Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip, based on the reliable data reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry:

By October 30, 2024, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 53,163+.   

This includes the accounted for deaths (43,163), those who are still missing under the rubble (an estimate of at least 10,000+). 

By October 30, 2024, the documented injuries exceeded 101,510.

By October 30, 2024, 764 Palestinians who were killed, 6,523 who were injured, and 11,661, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023, including 310 women and 640 children (Some of the detainees have been released).

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

Qasim vows to continue supporting Gaza to confront Israel’s threat to the region

'Hizbullah secretary-general Na'eem Qasim has said that 'Hizbullah will continue to support Gaza to confront the Israeli threat to the entire region, stressing that the Gaza people have the right to receive every support.

In his first speech on Wednesday following his election as leader of 'Hizbullah, Qasim affirmed that 'Hizbullah would stick to the war strategy as assigned by the former leadership, expressing his belief that the group would emerge victorious despite the many and great sacrifices.

“My work program is the same one that has been set by our martyred leader 'Hasan Nasrullah, and will continue to carry out the war plan that he and the party leadership have drawn,” Qasim said.

Qasim said that the resistance exists to liberate the land and confront the Israeli occupation and its expansionist intents, adding that the legendary steadfastness of the resistance in Gaza and Lebanon would shape the future of their generations.

The new leader of Hezbollah rejected what some people claim that “Israel was provoked. “Does Israel need an excuse? Have we forgotten 75 years of killing and displacing Palestinians, stealing their land and holy sites, and committing massacres?”

He pointed out that the Israeli occupation regime had a premeditated plan to wage its war on Lebanon. “Netanyahu justified his war on Lebanon as being for the creation of a new Middle East and his ministers announced that they wanted to build settlements in southern Lebanon.”

Israel continues its aggression against Lebanon, number of victims rises to 2,787 martyrs

The Israeli armed forces continued their bloody war on Lebanon for the 38th consecutive day on Wednesday, launching dozens of airstrikes and artillery bombardments on various regions of the country, along with a ground invasion in several southern villages, facing fierce resistance from 'Hizbullah.

Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on the town of Al-Khiyam and the course of the Litani River in southern Lebanon on Wednesday morning. They also targeted the towns of Al-Jabeen, Tayr 'Harfa, and Shama, in southern Lebanon.

The National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out an air raid on the Jebour heights in Western Biqaa'.

In another airstrike on three buildings in the 'Harit Sayda area on Tuesday evening 8 citizens were martyred and 33 others injured, the Lebanese News Agency reported, adding that one citizen was martyred and several others were injured in an airstrike targeting a house in the old town of Al-Sharqiya, in Al-Nabatiya.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the number of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 8 has risen to 2,787 martyrs and 12,772 injured Lebanese people. In a statement on Monday evening, the Ministry of Health stated that “Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon in the past 24 hours resulted in 5 martyrs and 33 injured.”

Since September 23, the Israeli army has expanded its campaign of extermination to include most areas of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, through unprecedentedly violent and intense air raids, along with a ground invasion in the south, disregarding international warnings and UN resolutions.

In response, 'Hizbullah daily retaliates with rockets, drones, and artillery shells targeting military sites and settlements. While Israel announces some of its human and material losses, military censorship imposes strict secrecy on most losses, according to observers.

Dozens of Lebanese civilians killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting different towns in southern Lebanon

Dozens of Lebanese citizens were killed and wounded on Wednesday as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon, amid widespread destruction of buildings, facilities and infrastructure.

An occupation raid targeted a civilian vehicle in the Aaraiya area on the road between Beirut and the Biqaa', resulting in injuries according to initial information, while an occupation drone targeted a civilian vehicle in the town of Bushamoun, Aley District.

Toddler clings to life as Israeli strikes burn through Lebanon's South

Two-year-old Ivana Skayki, wrapped in gauze from head to toe, lies nearly motionless in a Beirut hospital, her body severely burned from an Israeli airstrike on her hometown of Al-Aliyah in southern Lebanon.

Ivana, who sustained burns over 40% of her body—including her face, chest, and upper limbs—has undergone weeks of treatment at Geitaoui Hospital, Lebanon’s only specialized burn unit.

Her father, Mohammad, recounted to Reuters the terrifying attack, describing the moment their home shook and windows shattered as they prepared to flee.

