erasing Palestinian awareness.

According to Palestinian officials, during 23 months of genocide, the IOF deliberately targeted more than 90% of Gaza’s schools and universities, completely wiping out 25 schools with their students and teachers.

Over 785,000 students have been deprived of education, more than 19,000 students killed, and nearly 29,000 injured. Over 1,000 teachers and administrators were also killed, nearly 5,000 wounded, and more than 230 academics lost their lives.

'Hamas praised the resilience and sacrifices of teachers, students, and educational institutions, especially in Gaza, for continuing education despite the destruction. The group called on the international community and academic institutions worldwide to take action against Israel’s crimes, strengthen academic boycotts of Israeli institutions involved in war crimes, and prevent further targeting of Palestinian education.

Gaza death toll from Israeli war tops 64,600 as 6 more die of starvation

By Betul Yilmaz  |09.09.2025 - Update : 09.09.2025

PIC and Anadolu, ISTANBUL --

At least 64,605 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, as six more people died of starvation in the besieged enclave, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Tuesday.

A Ministry statement said that 83 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 223 people were injured, taking the number of injuries to 163,319 in the Israeli onslaught.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

The Ministry also noted that 14 Palestinians were killed and over 37 others injured by Israeli army fire while trying to get humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 2,444, with over 17,831 others wounded since May 27.

The Ministry said that six more Palestinians died of malnutrition and starvation in the last 24 hours. This brought the famine-linked death toll since October 2023 to 399 people, including 140 children.

According to the Ministry, 121 of the deaths, 25 of them children, occurred after the UN-backed hunger monitoring system Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) formally declared Gaza a famine zone last month.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have completely closed all Gaza border crossings, pushing the territory’s 2.4 million population into famine.

The Israeli occupation army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 12,059 people and injured 51,278 others, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.

Israeli strike kills two, injures others in Gaza fishing port

GAZA, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) –

An Israeli strike on Tuesday evening killed two Palestinian civilians and injured others in Gaza fishing port, according to local sources.

They said that a combat drone targeted a makeshift tent sheltering displaced people at the port-turned-camp, claiming the lives of two and injuring others.

Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18, carrying out a wave of bloody airstrikes across the Strip and killing at least 12,059 with 51,278 others wounded, according to medical sources.

In the last 24 hours, the bodies of 83 slain Palestinians and at least 223 casualties were admitted to Gaza hospitals.

Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since October 2023, killing 64,605 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 163,319 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Civil Defense: Gaza City is burning, its residents are battling death, hunger, and heat

Tuesday 9-September-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Civil Defense Department in Gaza issued a statement on Tuesday declaring that the city is “burning and humanity is being annihilated,” warning of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

In a press release, it explained that within just 72 hours, Israeli warplanes targeted five high-rise towers, each over seven stories tall, containing approximately 209 residential units. These buildings had sheltered more than 4,100 people, children, women, and the elderly, who are now left homeless.

The statement added that the bombardment also destroyed over 350 tents housing displaced families, leaving around 3,500 people without their final refuge.

According to Civil Defense figures, the total impact of these attacks has resulted in the displacement of approximately 550 families, around 7,600 individuals, now deprived of the most basic necessities of life, and struggling against death, hunger, and heat in what it described as “an unbearable catastrophic scene.”

The Civil Defense issued an urgent appeal to the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to save thousands of innocent lives, stressing that “the world watches in silence while Gaza cries out for rescue before it’s too late.”

The Israeli occupation army issued on Tuesday an evacuation warning to all residents of Gaza City and its neighborhoods, marking the first such order since the announcement of a plan aimed at occupying and destroying the city.

For days, the occupation forces have been carrying out the largest extermination campaign targeting Gaza City and its districts, including repeated strikes on residential buildings and towers under the pretext that Hamas uses them for military purposes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Gaza’s residents on Monday, boasting in a statement that 50 residential towers had been destroyed in just two days, saying, “This is just a prelude, merely the beginning, of the main intensive operation.”

