While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Martyr in Israeli drone strike on motorcycle in southern Lebanon

Wednesday 22-October-2025

BEIRUT, (PIC)

A Lebanese citizen was martyred on Wednesday morning in a drone strike by the Israeli occupation forces targeting a motorcycle in southern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle on the old cemetery road in the town of 'Ain Qana, southern Lebanon, resulting in the martyrdom of its rider.

Lebanese media platforms identified the martyr as 'Esa Karbala-i, who was killed in the drone strike that targeted his motorcycle in 'Ain Qana, located in the Iqleem El-Tuffa'h region of southern Lebanon.

The Israeli occupation army continues its near-daily attacks on the Lebanese territory, causing martyrs and injuries in numerous towns in eastern and southern Lebanon. It claims these attacks target 'Hizbullah sites and personnel to prevent their rehabilitation.

In October 2023, the Israeli occupation regime forces launched an assault on Lebanon that escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024, resulting in the martyrdom of over 4,000 people and injuring around 17,000 others.

Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, the Israeli occupation forces have violated it more than 4,500 times, leading to hundreds of martyrs and wounded.

Defying the agreement, the Israeli occupation forces continue to occupy five Lebanese hills seized during the recent war, in addition to other areas it has held for decades.

Jerusalem Governorate warns of collapse of parts of Al-Aqsa Mosque due to Israeli tunnel digging

JERUSALEM, October 22, 2025, (WAFA) -

The Jerusalem Governorate warned against the continued Israeli excavation works around Al-Aqsa Mosque and in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Adviser to the Jerusalem Governorate, Marouf Al-Rifai, warned in an interview with WAFA against the continuation of old and new Israeli excavation works under Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly the digging of tunnels linking several colonial sites. This is part of a plan to Judaize historical and Islamic landmarks in the Old City of Jerusalem, which contravenes Islamic law.

He explained that these tunnels connect what the occupation authorities call the "City of David," passing through passages constructed in the form of stone walls. Most of these tunnels were originally historical waterways that were dried up and converted into tunnels, museums, and synagogues. One of these tunnels, known as the "Jabbana Market," was transformed into a Jewish tourist trail, threatening the infrastructure under Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Al-Rifai stated that "the excavations could cause the destruction of some Palestinian landmarks, such as historic homes and ancient schools, as well as affect the soil beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque, threatening the stability of its foundations. He said, "The excavations lack a scientific methodology and constitute a violation of the status quo, confirming that they are purely politically motivated."

He emphasized that the tunnels seek to impose Israeli control over the holy sites in Jerusalem, a move that raises concerns about the future of the Holy City and its Palestinian identity. They are part of a long-term political project aimed at Judaizing the Old City and changing its features.

He pointed out that the Israeli excavations focus on destroying religious landmarks, including the walls of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding areas, in an attempt to impose Israeli control over Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. He explained that Israel is demolishing existing landmarks and altering their location in a manner consistent with the Israeli narrative.

These excavations are being carried out secretly or semi-secretly, far from any international oversight, and they affect the foundations of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its historical landmarks, threatening to undermine its architectural stability, in a Judaization effort to prove that "Jerusalem is a Jewish city."

Israeli Knesset advances bills to annex West Bank and Ma’ale Adumim colony

RAMALLAH, October 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Israeli Knesset approved, in its preliminary reading, the bill to annex the West Bank and impose Israeli sovereignty over it, proposed by Avi Maoz, head of the far-right Noam party, and the bill to impose Israeli sovereignty over the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim, proposed by Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu party.

The bill to annex the West Bank was supported by 25 MKs and opposed by 24, while the bill to annex the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim was supported by 32 MKs and opposed by nine.

The vote on the bill to annex the West Bank was held publicly, by reading out the names of MKs, rather than electronically. MKs from the Yesh Atid party, including party leader Yair Lapid, voted against the bill in an attempt to defeat it and ensure the passage of Lieberman's bill to annex the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim.

Members of Knesset from Likud, Shas, and Kahol Lavan were absent from the vote, while members of Knesset from Degel HaTorah voted against the West Bank annexation bill.

