While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Death toll across Gaza Strip surges to 43,665, over 103,076 injured

GAZA, November, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces committed five massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the last 48 hours (November 11-12, 2024), resulting in the killing of at least 62  Palestinians and the injury of 147 others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

They confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7, 2023 has risen to 43,665 reported fatalities, with an additional 103,076 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

According to the same sources, emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to obstruct the movement of ambulance and civil defense crews.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Israeli genocidal war on Gaza enters Day 403

Tuesday 12-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 403nd consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation army carried out attacks on several homes, civilian targets and shelter centers in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, killing and injuring dozens of citizens.

The Israeli army’s large-scale genocidal campaign in northern Gaza, especially in Jabalya and Bat Lahya, has entered day 39, where its forces continue to intensively bomb homes and shelters and attack civilians while imposing a tight siege on the entire area.

Deliberate Israeli attacks on ambulance and civil defense workers already deprived northern Gaza of any rescue services.

According to local sources, Israeli forces encircled in the morning four shelter centers housing thousands of displaced people in Bait 'Hanoun City, northeast of the Gaza Strip, amid intensive gunfire and artillery attacks.

Later, media sources said that Israeli soldiers stormed the shelter centers, kidnaped the men, and forced women and children to walk towards Salahuddeen road.

Eyewitnesses reported that several displaced citizens were killed and others were injured in an Israeli artillery attack that targeted the street in front of the Mahdiya Al-Shawwa shelter center in Bait 'Hanoun.

The Israeli army also massacred an entire family after bombing the house of Jamal Shabbat in Bait 'Hanoun.

Other massacres were reported following Israeli attacks on the houses of Al-Kafarna and 'Awda families in Bait 'Hanoun.

A number of people were either martyred or injured when the Israeli army targeted a motorcycle in northern Rafa'h, south of Gaza.

Nine citizens were also killed and others were injured in an Israeli attack in Musabbi'h area, north of Rafa'h.

In central Gaza, the Israeli army bombed a gathering of civilians near the UNRWA clinic in Al-Ba'hr street in Dair El-Bala'h, killing six of them.

An Israeli drone also dropped a bomb on a group of citizens in Tabbat Al-Nuwairi area in the west of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza, injuring a number of them.

On Monday evening, 10 civilians were killed and others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on tents sheltering displaced families in Al-Mawasi area in the west of Khan Younus, south of Gaza.

More casualties were reported in different areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today.

Thirteen civilians killed in Israel's ongoing bombardment of different areas in Gaza

GAZA, November 12, 2024 (WAFA) -

Several civilians were killed and others were injured on Tuesday evening in Israel’s ongoing bombardment of different areas in the war-torn Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent reported that 11 civilians were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli drone shelling targeting a group of civilians to the north of the city of Rafa'h in the southern Strip.

Two civilians were also killed and others were injured in the Israeli bombing of a house in the Sabra neighborhood south of Gaza City.

Several other civilians were injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted the Jabalya Al-Nazla area in the north.

The occupation artillery shelled the western part of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in the middle of the Strip.

The occupation’s ongoing aggression by land, sea, and air on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in the killing of 43,665 people and the injury of 103,076 others.

Thousands of victims remain missing; either buried under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as rescue teams face tremendous difficulties in reaching them due to the continued Israeli attacks and the massive amount of debris.

Israeli bombing kills several Palestinians, injures others in Gaza

GAZA, November 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli bombing Tuesday evening killed several Palestinians and injured others in the cities of Gaza and Khan Younus, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that an Israeli bombing targeted a group of civilians in Qizan Rashwan neighborhood, southwest of Khan Younus city in the southern Strip, killing at least one.

He added that Israeli fighter jets targeted a house in the al-Karameh neighbourhood, northwest of Gaza City, resulting in the killing of several civilians and injuring others.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces completely burned down Mahdiya Al-Shawa School, which was sheltering displaced Palestinians in Bait 'Hanoun, northern Gaza, causing extensive destruction.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 43,665 Palestinians and injuring over 103,076 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Six civilians killed, others injured in Israeli airstrikes on gathering of civilians in Gaza

GAZA, November, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Palestine Red Crescent paramedics reported that the bodies of six slain Palestinians were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Dair El-Bala'h city in the central Gaza Strip, after an Israeli drone targeted a gathering of citizens near the agency's clinic on Al-Bahr Street in the city.