Six Palestinian citizens died of starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours, according to a statement released by Gaza’s health ministry on Tuesday morning.

The new victims have raised the total number of hunger-related deaths in the famished coastal territory to 399 people, including 140 children, the health ministry said.

According to the ministry, 121 of the famine deaths, 25 of them children, occurred after the UN-backed hunger monitoring system Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) formally declared Gaza a famine zone last month.

According to the health ministry, the hospitals in Gaza City have become out of service, while the remaining medical staff are working under severe shortages of essential resources.

The health ministry called for the urgent opening of safe humanitarian corridors to deliver food and medicine to the population, warning that any attempt to transfer patients and the wounded to the southern areas of the Gaza Strip would result in more deaths.

Meanwhile, UNRWA has said that the attacks on residential towers in Gaza City have displaced dozens of families, many left on the streets without shelter or basic necessities.

“With humanitarian access severely restricted, the suffering of already displaced persons is only deepening,” UNRWA said on Tuesday.

Israeli occupation forces continue to massacre civilians across Gaza

Tuesday 9-September-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Tuesday, to carry out intensive deadly strikes and target civilians in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

According to local media sources, the Israeli occupation forces also continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and tents and displace families across the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine.

According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza, Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including strikes on homes in Gaza City’s as-Sudaniya neighborhood that injured several civilians, including women and children.

Two civilians were also martyred in an Israeli attack on Gaza City’s al-Zarqa area.

Several casualties were reported following a dawn strike on an apartment building belonging to the family of Al-'Husari in Gaza City’s Al-Shati area.

An Israeli artillery attack targeted citizens collecting firewood in the north of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one of them.

The Israeli occupation army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women.

Meanwhile, dozens of people were martyred or injured in Israeli attacks on aid seekers near distribution points in separate areas of Gaza.

Six people were also proclaimed dead due to starvation and malnutrition, while other Gazans were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry today.

Israeli occupation forces shoot, injure youth near Jineen

Jineen, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday evening shot and injured a Palestinian youth in Qabatya town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jineen, according to local sources.

They said that the gun-toting soldiers opened fire at a young man on a street in the town, injuring him and requiring him to be hospitalized.

The occupation forces have raided the town since the dawn hours of Monday, deploying infantry and snipers, breaking into civilians’ houses, and turning some into military outposts.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which also take place in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping, arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

IOFs demolish the home of detainee Thabit Masalma in Bait 'Awwa

Tuesday 9-September-2025

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) detonated the home of detainee Thabit Masalma in the town of Bait 'Awwa, southwest of al-Khalil, on Tuesday morning. A large military unit encircled the area, preventing residents from approaching, before planting explosives inside the house and completely destroying it.

The raid resulted in two Palestinians being shot and dozens suffering from tear gas inhalation.

Thabit Masalma is accused of participating in a shooting operation at the Al-Khadhir junction near Bethlehem approximately eight months ago, which led to the death of an Israeli settler and injuries to three others.

This is not the first such incident in Bait 'Awwa. In January, the IOF demolished the home of detainee 'Izzuddeen Masalma’s family, part of a broader policy of collective punishment targeting the families of alleged attackers, a strategy that has consistently failed to suppress resistance over the decades.

Palestinian Authority Cabinet warns of dangers of Gaza City forced evacuation orders, urges immediate international action to protect civilians

RAMALLAH, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) –

At the outset of the weekly Palestinian Authority Cabinet session held today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stated that the financial blockade imposed on the Palestinian Authority represents the cost of its political and national stance, resilience, and continued defiance of the occupation and opposition to Israeli policies targeting the Palestinian people across all areas.

The Prime Minister noted that, as a result of the Palestinian leadership’s national position in support of the people in the Gaza Strip, Israel withholds hundreds of millions of shekels each month from the PA's clearance revenues. Despite this, he affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities toward the Palestinian people.

