initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli
genocidal war on Gaza
Strip is 74,778. This includes the accounted for deaths (61,722) and those who are still missing under the rubble (an estimate of at least 13,056+).
*** Note about the number of Palestinians, who were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces in the Wet Bank: Palestinian Prisoners’ institutions reported that 662 Palestinians, including 39 children and 12 women, were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, including Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), during July 2025. The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), and Al Dhameer Association for Human Rights stated in a report issued Sunday that the total number of kidnappings of Palestinians in the West Bank, since the start of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, has risen to more than 18,500, including over 570 women and about 1,500 children. Source: Palestine Information Center, August 10, 2025. *** Note About the Missing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip: On February 26, 2025, the Palestinian Center for Political and Development Studies announced that the number of the missing in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 14,000 people, including 2,000-3,000 held in Israeli occupation prisons, without releasing any information on their fate. ***

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

In his warning to Israel, Guterres said he was “gravely concerned about credible information of violations by Israeli armed and security forces” against Palestinians in several prisons, a detention center and a military base. “Cases documented by the United Nations indicate patterns of sexual violence such as genital violence, prolonged forced nudity and repeated strip searches conducted in an abusive and degrading manner,” Guterres wrote. Because Israel has denied access to UN monitors, it has been “challenging to make a definitive determination” about patterns, trends and the systematic use of sexual violence by its forces, the UN chief said, urging Israel’s government “to take the necessary measures to ensure immediate cessation of all acts of sexual violence, and make and implement specific time-bound commitments.” He explained these commitments should include unimpeded access for UN monitors, investigations of sexual abuse incidents, and issuing clear orders and codes of conduct for military and security forces that prohibit sexual violence. *** UNRWA: 40,000 children killed or injured in Gaza genocide Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General, reported that more than 40,000 children in the Gaza Strip have been killed or injured due to aerial bombardments and shelling since the start of the Israeli genocidal war. Lazzarini pointed out that at least 100 children have died from malnutrition and starvation amid the ongoing Israeli siege. The Commissioner-General further noted that at least 17,000 children in Gaza have been either separated from their families or are without any basic facilities, and that nearly one million children are suffering from severe psychological trauma and are unable to attend school. Since 7 October 2023, Israel, backed by the United States, has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, involving mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, disregarding international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the assault. The genocide has resulted in over 215,000 Palestinians killed or injured, most of whom are women and children; more than 11,000 are missing, and hundreds of thousands are displaced. Famine has claimed many lives, mostly children, and widespread devastation has erased most cities and regions of the Strip from the map. *** UN human rights experts accuse Israel of medical genocide in Gaza NEW YORK, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – UN human rights experts said on Wednesday that the Israel's deliberate destruction of Gaza's healthcare system amounts to "medical genocide," accusing Israel of deliberately attacking and starving healthcare workers, paramedics, and hospitals to eliminate medical care in the besieged enclave. "As human beings and UN experts, we cannot remain silent in the face of the war crimes being committed before our eyes in Gaza," said Tlaleng Mofokeng, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health, and Francesca Albanese, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967. "In addition to witnessing an ongoing genocide, we are also witnessing a medical genocide, a contributing factor in the deliberate creation of conditions designed to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, which constitutes an act of genocide," they added. The experts warned that the apartheid regime targeting Palestinians in the occupied territory and the ongoing attacks on Gaza's healthcare system are exhausting the last remaining resources in the besieged and devastated enclave. .They said, "Health and care workers have been repeatedly targeted, detained, and tortured, and now, like the rest of the population, they are starving." The United Nations reported that health and care workers have fainted due to lack of food and hunger, a violation not only of their right to health but also of their ability to perform their duties and jeopardize the care and treatment conditions necessary for their patients. They added, "Ignoring the crimes that Israel continues to commit in Gaza sends a clear message to the world: the people of Gaza do not count, and their lives are worthless. Palestinians in Gaza are being denied their right to dignity, existence, and food." “There is a moral duty on the international community to end the massacre and allow the people of Gaza to live on their land without fear of attack, killing, starvation, or the enduring reality of occupation and apartheid,” they said. “States have failed in this duty, and the people trapped in the hell of Gaza are paying the ultimate price for this failure and indifference.” They called for an immediate ceasefire, to hold Israel accountable and to save what remains of Gaza's healthcare system, in order to prevent the extermination of its population. Y.S. *** Israeli prison escalates abuse against Palestinian child detainees, says Detainees Affairs Commission RAMALLAH, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said that the Israeli Prison Service continues to impose harsh punitive measures against Palestinian child prisoners, no less than the repressive measures taken against adult detainees since the start of its assault on the Gaza Strip. In a statement issued Wednesday, the Commission noted that minors are being held in isolation cells, are doubly isolated, and denied family visits. This is in light of the continued denial of family visits to thousands of Palestinian prisoners. The Commission added that the Megiddo Prison administration deliberately brings minor detainees for visits with their hands and feet shackled, blindfolded, and their heads covered with black bags. Only after being placed in the visiting room are the blindfolds removed, their hands are cuffed in a way that makes it difficult for them to hold a phone, while their leg remain cuffed. Despite legal staff's demands to remove the cuffs during the visit, the prison administration refuses to do