*** Note about the number of Palestinians, who were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces in the Wet Bank: Palestinian Prisoners’ institutions reported that 662 Palestinians, including 39 children and 12 women, were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, including Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), during July 2025. The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), and Al-Dhameer Association for Human Rights stated in a report issued Sunday that the total number of kidnappings of Palestinians in the West Bank, since the start of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, has risen to more than 18,500, including over 570 women and about 1,500 children. In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

The meeting was co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, with the participation of President Mahmoud Abbas via video conference, alongside several heads of state, government leaders, and representatives of international and regional organizations. Saudi Arabia, in partnership with France, had led the preparatory meetings for this high-level conference during April and May 2025. Specialized working groups were formed to prepare for the sessions and identify practical outcomes. Here's the full text of the joint Statement of the Co-Chairs of the Conference: 1. We, Leaders of the Republic of France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Co-Chairs of the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, commend States who gathered at the United Nations in New York on the 22nd of September 2025 at a historically critical moment for peace, security, and stability in the Middle East. 2. The High-Level International Conference led to the adoption of the New York Declaration endorsed by the General Assembly with an outstanding majority of 142 votes. This ambitious declaration reaffirms the unwavering international commitment to the Two-State solution and charts an irreversible pathway to build a better future for Palestinians, Israelis and all peoples of the region. 3. As we are gathered, the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate with the intensification of the Israeli ground offensive in Gaza city, and with civilians and hostages paying an unjustifiable price due to the ongoing war. The New York Declaration aims at providing a principled, yet realistic alternative to the cycle of violence and endless wars. 4. It is now time for the international community to move from words to deeds. We commend the important work done by the seventeen co-chairs of the working groups of the conference to draw a path for a swift implementation of the Two-State solution. We call on all States to swiftly implement the New York declaration through tangible, concrete and irreversible measures. We welcome the important commitments and measures already taken by UN Member States. 5. We welcome the recognition of the State of Palestine by Australia, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Denmark, Andorra, Monaco and San Marino, alongside France, confirmed today at the United Nations’ General Assembly. We invite States which have not done so to join this movement. 6. Ending the war in Gaza and ensuring the release of all hostages remains our absolute priority. We call for a permanent ceasefire, the release of all hostages, exchange of prisoners, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. 7. In order to secure the Day After for Palestinians and Israelis, we commit to supporting the deployment of a temporary international stabilization mission upon invitation by the Palestinian Authority, to be mandated by the UN Security Council, in line with the New York Declaration. Meanwhile, we commit to scaling up our support to train and equip Palestinian police and security forces, building on existing programs, including USSC, EUPOLCOPPS and EUBAM Rafah. 8. We stress the importance of unifying the Gaza Strip with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority. We welcome the “One State, One Government, One Law, One Gun” policy of the Palestinian Authority and pledge our continued support to its implementation. In the context of ending the war in Gaza, we reiterate that Hamas must end its rule in Gaza, disarm and hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority, with international engagement and support, in line with the objective of a sovereign Palestinian State. 9. This Conference, and the recognition of Palestine, aims at the realization of a sovereign, democratic and economically viable State of Palestine, living side by side in peace and security with Israel. In that regard, we commend the historic commitments made by President Mahmoud Abbas including to the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine, the continued rejection of violence and terrorism, and his statement that the Palestinian State has no intention to be a militarized State and is ready to work on security arrangements beneficial to all parties, in full respect of its sovereignty. 10. We welcome the reforms already underway by the Palestinian Authority, including: - The abrogation of the prisoners’ payment system, that is now effective; - The schooling/curricula reform, under EU supervision and with Saudi support; - The commitment to hold democratic and transparent general and presidential elections within a year after a ceasefire, enabling democratic competition between Palestinian actors committed to respect the PLO platform and principles. We support President Abbas in advancing further measures to reform the governance of the Palestinian Authority. 11. We welcome the launching of the Emergency Coalition for Palestine to mobilize emergency budgetary support to the Palestinian Authority. We invite all States and international organizations to join this effort. We reiterate our call for the immediate release by Israel of withheld Palestinian tax revenues and commit to the revision of the Paris Protocol on Economic Relations and the establishment of a new framework for clearance revenue transfers. 