Prime Minister Mustafa added that the current crisis will ultimately come to an end with the victory of the Palestinian people and the end of the occupation. He emphasized that efforts are underway to ensure the coming months are better than those before, driven by the collective work of all parties, under the leadership of President Mahmoud Abbas, and supported by the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land through all available means, despite the ongoing challenges of colonization, the aggression on Gaza, the financial blockade, and other measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The Prime Minister expressed his sincere thanks to all countries and international institutions that have voiced their support for Palestine and the Palestinian people during this critical period, particularly in light of the hardships faced by the people in the Gaza Strip, as well as those in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

He praised these international positions, expressing hope that they would be translated into practical measures that positively influence the situation in the region.

The Cabinet strongly condemned the crimes committed by the occupation in the Gaza Strip and warned of the severe dangers posed by the evacuation orders for Gaza City, which would result in the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands and further exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.

It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take immediate and practical measures to stop these crimes and bring an end to the ongoing catastrophe that has persisted for two years.

The Cabinet also warned against the escalation of collective punishment policies implemented by the occupation army across various areas of the West Bank, particularly in villages northwest of Jerusalem, emphasizing that these practices will only deepen the crisis and further complicate both the security and humanitarian situations on the ground.

It affirmed that lessons from both recent and distant history have demonstrated the failure of policies such as home demolitions, closures, and the intimidation of civilians in achieving security for any party, and that such measures instead contribute to exacerbating instability in the region.

Global trade federations urge recognition of State of Palestine

RAMALLAH, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) –

Global trade federations on Monday urged all member states of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to recognize the State of Palestine.

“On the eve of the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York the undersigned global unions, representing over 200 million workers worldwide through the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the Global Union Federations (GUFs), and the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (TUAC), fully support the growing commitment of governments to recognize the State of Palestine,” the global trade federations said in a press statement.

They called on all countries to “take this vital step towards achieving a democratic and sovereign

Palestine, living in just and lasting peace alongside a secure Israel.”

“Recognition of the State of Palestine must not be treated as a reward at the end of negotiations. It is an essential element of a just and durable peace,” they added.

They recalled that already, 147 of the 193 United Nations member states have formally recognized Palestine and commended those governments preparing to move forward with recognition during the 2025 UN General Assembly.

“Recognition affirms the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, strengthens international law, and helps create the conditions for genuine negotiations between two equal parties. Recognition is also a step towards redressing the imbalance of power, which prolongs the illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and instability while it continues,” they stressed.

They also stressed that “Recognition now would send a powerful signal that the international community will no longer accept endless deferral of Palestinian rights. It is the foundation on which a real peace process can be built.”

They urged all governments to commit to this step at the United Nations, explaining that “Recognition is a concrete expression of the international community’s will to uphold human rights, ensure compliance with UN Security Council resolutions, and advance the path to a free, independent, and viable Palestine. Only on that basis can a secure Israel and a sovereign Palestine live side by side in peace.”

The signatories included Luc Triangle, General Secretary, International Trade Union Confederation; Atle Høie, General Secretary, IndustriALL Global Union; Anthony Bellanger, General Secretary, International Federation of Journalists; in addition to representatives of the trade unions of education, transportation, construction, public services, building and wood workers, and the UNI Global Union.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Union, Shaher Saad, hailed this “historic” position and considered that international action to halt the unrelenting Israeli genocidal aggression and declare the independence of the State of Palestine has become a pressing necessity.

UN experts stand in solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla, demand full protection of all passengers

NEW YORK, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) -

United Nations experts on Tuesday urged Israel to cease all threats of harm against the Global Sumud Flotilla and ensure it proceeds unhindered in its mission to deliver humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza.

“Any attempt to block the flotilla would constitute a grave violation of international law and humanitarian principles,” the experts said.

They stressed that the flotilla is a consequence of the failure of the international community to end Israel’s unlawful blockade of Gaza and the catastrophic humanitarian crisis it has produced.

