Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, based on the reliable data reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza:

By July 20, 2025, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 72,292+.   

This includes the accounted for deaths (58,895) and those who are still missing under the rubble (an estimate of at least 13,397+). 

By July 20, 2025, the documented injuries exceeded 140,980.

By July 20, 2025, according to news report, 1,005 Palestinians who were killed, 6,959 who were injured, and 12,752*, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023.

Note About the Missing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip:

On February 26, 2025, the Palestinian Center for Political and Development Studies announced that the number of the missing in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 14,000 people, including 2,000-3,000 held in Israeli occupation prisons, without releasing any information on their fate.

"وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا" (النِّسَاءُ ، 4: 93).

"إِنْ أَحْسَنتُمْ أَحْسَنتُمْ لِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ أَسَأْتُمْ فَلَهَا ۚ فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ الْآخِرَةِ لِيَسُوءُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَلِيَدْخُلُوا الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوهُ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَلِيُتَبِّرُوا مَا عَلَوْا تَتْبِيراً ‎(الإسْرَاءُ ، 17: 7).

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

Gaza: Hospitals receive 130 martyrs, death toll climbs to 58,895

During the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 130 civilians, as well as 495 people suffering from different injuries (including 94 aid seekers), following Israeli attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry on Sunday morning.

Accordingly, a total of 8,066 people have been killed and 28,939 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025.

The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 58,895 martyrs, including 922 aid seekers who were killed at or near US-backed distribution points, the health ministry said.

The Ministry added that the total number of the wounded also surged to 140,980 people, including 5,861 aid seekers.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more martyrs who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

 An Israeli genocidal airstrike kills Al-Nusayrat police chief, 'Omar 'Aqi,l and 11 of his family members

Gaza’s General Directorate of Police said on Saturday that Colonel 'Omar 'Aqil, police chief of Al-Nusayrat, was assassinated along with his family by an Israeli genocidal air strike on his home in Al--Zawayida town, in central Gaza.

The aerial attack on 'Aqil’s house claimed the lives of 11 members of his family, according to the Police Directorate.

The Police Directorate mourned 'Aqil and called on the international community and the UN to provide Gaza’s police personnel with protection in accordance with the international law.

Local media and authorities described Saturday as “one of the deadliest days of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip,” saying that a total of 133 Palestinians were martyred in different Israeli attacks, including 38 aid seekers near or at US-backed distribution points.

Health authorities also announced the death of three children from malnutrition yesterday.

The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Sunday, to carry out deadly attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.

According to local media sources, Israeli forces also continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and displace families in the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces have killed and injured dozens of aid seekers in US-backed distribution areas since the early morning hours.

73 of those slain aid seekers and over 150 others suffering from injuries, many in critical condition, arrived today at different hospitals, the Ministry said.

The Israeli army also bombed tents sheltering displaced families in Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younus in southern Gaza, killing seven people, including a girl child, and injuring others.

Civil defense workers suffered injuries when Israeli forces attacked them in Al-Qarara area in northern Khan Younus.

Two kids also died of injuries they sustained on Saturday evening in an Israeli strike on a tent in Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younus.

Israeli tanks also fired live rounds and projectiles at a gathering of citizens in al-Tina area of southern Khan Younus, killing two of them and injuring 20 others.

Casualties were also reported, including martyrs, after Israeli drones dropped bombs on civilians near the Sheikh Radwan pond in Gaza City.

4-year-old Razan Abu Zahir was pronounced dead today at the Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital due to her suffering from severe malnutrition and hunger.

Dozens of people were also martyred or injured in Israeli attacks on aid seekers near US-backed distribution points in southern and central Gaza.

The Israeli army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women.

Meanwhile, several Palestinians in Gaza were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks.