12. We urge the Israeli leadership to seize this opportunity for peace, and to issue a clear public commitment to the Two-State solution, immediately end violence and incitement against Palestinians, halt all settlement, land grabs, and annexation activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and put an end to settlers’ violence. As a first step, we urge Israel to rescind the E1 project, and publicly renounce any annexation project. We reiterate that any form of annexation is a redline for the international community that bears serious consequences and constitutes a direct risk to existing and future peace agreements. 13. In that regard, we welcome concrete measures taken by Member States to respond to unilateral measures against the Two-State solution and to violations of international law until Israel puts an end to actions that are endangering the Two-State solution, in full compliance with international law. 14. We reaffirm that ending the Israeli occupation and achieving just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians, based on the relevant UN resolutions, is the only way to achieve full regional integration, as provided for in the Arab Peace initiative. In that regard, we welcome the commitment to explore a regional security architecture that could provide security guarantees for all, building on the experience of ASEAN and OSCE, paving the way for a more stable Middle East. We reiterate our support to renewed effort on the Syria-Israel and Lebanon-Israel tracks with the aim of achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East, in accordance with international law and the relevant UN resolutions. 15. We reiterate our call to all States to join this dynamic to ensure peace and security for all in the Middle East, mutual recognition and full regional integration. K.T. *** 'Hamas welcomes statement issued by the presidency of the int’l two-state solution conference. Tuesday 23-September-2025 DOHA, (PIC) The 'Hamas Movement welcomed the joint statement issued by the presidency of the International Conference for the Two-State Solution held in New York, which called for turning international positions into concrete actions to compel the Israeli occupation to commit to a permanent ceasefire, a prisoner exchange, the guaranteed delivery of humanitarian aid, a withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and a halt to settlement expansion, annexation plans, and land confiscation. In a statement issued Tuesday evening, 'Hamas expressed appreciation for all positions aimed at securing justice for the Palestinian people and fulfilling their aspirations for liberation and return. The Movement praised the calls for ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, establishing a fully sovereign Palestinian state, and enabling the Palestinian people to obtain all of their legitimate national rights. 'Hamas also emphasized that allowing the extremist fascist Israeli government to continue its crimes, genocide, and starvation over the past 23 months without accountability or consequences is a stain on the conscience of all those who support the occupation or fail to act to stop its aggression and prosecute its war criminals. The Movement reaffirmed that 'Hamas and all resistance forces constitute a national liberation front and that armed resistance is a legitimate right guaranteed by all international laws and conventions until the occupation ends and an independent Palestinian state is established with Jerusalem as its capital. The international conference on the “Two-State Solution” called on the international community to turn its stated positions into practical steps, demanding that Israel commit clearly to halting settlement activity. In its statement on Tuesday, the conference presidency confirmed that the event, which was held Monday, concluded with the adoption of the “New York Declaration,” which received support from 142 member states of the United Nations General Assembly. The declaration reaffirms international commitment to the two-state solution and lays out an irreversible path toward a better future for both Palestinians and Israelis, as well as for the entire region. The statement also welcomed new recognitions of the State of Palestine from countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Malta, in addition to France. Jointly issued by Saudi Arabia and France as co-chairs of the conference, the statement highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to the escalating Israeli ground operations. It noted that the “New York Declaration” offers a principled and realistic alternative to the ongoing cycle of violence. It urged the international community to move beyond words and take practical, tangible steps to implement the declaration, welcoming commitments from member states. The statement emphasized that ending the war in Gaza and securing the release of all Israeli detainees remain top priorities. It called for a permanent ceasefire, a prisoner exchange, unimpeded humanitarian aid delivery, and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. The international conference was launched Monday evening in New York under the joint presidency of Saudi Arabia and France. It took place amid a wave of international recognitions of the State of Palestine, which the United States has rejected, and to which Israel has responded with threats. Since October 7, 2023, Israel, under full US backing, has been committing acts of genocide in Gaza, leaving 65,344 Palestinians killed and 166,795 injured, the majority of them women and children. Starvation has claimed the lives of 442 people, including 147 children. *** Monaco, Malta, Belgium, Luxembourg, Andorra officially recognize Palestinian statehood NEW YORK, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Prince Albert II of Monaco announced Monday evening his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine. This came in his speech at the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York. The Prince of Monaco said: "We wish to recognize the State of Palestine under international law... Peace must