"There was a hit, the house shook - everything was breaking, the windows, the roof, everything, the blast was in my house," he recalled. "I thought to myself, 'this could be it, this could be the end.'" 

The aggression that day, September 23, saw an unprecedented intensification of Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported over 550 civilian deaths on that day alone, underscoring the high toll on civilians who fell prey to Israeli forces.

The hospital where Ivana is being treated has been overwhelmed with cases, admitting eight children with extensive third-degree burns.

Although the unit typically accommodates nine patients, it has expanded to 25 beds to meet rising needs, according to medical director Naji Abi Rashid.

The influx of patients—many of whom require prolonged and complex care—has placed immense pressure on Geitaoui Hospital's resources.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Ziyad Sulayman noted that Ivana had received skin grafts but still faced a challenging recovery, with visible signs of peeling and scarring.

Hospital staff and families continue to endure the emotional and physical strain as the toll of "Israel's" aggression on Lebanese civilians grows.

Mass displacement

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) falsely claim that 'Hizbullah had established infrastructure within civilian areas and that they had issued evacuation warnings before strikes.

However, international law experts are raising concerns, noting that civilian structures can only be lawfully targeted if there is concrete evidence of military use.

The war has led to the mass displacement of 1.4 million people across the country, with over 2,800 martyrs reported so far.

Earlier today, Al-Mayadeen's correspondent reported a number of Israeli airstrikes on Al-Khiyam village, while the occupation's artillery shelled Mount Sadana heights and Shib'aa.

The occupation also targeted the town of Ansar in Al-Nabatiya district, as well as Al-Khardali River course and Barghoz.

In Sarafand, search operations are still ongoing for three missing persons who were inside the building targeted and leveled by the Israeli occupation on Tuesday night.

Trump told Netanyahu he wants ceasefire in Gaza by the time he wins

According to the former US official, Trump's pitch to Netanyahu was not explicit, and he may perhaps support "residual" IOFs activities in Gaza as long as the war has formally ended.

Two informed sources familiar have divulged that former US President Donald Trump has informed Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that if he wins the election, he wants "Israel" to end the war on Gaza by the time he enters office.

Trump originally spoke to Netanyahu when he visited his Florida Mar-a-Lago club, according to a former Trump administration official and an Israeli official.

While Trump has publicly stated that he informed Netanyahu that he wants "Israel" to win the war soon, sources speaking with Israeli media say the deadline is linked to that desire.

According to the former US official, Trump's pitch to Netanyahu was not explicit, and he may perhaps support "residual" IOF activities in Gaza as long as it has formally ended.

Netanyahu has long stated that "Israel" plans to maintain overarching security control of Gaza in the 'day after', and other Israeli officials have spoken of the IOF maintaining a buffer zone inside the Strip while periodically re-occupying the area. 

A leaked audio revealed the Israeli PM telling Likud members he was unwilling to give in to Hamas' demands of ending the war in exchange for the Israeli captives.

Trump has recently signaled that he would offer "Israel" more leeway in its war, blasting US President Joe Biden for attempting to limit the occupation's response to Iran's Operation True Promise 2.

The former US official stressed that the pre-inauguration day win that Trump wants "Israel" to achieve in Gaza involves the release of the captives, threatening at the Republican National Convention in July that anybody holding American captives abroad would "pay a very big price."

Israeli officials concerned of Trump's demands to end aggression

Earlier this month, two top Israeli officials told Israeli media that they were concerned by Trump's repeated demands to end the aggression, believing that failure to do so may lead to a clash if the former US president wins next week's election and returns.

“There are internal political constraints to ending the war quickly,” one of the Israeli officials said.

A politician from the opposition, commenting on condition of anonymity, conceded that dragging out the war beyond the January 20 inauguration would also sour ties with Vice President Kamala if she wins. 

The MK explained that “Netanyahu has managed clashes with Democratic presidents without paying a heavy price. In fact, he campaigns on his ability to stand up to them," adding that a fight with Trump is something "he'd want to avoid, but [Finance Minister Bezalel] Smotrich and [Police Minister Itamar] Ben-Gvir may not let him."

Netanyahu 'buying time' with Gaza deal negotiations: Hamas official

In any negotiations, Hamas' goal is to stop the war on the Gaza Strip while "Israel" merely seeks a prisoner exchange, Taher al-Nounou, a senior official in the movement, said on Wednesday.