In a similar attack, one civilian and about 20 wounded were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital west of Gaza City after an Israeli drone bombed the Abu Iskandar area in Sheikh Radhwan neighborhood north of the city.

Al-'Awda Hospital in Al-Nusayrat received this morning the bodies of three slain Palestinians and 11 wounded as a result of a bombing that targeted a house in the Al-Ra'hma neighborhood.

The death toll since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to about 43,603, while the number of wounded has exceeded 102,929 people.

Humanitarian and medical teams are still facing great difficulties in reaching thousands of victims, who are trapped under the rubble or in areas that are difficult to reach, in light of the ongoing bombing of the Strip.

Palestinian Journalist Mahdi Al-Mamlouk killed in Israeli bombing of Gaza

Tuesday 12-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Palestinian journalist Mahdi 'Hasan Al-Mamlouk, working with Al-Quds Al-Youm TV channel, was killed in an Israeli bombing on Monday evening in Gaza City.

Al-Quds Al-Youm TV channel mourned the journalist Al-Mamlouk, an engineer in the satellite broadcasting department, who was killed in an Israeli attack on Gaza City.

Al-Mamlouk’s killing brings the total number of Palestinian journalists who were killed during the ongoing Israeli genocide on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, to 190 martyrs, including the journalist Mu'hammed Khurais, who was killed with his family yesterday in an Israeli attack on their displacement tent in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp.

In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 403rd consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas.

Israeli occupation army forcibly evacuates 130 families from Bait 'Hanoun amid intense bombardment

GAZA, November, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation army forced hundreds of citizens to forcibly evacuate from shelters and a residential area in the town of Bait 'Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip, under heavy gunfire and artillery shelling.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation army besieged 130 families inside shelters in the town of Bait 'Hanoun and the surrounding houses, and forced those inside to evacuate under gunfire.

Eyewitnesses said that the displaced people left under hail of gunfire from the shelters and neighboring houses towards Salah al-Din Street, which connects the north of the Gaza Strip to its south.

The witnesses indicated that the town is witnessing heavy artillery shelling, coinciding with gunfire from the occupation vehicles.

In the same context, medical sources reported that three civilians were killed and others were injured when the occupation shelled three houses belonging to the Abu Odeh, Shabat and Kafarna families in the town of Bait 'Hanoun.

In Gaza City, rescue teams recovered the bodies of three slain Palestinians after the occupation forces bombed an apartment belonging to the Al-Amasi family on Al-Jalaa Street, north of the city.

Eyewitnesses said that huge explosions were heard as a result of the demolition of residential buildings north of Gaza City, coinciding with artillery shelling west of Jabalia camp, north of the Strip.

On October 5, the Israeli occupation forces invaded the northern Gaza Strip again, under the pressure of continuous shelling and a tight siege that prevents the entry of food, water and medicine.

The Israeli occupation authorities continue their massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) shot and killed a Palestinian young man at the Dair Sharaf military checkpoint northwest of Nablus in the northern West Bank on Tuesday evening.

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victim as 'Izzuddeen Takrouri.

Ambulance crews were prevented from approaching the victim’s body, it added.

The IOFs immediately closed the checkpoint following the incident and prevented Palestinian movement in both directions after confiscating a vehicle believed to belong to the young man.

Israeli occupation forces shoot and injure Palestinian youth northwest of Nablus

NABLUS, November 12, 2024 (WAFA) -

Israeli occupation forces Tuesday shot and injured a Palestinian young man near the town of Dair Sharaf northwest of Nablus. Details about his identity and the severity and nature of his injuries remain unknown until the moment.

The military checkpoint near Dair Sharaf, similar to other Israeli checkpoints, serves as a tool for controlling Palestinian residents, exacerbating their daily struggles and restricting their freedom of movement.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have intensified their repressive and collective punishment measures across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. This escalation included the increased use of military checkpoints and other restrictive measures aimed at controlling the movement and lives of Palestinian citizens.