not remain a distant dream, and a solution based on two states living side by side will bring stability to the region." Meanwhile, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela announced his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine during the International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. He said, "The two-state solution is the only way to guarantee peace in the Middle East, and Malta supports the Palestinian Authority's approach of one state, one government, one law, and one weapon." He continued, "The war in Gaza, which is suffering from starvation, must stop now, and the violence of Israeli settlers must cease immediately." Moreover, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever announced that his country recognizes the State of Palestine. This came in his speech at the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York. De Wever said, "Israeli settlement activity, the military operation to completely seize control of the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli government's declaration that there is no Palestinian state are all additional reasons that prompt us to declare our recognition of a Palestinian state." He continued, "We are sending a diplomatic and political message of recognition of the State of Palestine." Additionally, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden announced his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine. This came in his address to the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York. Frieden stated that the two-state solution remains the only way forward towards lasting peace. He emphasized that recognition is not the end of the process, but rather the beginning of a renewed commitment to hope, diplomacy, dialogue, coexistence, and the two-state solution. Furthermore, Andorra's Foreign Minister, Imma Tor Faus, announced that her country recognizes the State of Palestine. This came in her address to the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York. Tor Faus, who began her speech by highlighting the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the horrific conflict. She said, "The only credible path out of this conflict is the two-state solution." K.T. *** Western nations urge Israel to reopen medical corridor between Gaza and West Bank RAMALLAH, September 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Dozens of Western countries have called on Israel to reopen the medical corridor between Gaza and the occupied West Bank, offering financial aid, medical personnel, and equipment to treat patients from Gaza in the West Bank. In a joint statement issued by Canada on Monday and reported by Reuters, the countries said: “We strongly urge Israel to reopen the medical corridor to the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, so that medical evacuations from Gaza can resume and patients can access the urgent care they need.” The 25 signatories to the statement, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the European Union, and Poland, all signed, but not the United States. The statement added: "We also urge Israel to lift restrictions on the delivery of medicines and medical equipment to Gaza." Aid agencies have reported that critical aid, including medicines, has been scarce to Gaza residents since Israel lifted its aid blockade in May, while the World Health Organization has declared that Gaza's health system is on the brink of collapse. Israel controls all entrances to Gaza and says it allows sufficient food aid and supplies to enter. Images of starving Palestinians, including children, have sparked global outrage over Israel's assault on Gaza, which has killed tens of thousands since October 2023, displaced the entire population of the territory, and triggered a famine crisis. Numerous human rights experts and researchers, as well as a UN commission of inquiry, say the assault amounts to genocide. Some key US allies, most notably Britain and France, have endorsed Palestinian statehood at the United Nations as a path to a two-state solution, despite Washington's opposition. Y.S. *** UN General Assembly opens 80th session in New York RAMALLAH, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly officially opened in New York on Tuesday. This year's session, titled "Better Together: 80 Years and Beyond for Peace, Development and Human Rights," will continue until Saturday, September 27, and conclude on Monday, September 29, 2025. World leaders are expected to discuss solutions to pressing global challenges to promote peace, security, and sustainable development. On September 19, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in favor of President Mahmoud Abbas's participation via videoconference at the annual meeting of world leaders in New York. The resolution, which was supported by 145 countries, authorized the State of Palestine to deliver statements via video or to submit a pre-recorded statement at the sessions of the High-Level Conference on the Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Two-State Solution. It also allowed it to deliver pre-recorded statements to its President or another high-level representative at any high-level meeting or United Nations conference or international meeting held under the auspices of the General Assembly, or as appropriate if representatives of the State of Palestine were prevented from participating in United Nations meetings. The General Assembly expressed its regret over the United States’ decision to deny visas to Palestinian representatives and to cancel their visas prior to the eightieth session of the General Assembly, thus preventing them from participating in person in United Nations meetings. Y.S. *** PRCS: Israeli occupation forces disable oxygen station at Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza RAMALLAH, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced on Tuesday that its oxygen station at Al-Quds Hospital in the Tel El-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, has ceased operation after being shot at by Israeli occupation forces. In a