In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. It added in a statement that its rescue teams extinguished a fire that broke out in a car targeted by an Israeli air raid. The Civil Defense said that four bodies were recovered from the car while other parties took them to hospital. ýAn Israeli march targets a car in the Tyre area with more than one missileý ýAn Israeli march targeted a car in the town of Bavleh (Tyre district), and fired more than one rocket at it before it was able to hit it. Ambulance teams went to the scene and were working to transport more than two people inside.ý ýTeams from the Civil Defense of the Islamic Health Authority in the Jabal 'Amil Al-'Oula area worked to extinguish the fire that broke out inside the car, as a result of being targeted by an enemy Israeli march on the Bavle-Arzon highway, and the teams also worked to transfer the injured to hospitals in the area.ý ý*** Palestinian Ministry of Health: Patients and wounded in danger of imminent death as Israeli occupation forces block crossings Thursday 9-May-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian Ministry of Health has said that the Israeli occupation army is committing a new genocide by closing crossings and preventing entry and exit, especially for the travel of the wounded and patients, as well as the entry of medical supplies, food trucks, and the necessary fuel to operate hospitals. The ministry added in a statement on Thursday that every hour some of the wounded, who were waiting to travel to neighboring countries, die due to the Israeli control and closure of the crossing, preventing the wounded individuals from traveling. The Ministry of Health pointed out that the only kidney dialysis center in Rafa'h governorate has stopped operating due to shelling and the Israeli threats. It added that the wounded and patients are facing slow death due to the lack of treatment and supplies, while being unable to travel. The ministry stated that it has sent lists to neighboring countries, including referrals for wounded and patients of all age groups, especially cancer patients, liver transplant patients, and kidney transplant patients, who have been unable to travel due to the Israeli closure of the crossing. The ministry issued an urgent humanitarian appeal to exert pressure on Israel and take immediate action to save the lives of these patients and wounded individuals, and to open the crossings for the entry of necessary medical and relief trucks to the hospitals. By May 8, 2024, the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the death of 34,844 citizens and the injury of 78,404 others, in addition to the displacement of approximately 1.7 million people from the population of the Gaza Strip, according to data from the United Nations. *** A victory for student uprising: Free University of Brussels ends collaboration with Israeli institutions Thursday 9-May-2024 BRUSSELS, (PIC) The Free University of Brussels in Belgium has announced its withdrawal from a scientific project on artificial intelligence that involved two Israeli institutions, in light of the war on Gaza. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the university explained that the decision to withdraw from the scientific project was made after an evaluation conducted by the Ethics Committee. The statement further mentioned that the university, following the recent developments in Gaza, has decided to conduct a comprehensive review of all research projects involving Israeli partners. The statement affirmed that the Free University of Brussels does not have any bilateral cooperation with Israel and is determined to continue its partnerships with Palestinian institutions. Students from the university had participated in protests that began in the United States and spread to Europe, condemning Israel’s attacks on Gaza. *** Yemeni Armed Forces target two Israeli ships in Gulf of Aden Thursday 9-May-2024 SANAA, (PIC) The Yemeni Armed Forces announced carrying out a joint operation by naval forces, unmanned air force, and missile force, against two Israeli ships in the Gulf of Aden. The Yemeni forces (run by the Ansar Allah group) said, in a statement on Thursday, that they targeted the two Israeli ships of MSC DIEGO and MSC GINA in the Gulf of Aden. The statement revealed that “the targeting was carried out with a number of ballistic missiles and drones, and thanks to Allah, the strike was accurate.” It also announced that “the missile force carried out two key operations targeting the MSC VITTORIA ship. The first took place in the Indian Ocean, while the other was carried out against the same ship in the Arabian Sea,” adding “thanks to Allah, the strike was direct.” The Yemeni Armed Forces said these operations come “in support of the Palestinian people and in response to the American-British aggression against our country.” The Yemeni Forces underlined that they are following developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and will not hesitate to escalate their military operations in the face of the oppression of the Palestinian people. They confirmed their intention to continue preventing the Israeli navigation towards the ports of 1948 occupied Palestine in the declared operations zone until the siege is lifted and the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is halted. *** Rishiq: Israel not serious in reaching an agreement Thursday 9-May-2024 DOHA, (PIC) Political Bureau member of 'Hamas Movement, 'Izzat Al-Rishiq has charged that Israel was not serious about reaching an agreement on Gaza and was exploiting the negotiations to cover for its military offensive on Rafa'h. He added in a press release on Wednesday that Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu was resorting to unjustified pretexts to evade concluding an agreement and was blaming Hamas and the mediators. 