While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

'Hamas negotiations chief appears in video after surviving Israeli assassination attempt

Sunday 5-October-2025

DO'HA, (PIC)

The head of the 'Hamas negotiating delegation, Khaleel El-'Hayya, has appeared in a video message shared by the Palestinian Resistance Movement, which was his first appearance, since the Israeli occupation apartheid regime tried to assassinate him, by a missile attack on Do'ha, Qatar.

A short video released by 'Hamas showed El-'Hayya addressing the public, saying, “What I see every day of killing and destruction in Gaza makes me forget the pain of losing my children and loved ones.”

“Today, as we live in the shadow of both pain and dignity, having lost thousands of our people, women, children, and the elderly, the Almighty has honored us by counting among them our sons, grandsons, brothers, and relatives. We are part of this great family, the Palestinian people, especially the people of Gaza.”

The assassination attempt was on September 9, 2025, when the Israeli occupation apartheid regime launched air strikes targeting 'Hamas leaders in Qatar’s capital, Do'ha, as they were discussing a ceasefire proposal put forward by the US, killing El-Hayya’s office director, Jihad Lubbad, his son Homam El-'Hayya, three aides, and a Qatari security officer.

Egypt to host Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange talks in Sharm El-Shaikh

Sunday 5-October-2025

CAIRO, (PIC)

Egypt will host delegations from 'Hamas and Israel on Monday in the city of Sharm El-Shaikh to discuss arrangements for implementing US president Donald Trump’s plan concerning a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, according to the Egyptian ministry of foreign affairs.

Al Jazeera satellite channel quoted a diplomatic source in Cairo as saying that technical talks over implementing the first phase of the plan will start tomorrow (Monday), with the participation of Egyptian, Qatari, and US delegations.

According to the source, the Hamas delegation will leave Doha this evening for Cairo while the Qatari delegation is expected to arrive in Egypt tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Trump has dispatched his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff to Cairo to lead US efforts, while Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu said that a delegation from Israel is also heading to Egypt to finalize technical details.

The Wall Street Journal quoted diplomatic sources as saying that the talks in Sharm El-Shaikh aim to finalize a 20-point agreement proposed by Trump to end the war. Both 'Hamas and Israel have expressed conditional support for the plan.

The plan calls for a ceasefire and the release of Israeli captives within 72 hours after announcing its implementation. 'Hamas also needs to launch inter-Palestinian deliberations before proceeding further.

Journalists Syndicate condemns brutal Israeli assault and detention of Tunisian journalist Yasseen Gaidi aboard Global Sumud Flotilla

RAMALLAH, October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned the brutal assault by Israeli occupation forces on Tunisian journalist Yasseen Gaidi, a member of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT)’s executive office, who was detained by Israeli forces while aboard one of the Global Sumud Flotilla boats.

In a statement, the Syndicate called on all international institutions to exert pressure for the immediate release of Tunisian journalist Yasseen Gaidi, along with all journalists and international and Arab activists detained while aboard the humanitarian flotilla that was delivering aid to Gaza and documenting war crimes committed against its people.

The Syndicate said that the brutal assault by Israeli forces on international journalists, along with their abduction and detention from Palestinian and international waters in the Mediterranean Sea, confirms that the occupation seeks to continue committing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip without allowing any media coverage.

The Syndicate stressed that the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists is a deliberate policy directed by the Israeli government to suppress media coverage.

The Syndicate stressed that the Netanyahu government, which has committed what it described as the first media genocide in human history, is extending its systematic crimes to include international and Arab journalists in an effort to prevent them from reporting on the situation.

It affirmed that, in partnership with the International Federation of Journalists, the Syndicate will continue to pursue legal action before international courts and the International Criminal Court to prosecute and hold accountable those responsible for the killing of journalists, as well as the war crimes and acts of genocide committed against Palestinian, Arab, and international journalists.

During the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 65 civilians, as well as 153 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, on Sunday morning.

Thus, the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 67,139 fatalities, with an additional 169,583 people sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.

Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation.