Over 15 Palestinians kidnapped by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank

RAMALLAH, November, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces conducted a series of detentions across the West Bank overnight, detaining at least 15 Palestinians, including two siblings and former detainees, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) and the Palestinian Authority’s Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.

The raids targeted several areas in the West Bank, including the cities of Hebron, Ramallah, Qalqilya, Nablus, Salfeet, and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), and were accompanied by violent raids on homes, widespread destruction of property, and threats made against detainees and their families. In some cases, Israeli occupation forces ransacked homes, destroying personal belongings and confiscating items without explanation.

Among those kidnapped were former detainees who had already spent time in Israeli prisons, as well as brothers who were detained together. The detentions are part of a broader campaign of repression that has intensified in the wake of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people, which began in October 2023.

In the northern West Bank, the Israeli occupation forces stormed Silat Al-Dthahr town, south of Jineen, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.

In Occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli forces arrested two ex-prisoners after breaking into Qalandya refugee camp.

The IOF continued to besiege Al-Khadir town, south of Bethlehem, claiming to be chasing the perpetrator of a run-over attack on soldiers near the Balou' Triangle. At least one young man was injured in the town.

In Al-Khaleel (Hebron), the IOFs broke into Sa’ir town and arrested three citizens, including a father and his son.

During the raid, the Israeli forces stormed and violently searched the martyr Jalal Jabbareen’s family house.

Meanwhile, a group of Jewish settlers stabbed a Palestinian and injured him in the Bait Jala, area near Bait La'hm (Bethlehem).

Earlier Monday, another group of settlers attacked and stoned a Palestinian car in Burqa village, east of Ramallah.

The village of Burqa is constantly subjected to settler attacks under military protection.

In Nablus, Israeli forces attacked local farmers while picking olives and forced them to leave their lands in Khirbet Yanoun area.

While the Israeli occupation apartheid regime continues its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, the illegal Israeli settlers have ramped up their attacks on people, in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank, often under the protection of Israeli soldiers.

Israeli occupation forces tighten military restrictions around Nablus

NABLUS, November 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Tuesday evening tightened their military restrictions around the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local and security sources.

They said that the occupation forces sealed off the permanently staffed checkpoint at the western entrance of Deit Sharaf in both directions, under the pretext of carrying out an attempted stabbing attack.

The occupation forces also tightened access restrictions at the permanently staffed checkpoint of al-Muraba’ah and intermittently staffed checkpoint of ‘Awarta, southwest and south of Nablus respectively, stopping Palestinian-registered vehicles, inspecting passengers’ ID cards and causing heavy traffic jams.

Israel severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions.

Closures besides other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.

Illegal Israeli settlers steal olive harvest in Salfeet-area village

Salfeet, November 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Illegal sraeli settlers Tuesday evening stole the olive harvest from lands in the village of Yasouf, east of Salfeet, according to a local official.

Head of Yasouf village council, Wa-il Abu Madhi, told WAFA that colonists stole four sacks of olives and picking tools owned by a local resident, and also assaulted him and his family.

The annual olive harvest in the West Bank is a key element of the Palestinian economy and a crucial source of income for tens of thousands of families.

“For years, settler violence against Palestinians has peaked during the harvest season, yet Israeli authorities consistently refrain from taking preventive action as a matter of policy. This year, with the war in Gaza underway, the military has enlisted many settlers for regional operations in the West Bank. The settlers have used this power to block roads leading to Palestinian land and to set up roadblocks on agricultural roads, denying Palestinians access to olive groves near settlements,” said the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in Occupied Territories, B’Tselem.

“Settler attacks on harvesters have increased in both intensity and frequency since the war began,” said the center.

Israeli Knesset submits draft law to restrict activities of the Palestinian Authority, the PLO, and the Fat'h Movement

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), November 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Member of the Israeli Knesset and Chairman of the Jewish Power party, Yitzhak Kreuzer submitted a draft law restricting the activities of the Palestinian National Authority, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and the Fat'h Movement in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) and its surrounding towns and refugee camps.

The law grants the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the authority to issue orders to close and ban any headquarters or activity, and to deport those who initiate it outside those areas.