statement, the PRCS warned of the dangerous situation surrounding the hospital, adding that "the oxygen station at Al-Quds Hospital in the Tel El-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City has stopped working after being targeted by Israeli occupation forces." The PRCS noted that the hospital is now relying on pre-filled oxygen cylinders, which will only last for three days, directly threatening the lives of patients. The society added that Israeli occupation vehicles are positioned at the southern gate of the hospital, preventing entry and exit, warning of the dangerous conditions around the hospital, which threaten the safety of both patients and medical staff. The PRCS stressed that hospitals must be safe havens for civilians and are entitled to special protection under international humanitarian law, calling on the international community to take immediate action to protect medical staff and patients inside the hospital. A.D./ K.F. *** Israel seeks permanent control of Gaza, Jewish majority in Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel, UN Commission of Inquiry says NEW YORK, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli government has demonstrated a clear and consistent intent to establish permanent control over the Gaza Strip while ensuring a Jewish majority in the occupied West Bank and inside Israel, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel said in a new report on Tuesday. The Commission investigated developments relating to land and housing in all areas of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and in Israel. The report provides relevant historical background, identifying historical origins to processes of land confiscation, population displacement, discrimination in land and housing, and construction and expansion of colonial settlements. The Commission’s report will be presented to the General Assembly’s 80th session on 28 October 2025 in New York. The report also includes a summary of the Commission’s conference room paper on Israel’s conduct in the Gaza Strip pursuant to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which was published on 16 September during the Human Rights Council’s 60th session. In this paper the Commission found that four genocidal acts were carried out in Gaza. These acts were committed by the Israeli authorities and security forces with specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza. “Actions of Israeli leaders are attributable to the State of Israel; therefore, as a State, Israel is responsible for the commission of genocide, for failing to prevent it, and for failing to punish it,” the Commission said, while noting that the Israeli President, Prime Minister and former ‘Defense’ Minister have incited the commission of genocide. With regards to the Gaza Strip, the report published today found that Israeli authorities extensively and systematically demolished civilian infrastructure in the corridors and buffer zone and continuously enlarged areas under their control reaching 75 percent of the Gaza Strip by July 2025. Actions undertaken by Israeli authorities to expand the buffer zone and establish corridors have substantially reduced the territory available for Palestinians, with significant implications for their ability to exercise their right to self-determination. In destroying civilian objects and forcibly transferring the population, the Commission found that the Israeli authorities deliberately deprived Palestinians in Gaza of resources indispensable for their survival. As such, the Commission found that such actions deliberately inflicted conditions of life on the Palestinians in Gaza calculated to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinians in Gaza, which is an underlying act of genocide. “Israel must immediately end and reverse its confiscation and use of Palestinian land in Gaza, including for the creation and expansion of the buffer zone and corridors. It must return all confiscated land to its Palestinian owners,” said Navi Pillay, Chair of the Commission. “Israeli confiscation and control of land ostensibly carried out for security purposes have not achieved more security for anyone but have deepened the misery of the Palestinian people and deprived them of resources indispensable for their survival, including the capacity to produce food,” she added. In the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Israeli policies and actions implemented since October 2023 - including explicit and implicit support for actions of violent colonists - demonstrate clear intent to forcibly transfer Palestinians, expand Israeli Jewish colonies and annex the entirety of the West Bank, preventing any potential Palestinian self-determination and statehood and maintaining an indefinite occupation. The Commission found that Israeli military operations in Jenin, Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps - which began in early 2025 - have significantly altered the geographical landscape through the destruction of buildings and infrastructure and the displacement of Palestinian residents. “I am particularly appalled by the Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich’s recently announced plan of annexing 82 percent of the occupied West Bank, and by the approval of a plan cementing the E1 settlement expansion, with Prime Minister Netanyahu asserting that this will ensure there will be no Palestinian State,” said Pillay. “These developments corroborate our findings. Israeli encroachment into the entirety of the West Bank and the dispossession and relocation of multiple Palestinian communities are now explicit goals, which Israeli officials proudly boast about. These plans and statements are abhorrent and must be condemned widely,” she added. In relation to the situation in Israel, the Commission found that successive Israeli Governments have implemented laws and policies to diminish Palestinian space, including through confining Palestinian localities and hindering Palestinians with Israeli citizenship from moving and integrating into Jewish localities. “Additionally, informal