so. Among the measures reported by the Commission's lawyer following her recent visit is that the prison cells lack the minimum international standards for children's and prisoners' rights. She described the cells as cleanliness, infested with insects, lack adequate ventilation and lighting, and the minors are subjected daily to verbal abuse, beatings, isolation, sexual harassment, and collective punishment. Y.S. *** ****** Gaza: Hospitals receive 123 martyrs, death toll climbs to 61,722 Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) During the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 123 civilians, including one retrieved from the rubble, as well as 437 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry on Wednesday morning. Accordingly, a total of 10,201 people have been killed and 42,484 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025. The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 61,722 martyrs, including 1,859 aid seekers who were killed at or near US-backed distribution points, the health ministry said. The ministry added that the total number of the wounded also surged to 154,525 people, including 13,594 aid seekers. The ministry also said that Gaza’s hospitals recorded eight new fatalities in the past 24 hours due to starvation and malnutrition, bringing the death toll from the famine to 235 victims, including 106 children. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more martyrs who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip. *** Dozens of Palestinian casualties as the Israeli occupation army intensifies attacks on Gaza Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Wednesday, to carry out intensive deadly strikes and target civilians in different areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in Gaza City. According to local media sources, the Israeli occupation forces also continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and displace families in the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine. According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza, the Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including an Israeli airstrike that killed five civilians who worked as volunteers guarding aid shipments in Al-Karama neighborhood in northern Gaza. Several citizens suffered injuries following Israeli strikes on a house and an apartment building near Al-Fat'h El-Mubeen Mosque in Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood. Another attack on a house belonging to the family of Dabban in Gaza City’s al-Sabra neighborhood injured several people. The Israeli army also attacked a group of civilians in Gaza City’s El-Saftawi area, killing three of them. 12 other people were massacred following an airstrike on a house in El-Zaytoun neighborhood. Seven people from the family of Abu Hunaidiq were martyred, including five children, after Israeli warplanes attacked tents in Gaza City’s Tel El-Hawa neighborhood. More people were martyred or injured in Israeli attacks on aid seekers near distribution points in southern and central Gaza. The Israeli army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women. Meanwhile, several Palestinian in Gaza were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks. *** Eight humanitarian security volunteers killed northwest of Gaza Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Eight individuals were killed, and several others wounded, on Wednesday evening after Israeli forces struck humanitarian aid security personnel in the northwest of Gaza City. According to Al-Shifa Hospital, eight of those killed and five injured were transferred there following an aerial attack targeting volunteers securing aid convoys in that area. These repeated attacks targeting civilian volunteers, who play a crucial role in delivering aid, are viewed by human rights organizations as part of a deliberate strategy to impose mass starvation and humiliation. The Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security strongly condemned the attack. The Ministry asserted in a statement that the Israeli forces are intentionally engineering hunger by targeting aid distribution protectors. The statement added that Israel not only attacks tribal and civilian aid protection teams but also enables looters, intercepting aid trucks, looting their contents, and selling supplies on the black market at exorbitant prices. This thwarts the fair distribution of aid to those in desperate need. The Ministry observed that these systematic, targeted killings of volunteers are part of a broader tactic designed to destabilize the aid mechanism in Gaza. It emphasized that Israel does not merely tolerate but actively seeks to disrupt any effective system of humanitarian aid delivery. The Ministry called on the international community and all relevant organizations to pressure Israel to allow aid to reach its rightful recipients. It particularly urged empowered access for UN agencies, especially UNRWA, citing its long-standing expertise in humanitarian operations. In concluding, the Ministry warned that silence on these attacks equates to complicity in Israel’s starvation strategy, a campaign that continues to prey upon Palestinians, especially children, on a daily basis. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a genocidal war on Gaza, employing systematic killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in defiance of international orders, including those from the International Court of Justice, to cease these operations. *** Eight civilians killed in Israeli strikes north of Gaza City and central Gaza GAZA, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Eight civilians were killed and others injured on Wednesday evening in Israeli strikes targeting civilians in Dair El-Bala'h in central Gaza and northwest of Gaza City. Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said three civilians were killed when an Israeli drone fired a missile targeting a group of civilians in the 'Hikr El-Jami' area, south of Dair El-Bala'h. WAFA correspondents reported that Israeli drones targeted a group of citizens northwest of Gaza City, killing five and injuring others. Medical sources in Gaza hospitals confirmed that the total number of citizens killed since dawn today has reached 81, including 45 in Gaza City. T.R. *** Three people killed, others injured in Israeli targeting of group of civilians in Gaza City GAZA, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Three civilians were killed this afternoon in an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Tuffa'h neighborhood east of Gaza City. WAFA correspondent said that the occupation warplanes targeted a group of civilians on Al-Jaru Street in Al-Tuffa'h neighborhood, killing three, including two brothers, and injuring others. The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 61,722, the majority of whom were women and children, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023. At least 154,525 others have also been injured. This toll remains incomplete, as many victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews. T.R. *** Five Palestinian civilians killed, 10 others injured in Israeli strikes in central Gaza Strip GAZA, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Five Palestinian civilians were killed and 10 others injured while waiting for aid on Wednesday, when