In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Click here for more about using the apostrophe and the underlining of letters in the transliteration of Arabic names. *** Despite Palestinian acceptance of the ceasefire proposal, Netanyahu’s War Cabinet unanimously votes for invading Rafa'h Tuesday 7-May-2024 Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC) Despite the Palestinian acceptance of the US-Qatari-Egyptian ceasefire proposal, the Israeli War Cabinet unanimously approved a military operation in the southern Gaza City of Rafah on Monday night, according to a statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. “The War Cabinet unanimously decided this evening that Israel will continue its operation in Rafa'h, in order to apply military pressure on 'Hamas to advance the release of our prisoners and achieve the other objectives of the war,” the statement reads. This came after the Hamas Movement declared its acceptance of an US-Egyptian-Qatari proposal for a ceasefire to halt the war in Gaza. Netanyahu’s office said the proposal (which 'Hamas accepted) was “far from Israel’s essential demands,” but that Israel would send a team of negotiators to Egypt. *** UN says fuel stock allocated for Gaza's humanitarian operations sufficient for one day only GENEVA, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations said on Tuesday that its stock of fuel allocated for humanitarian operations in the Gaza Strip is sufficient for only one day, due to the closure of the Rafa'h border crossing with Egypt by the occupation authorities. A spokesman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) told journalists that "we have a very small stock, enough for about one day,” explaining that fuel enters through Rafa'h only, and that this “stock is for the entirety” of the humanitarian operation in Gaza. K.T. *** Egypt condemns the Israeli attack on Rafa'h CAIRO, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – Egypt condemned the Israeli attack on the city of Rafa'h, which resulted in Israeli taking control over the Palestinian side of the Rafa'h crossing. In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, it said that this dangerous escalation threatens the lives of more than a million citizens who depend on this crossing as the main lifeline of the Gaza Strip, and the safe outlet for the wounded and sick to exit to receive treatment, and for the entry of humanitarian and relief aid. It called on the occupation authorities to exercise the utmost restraint and to avoid a policy of brinkmanship with long-term impact, which would threaten the fate of efforts made to reach a sustainable truce within the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry also called on all international parties to intervene and exert the necessary pressure to defuse the current crisis and allow diplomatic efforts to achieve their desired results. K.T. *** Director of Kuwait Hospital describes health conditions in Rafah as catastrophic GAZA, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – The director of Kuwait Hospital in the city of Rafa'h, south of the Gaza Strip, Suhaib Al-Hams, confirmed that the health situation in Rafa'h is catastrophic. Al-Hams said that Kuwait Hospital is the only one in the center of Rafa'h and is overwhelmed with seriously wounded patients and lacks sufficient medications and supplies. He added in a statements that the amount of food, beds, equipment, and fuel in the hospital is not sufficient to continue operating for a long time. The hospital receives dozens of martyrs and wounded, and that there are difficulties in dealing with them due to the lack of medical capabilities and supplies, stressing that the only x-ray machine in the hospital stopped working. Regarding the health situation in the city of Rafa'h, he said, Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, which is the only government hospital in Rafa'h, is among the areas that the occupation ordered to evacuate, and that there is no room to evacuate the hospital and there is no room for the wounded or the displaced. He called on the international community and the Arab and Islamic world to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the Israeli offensive against the city of Rafa'h. Since yesterday, the occupation forces began to invade the city of Rafa'h and ordered civilians in the eastern regions to evacuate. The Israeli occupation has deliberately forced civilians to flee from the north and center of the Gaza Strip to the cities of Khan Younus and Rafa'h in the south. Since the beginning of the ground operation launched by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip on the 27th, the city of Rafa'h, which estimated at about 65 square kilometers, has been the last refuge for displaced people and now includes more than 1.5 million civilians. Y.S. *** Israeli invasion of Rafah would be "intolerable", says UN Chief NEW YORK, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Monday that an Israeli ground invasion of the southern Gaza city of Rafa'h would be "intolerable" "I receive you Mr. President in a moment of great concern. I made today a very strong appeal to the government of Israel and to the leadership of Hamas in order to go an extra mile to materialize an agreement that is absolutely vital," Guterres said ahead of his meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella at UN headquarters in New York. "This is an opportunity that cannot be missed, and a ground invasion in Rafa'h would be intolerable because of its devastating humanitarian consequences and because of its destabilizing impact in the region," Guterres added. K.T. *** UNRWA says catastrophic hunger will get worse if Gaza supply routes are interrupted RAMALLAH, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has Tuesday warned that the humanitarian response across the Gaza Strip will be