Al-Nounou told Al-Mayadeen that any potential agreement must include a permanent ceasefire, a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, reconstruction of the Strip, an end to the blockade, and a captive-prisoner exchange.

According to the official, prioritizing a prisoner exchange alone would not necessarily lead to a lasting ceasefire.

The Palestinian official argued that current discussions regarding a deal are merely a waste of time, under the guise of negotiations in preparation for the coming US elections.

Al-Nounou said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's aim with these proposals is to "buy time", which he sees as "part of a local or US election campaign."

"We have no veto on listening to mediators if they have any proposals," the Hamas official reiterated, but underlined that the movement had made it clear that it opposes a temporary pause of hostilities and the resumption of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Expressing openness to offers is distinct from agreeing to them, the Palestinian official clarified, particularly "if they fail to meet the resistance's four core demands."

"If we are invited to hear new proposals, we will certainly attend," he affirmed.

Palestinian Ministry of Health: 102 Palestinians martyred in Israeli massacres in Gaza over the past 24 hours

 The Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Wednesday that 102 Palestinian citizens were martyred and 287 others injured in 5 Israeli massacres in Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

The ministry added in its daily statistical report on the casualties of the Israeli war of genocide on Gaza that the number of victims has thus risen to 43,163 martyrs and 101,510 injured.

It said that an unspecified number of martyrs are still under the rubble of destroyed buildings or lying on roads but could not be retrieved due to the IOF shooting attacks.

Israeli genocidal war on Gaza enters Day 390

In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 390th consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation army carried out attacks on several homes, civilian targets and shelter centers in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, killing and injuring dozens of citizens.

The Israeli army’s large-scale genocidal campaign in northern Gaza, especially in Jabalya and Bait Lahya, has entered day 26 on Wednesday, where its forces continue to intensively bomb homes and shelters and attack civilians.

“The city has become a disaster area due to the Israeli war of extermination and the siege. It has no food, water, hospitals, doctors, services or telecommunications,” the Bait Lahya municipality said.

According to media sources, five civilians were martyred and over 15 others were injured, mostly children, when the Israeli army bombed a group of citizens near Al- Shaikh Radhwan clinic, west of Gaza City.

Eight civilians were martyred following an Israeli attack in Al-Salateen neighborhood in Bait Lahya, north of Gaza.

The ongoing Israeli bombardment in Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza also claimed the life of a girl child.

The Israeli army also bombed a tent sheltering a displaced family in the west of Dair El-Bala'h City in central Gaza, killing three civilians, including a woman.

An Israeli airstrike on a house in Al-Shaikh Nasir area, east of in Khan Younus, south of Gaza, killed a father along with his daughter and his seven-year-old granddaughter.

A number of civilians were also injured when a warplane attacked a tent in Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younus.

More casualties were reported in different areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today.

Six civilians killed and others injured in Israeli occupation’s bombing of Bait Lahya in Gaza

At least six civilians were killed and others were injured on Wednesday, as a result of an Israeli bombardment that targeted the Bait Lahya Project Market in the northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources said, quoting paramedics, that six people were killed as a result of an Israeli drone bombing a group of citizens in the Bait Lahya Project Market.

According to the latest statistics, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 43,163, the majority of whom are children and women, since the start of the Israeli occupation aggression on October 7, 2023, while the number of injuries has risen to 101,510, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble.

Fourteen civilians killed, others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Bait Lahya in Gaza

GAZA, October, 30, 2024 (WAFA) – 

Over 14 citizens were killed and others were injured on Wednesday as a result of the Israeli occupation's shelling of citizens in the Al-Sultan neighborhood in Bait Lahya, north of the Gaza Strip, and the vicinity of Al-Shaikh Radhwan market, west of Gaza City.

Medical sources reported that eight citizens were killed and others were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation's shelling of citizens in the Al-Sultan neighborhood in Bait Lahya, north of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, five people were also killed and about 20 others were injured, most of them children, in the occupation's shelling of the vicinity of Al-Shaikh Radhwan market, west of Gaza City. A number of citizens were also injured as a result of the occupation's artillery shelling of a group of citizens east of Al-Maghazi camp, central Gaza Strip.

The occupation artillery fired its shells towards the eastern areas of Al-Zaytoun and Al-Sabra neighborhoods in Gaza City, and Jabalia camp in the north of the Strip.

By October 29, 2024, the occupation forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of 43,061 citizens and the injury of 101,223 others, most of whom are children and women.