Knesset Member Yuli Edelstein supported the West Bank annexation bill, contrary to the position of his Likud party. Members of Knesset from Yisrael Beiteinu, Religious Zionism, and Agudat Yisrael also supported it, including Yitzhak Goldknopf, Yisrael Eichler, and Yaakov Tesler.

The Arab parties and the Democratic Party voted against the West Bank annexation bill, and several Yesh Atid members, who could have blocked the bill, did not enter the Knesset plenum.

In July 2025, the Knesset approved a declaration calling for the imposition of "Israeli sovereignty" in the West Bank by a majority of 71 MKs. This approval had no practical significance.

International Court of Justice orders Israel to facilitate UN humanitarian aid into Gaza

RAMALLAH, October 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The International Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday that Israel, as an occupying power, is obligated to facilitate and secure the entry of relief efforts carried out by the United Nations and its agencies, including the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The 11-judge panel added that Israel is obligated to guarantee the fulfilment of the basic needs of civilians in the Gaza Strip, including essential supplies for their survival.

President Yuji Iwasawa, during a session held in The Hague to issue an "advisory opinion" defining Israel's aid obligations, asserted that the court had not found evidence to substantiate Israel's claims about UNRWA's neutrality, claiming that a large percentage of the UN agency's employees are members of "terrorist" groups.

The decision carries "significant legal weight and moral authority," despite being an advisory opinion that is not legally binding. It comes after the United Nations asked the court to clarify Israel's obligations, as an occupying power, to ensure and facilitate the provision of urgent supplies necessary for the "survival" of Palestinians.

The situation of UNRWA was a major focus of the week-long hearings last April, in which Israel did not participate.

Although an independent report led by former French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna acknowledged in April 2024 that there were "importances related to neutrality" at UNRWA, it noted that Israel had "not yet provided substantiating evidence" for its claim that a large number of the agency's employees were members of "terrorist" organizations.

This is the third such ruling issued by the court regarding Israel's practices since the outbreak of the Israeli offensive on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

Last July, the court ruled that Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories was illegal and had previously issued a ruling ordering Israel to take all necessary measures to prevent genocide in Gaza.

'Hamas: The ICJ ruling is clear call for international action to save Gaza

Wednesday 22-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has welcomed the advisory opinion issued today by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which refuted the false claims made by the Israeli occupation apartheid regime against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

In a press statement, 'Hamas affirmed that the ruling underscores the critical humanitarian role played by UNRWA and other UN institutions in providing relief to the Palestinian people in Gaza.

'Hamas stated that the ICJ’s decision to ban the use of starvation as a weapon of war confirms that the occupation, through its deliberate starvation of Palestinians, is committing a form of genocide. The ruling also asserts that Israel, as an occupying power, must refrain from applying its domestic laws to the occupied Palestinian territories. Hamas stressed that the ruling effectively blocks all attempts to legitimize settlements or impose facts on the ground by force.

The Movement emphasized that the Court’s affirmation of Israel’s obligation to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of Palestinians in Gaza constitutes a clear call for immediate international action to ensure the entry of humanitarian aid and to prevent it from being politicized or used by Israel as a tool of coercion.

The ICJ had earlier stated that Israel is obligated to guarantee the basic needs of Palestinian civilians and must not use starvation as a method of warfare.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Court explained that Israel must facilitate the humanitarian relief efforts of the United Nations in the Palestinian territories without obstruction.

The Court further clarified that there is no evidence proving that UNRWA violated the principle of neutrality or practiced discrimination in distributing aid. It concluded that the agency plays an irreplaceable role under the current conditions.

The Court also noted that Israel failed to substantiate its allegations that a significant portion of UNRWA staff are affiliated with Hamas, asserting that such claims lack legal foundation and credible evidence.

On October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation committed acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, all in clear disregard for international appeals and ICJ orders to halt such crimes.

The genocide has resulted in more than 238,000 killed and wounded, most of them children and women. Additionally, over 9,000 people remain missing, and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals face famine, with many already having died from hunger. Massive destruction has also ravaged homes and vital infrastructure across Gaza.

