June 27, 2024
Editor's
Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the
Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli
genocidal war on Gaza Strip:
By June 27, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip
is
44,765+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (37,765 and those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).
By May 25, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them.
By March 4, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them (May 25, 2024), destroyed 155 health institutions, 32 hospitals, 53 health centers, 126 ambulances, displaced 1.9 million Palestinians, and destroyed 360,000 housing units, about and 60% of the buildings and infrastructure in Gaza Strip.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. According to a report published by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, there were 435 martyrs, the majority of them male. The report explained that 44% of the injuries were due to shockwaves, 35% were due to explosions, and 16% were due to chemical substances. It indicated that 95% of the injuries were of Lebanese nationality, without specifying the nationalities of the remaining injured. The report also noted that the number of displaced people reached 92,228 in the same period. The Lebanese authorities accuse the Israeli occupation army of using white phosphorus in attacks on the south of the country, which has caused damage to the environment and civilians. White phosphorus munitions are used to create smoke screens and illuminate the battlefield, but they are an incendiary weapon that can cause severe burns to the human body when in contact with oxygen. There are escalating warnings about the possibility of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip expanding to Lebanon and the outbreak of a regional war, amid the continued Israeli statements and threats to launch a potential war, at a time when no diplomatic movement has succeeded so far in reaching a formula or agreement between Hezbollah and Israel. 'Hizbullah conditions stopping the bombardment and ending the occupation war on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing since last October 7 and resulted in about 124,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, mostly children and women, in addition to thousands of missing persons. *** Khalid Mish'al: Setting up the Palestinian house following the Aqsa flood is an urgent need that cannot wait Thursday 27-June-2024 BEIRUT, (PIC) The head of 'Hamas Movement’s foreign political bureau Khalid Mish'al said “Al-Aqsa flood constitutes a real and effective move towards liberation.” At a symposium hosted by the Al-Zaytouna Center for Studies and Consultations this Wednesday evening, Mish'al declared that “there is no need for postponing the right to arrange the Palestinian house, as it has become a necessary and inevitable matter after Al-Aqsa flood.” “Setting up the Palestinian house is not something we can delay till the end of the battle,” Mish'al said in his speech at the symposium, which was attended by experts and heads of Palestinian studies and thinking centers. “Rather, we must be preoccupied with it while we are engaged in the battle.” “Those who were outside the battle and waiting for the resistance to lose, what will be their position after Al-Aqsa flood ends and the resistance wins in Gaza?” he continued. “The Palestinian resistance pays heavy prices and sacrifices, but it succeeds, while the settlement path pays heavy prices, losses, and concessions without succeeding, while the Israeli occupation continues to Judaize the land and sanctities, and expend settlements,” he said. “Contrary to what the supporters of the peace settlement path claimed,” he emphasized, “the choice of confrontation and resistance has proven to be what confuses and weakens the occupation.” “This battle changed the entire scene in the region, scattered everything, stirred the stagnation that had occurred in the Palestinian cause, and gave people a positive shock,” he noted. “We actually have to overcome Oslo, politically and security-wise, and enter a new stage and phase,” Mish'al added. “After the second intifada, we have entered the post-Oslo phase, and today, following the Al-Aqsa flood, we are facing a new reality,” he continued. “We must overcome everything related to Oslo.” “In order to successfully navigate the transitional phase, we currently require a national consensus in which all Palestinian frameworks participate, and the Movement is open to all possibilities to build a Palestinian consensus for the next phase,” the 'Hamas leader underlined. In order to prepare for the post-aggression phase on Gaza and manage the Gaza Strip, he stated that “the Palestinian house must be arranged in a consensual manner, in which the entire Palestinian spectrum participates without excluding any Palestinian party. Hamas cannot be in any way excluded from Gaza, and we will not tolerate a vacuum there.” *** UNRWA: At least 508 IDPs sheltering in UNRWA shelters killed Thursday 27-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) estimated in a statement issued Wednesday that at least 508 internally displaced persons (IDPs) sheltering in UNRWA shelters have been killed and at least a further 1,559 injured since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. UNRWA said that it continued to verify the number of casualties caused by incidents that impacted its installations, and notes that these figures do not include some reported casualties where the number of injuries could not be determined. Earlier Tuesday, Yasmina Guerda of the UN humanitarian agency OCHA described children who lost limbs in Israel’s attack on Al-Nusayrat refugee camp earlier this month that