Since the Knesset resumed its winter session on October 27, 2024, a set of laws with a racist colonial character has been passed.

Slovenian Foreign Minister says Israel is openly trying to destroy UN institutions

GAZA, November, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon said on Tuesday that Israel is consciously and openly trying to destroy the United Nations institutions.

Fajon told Slovenian Radio and Television that she was among the first to call for an arms embargo on Israel.

She noted that her country is studying legal possibilities to prevent the import of products from the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel.

She added, "It is clear that Israel is consciously and openly trying to destroy the United Nations institutions, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA)."

It is noteworthy that the Israeli Knesset approved on October 28 a ban on UNRWA activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, in a move condemned by regional, European and Western countries and international organizations.

Fajon described the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to genocide by Israel for more than a year, as the "darkest" place where lives have been lost since World War II.

She stressed that her country is respected because it has shown the same position from the beginning, adding: "We stand behind what we said and are committed to it, and we condemn the Israeli attacks on Lebanon from the beginning."

The Slovenian Foreign Minister pointed out that ensuring a ceasefire should be a priority for everyone.

She continued, "I always want to be optimistic that a ceasefire will be achieved. Peace should be the main word. If the conflicts expand, we will have big problems."

UNRWA warns aid trickling Gaza Strip further dwindling

GAZA, November 12, 2024 (WAFA) --

The United Nations agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) Tuesday warned that the little aid trickling into the war-torn Gaza Strip had further dwindled.

Briefing reporters in Geneva from central Gaza, UNRWA senior emergency officer Louise Wateridge warned that "aid entering the Gaza Strip is at its lowest level in months".

Addressing a Geneva media briefing via video-link from Gaza on the situation in the besieged northern Strip, Wateridge stressed that the volume of aid currently entering the war-torn enclave is “the lowest in months”, with an average in October of only 37 trucks per day for the entire 2.2 million population.

According to UNRWA, this represents about six per cent of the commercial and humanitarian supplies allowed in before the war.

Commenting on the situation in the besieged northern Strip, which UNRWA described in a news feed as “a place of dead bodies lying in the streets and hospitals running out of blood packs,” Wateridge said that the situation was “nothing short of catastrophic”.

She warned that amid looming famine in the Gaza Strip, as winter approaches, those forcibly displaced are sleeping on the floor in makeshift shelters surrounded by sewage.

“We are extremely concerned when the rains come to the Gaza Strip, what will happen to 500,000 people who are in areas of flooding?” she said.

Asked about a Tuesday deadline set last month by the United States for Israel to improve the aid situation in the enclave, the UNRWA official said that instead, “aid supplies have lessened”.

The UN continues to be denied access to northern Gaza, she said, where people are “begging for pieces of bread, for water”. Wateridge added that 1.7 million people in the enclave, or some 80 per cent of the population, did not receive their food rations in October.

Last Friday, food security experts from the UN-partnered Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) Famine Review Committee issued an alert over imminent famine in areas within the northern Gaza Strip.

As suffering continues to worsen, “people are losing hope”, Wateridge said.

Just this week, two missions to northern Gaza which she was to take part in were denied; the aim had been to deliver chlorine tablets and assess the facilities of those sheltering.

“No one from UNRWA has been able to access the besieged north in over a month,” she said.

The UNRWA official spoke of “pleas and testimonies” from UN colleagues and from doctors in the hospitals in the north, which have been bombed. “The doctors inform us that they have run out of blood supplies. They have run out of medicine… There are bodies in the streets,” she said, adding that ambulances have “stopped functioning” and that people can only get to hospital by themselves, on donkey carts.

“Colleagues are trapped in residential buildings,” unable to leave, Wateridge said, while the eight UNRWA-run water wells in northern Gaza’s Jabaliya have all ceased operations, leaving people without clean water.

The UNRWA senior emergency officer reiterated the agency’s call to the Israeli occupation authorities for access to the besieged areas, which is becoming “more and more critical each hour now”.

Late last month, the Israeli Parliament voted to ban UNRWA from operating in the country and prohibit officials from having any contact with the agency. The laws are set to come into force 90 days from their adoption.

She reiterated the UNRWA’s call for an immediate ceasefire, adding that it was unacceptable that the war continued and civilians suffered.