'Hamas’s approval of the mediators’ proposals had confused Netanyahu, Rishiq said, adding that his Movement was still bound by its approval of the proposals. *** Bahamas recognizes Palestine as a state Thursday 9-May-2024 Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC) The Bahamas Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Cabinet of The Bahamas has formally recognized Palestine as a state, adding that the country “joined the Caribbean Community’s consensus on this matter.” In a statement, the ministry said the Palestinian people have the legal right to “freely determine their political status”, joining growing international support for Palestinian statehood. “Recognition of the State of Palestine strongly demonstrates The Bahamas’ commitment to the principles espoused in the Charter of the United Nations and to the right of self-determination of peoples as articulated in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR),” the ministry further said. “The Bahamas has, in the past, endorsed the two-state solution as clearly articulated in the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 (1967) on a Peaceful and Accepted Settlement of the Middle East Situation,” it added. The 'Hamas Movement welcomed the move as “it serves the aspirations of our Palestinian people for liberation and independence, at a time when our people are being subjected to a systematic campaign of extermination and displacement at the hands of the criminal Zionist occupation army.” The Movement called on all countries to stand with the Palestinian people’s right to freedom, independence, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) as its capital. The number of countries that have recognized Palestine’s statehood at the UN level has recently increased, towards granting Palestine full membership at the UN. Palestine was accepted as an observer state of the UN General Assembly in 2012, allowing its envoy to take part in debates and UN events but without a vote. *** US says amount of humanitarian aid going into Gaza is 'unacceptable’ WASHINGTON, Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) - The US said that the level of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip is "unacceptable" and urged Israel to open the Rafa'h border crossing "as soon as possible," according to statements by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, as reported by Andalou Agency. "When it comes to the level of humanitarian assistance, the results as they are today are just unacceptable," Miller said, adding that the US is pushing Israel to reverse the decrease in assistance. Noting that there was also no entry of fuel through the Rafa'h crossing, which was seized by Israel following a limited invasion Tuesday, Miller said it is critical for the crossing to be opened for fuel. "We have made clear to them that they need to open the crossing as soon as possible," he said. He urged Israel to make sure that aid deliveries can come in, humanitarian aid workers can come in and go out too, and that the delivery of humanitarian assistance is not further impeded. K.T. *** Israel has forcibly displaced 80,000 Palestinian civilians from Rafa'h, says UNRWA RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli occupation forces have forcibly displaced about 80,000 Palestinians from the city of Rafa'h in the southern Gaza Strip, since the start of the attack three days ago. The city of Rafa'h is the last refuge for the displaced in the stricken Strip. Since the beginning of the ground operation launched by the occupation forces on the Gaza Strip on October 27th, Palestinian civilians were asked to go from the north and center of the Strip to the south, claiming that they are “safe areas.” Despite its narrow area, estimated at about 65 square kilometers, Rafa'h could accommodate more than 1.5 million Palestinians, facing miserable conditions inside thousands of tents spread throughout the city. K.T. *** Israelis in the North seek to partition, become 'State of Galilee' By Al-Mayadeen English Source: Israeli media Today 12:47 May 9, 2024 As a result of the loss of deterrence, the Israeli Conflict Zone Forum plans to announce the establishment of the "State of Galilee" and full separation from "Israel". Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meeting with heads of authorities in the North of occupied Palestine in November 2023. (Social media) During a meeting of "Israel's" Conflict Zone Forum, the leaders of the Israeli northern settlements decided to announce the establishment of the State of Galilee and fully separate from "Israel". According to Israeli news website Walla!, the step is set to be announced on "Independence Day". The media website explained that their decision was reached after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's dismissive response to Benny Gantz's inquiry about settlers returning home for the school year, saying, "What would happen if they return a few months after September 1?" This latest action follows the forum members' publication of protest advertisements in early April, where they publicly solicited bids to "locate the Israeli government." As cited by Israeli media, the ads read, "A public tender to locate a government in Israel!" and "The Conflict Zone Forum hereby invites proposals to be submitted to an alternative government in Israel as detailed in the tender documents." Most significant was the ad which depicted the extent of the despair of the Israeli settlers on the border with Lebanon that reads: "The full details of the tender can be found in the evacuated hotels and the accommodation apartments of the displaced throughout