barriers resulting from wider, primarily socio-economic inequalities between the two populations have grown and become entrenched over decades, further preventing integration. Some policies and laws were identified as explicitly discriminatory, while others have a discriminatory impact, resulting in segregation.” “Similarities between land and housing policies impacting Palestinians in Israel and those applied towards Palestinians in the occupied West Bank point to the existence of a broader policy towards the Palestinian population as a whole, intended to secure a Jewish majority in all areas under Israeli control, reducing the possibility of geographical self-determination for the Palestinian people.” The report identified six Israeli ministers as likely bearing the most responsibility for international crimes relating to land and housing, as well as other crimes identified in the Commission’s previous reports. They are former Minister of ‘Defense’ Yoav Gallant and current Minister of ‘Defence’ Israel Katz, both of whom are responsible for actions of Israeli security forces in Gaza; Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and Minister of Settlements and National Projects Orit Strock, who are jointly responsible for driving colonial settlement construction and expansion in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem; Minister for National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is responsible for mistreatment of Palestinian detainees by Israeli prison authorities; Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is ultimately responsible for Israel’s conduct in the whole of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and is directly responsible for ordering the commission of acts that constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of genocide. The Commission said that Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Minister of ‘Defence’ Galant were also responsible for the crime of incitement to genocide. The Commission urged Israel’s Government to immediately end the commission of genocide in the Gaza Strip and comply fully with the provisional measures of the International Court of Justice and with the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice from 2024. It also urged the Israeli Government to end without delay its unlawful occupation of the Palestinian territory, remove all Israeli colonial settlements and colonists from the West Bank and other occupied territories, and end and reverse the consequences of all discriminatory land, housing and planning policies promoting segregation in land allocation and housing inside Israel. K.F. *** Spain imposes total arms embargo on Israel over Gaza genocide MADRID, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The Spanish government on Tuesday imposed on Tuesday a total arms embargo on Israel over the latter’s unrelenting genocidal aggression on Gaza, according to TRT World. Citing El Pais online Spanish newspaper, TRT World reported Spain’s Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo saying the decision was “further evidence of the political commitment of the government and the international leadership of Spain and the prime minister for respect for human rights.” The embargo, announced earlier by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, goes beyond partial restrictions previously in place and includes a ban on arms exports, fuel transit, and imports of products and services from the occupied Palestinian territory. “Spain already had partial bans, such as Slovenia, Belgium, and the Netherlands, but with this measure, we are the first country to prohibit arms exports, fuel transit, and imports … paving the way for the EU,” the left-wing coalition partner Sumar said in a statement. Spanish Government spokesperson and Education Minister Pilar Alegria reiterated Spain’s stance on recognizing Palestine, recalling Sanchez’s remarks at the UN. “As the prime minister underlined at the UN, recognizing the state of Palestine is urgent. Spain did so in May, and now we see many countries such as France, Portugal, Canada, the UK, and Australia following suit. Spain has played a key role from the start in supporting coexistence through a two-state solution,” Alegria said. This came as Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez renewed his call for Palestine to be admitted as a full member of the United Nations. Speaking at a UN pre-assembly meeting in New York after a French-led summit on recognition, Sanchez said: “This conference marks a milestone, but it’s not the end of the road. It’s only the beginning. The state of Palestine must be a full member of the United Nations. The process for the state of Palestine to join this organization must be completed as soon as possible, on an equal footing with other states.” K.F. *** Israel’s prison system engaged in slow-death policies against detainees, says PPS RAMALLAH, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that the Israeli prison system continues its policies and medical neglect and systemic abuse against Palestinian detainees, aiming to destroy them physically and psychologically. The PPS described these practices are as part of a deliberate slow-death policy that has led to the deaths of dozens of detainees since the start of Israel’s war of extermination. In a statement, he PPS noted that through legal visits to detainees, as well as monitoring cases of prisoners released after completing their sentences, it has become clear that the number of those suffering from chronic physical and psychological illnesses is rising at unprecedented levels. The PPS further emphasized that the overwhelming majority of those visited are suffering from at least one health problem. It affirmed that the ongoing spread of diseases and epidemics among detainees reflects the level of the health catastrophe engineered and shaped by the prison system, leading to the deaths of more prisoners. In addition to the continued spread of scabies, which has infected thousands of prisoners, there are many diseases that appear without a clear