the Israeli occupation forces targeted a group of citizens in the central Gaza Strip. WAFA correspondent said that the occupation forces targeted a gathering of civilians near the aid distribution center on Salah al-Din Street, south of the Wadi Gaza area in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in five fatalities. The strike also resulted in the injury of 10 Palestinians. The death toll of Palestinians killed while collecting aid in the past 24 hours surged to 31 Palestinians, with 388 reported injured Since the start of Israel’s aggression on Gaza, at least 1,838 people seeking food assistance have been killed, and 13,409 have been wounded, according to hospital records. Y.S. *** Gaza: at least seven killed, others wounded, by Israeli shelling GAZA, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – At least seven citizens were killed and others wounded early Wednesday morning by Israeli occupation forces' fire and shelling on the cities of Gaza and Dair El-Bala'h. Medical sources reported that four citizens were killed and others, waiting for aid, were wounded by Israeli occupation forces' fire southeast of Dair El-Bala'h, central Gaza Strip. The sources added that three citizens were killed and several others were wounded as a result of shelling on Al-Thani Street in Al-Shaikh Radhwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City. The shelling indicated that the Israeli shelling caused destruction to homes and property, while ambulance and civil defense crews continue to search for missing persons under the rubble. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 61,599 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 154,088 others. This is a preliminary toll, with a number of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams. K.T. *** Civil Defense: More than 300 homes targeted in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood over 3 days Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have carried out a concentrated military operation in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southeast Gaza City over the past several days, involving heavy bombardment and direct attacks on homes and civilians, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal. Basal said in a statement on Wednesday that the current attack differs from the incursion about 40 days ago that covered the Tuffa'h, Al-Zaytoun, and Al-Shuja’iya neighborhoods. This time, he said, the IOF is focusing on central and southern parts of Al-Zaytoun, carrying out forced evacuations accompanied by direct threats to residents. Over the past three days, Israeli occupation forces have targeted more than 300 homes, some without prior warning, Basal said. The attacks have resulted in mass killings of entire families, including the Al-Husari, Daloum, and Abu Daf families. He added that the IOF is using high-explosive munitions that destroy targeted homes and damage adjacent structures. Basal said rescue crews are being blocked from entering large parts of the neighborhood, making access impossible in many areas, worsening the humanitarian crisis, and delaying recovery of victims. The eastern and southern areas of Al-Zaytoun are under complete siege, he said, while the neighboring Sabra district is also coming under intense bombardment. *** Deadly “flaccid paralysis” claims lives of five in Gaza, including four kids Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Dr. A'hmed El-Farra, head of the Nasir Hospital’s pediatric department, said that the number of deaths from progressive flaccid paralysis in the Gaza Strip has surged to five people, including four children and a 60-year-old woman. In a statement on Wednesday, Dr. El-Farra said that the child, Mu'hammed Qudai'h, from Khan Younus, died today after suffering from progressive flaccid paralysis, joining four others who recently died from the same disease. There are 100 people suffering from this disease, half of them under age 15 and the rest from older age groups, according to Dr. El-Farra. *** Al-Bursh: Folic acid deficiency puts Gaza’s fetuses at risk of severe birth defects Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza's Director-General, Muneer Al-Bursh, said that pregnant women and their unborn children face a daily, life-threatening danger even before birth. In a press statement on Wednesday, Al-Bursh explained that the Strip is home to more than 55,000 pregnant women, almost all of whom suffer from acute shortages of essential nutritional supplements such as iron, calcium, and folic acid, in addition to the lack of balanced nutrition. He noted that severe anemia has become a common condition among most pregnant women, which exhausts their bodies and exposes them to dangerous bleeding during childbirth. Al-Bursh warned that folic acid deficiency puts fetuses at risk of severe birth defects, especially in the nervous system. He stressed that babies in Gaza are “born from empty wombs,” trapped in hunger, anxiety, and lack of care, in an environment that doesn’t even give them a fair chance to start life. He confirmed that the war has not only destroyed hospitals and medical facilities, but has also displaced pregnant women into shelters, camps, and homes that are unfit for healthy living. Earlier, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Mu'hammed Abu Salmiya, stated that about 320,000 children in the Gaza Strip suffer from malnutrition, including 17,000 with acute malnutrition. He explained that hospitals provide medical solutions that keep children alive but do not fully cure them. He affirmed that a real famine is striking the Strip according to global classifications, calling on the United Nations to declare Gaza a disaster zone due to this severe humanitarian crisis. For his part, Gaza’s Medical Relief Director, Dr. Mu'hammed Abu 'Afash, reported 300 cases of skin diseases for which no medicines are available, confirming that the health system has become paralyzed and that “the medical aid entering is insufficient.” The Ministry of Health recorded 235 martyrs, including 106 children, who died as a result of malnutrition, Israel’s systematic starvation policy, lack of treatment, and the ongoing siege accompanying the genocide Israel has been committing for 22 months. Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, blocking the entry of any humanitarian aid, plunging the Strip into famine despite relief trucks piling up at its borders and only allowing in limited quantities that do not meet even the minimum needs of starving Palestinians. Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and International Court of Justice orders to stop. The Israeli genocide has resulted in 61,599 Palestinian martyrs, 154,088 wounded, most of them children and women, over 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has killed 227 people, including 103 children. *** British medical study: Gaza faces alarming rise in drug-resistant infections Wednesday 13-August-2025 GAZA, (PIC) A new British medical study has warned of a dangerous spread of diseases caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria across the Gaza Strip, as the ongoing Israeli genocide continues to devastate the territory’s health and sanitation systems. The Lancet medical journal revealed findings based on more than 1,300 samples collected from the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, one of the few microbiology labs still functioning in the besieged enclave. The study found that two-thirds of patient samples taken over a 10-month period last year contained bacteria resistant to multiple drugs. Experts say this surge in drug-resistant bacteria poses a severe threat, making illnesses harder to treat, accelerating the spread of infectious diseases, and increasing the likelihood of prolonged sickness, amputations, and death, especially in a population already weakened by starvation and injury. “This means longer and more severe illnesses, a higher risk of transmission, and greater chances of dying from what would normally be common infections,” said Krystel Moussally, an epidemiology adviser with Médecins Sans Frontières who has researched antibiotic resistance in Gaza and other conflict zones in the Middle East. “It’s a horrifying picture.” Bilal Irfan, a co-author of the study and a medical researcher at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard University and the University of Michigan, described the findings as “extremely worrying.” He noted that the true scale of the problem remains unknown due to the destruction of nearly all laboratories and the killing of much of Gaza’s medical staff. Gaza has battled high levels of multi-drug-resistant bacteria for decades, exacerbated by repeated wars and the Israeli blockade since 2007. But experts say the current crisis is unprecedented: healthcare infrastructure has been obliterated, sewage systems destroyed, garbage collection nearly halted, and widespread hunger has left Gaza’s 2.3 million residents more vulnerable to infections. The World Health Organization (WHO) warned Tuesday that Israel must allow the agency to stockpile medical supplies to address the “catastrophic” health situation. Dr. Rik Peeperkorn, WHO representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, said more than half of Gaza’s essential medicines have run out. Only 50% of hospitals and 38% of primary healthcare centers are partially operational, with bed occupancy reaching 240% at al-Shifa Hospital and 300% at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, both in northern Gaza. Peeperkorn stressed that WHO has been able to deliver far fewer supplies than needed due to “complex procedures” imposed by Israeli authorities, adding that many essential products remain banned from entry. “The overall health situation is catastrophic. Hunger and malnutrition are destroying Gaza,” he said. *** ý*** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces ***ý Palestinian man shot dead by an illegal Israeli settler gunfire in Nablus-area-village NABLUS, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian man was shot dead on Wednesday by an illegal Israeli settler in the village of Douma, south of Nablus. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, a 35-year-old Thameen Khaleel Ridha Dawabsha succumbed to his wounds after being shot by the illegal Israeli settlers, during their attack on the village of Douma, south of Nablus. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its crews treated a critically wounded man following the attack. Furthermore, the head of the Duma Village Council, Sulayman Dawabsha, confirmed that colonists targeted local residents and opened fire at them in the southern part of the village, amid land-leveling activities that have been taking place in the area for days. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, 10 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli colonists since the beginning of this year, bringing the death toll from colonist gunfire to 30 since October 7, 2023. Y.S' *** Youth sustains injuries after colonists assaulted him in the Jordan Valley JORDAN VALLEY, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – A young man sustained bruises last night after colonists attacked a Palestinian family in the northern Jordan Valley. WAFA correspondent reported that colonists attacked the family of Shamikh Daraghma in Al-Farisiya in the northern Jordan Valley last night, injuring his son Mustafa after hitting him with an iron rod. K.T. *** Rights group: Palestinian minors in Megiddo prison face abuse, isolation, inhumane conditions Wednesday 13-August-2025 RAMALLAH, (PIC) The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission said that Israel’s prison authorities are subjecting Palestinian child prisoners to harsh and degrading conditions in Megiddo prison, mirroring the punitive measures imposed on adult detainees since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023. In a statement on Wednesday, the commission said the minors are held in bare cells under extreme isolation and are denied family visits, as are thousands of other prisoners. According to the commission, Megiddo prison administration deliberately brought the detained children to visits with their hands and feet shackled, their eyes blindfolded, and their heads covered with black bags. Once inside the visiting room, the blindfolds are removed, but their hands remain cuffed in a way that makes it difficult to hold the phone, and their feet remain chained. Despite repeated legal demands to remove the restraints during visits, the prison administration refuses. A commission lawyer who recently visited the minors reported that prison rooms fail to meet even the minimum international standards for children’s and prisoners’ rights. The cells lack cleanliness, are infested with insects, have poor ventilation and lighting, and the minors are subjected daily to verbal abuse, beatings, solitary confinement, sexual harassment, and collective punishment. The commission also warned of a resurgence of scabies in Israel’s Negev desert prison due to random prisoner transfers between sections, denial of personal bedding, and the forced use of beds previously occupied by infected inmates. It added that prisoners, including women, are enduring unbearable conditions amid an ongoing heat wave, with cells turning into “burning ovens.” *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers *** Note: Despite the Trump administration support for the Israeli occupation apartheid regime, the U.S. official policy is still considering the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian territories as illegal. *** Illegal Israeli settlers attack Palestinian vehicles northwest of Aree'ha (Jericho) Aree'ha (Jericho), August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – A group of the illegal Israeli settlers on Tuesday evening attacked Palestinian vehicles northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Aree'ha (Jericho), according to local sources. They said that colonists obstructed the Al-Mu'arrajat road and threw stones at passing Palestinian vehicles, shattering the windows of several cars. The settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. The settler violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law. A.D./ K.F. *** Youth sustains injuries after the illegal Israeli settlers assaulted him in the Jordan Valley JORDAN VALLEY, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian young man sustained bruises last night after a group of the illegal Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian family in the northern Jordan Valley. WAFA correspondent reported that colonists attacked the family of Shamikh Daraghma in Al-Farisiya in the northern Jordan