The death toll from the deadly Israeli attack this morning on Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid in the Al-Sudaniya area, northwest of Gaza City, has risen to 58, with at least 60 others wounded, according to medical reports on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses and WAFA correspondent confirmed that Israeli forces opened fire on civilians gathered to receive desperately needed aid for their starved families. The victims were unarmed and waiting in line when the gunfire erupted.

The bodies of many of those killed remain in the streets, as rescue efforts are hindered by ongoing Israeli fire and the risk of further attacks.

Medical sources reported on Saturday that the total number of Palestinians killed while attempting to access humanitarian aid has reached 891, with more than 5,754 injured since the beginning of the Israeli campaign against aid seekers.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 58,765 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 140,485 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

14 Palestinians were massacred and others injured today, Sunday, following an Israeli genocidal airstrike on the University College building that shelters displaced families, in the west of Khan Younus City, in southern Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza, while ignoring all international ceasefire appeals and the binding order over its actions in Gaza which was issued by the International Court of Justice.

Israel’s genocide has killed and injured more than 195,000 civilians, most of them children and women, and left over 11,000 others missing.

Seven killed, several injured in Israeli strike on displacement tents in Khan Younus; new evacuation orders issued in Dair El-Bala'h

GAZA, July 20, 2025 (WAFA) –

Seven civilians, including a child, were killed and several others wounded today, Sunday, after Israeli occupation forces bombed tents sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younus city in southern Gaza, in a new crime added to the ongoing record of Israeli violations against civilians.

In a significant field development, the Israeli army on Sunday issued new forced evacuation orders for areas in Dair El-Bala'h Governorate in central Gaza, marking the first such directive since the start of the ongoing aggression. The orders apply to all individuals in the southwestern part of the city, including those living in tents, specifically in blocks 130, 132–134, 136–139, and 2351. The move has sparked fears of a renewed military escalation in the already overcrowded and heavily displaced region.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 58,895. At least 140,980 others have also been wounded.

The ministry added that since dawn today, a total of 73 aid seekers have been killed, including 67 in northern Gaza, with over 150 injuries, some of which are in critical condition.

Medical sources explained that since the resumption of the aggression following the ceasefire on March 18, the number of civilians killed has reached 8,066, while the number of wounded has climbed to 28,939.

Many victims remain trapped under rubble or in the streets, with rescue and ambulance teams unable to reach them due to heavy bombardment and the dangerous conditions on the ground.

Israeli forces continue to commit crimes against civilians in Gaza, as warnings intensify over an escalating humanitarian catastrophe. With health systems collapsing, living conditions deteriorating, and repeated attacks on shelters and humanitarian aid centers, the situation remains critical across the Strip.

12 Palestinians killed as Israeli occupation forces target aid seekers across Gaza

At least 12 Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Sunday as Israeli occupation forces continued to target civilians waiting for humanitarian aid in different parts of the Gaza Strip.

According to WAFA correspondents, ten people were killed and others injured when Israeli forces shelled a group of aid seekers in the Al-Soudaniya area, located in northern Gaza.

Two additional civilians were killed in a separate strike near the Al-Shakoush aid distribution center, north of Rafa'h in the southern part of the territory.

Medical sources reported that as of Saturday, the total number of Palestinians killed while attempting to receive humanitarian aid has risen to 891, with more than 5,754 others injured.

The Israeli occupation army issued new displacement orders on Sunday, demanding the evacuation of additional areas in Dair El-Bala'h, located in the central Gaza Strip, signaling a possible expansion of its ground offensive in the region.

The warning, accompanied by a map, outlines specific zones targeted for evacuation. These areas include makeshift camps housing displaced Palestinians who fled earlier military attacks in other parts of Gaza.

This move follows a pattern of repeated evacuation orders issued by the Israeli occupation military since March, with dozens of similar alerts previously delivered in both northern and southern Gaza.

4-year-old girl dies of malnutrition in Gaza amid ongoing famine due to Israeli blockade

A four-year-old girl has died from severe malnutrition and hunger in the Gaza Strip, as the humanitarian situation in the enclave continues to deteriorate due to the total Israeli siege imposed on the region.

Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Dair El-Bala'h confirmed that the girl, identified as Razan Abu Zahir, passed away on Sunday due to complications arising from acute malnutrition.

Hospitals across Gaza are currently overwhelmed, treating hundreds of patients—both children and adults—suffering from extreme exhaustion and hunger-related illnesses. Medical staff report that the healthcare system is on the verge of collapse, with a severe shortage of hospital beds, medicine, and essential supplies.

According to medical officials, an estimated 17,000 children in Gaza are suffering from acute malnutrition. Many are arriving at hospitals exhibiting symptoms such as physical collapse, memory loss, and severe fatigue—direct consequences of prolonged hunger.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) had previously warned of a sharp rise in child malnutrition. Between March and June, UNRWA’s health centers conducted nearly 74,000 screenings for children under the age of five. These screenings revealed approximately 5,500 cases of severe acute malnutrition and over 800 classified as the most critical.

UNRWA attributes the worsening crisis to the ongoing Israeli blockade of Gaza, which has drastically limited access to food, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid.

Six Palestinians killed, others injured in Israeli strikes on northern Gaza

Six Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Sunday following a series of Israeli airstrikes and shelling targeting Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip.

According to medical sources, six civilians were confirmed killed in various air raids launched since dawn across Gaza City and the North Gaza district. Among the victims were three people who were killed when Israeli drones dropped bombs near the Sheikh Radhwan pool area, located in the northern part of Gaza City.

In addition to the airstrikes, Israeli forces blew up several residential homes in the Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.

Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelled eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City, coinciding with gunfire from Israeli naval vessels targeting Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Al-Qarara, west of Khan Younus, in southern Gaza.

IOFs kidnap several fishermen off Gaza coast

Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) kidnapped several Palestinian fishermen from the shores of Gaza City as they were attempting to catch fish on Saturday evening, amid the ongoing famine and unprecedented starvation sweeping the Gaza Strip.

According to local sources, the fishermen were fishing in the Gaza port basin about 100 meters offshore when an Israeli warship approached and arrested them.

Zakariya Bakr, coordinator of the Fishermen’s Committees at the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, reported that Israeli naval vessels kidnapped five Palestinian fishermen from their boats while they were fishing near the shore.

Bakr added that the Israeli vessels threw some of the fishermen into the sea after detaining them, while the others were taken to an unknown location. He also noted that Israeli forces fired heavily toward the shoreline.

The Israeli military has imposed a full maritime blockade on Gaza from its northern to southern borders, preventing fishermen from accessing the sea. This has led to the killing of dozens since the start of the genocide campaign in October 2023.

A week ago, a spokesperson for the Israeli army announced the complete closure of Gaza’s coastline to Palestinians, now in the 21st consecutive month of war, citing “security reasons.” He said addressing the Strip’s inhabitants, “We remind you that strict security restrictions have been imposed on the maritime area adjacent to the Gaza Strip, and entry to the sea is prohibited.”

The Gaza coastline is now heavily patrolled by Israeli warships, which conduct daily shooting and shelling operations targeting Palestinians along the coastal strip. Some vessels come dangerously close to shore, especially with tens of thousands of displaced people sheltering in the Gaza port area.

Supported by unwavering US backing, Israel is waging a genocide against Gaza, which, according to the Ministry of Health, has so far resulted in more than 58,765 martyrs, over 140,485 injuries of varying severity, and more than 11,000 missing persons. The famine has already claimed dozens of lives, while over two million Palestinians endure forced displacement under catastrophic conditions.

Several children suffocate from tear gas during Israeli raid on Bait La'hm (Bethlehem)-area town

Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), July 20, 2025 (WAFA) –

Several Palestinian children suffocated from tear gas suffocation on Sunday evening during an Israeli military raid on the town of Tiqua', southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), according to a local official.