Dozens of civilians killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes on various areas in Gaza

GAZA, October, 30, 2024 (WAFA) – 

Dozens of civilians, including children and women, have been killed and injured since the early hours of Wednesday morning, following a series of raids carried out by occupation fighter jets targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that occupation warplanes launched intensive raids on homes and places of refuge for the displaced, resulting in the killing of several people.

In Khan Younus, south of the Strip, four civilians, including a girl and two women, were killed as a result of shelling that targeted a house in the Sheikh Nasser area.

Earlier, a helicopter strike that targeted a tent for the displaced in Dair El-Bala'h, central Gaza, resulted in the martyrdom of three citizens and the injury of a number of children.

Civil defense crews also recovered the bodies of  six slain Palestinians from under the rubble after targeting a gathering of civilians in the Sudanese area, northwest of Gaza City.

Local sources said that violent artillery, air and naval shelling targeted the Al-Nazla neighborhood in Jabalya, causing extensive damage to homes and buildings, while rescue operations are still ongoing amid increasing casualties.

In the northern Gaza Strip, the death toll from the bombing of homes near Bait Lahya Square rose to 19, according to medical sources.

The Gaza Strip is witnessing a widespread aggression, as raids continue on civilian homes and displaced persons' gatherings, amid international condemnation of the rising number of victims among unarmed citizens.

Several civilians killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes on tents housing displaced persons in Gaza

GAZA, October, 30, 2024 (WAFA) – 

Several civilians were killed and others were injured at dawn after the Israeli occupation forces bombed tents housing displaced people in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip and the city of Khan Younus in the south.

Local sources said that the occupation fighter jets bombed a tent housing displaced people in the city of Dair El-Bala'h and tents of displaced people in the Pyramids area northwest of Khan Younus, which led to the killing of at least two people and the injury of others.

Meanwhile, dozens of citizens were also killed in the occupation's bombing of a house in the Sheikh Nasser area in the city of Khan Younus.

According to medical sources, three people, including a girl and a woman, were killed after the occupation warplanes bombed the house of the Al-Farra family in the Sheikh Nasser area east of the city of Khan Younus.

The occupation forces also bombed the surroundings of Al-Saftawi area north of Gaza City and the homes of citizens in the city of Rafa'h in the southern Gaza Strip.

Dozens of casualties in new Israeli massacre in Bait Lahya

The Israeli occupation army committed a new massacre in northern Gaza, killing and injuring dozens of civilians following an aerial attack on a residential block in Bait Lahya on Tuesday evening.

19 people were martyred and dozens were either injured or reported missing under the rubble following Israeli airstrikes on three houses near the Salim Abu Muslim Mosque in Bait Lahya City, according to a reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC).

“A new massacre has been committed in Bait Lahya, and citizens are asking for help from the civil defense and ambulance crews, but unfortunately the northern Gaza governorate has no civil defense and medical services,” the civil defense service said in social media remarks.

This came as the healthcare system has completely collapsed in northern Gaza, amid tight Israeli siege on the local residents and nonstop attacks on homes and shelters.

On Tuesday morning, the Israeli army committed a horrific massacre in Bait Lahya when its warplanes bombed a five-story apartment building housing about 150 displaced civilians. At least 93 were martyred and dozens were either injured or reported missing in this Israeli attack.

4 Palestinians injured in IOFs raid

Four Palestinian citizens, including a minor, were injured after the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) stormed Bait Ummar town, north of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), south of the West Bank.

Medical sources affirmed that a 16-year-old teen was injured by the IOFs gunfire in the Bait Ummar raid.

Local sources said that three other people suffered rubber bullet injuries as clashes erupted during the raid.

The clashes broke out when the IOFs violently stormed the town amid heavy fire of live ammunition and rubber bullets.

IOFs storm West Bank areas, raid currency exchange offices

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) stormed at dawn different West Bank areas, assaulted some Palestinian citizens and raided currency exchange offices in Ramallah.

According to local sources, the IOFs stormed Bait Ummar town in northern Ramallah, raided homes and clashed with local youths.

The Israeli occupation forces also stormed Qalqilya City, fired stun grenades in its main market, ambushed local young men, and assaulted one of them before releasing him, amid drone over flights.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers detained a young man for a while and severely beat him before letting him go.