ICRC: Gaza’s civilian population has endured two years of death, displacement, and loss of dignity on a devastating level

GAZA STRIP, October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

Sarah Avrillaud, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) sub-delegation in the Gaza Strip, said that for two years, the civilian population has endured death, forced displacement, and the denial of dignity on a devastating level.

“We have seen humanity hollowed out in Gaza,” she said.

In a statement, Avrillaud added: “Thousands of Palestinians have been separated from their families, and many remain missing. The toll of the past two years is visible on the exhausted faces of people trying to make it hour by hour.”

“Remaining essential services cannot adequately meet the needs of civilians. Many people do not have regular or safe access to water, hygiene facilities, or medical services. The toll two years of struggling to survive has taken on people is beyond words.”

The statement continued: “I have met terrified mothers who do not know how to feed their children or to keep them safe. I’ve seen patients struggling to recover when they cannot rest because of constant displacement. I have watched entire families emerging from dust-covered, destroyed buildings, shocked but alive.”

Avrillaud emphasized that “the International Committee of the Red Cross continues to respond wherever possible, alongside partners like the Palestine Red Crescent Society, but as the situation deteriorates, challenges only increase. Humanitarian organizations alone cannot meet the ever-increasing needs of civilians.”

She further stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire and called for the rapid and unimpeded entry and passage of humanitarian assistance across the Gaza Strip.

“All feasible precautions must be taken to spare the civilian population, who have already endured far too much in the last two years,” she said, adding, “Lives can be saved, but civilians can’t afford to wait. They need political action now.”

El-Khaleel (Hebron), October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

Several Palestinian residents suffocated by tear gas fired by Israeli occupation forces during confrontations that erupted on Sunday in the village of Al-Ri'hiya, south of El-Khaleel (Hebron), according to eyewitnesses.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation soldiers attacked Palestinian landowners as they staged a peaceful protest denouncing the seizure of their lands by the Israeli occupation forces and its illegal settlers in the Khillet El-Ma’asir area of the village, sparking confrontations.

The Israeli occupation forces attacked protesters with tear gas canisters, causing numerous cases of suffocation among them.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap several members of Fat'h movement in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation forces carried out a wide-scale raid and kidnapping campaign at dawn Sunday in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), targeting several members and activists of the Fat'h movement, including secretaries and members of various organizational areas in the occupied capital.

Local sources told WAFA that the Israeli occupation forces simultaneously stormed several neighborhoods in the city, raided citizens’ homes, and tampered with their contents before kidnapping five Fat'h members: 'Abdullah Shuwaiki, Yasmeen Abu Ta’ah, Hashim Shuqairat, Hadeel Ziyada, and Shorouq Ziyada.

The kidnappings were accompanied by field interrogations and extensive searches of mobile phones and computers, as well as deliberate vandalism inside the homes of the kidnappees, and the confiscation of some of their personal belongings.

According to the sources, the campaign is part of an ongoing Israeli escalation targeting members of the Fat'h movement in Jerusalem. In recent weeks, occupation authorities have continued to summon and detain several activists and employees of official Palestinian institutions under the pretext of “working with the Palestinian Authority” in the city.

Observers described the campaign as part of a systematic policy aimed at undermining the organizational structure of the Fatah movement in occupied Jerusalem and preventing any form of Palestinian national activity in the city.

Fat'h Central Committee holds meeting in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Fat'h Central Committee convened Sunday evening at the movement’s Mobilization and Organization headquarters in Ramallah to discuss the latest developments related to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in light of the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Central Committee welcomed the initiative and emphasized the need for full compliance by all concerned parties, including the release of detainees from both sides, the immediate delivery of humanitarian, food, and medical assistance, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from all Palestinian territories, cities, and refugee camps in the Gaza Strip.

The Committee strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aerial and artillery bombardment throughout the Gaza Strip and expressed its deep pride and appreciation for the steadfastness and sacrifices of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

It also discussed internal and organizational matters of the movement and adopted several resolutions in this regard. The Committee affirmed that it will remain in permanent session to monitor developments and follow up on all efforts and initiatives related to the Palestinian cause.

The meeting further addressed several internal matters, including the approval of Dr. Nasir Al-Qudwa’s return to the Fatah movement and its Central Committee, along with the reinstatement of two other members in accordance with the Committee’s decisions.