Mayor of Tiqua', Tayseer Abu Mufri'h, told WAFA that Israeli forces attacked a group of children playing football near the municipality building, firing stun grenades and tear gas canisters, causing several of the children to suffocate due to tear gas inhalation.

Earlier in the evening, Israeli forces stormed the town of Tiqua', conducting raids and deploying across several residential neighborhoods, sparking tension and fear among residents.

UN: 69 Palestinian communities displaced in West Bank since 2023 due to settler violence

RAMALLAH, July 20, 2025 (WAFA) –

The United Nations revealed today that at least 2,895 Palestinians have been displaced from 69 communities across the West Bank since the beginning of 2023. The displacement is attributed to a coercive environment marked by a sharp increase in Israeli settler violence and movement restrictions.

According to a statement by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Palestine, the majority of the displaced belong to pastoral and Bedouin communities. OCHA emphasized that the intensified settler activity has created intolerable living conditions, forcing families to abandon their homes and land.

Of the displaced families, 45 percent were from Ramallah Governorate—representing 1,309 individuals. Other heavily affected areas include Al-Khaleel (Hebron), Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), Nablus, Toubas, Salfeet, Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), and Aree'ha (Jericho). OCHA also pointed out that nearly one-third of those displaced in 2025 so far were from the Jordan Valley region.

OCHA documented a surge in settler attacks between July 8 and 14 alone, reporting at least 30 incidents targeting Palestinian civilians, resulting in casualties, property damage, or both.

Data from the Palestinian Authority’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission further revealed that over 2,153 settler assaults occurred in the first half of 2025. Israeli occupation forces set fire to several homes Sunday evening in Nour Shams refugee camp, east of Toulkarm, as part of an ongoing military onslaught and siege that has now entered its 162nd consecutive day.

Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces set fire to several homes in Al-Manshiya neighborhood of the camp, amid a wide deployment of military vehicles and infantry units that have taken over civilian homes, turning them into military outposts after forcibly evicting residents. Soldiers have also been firing live ammunition at anyone attempting to approach the camp.

In recent weeks, the Nour Shams refugee camp has been subjected to widespread demolitions, with dozens of residential buildings destroyed. These operations are part of an Israeli plan to demolish 106 structures in the Nur Shams and Tulkarem camps, including 48 buildings already leveled in Nur Shams alone, resulting in vast destruction and the carving of wide roads that have fragmented the camp’s neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers continued large-scale demolition work in Toulkarm refugee camp, which began last week, targeting more residential buildings at a rapid pace.

This escalation comes as the siege on Tulkarem Camp enters its 175th day. The Israeli plan includes the demolition of 104 buildings comprising around 400 housing units.

In recent weeks, several neighborhoods in the camp have been severely affected, leaving thousands of families homeless.

The ongoing offensive has led to the forced displacement of over 5,000 families, more than 25,000 Palestinians, from the Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps.

Over 600 buildings have been completely destroyed, while 2,573 homes have sustained partial damage. Both camps remain sealed off with barricades, turned into desolate zones, with residents barred from reaching their homes or recovering belongings, as Israeli forces continue to fire live rounds at anyone who comes near.

For the 174th consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have maintained a sweeping campaign of destruction and forced displacement in Toulkarm City and its two refugee camps, Toulkarm and Nour Shams, while the international community still turns a blind eye to such Israeli violations.

According to local sources, the IOF continued this morning to carry out demolition and detonation operations in Toulkarm refugee camp, further spreading scenes of rubble and destruction.

In recent weeks, the IOFs focused its demolitions in the neighborhoods of Al-Murabba’ah, Abul-Foul, Al-Shuhada, and Al-'Hamam, where hundreds of families have lost their homes entirely.

Meanwhile, the besieged Nour Shams refugee camp is also seeing a severe Israeli escalation, with Israeli forces deliberately setting fire to citizens’ homes, especially in the Jabel Al-Nasr area.

