In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (October 7, 2023-Fruary 26, 2024), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Click here for more about using the apostrophe and the underlining of letters in the transliteration of Arabic names. *** *** British Doctor who worked in Gaza: What’s happening in the Strip is genocide Wednesday 20-March-2024, NEW YORK, (PIC) British doctor at Oxford University Hospital, Professor Nick Maynard, has affirmed that what is happening in Gaza includes all the elements of genocide. Maynard’s comments came during a press conference at the United Nations, attended by several doctors who had previously worked in Gaza at different times. Maynard warned that the main goal of the Israeli government is to displace Palestinians from Gaza or eliminate them entirely, emphasizing the urgent need for a ceasefire. Maynard denied the claims of the Israeli authorities that they only target Hamas members, saying, “Me and all my colleagues who have witnessed the field can clearly say that this is not true.” The British doctor emphasized that the Israeli forces indiscriminately shell and clearly target civilians, as well as health facilities, infrastructure, and healthcare workers. He also mentioned that he conducted some research to understand the concept of genocide, adding that what is happening in Gaza includes all the elements of genocide. In the same press conference, intensive care doctor Zahir Sa'hlool pointed out that one child out of every 100 children in Gaza is killed. Sa'hlool confirmed that many children have lost their lives due to a lack of necessary medications and medical facilities, emphasizing that Gaza has become an uninhabitable place in its current condition. Emergency doctor Tha-ir Ahmed, on the other hand, reported that Israel has hindered the entry of medicines into Gaza, noting that some families have been forced to use plastic bags as diapers for their children, stressing that the situation on the ground requires a rapid response. The doctor emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire to enable hospitals to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. Israel has obstructed the delivery of humanitarian aid since the beginning of its aggression on Gaza, resulting in a shortage of food, water, medicine, and fuel. This has led to a famine that has claimed the lives of children and elderly people, in the presence of approximately two million displaced people in the besieged territory. *** Euro-Med: Israeli army carries out field executions at Al-Shifa medical complex Wednesday 20-March-2024, GENEVA, (PIC) The Euro-Med monitor for Human Rights reported that it had received testimonies regarding the Israeli occupation forces carrying out field executions against Palestinian civilian refugees inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the city of Gaza as part of their ongoing military operations in the complex for the past two days. Eyewitnesses among the refugees reported that they witnessed the Israeli forces taking 8 to 10 Palestinian civilians to the morgue area of the Al-Shifa Complex (the refrigerators of the dead), and then they heard intense gunfire before the occupation forces returned without those civilians. The Euro-Med monitor expressed its concerns, in a statement on Tuesday, about the possible field executions of these civilians, expressing deep concern about the situation in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the imminent risks facing the civilians. It confirmed that its field team gathered testimonies regarding the killing of 60 to 80 individuals by the Israeli forces’ gunfire inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings since its reoccupation on Sunday/Monday night. The Euro-Med monitor emphasized the necessity of protecting hospitals and medical facilities, and the need for the United Nations and relevant international organizations to take action to stop the grave Israeli assaults on hospitals in the Gaza Strip. *** Canada to halt arms shipments to Israel Wednesday 20-March-2024, OTTAWA, (PIC) Canada will ban all arms shipments to Israel, foreign affairs minister Melanie Joly said on Tuesday. The move comes after lawmakers voted 204 – 117 in favor of a non-binding motion to stop the weapons sales to Israel after a lengthy debate on Monday. “It’s a real thing,” Joly told The Toronto Star newspaper. The original motion was for a weapons sales suspension but that was changed to a total ban. Also included in the motion was a clause that called for support of the eventual “establishment of the State of Palestine” in concert with Canada’s international partners. Canada had earlier placed a temporary suspension on export permits for military goods and technology sent to Israel, and there was some confusion already as Global Affairs Canada continued to receive applications on arms exports to Israel and they were reviewed on a case-to-case basis, the Star reported. However, Joly insisted that after the Monday vote calling for the arms ban, the government decided to honor the pledge. Canadian defense minister Bill Blair said Joly would decide how the ban is enforced. *** 30 people killed in Israeli attack on local aid workers in Gaza Wednesday 20-March-2024, GAZA, (PIC) Israeli warplanes bombed on Tuesday a group of tribal aid workers at the Kuwait roundabout in the south of Gaza City, killing at least 30 of them. According to Al-Jazeera satellite channel, those workers were responsible for ensuring the safe distribution of desperately needed aid to UN centers. They were members of local committees formed by various clans to organize humanitarian relief efforts in northern Gaza after complete chaos broke out because of the lack of food over the past few weeks. In a related context, the Hamas Movement has said that the Israeli occupation army’s targeting of tribal workers responsible for protecting aid trucks and organizing the distribution of aid at the Kuwait rotary confirmed that it aims to spread chaos. Hamas called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and put an end to Israel’s persistence in massacring the Palestinians in Gaza through carrying out barbaric attacks and using the weapon of starvation. *** More than half of Gaza’s population on brink of famine: World Bank RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 (WAFA) – More than half the population of Gaza is on the brink of famine, including children and the elderly, the World Bank Group said on Tuesday The international organization called for urgent action to save lives. "We join the international community in calling for immediate, free, and unimpeded access of medical supplies, food and life-essential services through all available means at speed and scale to the people of Gaza,” it said in a statement. The World Bank Group's board of directors in December approved the commitment of $35 million in funds to development partners which are active in Gaza, including the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Program (WFP) and the World Health Organization (WHO). This funds include a $10 million package to the WFP to purchase food parcels and vouchers to reach an estimated 377,000 people. K.T. *** Rights groups urge US to