June 22, 2024
Editor's
Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the
Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli
genocidal war on Gaza Strip:
By June 22, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip
is
44,551+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (37,551 and those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).
By May 25, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them.
By March 4, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them (May 25, 2024), destroyed 155 health institutions, 32 hospitals, 53 health centers, 126 ambulances, displaced 1.9 million Palestinians, and destroyed 360,000 housing units, about and 60% of the buildings and infrastructure in Gaza Strip.
ÈöÓúãö Çááåö ÇáÑøóÍúãóÜٰäö ÇáÑøóÍöíãö "ãöäú ÃóÌúáö Ðóٰáößó ßóÊóÈúäóÇ Úóáóìٰ Èóäöí ÅöÓúÑóÇÆöíáó Ãóäøóåõ ãóäú ÞóÊóáó äóÝúÓðÇ ÈöÛóíúÑö äóÝúÓò Ãóæú ÝóÓóÇÏò Ýöí ÇáúÃóÑúÖö ÝóßóÃóäøóãóÇ ÞóÊóáó ÇáäøóÇÓó ÌóãöíÚðÇ" (ÇáúãóÇÆöÏóÉõ ¡ 5: 32). In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. *** 'Hamas condemns Israeli brutal massacres in Gaza, calls for urgent international intervention Saturday 22-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The 'Hamas Movement condemned the ongoing Israeli massacres on the Gaza Strip, saying “The Nazi Zionist enemy continues to brutally target civilians in the Gaza Strip, and implement new massacres against children, women and the elderly.” In a statement on Saturday, 'Hamas denounced the Israeli airstrikes targeting a residential square in Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City, Al-Tuffa'h and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods, and the displaced tents in the Al-Mawsi area west of Khan Younus and Rafa'h, which led to the martyrdom of dozens of citizens, as part of the ongoing Israeli genocide war on Gaza, which has been waged for more than eight months in violation of all international laws.” 'Hamas said, “the horrific series of the Zionist crimes against civilians require more effective and serious activism from the international community to oblige Israel to halt its crimes and violations against our defenseless people in the Gaza Strip.” Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli occupation army killed 54 citizens and wounded many children and women in three massacres committed in three different sites in Gaza City. According to local sources, Israeli warplanes bombed a residential square in Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City, destroying seven homes on top of its residents, killing 24 citizens and injuring dozens of others. The Civil Defense said its crews in Gaza managed to retrieve a number of martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, adding that rescue teams are still searching for victims under the rubble. Israeli airstrikes also targeted a house in the vicinity of Jabal Al-Rayis, east of Al-Tuffa'h neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, leading to the martyrdom of 19 citizens and the injury of many others. The Civil Defense in Gaza confirmed recovering 19 martyrs and more than 35 injuries, including critical cases, after Israeli airstrikes hit a house of Shabit’s family near Al-Batsh cemetery in Al-Tuffa'h neighborhood. A number of missing people are still under the debris, the Civil Defense added. Meanwhile, the house of Fannana family was also bombed in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood in Gaza, leading to the martyrdom of four people. Seven other people were killed in Israeli artillery shelling this morning in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. On Friday, 42 Palestinians were killed, and 85 others wounded in several Israeli raids on Gaza City. Most of the casualties were women and children. *** UNRWA: More than 76% of schools in Gaza need reconstruction Saturday 22-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) More than 76% of schools in the Gaza Strip need to be “rebuilt or restored” in order to be able to operate again, according to the Global Education Cluster”, UNRWA said in a post on X on Friday. UNRWA added that despite the ongoing war on Gaza, its teams “continue to reach children with play and learning activities,” stressing that “education is a fundamental human right.” The UN agency demanded an immediate ceasefire in the Strip which has been under Israeli bloody aggression for nearly 9 months. *** Euro-Med: Israel escalates targeting civilians, infrastructure, and municipal teams in Gaza Saturday 22-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Euro-Med Monitor for Human Rights said that the Israeli occupation army continues for the ninth consecutive month its wide-ranging military attack on the Gaza Strip with the same level and disproportionately destructive methods, committing massacres and collective killings against Palestinian civilians, including within the areas it declared safe zones. The Euro-Med Monitor highlighted that it documented a clear escalation in the course of the Israeli targeting, whether in terms of bombing homes over the heads of their residents, or targeting the tents of the displaced in the areas that Israel declared humanitarian zones, during the past few days. The peak of the escalation was on Friday, June 21, where more than 67 citizens were martyred and more than 125 others were injured. According to the field team of the Euro-Med Monitor, the Israeli warplanes and tanks bombed the tents of the displaced in the “Al-Mawasi Rafa'h” area near the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross, which led to the martyrdom of 24 Palestinians from the displaced and the injury of 40 others. This is the fourth large-scale massacre committed by the Israeli army against the displaced who were forced to live in tents in the “Al-Mawasi” area due to displacement orders and continuous bombardment during the past month, coinciding with the continuation of its military attack on the city of Rafa'h since May 7. The Euro-Med Monitor team also documented four Israeli attacks in less than five hours in the city of Gaza, which