“Civil society activists would not be compelled to risk their lives at sea if the General Assembly or Security Council had taken decisive action to ensure safe and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” the experts said.

On 31 August, the Global Sumud Flotilla — comprising more than 50 ships and carrying activists from 44 countries — set sail from Barcelona with critical humanitarian supplies, including food, medicine, and baby formula. A second wave of ships is scheduled to depart from Tunisia this week, joining vessels from Italy, Greece, and elsewhere in the Mediterranean.

The experts expressed extreme concern for the safety of the activists and the risk of unlawful actions against them by Israel. They recalled the attack against the ship Madaleen in June 2025 and raised alarm over recent threats by Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir. On 1 September, Ben-Gvir reportedly presented a plan to the cabinet to halt the flotilla, describing it as “an attempt to support the Hamas terrorist organisation and trample Israeli sovereignty.”

According to available information, the plan threatens all flotilla participants with prolonged detention in Israel’s Ketziot and Damon prisons under harsh conditions usually reserved for “security prisoners”, with basic needs and communications denied. It further provides for the confiscation and repurposing of the ships.

“Such measures would be unlawful and would amount to collective punishment, intimidation and reprisals against human rights defenders,” the experts said. “States must act now or risk complicity in Israel’s grave violations of Palestinians’ rights.”

The experts recalled that under international law, Gaza remains occupied territory. Israel’s 17-year blockade — which has deliberately restricted food, fuel, medical supplies, shelter and other humanitarian assistance, with particular impacts on women and children — constitutes collective punishment prohibited by international humanitarian law.

“Israel’s actions must be seen in the context of an unlawful occupation and the broader assault on the Palestinian people, which numerous authoritative bodies have warned may amount to genocide,” they said.

The experts also stressed the obligations of all States under the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions to ensure respect for international humanitarian law. “States must make clear that they will not tolerate Israel blocking humanitarian aid to a population facing starvation and genocide. They must press Israel to immediately lift its suffocating blockade and allow aid to be delivered through all crossings into Gaza,” they said.

UN child rights committee condemns using starvation of children as weapon of war in Gaza

GENEVA, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) -

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child expressed its deepest concern today over the catastrophic impact on children of the ongoing hostilities in Gaza, ahead of the upcoming 80th United Nations General Assembly session, and urgently reiterated its calls for decisive action by all States, and in particular by Israel as a de facto occupying force.

The Committee highlighted that the famine has now taken hold in Gaza. Malnutrition among children is accelerating at a catastrophic pace. The Committee echoed the multiple UN agencies’ warning that, without immediate and unhindered humanitarian access, the manmade famine will spread, and more children will die.

“The Committee is gravely concerned about the denial of basic necessities for survival. Children in Gaza are enduring unimaginable suffering due to acute malnutrition, starvation and conditions of famine,” it said.

“Essential services have also collapsed: safe drinking water, sanitation, and adequate health care are non-existent. Civilian infrastructure has been essentially destroyed, leaving children deprived of the minimum conditions required for survival and development,” the Committee added.

At the same time, children continue to be direct victims of ongoing military attacks. Over the weekend, the Israeli army intensified its bombardment of Gaza City, repeatedly striking residential towers and leaving them in ruins.

“Confirmed reports indicate horrific levels of killing, maiming, and widespread violence against children.  Countless children have lost parents, siblings, and extended family members, leaving them in profound grief and with extreme psychological trauma that will affect their lives for years to come,” the Committee said.

“Israel’s ongoing actions constitute outright violations that strike at the very heart of the rights enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child,” the Committee stressed.

The Committee also urged Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza.

“Israel must take immediate action to end its obstruction of humanitarian aid and must guarantee that unrestricted, sustained and secure assistance reaches the people of Gaza. It must take measures to protect children in Gaza from further harm, and respect and uphold their inherent rights and dignity in full compliance with the Convention,” the Committee said.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