Valley last night, injuring his son Mustafa after hitting him with an iron rod. K.T. *** Israeli occupation forces compel an Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) resident to demolish his home in Silwan Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation apartheid regime on Tuesday forced a Palestinian resident to self-demolish his home in Wadi El-'Hilwa in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) neighborhood of Silwan. The Israeli occupation apartheid regime coerced Mu'hammed Khalid Qara'een to tear down his house in the Wadi El-'Hilwa area of Silwan to avoid paying exorbitant fines, potentially hundreds of thousands of shekels, if the occupation municipality carry out the demolition on its own. Several days ago, Qara'een’s brothers, Iyad and 'Ammar, were also coerced to demolish their homes on the same plot of land. Using the pretext of illegal building, Israel demolishes houses regularly to restrict Palestinian expansion in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). At the same time, the occupation municipality and government build tens of thousands of housing units in illegal colonies in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) for Jews to offset the demographic balance in favour of the illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied city. Palestinians in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), a part of the internationally recognized Palestinian Territory that has been subject to Israeli military occupation since 1967, are denied their citizenship rights and are instead classified only as "residents" whose permits can be revoked if they move away from the city for more than a few years. They are also discriminated against in all aspects of life, including housing, employment, and services. They are unable to access services in the West Bank due to the construction of Israel's separation wall. According to a report by the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, the Israeli occupation High Court could be liable for war crimes for its policies that led to the dispossession of Palestinians from their properties in Area C of the West Bank. The report, Fake Justice, shows that the court’s support of Israeli planning policy is tantamount to support for dispossession and forcible transfer of Palestinians, a war crime under international law. A.D./ K.F. *** IOAR carries out demolitions, forces Palestinian to raze home in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Wednesday 13-August-2025 Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) , (PIC) The Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) demolished different Palestinian-owned structures in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), and forced a citizen to demolish his own home, claiming they were built without permits. According to local sources, the Israeli municipality demolished a hut and walls belonging to 'Umran Raba'h in Qalandya village, northwest of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). The municipality also demolished a poultry facility in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The 'Izz Barqan family, who owns the facility, said the municipality destroyed their property today with no prior notice, although they had already been given until September 10 to demolish it at their own expense. In another incident today, the municipality forced Mu'hammed Qara’een to demolish his home in the Wadi El-'Hilwa neighborhood of Silwan. His brothers, Iyad and 'Ammar, had also been forced to demolish their homes on the same plot of land a few days ago. Palestinian Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) homeowners find themselves forced to demolish their homes at their own expense in order to avoid paying the Israeli municipality exorbitant money in fines and demolition expenses. The rate at which Palestinian homes and structures are demolished in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) has almost doubled since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, human rights groups and monitoring organizations say. The demolitions are ordered by the Israeli municipal authority which claims that many Palestinian homes and structures are illegally built without permission. Almost all attempts by Palestinian families in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) to apply for planning permission are rejected by the IOAR. That means growing families say they have no choice but to build without permits and face the consequences – huge fines and demolition orders. *** Israeli occupation forces demolish agricultural structure in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished an agricultural structure in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Jerusalem Governorate stated that occupation forces stormed the Abu Tayih neighborhood in the town and demolished a 16-square-meter poultry facility belonging to local resident 'Izz Burqan, despite granting him a deadline until September 10 to carry out the demolition himself. . Y.S. *** Israel issues 13 demolition orders near Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) , August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities issued demolition and evacuation orders on Wednesday for more than 13 residential, agricultural, and industrial facilities in the Wadi al-Houd area of the town of El-'Aizariya, southeast of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). The Jerusalem Governorate explained in a statement that these orders come as part of a plan to pave the way for the so-called "Fabric of Life Road" colonial project. It noted that this step came one day after the distribution of approximately 14 similar orders in the Wadi El-Jammal and Jabal El-Baba areas. It was preceded by another campaign a few days earlier, which included the issuance of 13 orders at the entrance to El-'Aizariya, threatening to separate Wadi El-Jammal and Jabal El-Baba from the town and completely isolate it. The Governorate confirmed that these measures are part of a comprehensive Judaization plan that links this colonial project to broader plans such as the "E1" project and the "Greater Jerusalem" plan, which aim to expand settlements and sever the geographical contiguity between Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) and the West Bank. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission monitored the occupation authorities' notifications of 33 Palestinian facilities for demolition last month. These were concentrated in the Bait La'm (Bethlehem) Governorate with 19 notifications, Al-Khaleel (Hebron) with 6, Qalqilya and Toubas with 3, and Toulkarm and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) with 1 each. K.T. *** *** News Related to the Israeli Genocidal War on the Palestinian People *** Saudi Arabia condemns, in strongest terms possible, Netanyahu's statements on so-called "Vision of Greater Israel" RIYADH, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation, in the strongest terms possible, of the statements made by the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, regarding the so-called "Vision of Greater Israel." The Ministry, in a statement, expressed its outright rejection of the settlement and expansionist plans adopted by the Israeli occupation authorities. The Kingdom affirmed the historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state on their own land, in accordance with the relevant international laws. The Kingdom also warned the international community against the Israeli occupation's continued flagrant violations, which undermine the foundations of international legitimacy, blatantly infringe on the sovereignty of states, and threaten regional and international peace and security. T.R. *** Presidency condemns Netanyahu's remarks on so-called vision of "Greater Israel" RAMALLAH, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) - The Presidency slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements on the so-called “Greater Israel” vision as contrary to international legitimacy resolutions and international law, and as a violation of the sovereignty of states and the region’s security and stability. The Presidency rejected and condemned the statements by the Prime Minister of the occupation government, describing them as a provocation and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, stemming from the occupation state’s expansionist colonial policies and its refusal to respect the sovereignty of states and international agreements governing relations between them. The Presidency, in a statement, stressed that the State of Palestine is committed to what has been approved by international legitimacy and international law on the establishment of the independent State of Palestine on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The statement strongly rejected these remarks, which disregard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people affirmed by the international community in the New York Declaration, as well as the announcements of many European countries and other major world powers expressing their readiness to recognize the State of Palestine. The statement emphasized that the Palestinian people, while steadfast on their land, reject any infringement on the land or sovereignty of any Arab state, just as they reject the displacement and genocidal war being waged against them. T.R. *** Arab League condemns Netanyahu's statements on so-called "Greater Israel" EGYPT, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) - The General Secretariat of the Arab League has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements regarding the seizure of parts of the territories of sovereign Arab states to establish the so-called vision of "Greater Israel". In a statement on Wednesday, the General Secretariat considered these statements a violation of the sovereignty of Arab states and an attempt to undermine security and stability in the region. The General Secretariat of the Arab League stressed that these statements constitute a serious threat to collective Arab national security and a serious challenge to international law and the principles of international legitimacy. It stated that these remarks reflect expansionist and aggressive intentions that cannot be accepted or tolerated, revealing an extremist mindset steeped in colonial illusions. The statement urged the international community, represented by the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibility and respond decisively to these extremist statements, which destabilize the region and fuel hatred and rejection of the occupying state. T.R. *** Qatar condemns Netanyahu's remarks on so-called "Vision of Greater Israel" DOHA, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – The State of Qatar has condemned the statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the so-called "Greater Israel Vision". Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the remarks reflect the occupation’s approach, which is based on arrogance, fueling crises and conflicts and blatantly violating the sovereignty of states, international law, the UN Charter, and international legitimacy resolutions. The statement emphasized that the false Israeli claims and absurd provocative statements will not undermine the legitimate rights of Arab states and peoples, highlighting the need for the international community to join efforts to confront these provocations, which expose the region to further violence and chaos. The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at achieving a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace in the region, and strengthening regional and international security and stability. T.R. *** Jordan rejects and condemns Netanyahu’s remarks on so-called “Greater Israel” vision AMMAN, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Wednesday condemned the remarks of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he said he feels a connection to the so-called vision of “Greater Israel”. The Ministry, in a statement, rejected such remarks and condemned them as a dangerous, provocative escalation, a threat to the sovereignty of states, and a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. The Ministry's official spokesman, Ambassador Sufian El-Qudhah, emphasized the Kingdom's firm rejection of these inflammatory statements, stressing that the absurd illusions presented in the statements of Israeli officials will not undermine Jordan and the Arab countries or erode the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. He added that these remarks and actions reflect the dire situation of the occupation government, occurring alongside its international isolation in light of its ongoing aggression on the occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank. El-Qudhah stressed that these claims and illusions, promoted and endorsed by the extremists within the occupation government, fuel the ongoing spiral of violence and conflict. He emphasized the need for a clear international stance to condemn them, warn of their serious consequences for regional security and stability, and hold those responsible accountable. He emphasized the urgent need for the international community to take immediate action to halt all Israeli provocative actions and statements that threaten regional stability, as well as international security and peace. T.R. *** New Zealand PM says Israel's Netanyahu 'has gone too far' WELLINGTON, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said on Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has gone too far and lost his mind, and that the lack of humanitarian aid and forced displacement of civilians in the Gaza Strip are appalling. Luxon added in a statement that the Israeli plan to attack Gaza City is unacceptable. Two days ago, New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced his country's intention to recognize a Palestinian state. Peters said that Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's government will make a formal decision in September and will present its approach during the UN Leaders' Week. He added, "While some of New Zealand's close partners have chosen to recognize a Palestinian state, New Zealand has an independent foreign policy. We intend to carefully consider this matter and then act in accordance with New Zealand's principles, values, and national interests." Peters said, "New Zealand has made it clear for some time that our recognition of a Palestinian state is not in doubt, but rather a matter of when." K.T. *** Australian Prime Minister describes Israel’s starvation policy in Gaza as war crime RAMALLAH, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese affirmed that Israel's policy