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) after two years of genocidal war: 97 Palestinians killed, 2,688 detentions, and 742 demolitions documented

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Governorate documented the violations and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and its illegal settlers in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) since the onset of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, showing a dangerous escalation in the policy of collective punishment against Jerusalem’s residents and its holy sites.

The Governorate said in a report issued Sunday that since October 7, 2023, a total of 97 Palestinians in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) have been killed, reflecting the occupation’s continued disregard for Palestinian lives.

It added that Israeli authorities continue to withhold the bodies of 49 Palestinians from Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), in a blatant violation of the sanctity of the dead and of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the withholding of bodies and calls for respect for the human dignity of the victims.

The report documented 491 injuries resulting from the excessive use of force by Israeli occupation forces against Maqdisis (Jerusalemites). It said that these included live and rubber-coated metal bullet wounds, severe beatings, and cases of suffocation caused by tear gas, in addition to injuries among Jerusalemite workers pursued by occupation forces while trying to reach their workplaces.

In a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo, 122,784 colonists have stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque since October 7 under heavy Israeli police protection, the report said. It explained that the Israeli police imposed a morning and evening visitation system in an attempt to enforce a temporal and spatial division of the mosque and erase its Islamic identity.

The report documented 2,688 detentions across various neighborhoods and towns in Jerusalem Governorate since the beginning of the aggression, accompanied by harsh and unjust rulings issued by Israeli occupation courts. It noted that a total of 723 prison sentences were issued against the Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) detainees, along with 171 house arrest orders, 303 expulsion orders from Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Old City, and other key areas, as well as 18 travel ban orders.

The report further noted that the occupation authorities took advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the war crimes and genocide in Gaza to escalate their punitive measures against Maqdisis (Jerusalemites) and impose further collective punishments and unfair rulings, as part of a systematic effort to silence the Palestinian voice in Jerusalem.

It said that since October 7, Israeli authorities have carried out 742 demolitions and land-leveling operations in Jerusalem Governorate, most of which targeted Palestinian homes and structures under the pretext of construction without permits. The report added that the occupation authorities rarely grant building permits to Maqdisis (Jerusalemites), turning these practices into a systematic tool of Judaization aimed at emptying the city of its indigenous Palestinian residents.

The report affirmed that these figures reflect a systematic policy aimed at emptying Jerusalem of its Palestinian residents and imposing a new colonial, Judaizing reality.

It explained that the withholding of bodies constitutes a grave violation of the Geneva Conventions, while mass detentions and arbitrary rulings amount to unlawful detention prohibited under international law. The report stressed that demolition operations are considered war crimes under Article 53 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and that incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque constitute a breach of the historical status quo and a direct threat to the site’s Islamic identity.

The Governorate stressed that this report comes amid a systematic Israeli escalation against Jerusalem and its people, in an attempt to impose new facts on the ground and erase the Palestinian presence in the city, amid troubling international silence that encourages the occupation to continue its violations without accountability.

Over 38,000 Israeli violations in West Bank since October 7, 2023: Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission

RAMALLAH, October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission announced Sunday that it has documented a total of 38,359 violations committed by the Israeli occupation army and settlers against Palestinian citizens and their property in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023.

According to the report, the Israeli army was responsible for 31,205 of these incidents, while settlers carried out 7,154 attacks, which led to the killing of 33 Palestinians. These included 14 in Nablus Governorate, 12 in Ramallah and El-Beereh, 3 in Hebron, and one each in Bethlehem, Qalqilya, and Salfeet.

The report also revealed that settlers established 114 new settlement outposts during the same period – an unprecedented number – which triggered the forced displacement of 33 Palestinian Bedouin communities. These communities comprised 455 families and a total of 2,853 individuals who were forced to leave their homes.

55,000 dunums seized, 25 buffer zones established

Israel seized approximately 55,000 dunums of Palestinian land since October 2023, including 20,000 dunums under the pretext of adjusting natural reserve boundaries, and 26,000 dunums declared as “state land” in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Nablus, Ramallah, Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), and Qalqilya. An additional 1,756 dunums were confiscated via 108 military orders for the construction of security roads, military towers, and buffer zones around settlements.