UN urges more shelter aid for Gaza ahead of winter

Wednesday 22-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The United Nations has called for the acceleration and expansion of shelter aid into the Gaza Strip before the onset of winter, amid worsening humanitarian conditions and continued Israeli restrictions on aid entry.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, said that humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza are continuing to scale up their efforts in areas that were previously difficult to access.

He noted that 300 tents and 14,700 blankets have recently been distributed to displaced and vulnerable families in Khan Younus.

Haq added that UN teams have managed to bring 10,638 tons of essential supplies into the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10. However, he emphasized that the current amounts fall far short of the minimum humanitarian needs.

He urged the Israeli occupation regime to allow greater quantities of shelter and relief supplies into Gaza and to grant more permits to humanitarian organizations so they can operate freely, warning of worsening suffering for civilians as winter approaches.

Meanwhile, the World Food Program (WFP) said that aid deliveries into Gaza remain significantly below the target of 2,000 tons per day.

According to WFP data, about 750 tons of food are currently entering Gaza daily. However, this remains far below the level needed following a two-year war that has turned large parts of Gaza into rubble.

WFP spokesperson 'Abeer Etefa said in a Tuesday press briefing in Geneva, “To reach that amount, we need access to all border crossings now,” noting that WFP has not been granted access to Sala'huddeen Road, the main artery connecting northern and southern Gaza.

She added that the food supplies delivered so far are enough to feed approximately 500,000 people for two weeks. “They’re eating part of it, rationing, and keeping some for emergencies,” she said, “because they’re unsure how long the ceasefire will last or what might happen next.”

This call comes as Gaza continues to face the aftermath of a two-year Israeli campaign of genocide, which has resulted in the deaths of 68,216 Palestinians and injuries to 170,361 others, before a ceasefire agreement was reached. The deal included a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, reciprocal prisoner releases, and guaranteed humanitarian aid access to the besieged territory.

Death toll from Israeli aggression on Gaza surges to 68,234, medical sources report

GAZA, October 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 68,234, and 170,373 wounded, since October 7, 2023.

According to the Ministry, five Palestinians, including one killed in a direct Israeli attack and four whose bodies were recovered brought to Gaza hospitals over the past 24 hours (together with 4 injuries).

Thousands of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews face difficulties in reaching them due to the massive destruction.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, over 88 Palestinians have been killed and 315 others wounded, while rescue teams have recovered 436 bodies from under the rubble.

The Ministry further affirmed that 30 bodies of Palestinian previously held by Israeli authorities were handed over today through coordination by the Red Cross, bringing the total number of bodies received to 195.

The Ministry emphasized their continued handling of the bodies according to established medical procedures and protocols, in preparation for the completion of examination, documentation, and delivery to the families.

The Ministry further confirmed that several of the bodies, handed over by the Israelis, bore signs of abuse, beatings, handcuffing, and blindfolding. They noted that 57 Palestinians  have been identified by their families so far, and 54 of the bodies, who were not identified or traced, have been buried in the designated cemetery.

Mass graves, thousands of missing persons: Gaza families uncover torture and field executions by the Israeli occupation forces

Wednesday 22-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Palestinian officials and rights groups have sounded the alarm over mounting evidence of systematic torture and field executions carried out by Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) against detainees and civilians in Gaza, as thousands remain missing and unidentified bodies continue to surface.

According to the Palestinian Center for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons (PCMFDP), at least 6,000 Palestinians from Gaza have been reported missing since the start of the Israeli genocide, amid the near-total destruction and communications blackout that have severely hampered search and documentation efforts.

The center’s director, A'hmed Mas'oud, said the organization has so far documented 1,300 confirmed cases of missing persons, while field teams continue to collect data under dire conditions. He added that most of the missing are young men, underscoring the deep humanitarian and social impact of the crisis on Gaza’s already devastated population.

In a grim development, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that it has received 165 bodies from the Israeli occupation regime since the start of the genocide, many of which bear clear signs of torture, mutilation, and execution. The latest transfer included 15 bodies handed over to Nasir Medical Complex in Khan Younus.

Medical sources confirmed that the bodies arrived with attached Hebrew documents indicating they were returned from the Sde Teiman military detention facility in the Naqab (Negev) desert, a site increasingly described by survivors and rights groups as a torture and execution camp. Some of the victims’ remains had been subjected to DNA testing before their return, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Director-General, Dr. Muneer El-Bursh.