of starvation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip constitutes a "war crime." In a press interview on Wednesday, he expressed his deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He said that the starvation and loss of life resulting from Israel's genocidal war in the besieged Gaza Strip is "completely unacceptable." He added that "Israel's actions are unjustifiable," and that the restrictions imposed on the flow of humanitarian aid since last March have created a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Albanese underscored, "People are suffering tremendously from hunger and loss of life. We are seeing people killed while trying to access food and water. This is completely unacceptable." The Australian Prime Minister stressed that "what is happening in Gaza is an affront to human dignity and values." Y.S. *** Israel’s FM says Israel will not allow establishment of Palestinian state or implementation of two-state solution RAMALLAH, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar told a visiting delegation of American journalists on Wednesday that the establishment of a Palestinian state would be suicide for Israel. “A two-state solution? A Palestinian state in the heart of Israel would indeed be a solution—for those who seek to eliminate us. We will not let this happen,” Sa’ar said. He said that creating a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with its capital in eastern Jerusalem, would endanger Israel’s major population centers and leave the country with indefensible boundaries. “If large countries like France and Canada want to establish a Palestinian state in their territory, they can—they have enough territory. But here in the Land of Israel, it will not happen,” he said. France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand have all confirmed their intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meetings in September. T.R. *** OIC rejects Israel's announcement of its intention to impose full military control over Gaza NEW YORK, August 12, 2025 (WAFA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed on Tuesday its "strong condemnation and categorical rejection of Israel's announcement of its intention to impose full military control over the Gaza Strip.” On behalf of the OIC, Deputy Permanent Representative of Türkiye to the UN Fikriye Asli Güven told reporters: “We consider this announcement a dangerous and unacceptable escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and an attempt to entrench the illegal occupation and impose a fait accompli by force in contravention of international law, international humanitarian law and relevant United Nations resolutions.” Ambassador Güven added, the OIC reaffirms that this declared course of action by Israel constitutes a continuation of its grave violations, including killing and starvation, attempts at forced displacement, and annexation of Palestinian land, the settler terrorism, which are crimes that may amount to crimes against humanity. The OIC demanded “the immediate and comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and an end to the ongoing violations committed by the occupying forces against civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.” Moreover, the group also demanded that Israel, as the occupying power, “immediately and unconditionally allow the entry of humanitarian assistance at scale into the Gaza Strip, including food, medicine, and fuel, and ensure the freedom of operation of relief agencies and international humanitarian organizations in accordance with international humanitarian law and its applicable principles.” The Turkish diplomat reiterated the group’s full support for the efforts undertaken by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, the United States of America to achieve a ceasefire and reach an agreement for the exchange of prisoners and hostages as a fundamental humanitarian entry point to de-escalation, alleviating suffering and ending the aggression. The OIC called for the immediate commencement of implementation of the Arab Islamic Reconstruction Plan of the Gaza Strip, and for active participation in the upcoming reconstruction conference to be held in Cairo. Ambassador Güven reiterated the group’s “rejection and condemnation of all attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the affirmation of the need to preserve the legal and historical status quo of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem while recognizing the key role of the Hashemite custodianship in this regard.” She affirmed that a just and lasting peace can only be achieved through the implementation of the Two-state solution. “We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the ongoing genocide and the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, taking place in the Gaza Strip, and calls upon the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council, to assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities and to take urgent action to stop Israel's illegal aggressive policies aimed at undermining prospects for a just and lasting peace, and eliminating any horizon for the implementation of the Two-state solution and ensuring immediate accountability for all violations committed by Israel against international law and international humanitarian law, including those amounting to genocide,” she said. Meanwhile, Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour said that the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution will resume on 22 September in New York. A.D./ K.F. *** Palestinian Foreign Minister: Israel's decision to reoccupy Gaza aims to turn it into an uninhabitable territory RAMALLAH, August 13, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Aghabekian Shaheen, said that Israel's decision to occupy and impose control over the Gaza Strip reveals that the war is being waged against Palestinian civilians, without any justification, and that its goal is to turn the Strip into an uninhabitable territory and forcefully displace its residents. In a press briefing held on Wednesday, she added that occupying the entire Gaza Strip will deepen the humanitarian catastrophe in all its dimensions, perpetuate the use of starvation as a weapon of war, and cram two million citizens into an area that does not exceed 10% of the Gaza Strip's area. This is a direct recipe for displacement. Shaheen pointed out that Israel currently occupies more than 75% of the Gaza Strip, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is exploiting the hostage issue to prolong the war. She stressed that the occupation of the Gaza Strip is part of an attempt to undermine the opportunity to establish a Palestinian state on the ground and to thwart international, popular, and official support for the rights of the Palestinian people and the successive recognitions of the State of Palestine. Shaheen emphasized that the Palestinian leadership's priority is a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid. She explained that the priority of halting the aggression falls within a comprehensive vision proposed by President Mahmoud Abbas and adopted by the Palestinian government that includes the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, the State of Palestine assuming full responsibility for the Gaza Strip with Arab and international support, and working to develop a