The occupation also intensified efforts to fragment Palestinian land through road expansion and bypass roads meant exclusively for settlers, facilitating the connection of settlement blocs while isolating Palestinian communities.

A total of 25 buffer zones have been created around settlements, mainly in the northern West Bank: 5 in Nablus, 4 in Salfeet, 2 in Qalqilya, and 1 each in Toulkarm and Tubas. Additionally, 5 zones were imposed in both Ramallah and Bethlehem, and 1 in Hebron.

355 settlement plans and legalization of 11 outposts

The planning authorities of the Israeli government reviewed 355 structural plans for the construction of 37,415 new settlement units, covering 38,551 dunums of land. Of these, 18,801 units have already been approved, while 18,614 are still pending.

Jerusalem saw the highest concentration of plans, with 148 (44 outside the municipal boundaries and 104 within settlements inside the city), followed by Bethlehem (51), Salfeet (48), Ramallah (38), Qalqilya (20), and Nablus (19).

Israel also approved the separation of 13 settlement neighborhoods to classify them as independent settlements, and decided to establish 22 new settlements. Moreover, it legalized 11 existing outposts through government decisions, adding them to a list of 68 agricultural outposts that have received infrastructure support to solidify their presence on Palestinian land.

767 fires, 48,728 trees damaged, 33 communities displaced

Since October 2023, the Israeli military and settlers have caused 767 fires, including 221 that affected civilian property and 546 that burned agricultural fields. The fires were concentrated in Ramallah and El-Beereh (244), Nablus (214), Hebron (51), and Toulkarm (46).

The campaign of settler terrorism and army-backed displacement resulted in the uprooting of 33 Bedouin communities, composed of 455 families and 2,853 individuals. Among the latest displacements were communities in Dair 'Alla, 'Ain Ayoub, Al-Mulai'hhat, and Mughayyir Al-Dair, whose lands were taken over by settlers.

The total number of Israeli checkpoints and barriers – including permanent, temporary, and iron gates – reached 916, with more than 243 new gates installed since October 7, 2023.

Over 1,000 demolitions, 1,667 demolition orders issued

The occupation authorities carried out 1,014 demolition operations, destroying 3,679 Palestinian structures. These included 1,288 inhabited homes, 244 uninhabited homes, and 962 agricultural or commercial facilities.

The majority of demolitions occurred in Jerusalem (880), followed by Hebron (529) and Toulkarm (464).

Meanwhile, 1,667 demolition orders were issued, mostly targeting structures in Hebron, Ramallah and El-Beereh, Bethlehem, Aree'ha (Jericho), Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Nablus, and Qalqilya. Among these was a troubling case involving 22 administrative demolition orders delivered to residents of Al-Mal'ha village in eastern Bethlehem’s wilderness – a natural reserve area under the planning jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority.

Commission: West Bank turned into testing ground for colonial policies

In a press conference, Minister Mu-ayyad Sha'ban, head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, said that the occupied Palestinian territories have become a laboratory for unprecedented colonial policies over the past two years.

He emphasized that Israel, the last colonial regime in the world, is testing new methods of killing, control, and geographic manipulation, supported by racist legislation that arms settlers while stripping Palestinians of basic human rights, including the right to housing, movement, and dignity.

Sha'ban stressed that confronting this escalating colonial assault is a national responsibility that requires collective action from official institutions, civil society, political factions, youth movements, and grassroots organizations.

He concluded by saying that popular unity and collective will remain the first line of defense against displacement and annexation, and are essential to defeating Israel’s expansionist policies and ensuring the preservation of Palestinian land, identity, and historical rights.

Dozens of the illegal Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa courtyards under tight protection

Sunday 5-October-2025

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

Dozens of the illegal Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) on Sunday morning, under heavy protection from Israeli police forces.

According to Jerusalemite sources, 148 settlers entered the Mosque’s courtyards during the morning phase of the daily incursions.

The sources explained that groups of settlers entered the Mosque under police protection and performed provocative Talmudic rituals.