Witness testimonies and forensic examinations revealed that many of the victims had been restrained, blindfolded, and tied to hospital beds, forced to wear diapers, and exposed to severe physical abuse before death, practices consistent with evidence published by The Guardian (British newspaper) in previous investigations into Israeli detention sites.

On Wednesday, hundreds of Palestinians gathered in Dair El-Bala'h for the burial of 54 martyrs whose remains were returned by the Israeli occupation forces through the International Committee of the Red Cross. Due to extreme disfigurement and decomposition, the victims could not be identified, and they were buried in numbered graves following prayers attended by relatives and officials.

During a press conference at the burial site, the Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza Director, Isma'eel El-Thawabta, said the victims’ bodies showed unmistakable signs of brutal torture and deliberate execution, including hanging marks and gunshot wounds from close range. “These are not combat deaths,” El-Thawabta said. “They are field executions, acts of murder carried out in cold blood.”

The PGMO confirmed that the burial process followed strict documentation procedures, including photographing and cataloguing all items found with the bodies before interment.

Medical and legal experts described the findings as evidence of systematic war crimes and grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions. “What we are witnessing is not isolated abuse, it is a policy of extermination and collective punishment against prisoners and civilians alike,” said El-Bursh.

The PGMO called on the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, and global human rights organizations to launch an independent investigation into the Israeli crimes and hold those responsible, including Israeli political and military leaders, accountable for violations of international law.

Cold, neglect, and cruelty: Palestinian prisoners suffer under Israel’s harsh detention conditions

Wednesday 22-October-2025

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission revealed on Wednesday the worsening humanitarian and health conditions faced by Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli occupation apartheid regime prisons, amid what it described as deliberate medical neglect and systematic abuse by the prison administration.

In a press statement following a lawyer’s visit to the Negev desert prison, the commission said prisoners are suffering from the spread of skin diseases due to a lack of hygiene and cleaning supplies. Prison authorities, it added, intentionally deprive detainees of basic health necessities.

According to the statement, the food served to prisoners is poor in both quality and quantity, compounding their daily suffering and weakening their overall health.

The commission further warned that prisoners are enduring freezing temperatures without access to winter clothing or warm blankets. Many, it said, are forced to stay awake through long, cold nights, tormented by both the chill and the neglect.

In addition, the report noted that Israeli repression units continue to storm prisoners’ cells, assault them violently, and confiscate their personal belongings as part of a broader policy of intimidation and collective punishment. Despite serious health conditions among some detainees, the prison administration continues to deny them proper medical treatment.

The commission cautioned that the humanitarian situation in the Negev prison is deteriorating rapidly and called on international and human rights organizations to intervene immediately to halt these violations.

It held the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for the prisoners’ physical and psychological well-being.

IOFs assault two young men in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem); illegal settlers uproot 60 olive trees

Wednesday 22-October-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli police forces assaulted two young Palestinian men in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), kidnapping one of them, as they continued their incursions across the occupied West Bank and attacks on Palestinians. In a separate incident, a group of the illegal Israeli settlers uprooted dozens of olive trees.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) raided the town of El-Ram, north of Occupied Jerusalem. According to the Jerusalem Governorate, large numbers of Israeli occupation soldiers stormed the area, searched vehicles, and disrupted traffic.

The IOFs also set up a military checkpoint in the town of El-Khadhir, south of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem). Another checkpoint was moved to the Balloua Junction between the old and new parts of the town, where soldiers stopped and searched vehicles and checked citizens’ IDs.

In the village of Doura El-Qari’, north of Ramallah, Israeli military vehicles stormed several neighborhoods. No injuries or arrests were reported.

In another raid, the IOFs entered the village of Burin, south of Nablus, where they set up a checkpoint at one of the entrances and blocked Palestinian vehicles from passing. The IOFs reportedly forced shop owners to close and evacuated two families from their homes, converting the houses into military posts.

In Qalqilya, Israeli forces raided several homes in the Kafr Saba neighborhood. They also stormed Bait Ummar town, north of El-Khaleel (Hebron) in the southern West Bank.