Today’s destruction operations in Toulkarm and Nour Shams are part of the Israeli occupation’s plan to destroy the entire camps of Toulkarm and Nour Shams. Thousands of families have been forced by the Israeli army to leave the camps during this ongoing demolition campaign.

This ongoing aggression has resulted in the forced displacement of more than 5,000 families comprising over 25,000 individuals, while official statistics report that more than 600 buildings were completely destroyed and over 2,500 homes sustained partial damage. Additionally, the IOF has completely sealed off the entrances of the two camps, turning them into nearly lifeless areas and opening fire at anyone attempting to reach their homes.

In Toulkarm City, the IOFs continues to carry out around-the-clock military operations in its markets and main streets, raiding homes and stores and restricting the movement of citizens and vehicles.

The IOFs have already turned the city’s Nablus street into a military base after seizing several residential buildings there and forcibly displacing their inhabitants, particularly in its northern part, which is near Toulkarm refugee camp.

In a separate development, the IOFs set up today makeshift checkpoints on roads leading to the entrances of some villages around the city, which obstructed the movement of local residents and vehicles.

Israeli occupation soldiers reportedly detained a citizen for several hours at a checkpoint near Shawawra town, east of Toulkarm, before releasing him later.

Sources told WAFA that the forces were heavily deployed across several areas and neighborhoods, where they fired tear gas and sound bombs indiscriminately. However, no injuries were reported.

Israeli soldiers raided multiple homes and turned their rooftops into military observation posts, using them to monitor residents’ movements as part of efforts to impose tighter control over the town.

The raid is part of an ongoing series of Israeli violations in towns and villages across the Bethlehem governorate, carried out under a broader policy aimed at entrenching military control and restricting Palestinian life.

Palestinians injured, kidnapped amid IOFs raids and settler violence in the West Bank

The occupied West Bank witnessed on Saturday evening a series of simultaneous Israeli attacks that included raids, arrests, and assaults carried out by the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) and extremist settlers in several areas. Those incidents resulted in injuries and material damage to Palestinian property.

According to local sources, a young man suffered a bullet injury when Israeli occupation forces opened fire at local residents in Kafr 'Iqab town, north of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

In northern Al-Khaleel, the IOFs kidnapped two young men and one child and attacked local residents with tear gas canisters and stun grenades in 'Hal'houl town.

Meanwhile, a horde of armed settlers stormed, under military protection, the Old City of al-Khalil and streets near Al-Ibraheemi Mosque while chanting racist slurs. The IOF reportedly closed roads and restricted the movement of local residents during the presence of settlers in the area.

In the northern Jordan Valley, settlers escalated their attacks by setting fire to about 30 bales of hay belonging to farmer 'Ali Abul-Kabbash, in Khirbet 'Himsa hamlet, causing estimated losses of around 18,000 shekels.

A few days after armed settlers rampaged through the Bedouin herding community of al-Malih, killing and injuring dozens of sheep belonging to local villagers, they stormed the same hamlet again. No information has yet emerged regarding casualties or assaults during this last settler raid.

In southern Nablus, a 19-year-old young man suffered multiple injuries when a horde of settlers savagely assaulted him in the Jabal Qamis area of Baita town. He was rushed to the hospital for medical assistance.

In western Ramallah, a group of armed settlers set fire to a house under construction in Ni’lin town and beat his owner, injuring him in his head.

Local sources said that the house sustained considerable damage in the arson attack, adding that those settlers also opened fire at local residents as they tried to fend them off.

According to local sources, the IOFs bulldozed swaths of land belonging to a Palestinian citizen at the main entrance of Idthna town, destroying grapevines, lemon trees and barbed wire fences.

Israeli bulldozers also worked on other plots of land nearby, purportedly to locate water pipelines belonging to the Israeli water company Mekorot.

In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), a video circulated on the internet showed extremist settlers launching physical and verbal attacks on Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) young employees working in a mall.