diagnosis. Some of them were transferred to hospitals immediately after their release, only to later discover that they were suffering from chronic diseases. Y.S. *** UNRWA: 12 facilities in Gaza, including schools and clinics, damaged by Israeli strikes GAZA, September 22, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Tuesday that 12 of its facilities in Gaza City were directly or indirectly hit between September 11 and 16. UNRWA added on its official website that among the targeted facilities were nine schools and two health centers, which sheltered more than 11,000 displaced persons. UNRWA noted that its activities in Gaza City have significantly decreased due to the deteriorating security situation. UNRWA's only health center in northern Wadi Gaza a, located in Al-Shati refugee camp, was forced to suspend operations on September 13 due to intensified attacks and damage sustained during the raids. The agency stated that the massive destruction to the city's infrastructure, coupled with the severe disruption to humanitarian operations and access restrictions, severely impede the last remaining lifelines for civilians in Gaza City. On September 16, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel committed genocide, stating that Israel prevented trusted aid agencies (including UNRWA) from delivering essential and life-saving assistance, with the aim of "physical destruction of Palestinians in Gaza through harsh living conditions." The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that nearly half of the more than 246,800 displacements recorded since mid-August occurred in the past week alone, with increasing reports of displaced families sleeping on the streets or in makeshift tents, struggling to survive. UNRWA noted that Israeli forces have tightened movement and access restrictions in the West Bank, including the installation of new road gates to control the movement of Palestinians in and out of communities across the region. Y.S. *** PPS: Palestinian prisoners face systematic abuse in Israeli prisons Tuesday 23-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said Tuesday that Israeli prison authorities continue systematic medical abuse against Palestinian detainees, describing it as a policy of physical and psychological destruction that forms part of Israel’s broader slow-kill strategy, which has already led to the martyrdom of dozens of prisoners since the start of the genocide in Gaza. In a press statement, the PPS explained that legal visits and follow-up with former detainees after their release have revealed an unprecedented rise in chronic health and psychological conditions among prisoners. It said the overwhelming majority of prisoners seen during legal visits suffer from at least one serious medical problem, a situation mirrored among those released. The PPS noted that the spread of disease inside Israeli prisons reflects a deliberate health catastrophe engineered by the prison system. Thousands of detainees have contracted scabies, in addition to other untreated illnesses that often go undiagnosed. Some prisoners have been transferred directly to hospitals upon release, only to be diagnosed later with chronic, long-term illnesses. According to data from the PPS, as of early September 2025, there are about 11,100 Palestinians held in Israeli jails, including 3,577 held without charge under administrative detention. *** ****** Gaza: Hospitals receive 38 martyrs, death toll climbs to 65,382 martyrs Tuesday 23-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC, WAFA) During the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 38 civilians, as well as 190 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry on Tuesday morning. The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 65,382 martyrs, including 2,526 aid seekers, the health ministry said. The ministry added that the total number of the wounded also surged to 166,985 people, including 18,511 aid seekers. Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities. Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. *** Israeli occupation army intensifies attacks on civilians, kills dozens in Gaza Tuesday 23-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Tuesday, to carry out intensive deadly strikes and target civilians in different areas of the Gaza Strip, mainly in Gaza City. Jewish holidays and occasions to carry out widespread incursions, amid heightened security and restrictions on the movement of Palestinians and worshippers in the Old City of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). These groups aim to increase colonist presence in the holy site and impose Talmudic rituals within the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, a dangerous step toward establishing new Judaization practices in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. These incursions are part of the occupation's efforts to obliterate the Islamic and historical identity of Jerusalem and threaten Islamic sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque. Meanwhile, calls continue for Jerusalemites and those within Israel to mobilize and defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound to thwart the plans of the occupation and the settlers, and to emphasize that the mosque is a red line that cannot be crossed. The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is subjected to daily incursions by colonists, under the protection of the occupation, in an attempt to impose temporal and spatial division, exacerbating tensions and threatening the religious and historical status of the mosque. Y.S. *** Palestinian man forced to self-demolish his house near Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), September 23, 2025 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation authorities on Tuesday forced a Palestinian to demolish his own house in Soor Bahir neighborhood, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of East Jerusalem, according to Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Governorate. It said that the occupation authorities forced Mu'hammed 