killed at least 274 people and injured more than 700. “Many of whom reminded me of my own two little toddlers. They were staring into the void, too shell-shocked to produce a sound or a tear,” she said. She said aid workers were trying to “quantify the suffering with figures”, looking at the total number of displaced people, the liters of water they get per day, or the truckloads of aid that make it across the border. She pointed out that more than 200 humanitarian relief workers have been killed in Gaza since October 7. *** WHO: At least 2,000 medical evacuations from Gaza prevented by the Israeli occupation forces closing the Rafa'h crossing Thursday 27-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The closure of the Rafa'h crossing between Egypt and Palestine has prevented the medical evacuations of at least 2,000 patients, a World Health Organization (WHO) official said on Tuesday, calling for Rafa'h and other routes to be reopened. Before the closure, “approximately 50 critical patients a day left Gaza. It means that since the 7th of May at least 2,000 people have been unable to leave Gaza to receive medical care,” said Rik Peeperkorn, WHO representative in the West Bank and Gaza. At least 10,000 people are in need of evacuation from Gaza, Peeperkorn said, adding that this was an underestimate of the number needing critical care for both war traumas and chronic diseases. “We need more routes for medical emergency evacuation (medevac), we would like to see Karem Abu Salem and other routes also opened for medevac where patients can then be referred to the referral hospitals in East Jerusalem and the West Bank,” Peeperkorn said. A group of five children who had been evacuated from northern Gaza to Nasir Hospital in Khan Younus and were reportedly poised to leave the Strip were still awaiting evacuation, Peeperkorn said. *** Dujarric: The United Nations is not pulling out of Gaza Thursday 27-June-2024 NEW YORK, (PIC) The United Nations said on Wednesday that obstacles to distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza continue, but contrary to allegations in some reports, the UN has not withdrawn from the Strip. The UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a daily press briefing that the United Nations is attempting to distribute aid amidst great risks. Dujarric noted that no progress has been made so far regarding the improvements they requested from Israel. In response to circulating news that the United Nations will suspend the distribution of aid if Israel does not respond to its demands, Dujarric said: “We are not pulling out of Gaza.” Regarding the distribution of aid from the US floating pier, Dujarric said that the United Nations is still reviewing the security situation and has yet to distribute aid because the necessary conditions are still unmet. He explained that the United Nations is trying to distribute aid in a narrow environment, pointing out that the United Nations demands are basically very simple. Dujarric stated that they are not working under the protection of the Israeli army, stressing that they have tried different methods of distributing aid. “The only way to succeed is a ceasefire, is our ability to have full and unimpeded humanitarian access to see the immediate release of all the hostages”, he underlined. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza, resulting in around 124,000 Palestinians killed or injured, most of them children and women, and over 10,000 missing amidst widespread destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children. Israel continues its genocide war despite two UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the Rafah invasion, take measures to prevent genocide, and improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. *** 557,000 women in Gaza are currently food insecure: UN Women NEW YORK, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) – The UN Women warned today that at least 557,000 women in Gaza are currently food insecure, noting that many mothers and adult women there often prioritize feeding others, facing greater difficulties than men in accessing adequate food supplies. According to the UN agency's findings, many women in Gaza are forced to skip meals or reduce their own food intake to ensure their children are fed. These challenges severely restrict their access to essential services, endangering their health and nutritional security, and increasing their vulnerability to gender-based violence. The report outlines five key facts illustrating the impact of food insecurity on women in Gaza: Care Burden: Women struggle to protect the well-being of their children, both physically and emotionally, while bearing additional responsibilities for caregiving and household duties, especially in crowded living conditions. Physical health and weight loss: Widespread food insecurity and malnutrition prevail in Gaza, with 7 out of 10 women reporting weight loss in the past 30 days, and over half experiencing frequent dizziness. Food assistance: More than 80% of respondents rely on food aid as their primary source of nutrition. However, 87.3% believe that food aid distribution does not fairly account for family size, with 83.5% indicating that aid does not meet their household's needs adequately. Complications in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum: Pregnant and lactating women face high health risks due to inadequate healthcare and nutrition. 