According to local sources, the land affected is located at the main entrance to the town and belongs to Palestinian resident Jihad Tmeizi. The bulldozers destroyed grape and lemon trees, damaged barbed wire fences, and leveled additional plots in the same area.

The Israeli forces claimed the bulldozing was conducted under the pretext of searching for water pipelines linked to the Israeli water company Mekorot.

In dangerous move, Israel orders seizure of Palestinian properties near Al-Aqsa Mosque

In a dangerous escalation, outgoing Israeli Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Heritage, Meir Porush, has issued an order to seize Palestinian-owned properties in the Bab Al-Silsila (Chain Gate) neighborhood, one of the main entrances to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

The decision targets homes and commercial shops along the historic Bab al-Silsila Road, though no specific details were released regarding the number of properties or the identities of their owners. The area is part of Jerusalem's Old City and is home to longstanding Palestinian properties dating back to the Ayyubid, Mamluk, and Ottoman eras.

Israeli media reports indicate that Porush’s decision was issued on the eve of his resignation, which stemmed from political rifts between ultra-Orthodox parties and the Israeli government over military service exemptions for religious Jews. Observers believe the move was politically motivated, aimed at appeasing far-right religious constituents.

Porush defended the order by referencing what he termed the “return of the Old City to the people of Israel in 1967.” He claimed that properties in the Jewish Quarter were previously seized for rehabilitation by a government-affiliated company. However, he acknowledged that the current order has not yet been implemented on the ground, although it appears on an Israeli seizure map.

This includes forced evictions, settlement expansion, and infrastructure projects such as the Israeli rail line that cuts through Palestinian neighborhoods.

The governorate warned that the planned seizures could turn Bab Al-Silsila into a closed settler corridor, exclusively used for settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. This would severely restrict access for Muslim worshippers and effectively impose a blockade on Islamic and Christian presence in the Old City.

According to the governorate, the current plan to seize approximately 20 properties is likely just the beginning of a broader scheme aimed at linking the Jewish Quarter with surrounding settler outposts—an effort to isolate the Old City from its Palestinian surroundings and permanently alter its character.

UNRWA: One million children starving in Gaza amid Israeli blockade

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that over one million children in Gaza are currently suffering from hunger due to the ongoing Israeli blockade.

In a statement released on Sunday, UNRWA accused Israeli authorities of deliberately starving civilians in Gaza, including a staggering number of children.

The agency called for the immediate lifting of the blockade and urgent humanitarian access, demanding the entry of food, medicine, and essential supplies needed for survival.

UNRWA further warned that the rate of malnutrition among children under the age of five has sharply increased between March and June this year, directly linked to the tightened siege on the Gaza Strip.

According to the agency, its health centers and medical points conducted nearly 74,000 screenings for malnutrition during this period. These screenings revealed approximately 5,500 cases of severe acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of very severe acute malnutrition.

PGMO affirmed that the Israeli regime bans the entry of humanitarian and relief aid, infant formula, fuel supplies and other vital needs, imposing a tight blockade on the population.

“The Gaza Strip is on the brink of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe amid ongoing mass killings and widespread starvation affecting over 2.4 million people, including 1.1 million children,” GMO warned.

PGMO also accused the world of “watching the systematic slaughter of Gaza —through starvation and extermination — while failing to take action,” highlighting that the Palestinian territory “is facing the largest mass massacre of modern times.”

On Saturday evening, Gaza’s health ministry reported an unprecedented number of Palestinians of all ages arriving at hospitals severely exhausted.

In another statement today, the health ministry warned that the famine in Gaza reached catastrophic levels threatening the lives of more than two million people amid ongoing Israeli blockade.

The health ministry accused the Israeli occupation of using starvation as a weapon in its genocidal war on Gaza that has been ongoing for 21 months.

“More than 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.1 million children, are facing the risk of death due to hunger and the lack of essential supplies,” the ministry said.

The ministry pointed out that 60,000 infants are deprived of baby formula, while 60,000 pregnant women suffer from severe malnutrition.