stopped if relief and fuel supplies are consistently blocked from entering through the Rafa'h crossing. The Agency took to X to say that should these supply routes be disrupted, the already dire hunger that many people in Gaza, particularly in the north, are experiencing, will worsen. "Continued interruption of the entry of aid and fuel supplies at the #Rafah crossing will halt the critical humanitarian response across the #GazaStrip," UNRWA said. "The catastrophic hunger faced by people especially in northern #Gaza will get much worse if these supply routes are interrupted." K.T *** The Israeli occupation apartheid regime continues to illegally withhold $1, 6 billion of Palestinian funds RAMALLAH, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – According to the Palestinian Ministry of Finance, the Palestinian National Authority is facing a grave financial situation due to the Israeli occupation apartheid regime's persistent and illegal withholding of Palestinian funds, as well as the absence of any Arab or international financial support reaching the government's budget until the end of last April. In order to resolve this suffocating financial crisis, the Palestinian government is undertaking a number of efforts with international bodies to pressure Israel to release withheld Palestinian funds and cease the new Israeli deductions from Gaza's share of the budget, in addition to other Israeli illegal deductions, and overcoming this situation is contingent upon the success and effectiveness of such endeavors. Details of Israeli financial deductions from the Palestinian clearance revenues According to the Ministry of Finance, up until the present date, Israel continues to withhold around NIS 6 billion (nearly $1,6 billion), in addition to new deductions Israel cuts from the budget allocated for the Gaza Strip. Despite Israel's withholding of Palestinian funds, the Palestinian Authority remains committed to disbursing these allocations to their rightful beneficiaries. However, Israel persists in deducting equivalent sums from the clearance revenues, thereby doubling the financial burden on the state budget. Furthermore, Israel annually deducts over NIS 1 billion (nearly $270 million) from clearance revenues under the pretext of deducting electricity and water consumption, especially in the Gaza Strip. On the other hand, the value of clearance revenues has decreased by 60% over the past months due to Israel's increased deductions from Palestinian funds, along with the overall economic downturn, leading to a significant decline in revenues. As for Arab and international support, MoF data indicate that no Arab or international financial support have been received for the government’s budget thus far, with expectations of some support arriving soon. Additionally, government revenues have declined due to the economic situation and the Israeli deductions from tax revenues Israel collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority, which further exacerbates the financial burden the PA has it endure. To mitigate the gravity of the dire financial situation, the government, acting upon the directives of President Mahmoud Abbas, approved a set of austerity measures during its previous session in order to reduce government spending. These measures entail halting the purchasing of new vehicles, implementing measures to park government vehicles at ministries and institutions outside of working hours, and suspending general procurement requests except for urgent necessities, among other measures aimed at reducing government spending. Additionally, the government has devised plans to ensure financial stability until the end of this year. International pressure on Israel to release withheld funds The Palestinian government has engaged in a series of meetings and contacts with representatives of various countries and international organizations to pressure Israel to release funds it currently withholds. According to official government statements, these engagements have primarily focused on urging for the release of NIS 1.765 billion (nearly $471 million), currently held in Norway. This sum corresponds to Gaza's allocated share of the general budget, which Israel has illegally withheld from clearance revenues since last October. Additionally, there are outstanding crossing fees collected by Israel over the years, totaling approximately NIS 900 million (nearly $240 million), which have not been transferred to the Ministry of Finance. In addition, there are other unspecified funds due to Israel's refusal to disclose certain details regarding withheld Palestinian funds. According to the Ministry of Finance, the new Palestinian government has assumed its responsibilities with a public debt exceeding $11 billion. This includes debts owed to the Palestinian Pension Agency, debts of external banking institutions, as well as arrears owed to public sector employees, suppliers, service providers, and debts of local banks. K.T. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime ForcesOn May 7, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on Gaza Strip resulted in 6 massacres, which resulted in the killing of 54 Palestinian civilians, and the injury of 96 others, in the past 24 hours. This increased the accounted for death toll in Gaza Strip to 34,789 and the injuries to 78,204, since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023. *** 54 Palestinian martyrs in 6 Israeli massacres in Gaza over the past 24 hours Tuesday 7-May-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation army committed six massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 54 civilians and injuring 96 others. The Ministry confirmed in its daily report that the toll of the Israeli aggression had risen to 34,789 martyrs and 78,204 injuries since the October 7, 2023. “A number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been prevented by Israeli occupation forces from reaching them,” the Ministry underlined. Since October 7, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and missing, in addition to the displacement of two million people and massive destruction of homes and infrastructure that affected more than 70% of the buildings, with a suffocating siege and a stifling humanitarian crisis, and an unprecedented famine, especially in Gaza City and the northern governorates. *** Amid Rafah incursion, Israeli genocide in Gaza enters Day 214 Tuesday 7-May-2024 GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered Day 214 on Tuesday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians, in the midst of an incursion into Rafa'h area. Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army has taken over the eastern part of Rafa'h border area under intense gunfire and artillery shelling. They added that the Israeli army bombed homes, gatherings of displaced civilians and streets during its incursion in Rafa'h. According to media sources, casualties were reported when the Israeli army bombed Salahuddeen street in Rafa'h, while many others were evacuated to the Kuwaiti Hospital following attacks on areas around the Rafa'h border crossing. Meanwhile, the General Authority for Crossings and Borders in the Gaza Strip has announced a complete halt to passenger and aid traffic into the Gaza Strip. Earlier, the Israeli army released video footage of the first moments the Rafa'h crossing was captured by its forces. One of the videos showed a tank arriving at one of the crossing’s buildings. Dozens of citizens were reportedly martyred and many others were injured last night and on Tuesday morning in Israeli artillery and aerial attacks on homes in eastern Rafa'h. The Israeli military incursion into the Rafa'h crossing area has isolated the Gaza Strip from the rest of the region and will prevent people from leaving or coming into Gaza and stop the flow of humanitarian aid. *** 21 Palestinians killed in Israeli bombing in Gaza, Rafa'h GAZA, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – 21 Palestinian civilians, including children and women, were Tuesday dawn killed as the Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces bombed various areas in the Gaza Strip, the majority of them from the city of Rafah. Four other people were killed in the bombing of a house owned by Al-Shamali and Abdel-Al families. The same sources explained that a number of people were injured as a result of Israeli warplanes targeting a house owned by Al-Afifi family in Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood, west of the city of Rafa'h. The occupation aircraft launched air strikes targeting Abu 'Halawa area, east of the city of Rafa'h, in conjunction with the occupation artillery shelling and firing at citizens’ homes in the eastern areas of the city of Rafa'h. The occupation artillery bombed various areas in Gaza City, especially the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Tel Al-Hawa, Sheikh Ajlin, and Al-Sabra. In the northern Gaza Strip, occupation aircraft bombed a house in Al-'Atatra area in the city of Bait Lahya. The occupation aircraft also targeted the eastern areas of the towns of Bait 'Hanoun and Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip. The Israeli occupation continues its land, sea and air aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7, which resulted in the killing of 34,735 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, while 78,108 others were injured as thousands of victims remain under the rubble. K.T. *** Day 214 of genocide: Palestinian civilians killed and injured by Israeli bombing in Gaza GAZA, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has entered its 214th consecutive day amid violent bombardment on the city of Rafa'h and raids that targeted Gaza City and its north in the vicinity of the Yarmouk area, east of Jabalya, Bait Lahya, and Bait 'Hanoun, killing and injuring a number of citizens. According to the statement, Israeli occupation forces continue to conduct widespread detention campaigns involving raids, torture, brutal beatings, threats against detainees and their families, deliberate killings, and the destruction of civilian homes. Since October 7th of last year, the total number of arrests has exceeded 8,610, including those arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those taken by Israeli authorities as hostages. Y.S. *** IOFs kidnap several Palestinians in West Bank raids Tuesday 7-May-2024 WEST BANK, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) raided several homes and kidnapped a number of Palestinian citizens in the West Bank last night and at dawn Tuesday, amid clashes in some areas. Activist Abu 'Imad Al-Jahaleen said that a group of colonists stormed Beer Al-Maskoub Bedouin community near Al-Khan Al-A'hmar, seized tents and agricultural crops, and forced the residents of the community to leave. He added that seven families from the said community had no choice but to leave their homes as a result of a sharp rise in almost daily attacks and violence by the illegal Israeli settlers. According to data issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OCHA) in 2017, 46 Bedouin communities will be at risk of forcible displacement in the central West Bank. According to the United Nations Office, around 26 of these communities are located in the Jerusalem Governorate and inhabited by 4,856 Bedouins who face harsh living conditions in terms of basic services such as water and electricity, in addition to the difficulty of reaching educational and health centers. Mulai'hat said the displacement of the Bedouin community is a bad omen for other Bedouin communities across the occupied West Bank, who are exposed to a higher risk of displacement and ethnic cleansing as a result of settler attacks.