76% of pregnant women suffer from anemia, while 99% struggle to access nutritional supplements, jeopardizing maternal and infant health. Kitchen access and unsafe cooking methods: Only a third of respondents have proper kitchens and cooking facilities, with 69% resorting to unsafe cooking methods such as using wood or burning waste, posing serious health risks. Women responsible for meal preparation are often exposed to smoke and hazardous pollutants, leading to respiratory and other health issues. The UN Women's agency called for urgent international attention and support to address the critical food insecurity crisis affecting women in Gaza. The report underscored the immediate need for equitable distribution of food aid, enhanced healthcare services, and measures to ensure the safety and well-being of women and their families amidst ongoing conflict and humanitarian challenges. M.N. *** UNRWA: Severe shortages of medicines and fuel in Gaza hindering life-saving operations GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned about the critical health care needs of Palestinians in war-ravaged Gaza, emphasizing that only a few of its health centers remain operational in the region. In a statement posted on its X account, UNRWA highlighted severe shortages of medicines and fuel hindering life-saving operations in Gaza. It stressed that safe and sustainable access to aid cannot be delayed any longer. Simultaneously, the UN agency stated that ongoing insecurity and Israeli military attacks in southern Gaza continue to pose significant obstacles to humanitarian efforts. Last week, several Israeli airstrikes targeted the surroundings of Al-Mawasi area, displacing numerous refugees. UNRWA cautioned that power cuts due to fuel shortages still jeopardize the lives of critically ill patients, including newborns, kidney dialysis patients, and those in intensive care units in hospitals. According to the agency, partners involved in response efforts report that groundwater pumping, the main water source in Gaza, has decreased by over 50%, from 35,000 cubic meters per day to just 15,000 cubic meters per day. M.N. *** PRCS: 18 ambulances cease to operate due to lack of fuel in Gaza GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) – 18 ambulances have ceased to operate in the war-torn Gaza Strip due to the lack of fuel, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced today. The PRCS voiced its concern in a press statement that 18 PRCS ambulances have ceased to operate in the Strip due to the lack of fuel, corresponding to 36 percent of the capability of the PRCS ambulance fleet. It said that it had not received its fuel ration through the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) for eight days due to blocking the entry of fuel by the Israeli occupation to the Strip, noting that the PRCS fuel ration covered only 10 percent of the operational capacity of its ambulance fleet. Before it no longer received its fuel ration, PRCS noted that the quantity of fuel it used to receive dropped from 10 to only 3 percent of the daily need of its ambulance fleet. It warned that its response in terms of providing first and emergency services in the coming days would see a steady decline due to the scarcity of fuel, particularly that the Rafa'h border crossing was still closed down by the Israeli occupation for 52 days, while noting that the quantities of fuel allowed into Gaza via the Karm Abu Salem crossing does not meet the needs of the medical and relief sectors. It called upon the international community to urgently intervene to reopen the Rafa'h border crossing and ensure the flow of humanitarian assistance, especially fuel, to the Strip to prevent the complete collapse of the health system, particularly after not only did electricity generators in hospitals cease to operate, but also ambulances, water desalination plants and wastewater networks ceased to operate. Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in a complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), that ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafah, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention. Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 37,765 Palestinians and injuring over 86,429 others. Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip. Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children. The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the Palestinian border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba. K.F. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime ForcesOn June 27, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on Gaza Strip resulted in 3 massacres, which resulted in the killing of 47 Palestinian civilians, and the injury of 52 others, in the past 24 hours. This increased the accounted for death toll in Gaza Strip to 37,765 and the injuries to 86,429, since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023. *** Israeli occupation commits three massacres against families in Gaza over the past 24 you're GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation committed three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, resulting in the killing of 47 civilians and the injury of 52 others, according to medical sources. Y.S. *** Israeli airstrikes on Gaza claim more lives, hundreds forced to flee GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) – Four civilians were killed this afternoon and 16 others injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to medical sources. The casualties were subsequently transported to Al-'Awda Hospital in the camp. Meantime, several civilians were killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes on the town of Al-Zawayida in central Gaza. Elsewhere, a young man was killed and another injured by Israeli sniper fire near Al-A'alam Square, west of Rafa'h in southern Gaza. Simultaneously, the Israeli occupation army continued its assault in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood east of Gaza City and several other districts within the city. Israeli tanks and military vehicles invaded residential areas, accompanied by airstrikes and shelling targeting civilian homes, resulting in more casualties and injuries. Medical sources reported dozens of casualties and injuries arriving at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City following a series of Israeli airstrikes on Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood and nearby areas. The Israeli onslaught has forced hundreds of families to evacuate the neighborhood to densely populated areas in Gaza City already overcrowded with displaced persons. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its teams have treated over 30 injured individuals, predominantly children and women, in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood. Rescue efforts are ongoing around the clock, with difficulties accessing victims trapped under rubble. Further injuries were reported from Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks on the Al-Daraj neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the southeast. Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7th last year, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 37,765, mostly comprising children and women. The number of injuries has climbed to 86,429, with thousands still trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings. M.N. *** Israel lunches violent artillery shelling on A-Shuja'iya neighborhood, killing and injuring several civilians GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) – Several civilians, mostly children and women, today were killed and others were injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting the Tunisian cemetery, east of Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood. Medical sources reported that Israeli warplanes carried out violent airstrikes and artillery shelling on Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood, killing and injuring several civilians, mostly children and women. Ambulance crews were not able to reach the casualties due to the intense and ongoing shelling on the neighborhood. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of civilians were forcibly displaced due to the ongoing bombardment on various parts of Gaza City. The occupation army forced civilians in Al-Shuja'iya, Al-Turkman, and Al-Tuffa'h neighborhoods to forcibly evacuate to the southern Gaza Strip via Salah Al-Din Street. Y.S. *** Gaza: Civilians killed in Israeli bombardment GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) - A number of Palestinian civilians were Thursday morning killed, and others sustained various injuries, in Israeli occupation bombing east of Gaza City and Al-Buraij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Medical sources reported that five people were killed, and others were injured, when the occupation warplanes bombed a house in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The same sources added that a number of civilians were killed in the occupation's artillery shelling east of Al-Buraij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. By June 26, 2024, he Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in the killing of more than 37,718 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, while 86,377 others were injured, in an infinite toll, as thousands of victims remain under the rubble. K.T. *** Day 265 of genocide: Children, women killed by Israeli bombing of Gaza GAZA, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) - A number of Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom were children and women, were killed, and others were injured on Thursday morning, as a result of the Israeli occupation’s continued aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 265th day. In Khan Younus, in the south of the Gaza Strip, a number of citizens, including children and women, were killed, and others were injured in the occupation bombing of Al-Khansaa School, which shelters displaced people in the town of 'Abasan Al-Kabira in the east. The occupation aircraft also bombed a house owned by Al-Wuhaidi family on Al-Mughrabi Street in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in Gaza City, resulting in casualties. The Israeli army's artillery targeted the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Tel Al-Hawa, and Al-Shaikh 'Ijleen in Gaza City, as smoke rose from the targeted places. The vicinity of Wadi Gaza Bridge, north of Al-Nusayrat camp in the central Gaza Strip, also saw intense artillery shelling. Israeli forces continue to blow up residential buildings west of the city of Rafa'h, south of the Gaza Strip, amid heavy smoke clouds rising in the area, as the occupation drones continue to fly densely over Gaza City, at low altitudes. K.T. *** *** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces *** Israeli occupation forces shoot Palestinian before detaining him near Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Thursday, June 27, 2024 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces Thursday morning detained a Palestinian young man after he was shot in the foot by live bullets in the Qalandya refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem. Last night, one Israeli occupation soldier was killed and 17 others were injured, four seriously, when Palestinian resistance fighters detonated a large explosive device at an IOFs vehicle in Jineen City. Israeli ambulances escorted by a military drone evacuated the wounded soldiers from the area. Palestinian resistance fighters from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas and al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad also clashed with Israeli forces near the Khaleel Sulayman Hospital and other areas of Jenin.