In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), a large number of Israeli police stormed Al-Shuhada neighborhood in Shu'fat refugee camp, with no reported kidnappings.

In Ramallah, the IOF raided several currency exchange offices in Al-Balou' neighborhood and put up military notices ordering their closure.

The Israeli occupation forces also stormed at dawn the eastern area of Nablus City to secure the area for the illegal Israeli Jewish settlers who flocked to Joseph’s tomb for rituals.

The IOFs reportedly clashed with local youths and resistance fighters after they spread in the eastern area of Nablus.

Meanwhile, resistance fighters opened fire at Israeli forces in Balata Al-Balad in eastern Nablus and detonated an explosive device at their vehicles.

Over 10 Palestinians detained by Israeli army in the West Bank

RAMALLAH, October, 30, 2024 (WAFA) – 

Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 10 Palestinians from the West Bank during the last 24 hours, according to a joint statement by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society.

The detentions occurred across various provinces, including Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, Qalqilya, and Jerusalem. According to the statement, these detentions have been characterized by widespread raids and violent treatment of detainees, including severe beatings and threats against both the arrested individuals and their families, along with destruction of property in their homes.

Since the onset of the ongoing Israeli genocidal onslaught against the Palestinian people in October 2023, the total number of Palestinians detained by Israeli troops in the West Bank has surpassed 11,500, including those from Jerusalem, the statement added.

Additionally, reports indicate that the Israeli military continues to detain civilians from Gaza, particularly in the northern regions, including women, children, and medical personnel.

Human rights organizations have noted that since the start of the offensive, they have been unable to accurately track the number of detentions in Gaza, which are estimated to be in the thousands.

Israeli colonists surround Palestinian house with barbed wire near Aree'ha (Jericho)

Israeli colonists today surrounded a house in the 'Arab Al-Mulai'hat community, northwest of Aree'ha (Jericho), with barbed wire.

'Hasan Al-Mulai'hat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baidar organization for the defense of Bedouin rights, said that colonists installed barbed wire around the house of the family of citizen Suleiman Musa Ka'abna in the 'Arab Al-Mulai'hat community, in a blatant challenge to the citizens and a violation of their most basic human rights.

He pointed out that the house is made of bricks and zinc and houses 7 people, including his wife and children, who expressed their fear as they left and entered their home.

Al-Mulai'hat  added that citizen Ka'abna suffers from an injury in his foot that prevents him from moving.

Israeli colonists plant trees on Palestinian lands in Jordan valley

JORDAN VALLEY, October, 30, 2024 (WAFA) – 

Israeli colonists today began planting trees on Palestinian lands near the village of Al-'Ain Al-Baidha in the northern Jordan Valley.

Human rights activist 'Aarif Daraghma reported that a group of Israeli colonist embarked on planting olive trees this morning on agricultural lands to the south of the village of Al-'Ain Al-Baidha.

Yesterday, the colonists began bulldozing and plowing these lands in preparation for planting and seizing them, noting that they are owned by the Tabu of citizens from the village of Al-'Ain Al-Baidha, and their owners use them for agriculture.

In recent years, colonists' seizure of citizens' lands in the areas and villages of the northern Jordan Valley has surged significantly.

3398 Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli prisons, including 90 children

3,398 Palestinian administrative detainees are currently held in Israeli prisons, including 90 children and 30 women, a joint statement by the Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society revealed on Wednesday.

Since administrative detainees in Israeli prisons make up 33% of all prisoners, the joint statement pointed out that the crime of administrative detention has increased in a way never seen before.

Since the start of the genocide war on October 7 last year, the Israeli authorities have issued over 9,500 administrative detention orders.

There are 90 children held in administrative detention, including a 14-year-old child, 'Ammar Abdul Kareem.

The statement pointed out that more than 11,500 arrests were carried out in the West Bank during the same reported period.

10,100 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in Israeli jails amid very difficult detention conditions.

UN report: 90% of Gaza population faces severe food insecurity

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) warned that by November more than 90% of Gaza population will face severe food insecurity.

In a statement on Tuesday, WFP expressed deep concern over the new Israeli legislation banning UNRWA which is indispensable in providing lifesaving aid in Gaza, stressing that food systems in Gaza have collapsed significantly due to the destruction of factories and agricultural lands, while stores and markets have become almost empty.

The WFP warns that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza could soon escalate into famine unless immediate action is taken, adding that “as winter approaches, the lack of food and other vital humanitarian supplies entering the Strip will likely lead to catastrophic consequences.”