led to the killing of 42 Palestinians and the injury of 85 others, most of them women and children, ranging from moderate to serious injuries. At around 11:00 AM on Friday, according to the documentation of the field team, the Israeli planes bombed employees working in the fuel management room in the Gaza Municipality, which supplies the municipal vehicles, water wells and sewage treatment plants with fuel, despite prior coordination between them and the occupation army to work, and obtaining prior approval of the names of the employees working there. Five municipal employees were martyred in the targeting, as well as a sixth person “a clothes seller” who was at the door of his shop at the time of the targeting, near the municipal garage, in the center of Gaza City. The second attack happened at around 1:00 PM, when Israeli warplanes bombed a residential house in the Colored Neighborhood in the Old City east of Gaza City, leaving 12 martyrs in addition to a number of wounded. Among the martyrs was a player from the Palestinian Al-Ahli Club, Ahmed Abu Al-Ata, his wife and a number of their children. The third attack came minutes later at another house on Al-Nazaz Street east of Gaza City, belonging to the Badr family, and left a number of victims. The fourth attack was around 3:30 PM, in an Israeli targeting of a house belonging to the Sali'h family in the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of seven people and the injury of more than 20 others, mostly women and children, in addition to sporadic targeting of Palestinians in different neighborhoods of the city, leaving 42 dead and 85 injured. The Euro-Med Monitor indicated that the occupation army continued to target and commit collective murder crimes against Palestinian civilians during the Eidul Al-Adha holiday, whether in their homes or while attempting to make family visits. The Euro-Med reiterated that the Israeli military attacks in the Gaza Strip and their devastating consequences, as shown by the alarming statistics of casualties and extent of destruction, confirm that what Israel has done and continues to do constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity. These actions are part of the crime of genocide being committed against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip for the past nine months. This requires activating all levels of international, legal, and judicial investigations, as well as accountability mechanisms, and serious efforts to hold Israeli leaders and soldiers accountable and prevent them from evading punishment. The victims and their families must be compensated in accordance with the rules of international law. The Euro-Med Monitor called for holding the United States accountable as a key partner in the commission of crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including the crime of genocide, due to its provision of various forms of military, logistical, operational, and financial support to Israel in its military assault on the Strip. This includes the criminal accountability of all relevant American officials who participated in the related decision-making. The Euro-Med Monitor renewed its call on all countries to fulfill their international responsibilities by imposing effective sanctions on Israel and stopping all forms of political, financial, and military support and cooperation, including the immediate halt of arms transfers to it and the export licenses and military aid. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime ForcesOn June 23, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on Gaza Strip resulted in 3 massacres, which resulted in the killing of 101 Palestinian civilians, and the injury of 169 others, in the past 24 hours. This increased the accounted for death toll in Gaza Strip to 37,551 and the injuries to 85,911, since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023. *** Gaza: Death toll surges to 37,551 martyrs Saturday 22-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The health ministry in Gaza said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation army committed three massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 101 civilians and injuring 169 others, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or lying on roads. In a statement, the health ministry said that the Israeli army killed and injured a large number of civilians in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, but at least 270 of them, including 101 martyrs, were transported to hospitals. The health ministry added that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 37,551 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 85,911 people. The Gaza Strip has been under brutal bombardment since a cross-border operation was launched by Hamas’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7. Besides the large number of casualties and the huge displacement of people, basic food, fuel, water and medical supplies have run out for the 2.3 million residents in Gaza due to the tight Israeli blockade and the massive destruction of infrastructure and facilities. *** US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters day 260 Saturday 22-June-2024 GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 260 on Saturday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians. Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes and attack citizens in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours. According to media sources, 54 civilians were killed and dozens were injured in three massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) in different areas of Gaza City on Saturday. Local sources said that Israeli warplanes bombed an entire residential block in ash-Shati refugee camp in the west of Gaza City, killing at least 24 civilians and injuring dozens. Another airstrike also targeted a house in Al-Tuffa'h neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, killing 19 citizens and injuring over 35 others. Four martyrs were reported following an airstrike on a house in Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood in Gaza City. Earlier, an artillery attack on Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City claimed the lives of seven citizens. More casualties were reported in other areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today. *** The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli bombardment on Gaza City climbs to 40 GAZA, Saturday, June 22, 2024 (WAFA) – The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli bombardment on several neighborhoods of Gaza City today climbed to at least 40, according to the Anadolu Agency. The agency reported a Civil Defense spokesperson saying that the Israeli occupation forces bombed several inhabited residential buildings in several neighborhoods of the city, resulting in killing of at least 40 people, including women and children, and injuring dozens others. The agency also reported him saying that an untold number of people are trapped in rubble or missing. The Civil Defense spokesperson added that Israeli warplanes destroyed residential buildings in the Shuja'iyya and Al-Tuffa'h neighborhoods as well as in the Beach refugee camp, locally known as Al-Shati, the third largest of the Gaza Strip’s eight refugee camps, and one of the most crowded. He pointed out that Civil Defense and rescue teams were searching for the missing people in the rubble of devastated buildings and houses using their limited capabilities. Tried before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 37,551 Palestinians and injuring over 85,911 others. Moreover, approximately 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip. Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children. The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba. K.F. *** Palestinian footballer and family killed in Israeli genocidal airstrike on their house in Gaza GAZA, Saturday, June 22, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian footballer and his family were killed in an Israeli genocidal airstrike on their house in the city of Gaza, the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) confirmed on Saturday. Israeli warplanes targeted the house of Al-Ahli Gaza football player A'hmed Abu Al-'Ata, 34, near the Latin Church in Gaza, killing him along with his wife and children. Abu Al-'Ata was the third Al-Ahli Gaza football player to be killed by Israeli bombardment in the course of Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, which resulted in the killing of at least 37,551 people and injuring 85,911 others. He bagged 8 goals in his 10-year career, during which, he moved amongst the best clubs in Gaza, celebrating a variety of major titles, including the Gazan Premier League. The first two Al-Ahli Gaza football players killed in the genocidal war on the Strip were Mu'hammed Barakat and Anas 'Iqilan. Known as "The Legend of Khan Younus" due to his long association with the Khan Younus Youth Club, of which he was captain, Barakat, 39, was also a prolific goal scorer who had a tally of 114 goals for the side he led. He also played for Jordanian club Al-Wi'hdat, as well as Saudi Arabian club Al-Sho'la. According to the PFA, the number of Palestinian sportspeople killed due to Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip since 7 October has risen to 300, including approximately 200 football players. Several days ago, Palestinian FIFA international referee Hani Mismi'h succumbed to the severe wounds he sustained in May after his house was bombed in Dair Al-Bala'h. Palestinian Olympic Committee head Jibreel Al-Rujoub previously stated that the Palestinian football family was suffering an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and subjected to genocide due to the extensive destruction of football infrastructure, particularly in Gaza, and the use of playgrounds as mass detention camps in Gaza. The young man was bound to the front of a military jeep, while emergency medical teams were prevented from providing assistance to him. The raid involved extensive military reinforcements, with Israeli forces conducting a sweeping search operation in the neighborhood and deploying snipers on rooftops. The incursion began with a covert operation by a special Israeli military unit, who infiltrated the neighborhood amidst heavy gunfire. They said that a convoy of army vehicles barged their way into the town, where the soldiers fired volleys of concussion grenades and tear gas canisters towards the residents, sparking confrontations. No information on casualties was immediately available. The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. They said that a sizable occupation force stormed the town, triggering confrontations. The gun-toting soldiers fired volleys of tear gas canisters towards the town residents, including local youths protesting the raid, causing a number to suffocate from excessive tear gas inhalation. Meanwhile, similar confrontations broke out when the occupation forces barged their way into the town of 'Ajjoul, north of Ramallah. The soldiers opened fire towards people in the town, but there were no casualties. The sources confirmed a similar raid in Silwad town, east of Ramallah, where the heavily armed soldiers opened fire towards the houses of the residents. However, there were no casualties. K.F. *** Israeli forces tighten movement restrictions to Salfeet governorate SALFIT, Saturday, June 22, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening tightened restrictions on movement and access around the villages and towns of the occupied West Bank governorate of Salfeet, according to local sources. They said that the occupation forces set up checkpoints at the entrances of the towns of Dair Ballout and Al-Zawiya, both located to the west of the city of Salfeet, as well as close to the entrance of the Qarawat Bani 'Hasan town, northwest of the city, inspecting passengers’ identity cards and causing heavy traffic congestions. Israel severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions. Closures besides other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.