special plan for early recovery and reconstruction in cooperation with Arab and international parties. The FM added that the President's vision includes "no role for Hamas in government, and that the movement will hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority security forces." According to the vision presented by the minister, the atmosphere will then be conducive to updating the voter registry in preparation for the general elections announced by President Mahmoud Abbas. The vision emphasizes the need to halt unilateral steps that violate international law, including colonial activity, annexation, settler violence, and attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, and to create the atmosphere for implementing the two-state solution according to the plan expected to emerge from the international peace conference on September 22. Shaheen announced that the government is continuing its political and diplomatic efforts to secure further recognition of the State of Palestine, in parallel with efforts on the international legal track, conducting dialogues and discussions with decision-making centers in countries and with components of the international community to stop the crimes of genocide, displacement, and annexation, and to urge the international community to assume its responsibilities in this regard and implement UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue, most notably the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice. She welcomed the successive announcements by countries recognizing the State of Palestine, the most recent of which was Australia's announcement of its intention to recognize Palestine during the UN General Assembly next month. Shaheen stated that eight countries have confirmed their intention to recognize the State of Palestine: Britain, France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, San Marino, Singapore, and Malta. She added that 10 countries are considered hesitant to make a similar decision, and that diplomatic efforts will be conducted with them in the period leading up to the UN General Assembly to confirm their position on recognition. She stressed the importance of international recognition of Palestine, which can be built upon to protect the two-state solution and thwart Israeli plans aimed at undermining the possibility of a Palestinian state on the ground. Shaheen also noted that these recognitions bring the State of Palestine closer to achieving full membership in the United Nations, strengthening Palestine's international legal status as it moves toward its realization on the ground. Regarding the United Nations Conference on on the Peaceful Settlement of Palestine & the Two-State Solution, held late last month in New York under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia and France, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized that it constituted an important international milestone on the path to mobilizing the broadest international consensus to halt the war on the Gaza Strip, provide relief to the Palestinian people, end the occupation, and establish the Palestinian state. She announced that the Ministry had formed a specialized working group to develop the necessary plans and strategies to monitor the implementation of the conference outcomes and the declaration issued therein. The group is working alongside the Supreme Leadership Committee, which was formed for this purpose upon instructions from President Mahmoud Abbas. Shaheen explained that the Palestinian action plan in accordance with the New York Declaration includes a focus on urging countries to take practical steps to hold the occupying state accountable for its violations in accordance with international law. Additionally, Palestinian ambassadors were mobilized to endorse the New York Declaration and its attached annex from the countries to which they are accredited, identify areas in which countries can contribute to implementing the conference outcomes, and clarify the nature of the support these countries can provide to Palestine in all areas. According to Shaheen, the plan also includes international efforts to find mechanisms to release the clearance revenues withheld by Israel, or to obtain international funding equivalent to the withheld amounts. She explained that the plan includes selecting a group of countries to form a peacekeeping and stability force (Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Italy, Britain, France, and others), and preparing a draft resolution to be submitted to the UN Security Council inviting countries to contribute to that force. The Palestinian action plan also includes working with Egypt and the United Nations to hold an international conference for recovery and reconstruction, working with Norway, the European Union, Saudi Arabia, and France to hold a donor conference for the Palestinian government during the UN General Assembly, and working with the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, France, and Saudi Arabia, to reach out to countries ready to recognize the State of Palestine, and with some influential countries to secure their recognition by early September. She noted that work is underway to hold a meeting of the chairpersons of the UN conference on settling the Palestinian issue and implementing the two-state solution (Saudi Arabia and France), and the heads of the 17-country working groups early next month to prepare for a mini-summit and discuss the determinants of its success. Shaheen noted that, in accordance with the New York Conference Declaration and its annex, efforts will be made to unify Palestinian national institutions with those in the Gaza Strip, name a transitional committee to govern Gaza, and prepare a police team to assume duties in the Strip alongside the UN stabilization force. She continued that work will continue on the reform process, which represents a national demand before it is an international one. Reports will be submitted to measure the impact of this on Palestinian institutions, focusing on inviting countries to review the social protection system and what has been achieved in this regard. She also emphasized that relevant countries will be informed of progress reports on developing Palestinian curricula and their impact on school textbooks based on national needs. Shaheen expressed her condemnation of the crime of targeting journalists committed by the occupation army in front of Al-Shifa Hospital west of Gaza City, which led to the killing of six journalists, joining the dozens of their colleagues who have were killed defending the truth of the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. The FM emphasized that targeting journalists is a crime against humanity punishable under international law and falls within the framework of the crimes of genocide, displacement, and annexation to which the people are subjected. Shaheen stressed the need for the international community to act to stop the war crime and crime against humanity posed by Israel's targeting of journalists, which has claimed the lives of approximately 240 journalists and media workers, far exceeding the number killed in longer wars, such as World War II, the Vietnam War, and the war between Russia and Ukraine. She added that journalists are a treasure for Palestine, and targeting and killing them is part of the silencing of the truth.