The UN Program explained that it currently has approximately 94,000 metric tons of food, enough to feed one million people for four months, ready to go to Gaza.

The World Food Program said it “stands ready to bring the urgently needed supplies into Gaza, but we need more border crossing points to be open and for them to be secure.”

UN Security Council warns against Israel’s UNRWA ban

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) expressed grave concern over Israel’s ban on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestinian refugees, calling it vital to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid supplies to the people in Gaza.

“The Members of the Security Council strongly warned against any attempts to dismantle or diminish UNRWA’s operations and mandate, recognizing that any interruption or suspension of its work would have severe humanitarian consequences for millions of Palestinian refugees who depend on the Agency’s services and also implications for the region,” said the UNSC statement.

It came after the adoption of bills by the Israeli Knesset against UNRWA to prevent it from operating in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

“The Members of the Security Council demanded to all parties to enable UNRWA to carry out its mandate, as adopted by the General Assembly, in all areas of operation, with full respect for the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence, and to respect international humanitarian law including the protection of UN and humanitarian facilities,” said the statement.

It also demanded that all parties take necessary steps to allow and facilitate humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza, in accordance with international humanitarian law.

The UNSC also called on Israel to “abide by its international obligations” and “respect the privileges and immunities” of the agency.

Greece reiterates demand for WWII reparations from Germany

Greece seeks approximately €300 billion ($326 billion), based on a 2016 parliamentary report.

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou renewed her country's call for reparations from Germany for World War II damages during a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Athens on Wednesday.

Referring to a 2019 Greek parliamentary resolution, Sakellaropoulou stressed the importance of addressing Greece's unpaid war reparations and a forced occupation loan taken by the Nazis, which she said represents "open wounds" for the Greek people.

She suggested that resolving these issues could help strengthen Greek-German relations.

Germany, however, maintains its longstanding position on the matter.

Steinmeier reiterated Germany's view that the issue is "legally closed," though he acknowledged Germany's "historical responsibility" and expressed commitment to honoring that responsibility in other ways.

This stance has been consistent since a 1960 payment from Germany to Greece of around $64 million which Berlin considers a final settlement.

€300 billion worth of reparations

The reparations debate has been a point of contention for decades.

Greece seeks approximately €300 billion ($326 billion), based on a 2016 parliamentary report assessing wartime losses, fatalities, and the loan the Nazis forced from Greece's Central Bank.

The Greek Parliament formally demanded these reparations in 2019, but German officials have repeatedly asserted that the matter is resolved.

Steinmeier's visit to Greece included a tour of the under-construction Holocaust Museum in Thessaloniki and an upcoming visit to the village of Kandanos in Crete, which suffered severe losses under Nazi occupation.

The two leaders also discussed current cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, and education, as well as international issues impacting both nations.

Poland demands $1.32 trl reparations from Germany for WWII damages

Warsaw votes to adopt reparations demand from Berlin for damages made by Nazi Germany, however, the research on which the total cost has been assessed is a PiS research which has been deemed as flawed by history experts.

By a majority vote of 418 to 4, the reparations law was adopted by both the opposition and Poland's ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party.

The lower chamber of Poland's parliament voted on Wednesday to demand Germany pay $1.3 trillion in reparations for damages sustained during the Nazi era.

However, researchers claim that some of the atrocities mentioned by Warsaw were really perpetrated by Poles, making the demand contentious.

Since PiS came to office in 2015, the party has demanded reparations from Germany. A 2019 estimate indicated the apparent cost of the Nazi occupation at $850 billion, but research commissioned by the party and released earlier this month increased the figure to 6.2 trillion zlotys ($1.32 trillion).

When the study was released, PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynsk said that the estimate was "conservative" and that Germany could pay it. Berlin paying up would promote "true Polish-German reconciliation," he added.

Germany has contended that Poland relinquished its right to reparations in agreements signed with East Germany in 1953 by its communist government and in agreements reached with the USSR, US, UK, and France in 1990 by East and West Germany. Poland responded by claiming that the 1953 pact was made under Soviet pressure and that it was not a party to the 1990 negotiations.

In a direct critique of the reparations research by the PiS, Jan Grabowski, a Polish-born professor and Holocaust researcher at the University of Ottawa, told the Times of Israel last week that “It is a purely political document with no historical value.”