the country, with the business owners who collapsed in the north, in the dead tourism areas in the north, and in the offices of the authorities in the north." In parallel with these claims, settlers from abandoned settlements in northern occupied Palestine are planning demonstrations on May 16 in al-Quds and Haifa, advocating against a political agreement with Hezbollah and calling for security to be brought back to their region through military means. This comes in the context of the intensified and unprecedented operations carried out by the Lebanese Resistance in support of the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip. Nasrullah's terror balance that 'Israel' can't confront: Israeli media A new balance of terror has emerged in the North, one that "Israel" cannot live with even for a "single hour," an op-ed published by Israeli newspaper Maariv on Tuesday said. Avi Ashkenazi, the military correspondent of the newspaper, recalled in his piece the course of confrontation, the balance of combat, and the rules of engagement between Hezbollah and the occupation since before the withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000. "Any solution in the North requires decision-makers in Israel to work on dismantling this balance of terror," the author began by warning. According to the Ashkenazi, Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyid 'Hasan Nasrullah was able, before the Israeli withdrawal, and over the years, to create engagement rules in his favor in the "security belt in Lebanon," where "he decided that every Israeli attack on a civilian target would lead to rocket fire on Kiryat Shmona and settlements in the Galilee," and that the targets of the rocket launches varied between "open areas and inhibited ones." Later, this led to the debate within the occupation entity about the withdrawal to intensify, he said. T.R. *** Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip enters day 216 Thursday 9-May-2024 GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 216 on Thursday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians, especially in Rafa'h. Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes in different areas of Gaza, especially in Rafa'h where dozens of causalities were reported during the past 24 hours. The Israeli forces continued their aggression on Rafa'h for the third day, amid intensive air strikes and artillery shelling, and the total closure of the Rafa'h and Karm Abu Salim crossings. A woman was killed, and her son was seriously injured, in an Israeli air strike in the vicinity of Al-Dirawi Mosque in Dair El-Bala'h. Another Palestinian was killed during the intensive bombing of the southern areas of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Fires broke out in a number of homes due to the Israeli heavy artillery shelling surrounding Ali Mosque on Street 8, south of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. Early today, the occupation forces stormed the southern areas of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza, amid intense gunfire. They said that the occupation forces were committing genocide against the Palestinian people in the war-torn Strip by closing all border crossings and preventing travel and the entry of medical aid and fuel into the Strip. They added that with every hour, some of the casualties whose names are listed on records to travel outside the Strip for medical treatment were lost, i.e. died, and casualties and patients were undergoing a slow death, particularly given the lack of medical treatment and supplies and being prevented from travelling for overseas treatment. They pointed out that the sole dialysis center in the city of Rafa'h ceased to operate due to Israeli bombardment. Tried before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 34,904 Palestinians and injuring over 78,514 others. Moreover, at least 7,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip. Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children. The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba. K.F. *** Eight Palestinians killed, others injured in Israeli genocidal airstrikes on Gaza GAZA, Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Eight Palestinians were killed and others were injured in Israeli genocidal airstrikes on the Al-Barazil and Sabra neighborhoods in the blockaded Gaza Strip. In the Sabra neighborhood, east of the city of Gaza, emergency and rescue teams retrieved the bodies of five Palestinians and four casualties from under the rubble of the Abu Sharia family’s house that collapsed after being targeted by Israeli artillery bombardment. The search and rescue operation was still underway to search for ten people who are trapped under the rubble of the house. The Israeli occupation army announced the launching of a new extended offensive in Gaza city’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood overnight for the second time since October 7, 2023, and fired barrages of missiles and shells at homes and buildings, killing and wounding dozens, and burying many more under the rubble. Israel struck around 25 sites in the area before launching the offensive. Palestinian journalists in the city reported the presence of Israeli tanks advancing into the neighborhood, with many residents fleeing the area. Videos circulating on social media pages showed that the occupation soldiers forced a youth - whose identity is not yet known - to get out of his vehicle at a flying checkpoint set up near the entrance to the town of 'Anata, and beat him, after detaining him. This came along with a stifling traffic crisis caused by the occupation forces on the road linking the towns of 'Hizma and 'Anata, east of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). K.T. *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers
Illegal Israeli settlers stormAl-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Dozens of the illegal Israeli settlers Thursday morning stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) under the protection of the Israeli occupation regime police. Eyewitnesses said that colonists entered in groups from Al-Maghariba Gate, carried out provocative tours of its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals. The Israeli occupation police also turned the Old City into a military barracks, tightened military procedures, and imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers. It is noteworthy that extremist groups of the illegal Israeli settlers called for a major storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on the May 14th, as they plan to raise occupation flags inside. K.T *** Historic building of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) municipality seized, doors closed by IOFs Thursday 9-May-2024 Al-Khaleel (Hebron), (PIC) Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) closed the doors of the old building of Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Municipality in the West Bank, in the 'Ain 'Askar area in the city center, on Wednesday in preparation for seizing it. The official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that the IOFs closed the doors of the historical building using oxygen welding. The IOFs had notified Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Municipality about a year ago to evacuate the building in preparation for seizing it and handing it over to the illegal Israeli Jewish settlers. The mayor of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), Tayseer Abu Sunainah, considered this action a blatant assault on the municipality’s properties and facilities that it owned for long periods before the occupation, and placing obstacles to its use by the municipality. He emphasized that this building is a pure Palestinian heritage and that the issue of the building is still pending before the judiciary, as the municipality possesses all the legal and official documents proving its ownership of the building. He stressed that the municipality will continue to pursue the case at all legal levels and through the international community and its institutions to invalidate this violation that affects every Palestinian citizen in the city. The Israeli occupation authorities notified, on May 4, 2023, through a notice attached to the door of Al-Khaleel’s historical municipality building, the evacuation of the two-story building with an area of 205 square meters, and gave those in charge a period of 45 days to object. *** Israeli occupation army raids homes in Bait La'hm (Bethlehem)-area village Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Thursday raided a number of Palestinian homes in the village of Al-Minya, southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem). The head of the village council in Minya, Zayid Kawazbah, told WAFA that the occupation forces stormed the village, stationed themselves in Al-Nour neighborhood in the center of the village, and launched a massive raid campaign that targeted several homes, tampered with their contents, and assaulted their residents. He added that the Israeli occupation forces raided his house, and the house of his siblings. The Israeli occupation forces also closed the village, preventing entry into or exit from it, raised the Israeli flag on the roofs of citizens’ homes, and fired tear gas and sound bombs. K.T. *** Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces punitively detonate slain Palestinian’s family house in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) refugee camp Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces Thursday noon punitively detonated the family house of a slain Palestinian in the Shu'fat refugee camp, north of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)), according to local sources. They said that a sizable occupation force barged its way into the camp, surrounded a 10-floor residential building, and occupied the rooftops of surrounding buildings to use them as firing posts. They forced the building occupants out before proceeding to blow up the family house of Fadi Jamjoum, located on the eighth floor of the building, rendering his wife and four children homeless. This came several hours after a large force of the Israeli occupation army raided Jamjoum’s family house and planted explosives in its walls in preparation for the demolition. This forced local schools to shut down due to the Israeli military deployments and associated curfew. On February 18, the occupation forces stormed Jamjoum’s family house and took measurements of it several hours after Jamjoum was gunned down for carrying out an attack in southern Israel that resulted in killing two Israelis and injuring four others. The Jerusalem Governorate statistics show that during April the occupation authorities issued decisions, banning five Palestinians entry into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. They also show that nine demolitions and razing of Palestinian structures were carried out in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)in April. Israel usually resorts to punitively demolishing the family homes of Palestinians accused of being involved in attacks against Israelis as a means of deterrence, a policy that Israel does not apply to the illegal Israeli settlers who were involved in fatal attacks against Palestinians. The policy was widely condemned by human rights groups as “a collective punishment” and “a war crime and crime against humanity”. K.F. *** Fair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