They also noted that police forces intensified their military measures around Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), obstructing the movement of worshippers heading to pray, stopping several individuals, and inspecting their IDs.

Meanwhile, Palestinians from 1948 occupied Palestine flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque to support its identity, maintain spiritual connection, and perform prayers. Buses departed from the city of Nazareth en route to the Mosque.

Extremist Jewish Temple groups are preparing for a series of large-scale incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. Settlement groups have called for mass storming to coincide with the Jewish holiday known as Sukkot, amid a heavy deployment of Israeli occupation forces.

According to calls published on these groups’ platforms, mobilization campaigns have been organized to increase the number of participants, offering free transportation for children and families and encouraging attendance across age groups, all in an effort to gather the largest possible number of settlers inside the holy Islamic site.

These groups aim to impose new Judaizing realities within Al-Aqsa by performing public Talmudic rituals in its courtyards, introducing so-called “holiday offerings,” and raising Israeli flags, actions described as attempts to entrench Jewish presence and enforce temporal and spatial division of the site.

Illegal Israeli settlers steal Palestinian olive crops near Nablus and continue attacks on olive groves in Salfit area

NABLUS, October 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers, on Sunday evening, stole olive crops owned by Palestinians in the villages of Al-Naqoura and Dair Sharaf, northwest of Nablus, according to local sources.

Sources said that a group of colonists raided Palestinian-owned lands in Al-Naqoura and Dair Sharaf villages and proceeded to steal olive crops before being chased out of the area by residents.

In the Salfit area, a group of colonists continued today their attacks on olive groves in the northwestern part of the village of Farkha, west of the city.

Head of the village council, Mustafa 'Hamad, told WAFA that colonists have been cutting down and destroying dozens of olive trees and herding their sheep inside agricultural lands on a daily basis, in an attempt to seize them and prevent farmers from accessing more than 75 percent of their olive groves since the establishment of a pastoral colonial outpost west of the village in October 2024.

He affirmed that the aim is to take full control of the lands and deprive farmers of their right to access their property.

He affirmed that the village council has been documenting these violations through photos and videos, urging the international community to exert pressure on the occupation to put an end to such practices.

Illegal Israeli settlers launch widespread attacks across West Bank

Sunday 5-October-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers carried out extensive assaults on Palestinian citizens, their land, and property across various areas of the West Bank, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces on Sunday.

In Ramallah, a group of the illegal Israeli settlers cut down trees on Palestinian-owned lands in the Marj Si’ area between the villages of Abu Fala'h and Turmus 'Ayya, northeast of the city.

The Al-Baydar organization reported that the attack targeted agricultural areas owned by residents of both villages as part of ongoing escalation aimed at pressuring locals and imposing new realities on the ground.

The settlers, accompanied by Israeli soldiers, also blocked farmers and landowners from harvesting olives in the village of Rantees, west of Ramallah, denying them access to the Al-Teen Al-Shami area without special entry permits.

A settler residing in an illegal outpost between Rantees and Dair Ballout cut down olive trees belonging to citizen Rami Mu'hammed Khalaf and demolished a shade structure owned by Anas 'Aabid from Rantees.

In Um Safa, north of Ramallah, settlers destroyed water tanks and stole belongings from a farm owned by citizen Basheer Abu Mu'hammed.

In Jenin, Israeli forces and settlers expelled residents of Khirbet Mas-oud from their land west of the city, claiming it was too close to a settler road and enforcing a 100-meter exclusion zone.

Another group of the illegal Israeli settlers herded their sheep through residential areas in the Al-'Auja waterfall community near Jericho.

In Qalqilya, the illegal Israeli settlers destroyed 50 olive trees in the northern part of Kafr Qaddoum.

In Nablus, armed settlers stormed lands in the towns of Dair Sharaf and Al-Naqoura, west of the city.

Settlers also stole olive harvests from lands in Wadi Al-Rababa in Silwan, in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces barred the landowners from entering the area and assaulted them.

Violations and crimes by the illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank have surged to record levels since October 7, 2023, and have continued throughout 2024 and into 2025. The UN and human rights organizations, such as B’Tselem, report that these attacks have led to casualties, mass displacement, and widespread property damage.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