Local sources said a group of settlers attacked the outskirts of Burqa village, east of Ramallah, attempting to storm the area before retreating. No injuries or material damage were reported.

In Susya village, in the Masafir Yatta area south of al-Khalil, settlers also attacked Palestinian farmland and uprooted 60 olive trees.

Media activist Osama Makhamra said the settlers destroyed the trees, owned by brothers 'Abdullah and Mu'hammed Ayoub 'Ubaid, cut down fencing around the land, and filled in a water well under construction.

They also released their cows and sheep into grape vineyards and other trees in the Khillet El-Hums area, near Iskaka, southeast of Yatta.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers have carried out 158 attacks against olive harvesters since the beginning of this season. Of these, 17 were carried out by Israeli forces, while 141 were perpetrated by settlers.

The attacks have included violent physical assaults, arrests, movement restrictions, and intimidation tactics, including direct gunfire, as recently occurred in Tubas Governorate.

Israeli forces demolish home of Palestinian prisoner west of Salfit

RAMALLAH, October 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli forces on Wednesday began demolishing a Palestinian house in the town of Bruqin, west of Salfit, according to local sources.

UNRWA: Surge in settler attacks paving the way for de facto annexation of the West Bank

Wednesday 22-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned on Wednesday that the alarming escalation in settler violence and settlement expansion in the West Bank is leading to the forced displacement of Palestinians and setting the stage for the de facto annexation of the Palestinian territory.

Roland Friedrich, Director of UNRWA Affairs in the West Bank, stated in a post on X that the increasing settler attacks and expanding settlements have “pushed vulnerable Palestinian communities to abandon their lands under increasingly coercive conditions.”

Friedrich cautioned that “the rise in Israeli settler violence, settlement expansion, demolitions, and evictions has resulted in the forced displacement of Palestinians, paving the way for further annexation.”

He highlighted that forced displacement and destruction continue in the northern West Bank, pointing specifically to the evacuation of refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams, with residents barred from returning. These events followed a wide-scale military operation launched by Israeli forces on January 21.

Friedrich also emphasized that “Israel’s anti-UNRWA legislation has led to the closure of UN schools and the effective expulsion of international staff,” referencing increasing restrictions on the agency’s operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He firmly rejected the idea that “easing pressure on Gaza under a ceasefire agreement should be used as an opportunity to tighten Israeli control elsewhere,” asserting that “UNRWA has remained on the ground throughout this escalation to continue delivering its services—just as it has done during past crises.”

The UN official stressed that “the future of Gaza and the West Bank is interconnected,” noting that the agency “is ready to work with all parties to achieve a comprehensive outcome that could lay the foundation for peace and stability across the Palestinian territories, the region, and for future generations.”

These comments come amid a sharp escalation in Israeli military operations in the West Bank since October 7, 2023. According to Palestinian sources, at least 1,056 Palestinians have been killed, nearly 10,000 injured, and over 20,000 arrested, including 1,600 children.

Earlier today, Israel’s Knesset passed two preliminary bills aiming to impose Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and Ma’ale Adumim, despite diplomatic objections and mounting international pressure to halt such measures.

IOFs seal off 400 dunums in Masafir Yatta after the illegal Israeli settlers seize Palestinian cave

Wednesday 22-October-2025

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) on Wednesday declared around 400 dunums of land in the Saroura area of Masafir Yatta, south of El-Khaleel (Hebron), a closed military zone following the seizure of a cave belonging to Palestinian resident, Jameel El-'Umour, by illegal Israeli settlers.

The decision came after local villagers and activists demanded that the illegal Israeli settlers be removed, but the IOFs instead expelled Palestinians and solidarity activists from the area while allowing settlers to remain inside the cave.

Local anti-settlement activist, Osama Makhamra, told El-'Araby El-Jadeed news website that the Saroura area lies between several villages and hamlets in Masafir Yattaa, bordered by Khirbet El-Mufaqara to the west, Khillet El-Dhab’a to the southeast, and the village of El-Tuwani to the north. The illegal settlement of Havat Ma’on sits to the east and northeast.