suspend arm transfer to Israel WASHINGTON, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 (WAFA) – The Biden administration should follow US law and immediately suspend arms transfers to Israel, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam said. The organizations on March 19, 2024 submitted a joint memorandum to the US government regarding Israel’s violations of international humanitarian law including with US weapons and the blocking of US-funded humanitarian assistance. “There are good reasons why US law prohibits arms support for governments that block life-saving aid or violate international law with US weapons,” said Sarah Yager, Washington director at Human Rights Watch. “Given ongoing hostilities in Gaza, the Israeli government’s assurances to the Biden administration that it is meeting US legal requirements are not credible.” Oxfam and Human Rights Watch said in their memorandum that they “are confident that the examples we cite here reflect a broader pattern of conduct than is currently being assessed by the US Government.” “Oxfam has repeatedly sounded the alarm that Israel’s ongoing bombardment and siege, and its actions to prevent access for humanitarian aid, have escalated a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” said Scott Paul, associate director for peace and security at Oxfam America. “We have laid out clearly for the Biden administration why any assurances from Israel that they have not delayed, restricted, and impeded aid into Gaza cannot be relied upon. Despite this, the United States has continued to provide Israel with deadly weapons. The time has long passed for the Biden administration to end lethal arms sales to Israel, and we call on them to do so now and work to end the death and suffering in Gaza.” The joint submission is being released as famine is imminent in northern Gaza and a high risk for the rest of the strip if Israel persists in its hostilities and restriction of humanitarian access. The United States and other countries have resorted to airdrops and a temporary seaport – a product of Israel blocking aid from entering via more effective and safe land routes, the groups said. Oxfam and Human Rights Watch urged Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to consider expected future violations when determining the credibility of the Israeli government’s assurances. “Oxfam and Human Rights Watch believe a suspension of arms transfers to Israel is necessary so long as there is an overriding risk that they are being used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights law, and US law and policy,” the groups said in their report. K.T. *** US Congress deal bars US funds to UNRWA until March 2025 WASHINGTON, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 (WAFA) – According to two sources, an agreement reached by U.S. congressional leaders and the White House on a massive bill funding military, State Department and a range of other government programs will continue a ban on U.S. funding for UNRWA, the main U.N. agency for Palestinians, until March 2025. The two sources familiar with the agreement told Reuters that the funding would be blocked for a year, and that details of alternative efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza would be discussed after the legislation is made public. President Joe Biden's administration said in January it was temporarily pausing new funding to United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) following accusations made by Israel against 12 of the agency's 13,000 employees in Gaza. The U.S. Senate passed legislation last month cutting off funding for the agency. K.T. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime ForcesOn March 20, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on Gaza Strip resulted in 10 massacres, in which 104 Palestinian civilians were killed, and 162 were injured, in the past 24 hours. This increased the death toll in Gaza Strip to 31,923 and the injuries to 74,096, since October 7, 2023. *** Gaza: Death toll surges to 31,923 martyrs Wednesday 20-March-2024, GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation army committed 10 massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 104 civilians and injuring over 162 others, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or lying on roads. In a statement, the health ministry explained that the Israeli army killed and injured hundreds of civilians in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, but only 104 martyrs and 162 wounded citizens were transported to hospitals. The health ministry added that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardment and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 31,923 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 74,096 people. Every day, the Israeli army escalates its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless bombardment since a cross-border operation was launched by Hamas’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7. Besides the large number of casualties and the huge displacement of people, basic food, fuel, water and medical supplies have run out for the 2.3 million residents in Gaza due to the tight Israeli blockade and the massive destruction of infrastructure and facilities. *** US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters Day 166 Wednesday 20-March-2024, GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered Day 166 on Wednesday, massive aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound neighborhoods, homes, shelter centers and aid convoys, and massacre more civilians, mostly children and women. A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to attack different areas of Gaza, killing and injuring hundreds of citizens. According to media sources, four civilians were martyred following an Israeli attack on a house belonging to the family of 'Esa in Thabit Al-Zurai-i neighborhood, east of Rafa'h in southern Gaza, while two martyrs were evacuated from a street near Dar Al-Salam Hospital in the north of Bani Suhaila town in Khan Younus. Local sources reported that director of the emergency committee Amjad Hat-hat was among the victims who were bombed at the Kuwait rotary in Gaza City as he was participating in the efforts to secure the delivery of aid to civilians. 24 civilians were also massacred and dozens were injured when the Israeli army bombarded at dawn the refugee camps of Al-Buraij and Al-Nusayrat in central Gaza. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army bombed an apartment building in the west of Gaza City and Al-Daraj neighborhood in the east of the city, killing and injuring dozens of civilians. Two patients were also pronounced dead at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Dair El-Bala'h after the facility ran out of oxygen supplies and fuel for power generators. Other casualties were reported in different areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today. The Israeli occupation also bombarded residential homes located between the towns of Al-Qarara and Al-Zanna, east of Khan Younus in the southern Gaza Strip. Artillery shelling also targeted civilian homes located behind the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