'Aabid Mu'hammed El-A‘mas to tear down his house, purportedly for being built without a license. He added that El-A‘mas had carried out the demolition of his house to avoid paying exorbitant fines should the occupation municipality of Jerusalem demolish the structure on its own. Using the pretext of illegal building, Israel demolishes houses regularly to restrict Palestinian expansion in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). At the same time, the occupation municipality and government build tens of thousands of housing units in the illegal Israeli settlements in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) for Jews to offset the demographic balance in favour of the Jewish colonists in the occupied city. Although Palestinians in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), a part of the internationally recognized Palestinian Territory that has been subject to Israeli military occupation since 1967, they are denied their citizenship rights and are instead classified only as "residents" whose permits can be revoked if they move away from the city for more than a few years. They are also discriminated against in all aspects of life including housing, employment and services, and are unable to access services in the West Bank due to the construction of Israel's separation wall. According to a report by the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, the Israeli occupation High Court could be liable for war crimes for their policies that led to the dispossession of Palestinians from their properties in Area C of the West Bank. The report, Fake Justice, shows that the court’s support of Israeli planning policy is tantamount to support for dispossession and forcible transfer of Palestinians, a war crime under international law. K.F. *** Israeli occupation forces obstruct Palestinians’ movement near Qalqilya QALQILYA, September 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Tuesday evening obstructed the movement of Palestinians at the entrance of 'Habla town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Qalqilya, according to eyewitnesses. They said that the occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the town entrance, stopping Palestinian-licensed vehicles and inspecting passengers’ ID cards. The occupation forces have tightened military measures across the occupied West Bank hours after the release of 90 Palestinian prisoners as part of the Gaza ceasefire went into effect on January 19, dismembering and isolating cities and governorates from one another using military gates, barriers, and concrete blocks. The Israeli military measures are in parallel with ongoing attacks by Israeli colonists across the West Bank to terrorize Palestinians and displace them from their lands to seize them and build illegal Jewish colonies that separate Palestinian communities. Israel severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement within the occupied West Bank through a complex combination of approximately 898 fixed and flying checkpoints and gates, including 18 gates that have been installed since the start of 2025 and 146 others installed in the aftermath of October 7, 2023, settler-only roads, over 200 military bases, and various other physical obstructions. Closures besides other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 58-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project, which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians. Y.S. *** GSF nears Greece as activists defy Israeli threats to abort their attempt to break Gaza blockade Tuesday 23-September-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) sailing to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza is approaching Greek territorial waters near Crete, with organizers estimating it will reach Gaza within six days. The GSF, made up of dozens of boats and ships carrying activists from nearly 50 countries, marks the largest civilian maritime effort yet to challenge Israel’s 18-year siege on the Strip, where famine has already claimed the lives of at least 442 Palestinians. Organizers reported unidentified drones hovering over the ships for three consecutive nights, a development they condemned as an attempt to intimidate and discredit the mission. They also recalled earlier incidents in Tunisia, where two flotilla vessels were struck by Israeli drones in the port of Sidi Bou Said. Israel has remained silent on those attacks. French parliamentarian François Piquemal, who joined the flotilla, accused Israel of systematically smearing anyone who speaks out against what he described as genocide in Gaza. “This is a purely civilian and humanitarian initiative,” he told Anadolu Agency, stressing that participants include doctors, aid workers, politicians, journalists, and artists. “These accusations are the usual tactics of a state committing genocide,” Piquemal said. “Even Pope Francis was recently labeled anti-Semitic. Such rhetoric is meant to distract from the reality of terror.” He emphasized that the mission is guided by humanitarian duty, not politics, “Participants in this flotilla refuse to stand by and simply watch Gaza starve. They are acting because the international community has failed.” Organizers underscored that their civilian, peaceful effort complies with international law and that delivering aid by sea to Gaza is a protected right. They denounced Israel’s threats against the flotilla, calling them illegal attempts to maintain a blockade that has plunged 2.4 million Palestinians into starvation. Since March 2 this year, Israel has sealed all Gaza crossings, barring food and aid trucks, while allowing only extremely limited assistance that fails to meet even minimum survival needs. Many trucks have also been looted by gangs protected by the Israeli army. Backed by the US, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed more than 65,000 Palestinians and wounded over 166,000 since October 7, 2023. *** =============================================================================================================================== Editorial