He explained that the area has effectively been off-limits to Palestinians since before October 7, 2023, due to repeated settler attacks and its proximity to the settlement. Despite the risks, local residents continue to visit daily to tend to their farmlands.

Makhamra added that settlers recently pitched a tent atop a hill in Saroura and have been stationed there around the clock, signaling an attempt to solidify their presence and expand their control over lands belonging to the al-Amour family.

The area spans hundreds of dunums, with Khirbet El-Mufaqara being the nearest inhabited community to the west, home to about 150 Palestinians living in nearly 20 caves.

According to Makhamra, settlers’ ambitions in Saroura are part of a broader expansion plan to link the settlements of Ma’on and Avigal by taking over lands in the areas between them, including El-Rakiz, Khillet El-Dhab’a, and Saroura.

In recent days, the illegal Israeli settlers carried out similar assaults, uprooting grape and olive saplings, demolishing and stealing tents, and vandalizing vineyards and private property belonging to Palestinian residents such as Ma'hmoud Abu Tu'hfa and Mu'hammed 'Ubaid, in what activists describe as an organized campaign to take over more land in Masafir Yatta.

Fouad El-'Umour, coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committees in Masafir Yatta, said the latest events form part of a systematic Israeli plan to forcibly displace Palestinians through “grazing settlement policies,” legal pretexts, and daily harassment by settlers backed by the IOFs and Israeli police.

He described the settler’s takeover of al-Amour’s cave in Saroura as a “dangerous precedent,” noting that the settler prevented activists from filming the incident under the false claim of “filming his wife.” Al-Amour said such excuses are part of a new Israeli tactic to fabricate legal justifications and conceal the colonial nature of these actions.

According to data released by the Palestinian Government Media Office, settler violence in the occupied West Bank has sharply escalated since Israel launched its genocide in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. Settlers have carried out 7,154 attacks against Palestinians and their property, resulting in the killing of 33 people up to date

Palestine welcomes ICJ ruling on Israel’s obligations in occupied territories

RAMALLAH, October 22, 2025 (WAFA) –

The State of Palestine welcomed the landmark ruling by the international court of Justice on the obligations of Israel in relation to the Presence and activities of the united nations and other international organizations and third states in and in relation to the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Court concluded that Israel has blocked humanitarian aid to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip in violation of its obligations as an occupying Power and a member of the United Nations, and in violation of its obligation not to impede the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

The Court concluded that the limited aid Israel has allowed in has not alleviated the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip. The. Court recalled that Israel has also violated its obligation to respect the prohibition of use of starvation as a method of war and the forcible transfer and deportations of the Palestinian people and affirmed that Palestinians that have been evacuated should be transferred back to their homes.

The Court rejected Israel’s campaign of lies against UNRWA, that Israel has not substantiated its allegations and that the evidence before it  confirms that impartiality and neutrality of UNRWA, and insisted that UNRWA can not be replaced. Israel is prohibited from taking actions against UN, including, UNRWA contrary to its obligations as a Member of the UN, and to respect inviolability of UN premises and not interfere with them. Israel is under an obligation to agree and  facilitate relief schemes by UN, including UNRWA, to the Palestinian people. Israel is also obliged to respect the right of Palestinian detainees and allow them access to ICRC.

The Court reaffirmed that Israel enjoys no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and is not entitled to decide unilaterally with respect to the presence and activities of UN, third States and other organizations in occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.

This ruling comes in the context of Israel’s genocidal war against the Palestinian people. Notwithstanding  the recent declaration of a ceasefire, Israel is still using starvation as a method of war and weaponizing aid.

This ruling makes very clear that Israel must cease these illegal policies and that states have an obligation to bring Israel into compliance with its obligations in this regard. Israel must immediately lift the unlawful ban on UNRWA and allow all other international organizations invited by Palestine to operate freely and safely in Gaza and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.

The State of Palestine calls on Israel, the illegal occupant, all States and the international community at large to uphold their legal obligations and to implement the Court‘s ruling as well as previous  rulings. Adhering to these advisory opinions and to international law is the only path towards ending the suffering of the Palestinian people, achieving peace and security in the region and worldwide

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