“There needs to be a ceasefire, a release and return of the hostages home and finally some respite to all the civilians, not just in the Gaza Strip, but the surrounding region,” she concluded.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafah, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Israel's Netanyahu joins the far right government in its call for imposing Israeli sovereignty over West Bank

TEL AVIV, November, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has joined the far-right in his government, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, in calling for the annexation of the West Bank and the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over it.

Netanyahu said during talks in recent days that "the possibility of presenting the annexation plan for large areas in the West Bank to Israel must be restored," according to the Israeli radio station Kan.

Kan claimed that "work on the annexation is ready for implementation," noting that a team headed by Minister Yariv Levin in 2020 had established regulations and orders and drafted a government decision on this plan, which included paving roads to all colonies, including random outposts, and annexing areas of land to them for the purpose of expanding them.

During the Religious Zionism party's weekly faction meeting in the Knesset, Smotrich stated that there is broad consensus now in both the coalition and opposition in the Knesset to oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state, which he said would pose a threat to the existence of Israel.

UN says Israel denied 85% of its attempts to coordinate aid convoys to Gaza

NEW YORK, November 11, 2024 (WAFA) -

The United Nations said 85% of its attempts to coordinate aid convoys and humanitarian visits to northern Gaza were denied or obstructed by Israeli authorities last month.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said it had submitted 98 requests to the Israeli authorities for permission to cross the checkpoint along the Gaza Valley, but only 15 were granted, according to UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

Dujarric said OCHA was “concerned about the fate of Palestinians remaining in northern Gaza as the blockade continues and urgently calls on Israel to open the area to humanitarian operations to the extent necessary given the massive needs.”

He pointed out that “over the past three days, teams from OCHA, UN human rights agencies, demining and other humanitarian groups have visited nine locations in Gaza City to assess the needs of hundreds of displaced families, many of whom are returning to northern Gaza.”

In a new report published on Monday, OCHA said that humanitarian organizations submitted 50 requests to the Israeli authorities to enter northern Gaza in October, 33 of which were rejected and eight were accepted but faced obstacles, including delays, that prevented them from completing their tasks, according to the spokesman.

This comes at a time when the undeclared famine in northern Gaza is intensifying, with more than 50 days of the Israeli occupation forces preventing the entry of any aid or goods to the hundreds of thousands of residents trapped there, who are being subjected, according to UN agencies, to the most violent campaign of genocide to eliminate them through killing and forced displacement.

Aid groups: Israel fails to comply with US aid access demands in Gaza

Tuesday 12-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

International humanitarian groups on Tuesday said that Israel had failed to meet a series of US demands for humanitarian assistance access aiming at improving aid flow into Gaza.

Their statement came as the deadline set by the US for the requests was reached.

On Oct. 13, the US secretaries of state and defense issued a letter demanding that Israel make concrete progress within 30 days on measures to reverse the spiraling humanitarian situation.

“Israel not only failed to meet the U.S. criteria that would indicate support for the humanitarian response but concurrently took actions that dramatically worsened the situation on the ground, particularly in Northern Gaza,” the group of eight organizations, including OXFAM, Save the Children and the Norwegian Refugee Council, said in a 19-page report.

“That situation is in an even more dire state today than a month ago,” they lamented.

They said, “People are being starved in Gaza: Israeli military operations have denied them critical food aid and basic necessities, which has, in turn, caused conditions approaching famine for 800,000 Palestinian civilians across Gaza.”

“Conditions are worst in Gaza’s north, where Israel launched a major operation in October that has cut off humanitarian aid to the area.”

They cited the Inter-Agency Standing Committee’s recent assessment, which stated that “the entire Palestinian population in North Gaza is at imminent risk of dying from disease, famine, and violence.”

“Israel should be held accountable for the end result of failing to ensure the adequate provision of food, medical, and other supplies to reach people in need,” they urged.

Louise Wateridge, UNRWA’s senior emergency officer in Gaza, briefed reporters in Geneva from central Gaza, saying the volume of aid currently entering the besieged enclave is “the lowest in months,” while access to the north is becoming almost “impossible” as no UNRWA personnel have been able to access it in over a month.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
