On Day 296 of US-Backed Israeli Genocidal War on Gaza Strip, 3 Massacres, 66 Palestinians Killed, 241 Injured, with a Death Toll of 39,324 and 90,830 Injuries
July 28, 2024
Editor's Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli
war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip, based on the
By July 28, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza
Strip is
46,324+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (39,324), those who are still missing under the rubble (a corrected estimate, on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).
By July 12, 2024, the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment destroyed more than 100 health hospitals and medical facilities, 609 mosques, 3 churches, more than 430,000 housing units, and the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. More detailed news stories can be found at the following sources:http://english.wafa.ps/, https://english.palinfo.com/, https://imemc.org/, https://paltoday.ps/ar/ *** Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places: 1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Click here for more about using the apostrophe and the underlining of letters in the transliteration of Arabic names. *** Israeli airstrikes hit multiple towns in Lebanon BEIRUT, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes after midnight last night on several towns in southern and central Lebanon. WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli aircraft targeted the towns of Tayr 'Harfa, Al-'Abbasiya, Burj Al-Shamali, Al-Khiyam, Tayr Debba, and Toura in southern Lebanon. Additionally, strikes were launched on the outskirts of the towns of Tarayya and Shams Tar in the Bekaa' Valley, in central Lebanon. The airstrikes were accompanied by reconnaissance and warplanes flying over Lebanese airspace. M.N. *** Druze mourners protest Israeli officials' presence at funeral after Golan attack MAJDAL SHAMS, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Mourners on Sunday protested the participation of Israeli ministers in the funeral of 12 people killed in a rocket attack in Israel-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday. Footage aired by Israeli media showed mourners protesting the presence of Israeli ministers, including far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, at the funeral. "Get out of here, you criminal. We don't want you in the Golan," one protester shouted at Smotrich. Environment Protection Minister Idit Silman, Economy Minister Nir Barkat and Energy Minister Eli Cohen faced similar protests. K.T. *** Israeli ex-captive,
Liat Atzili, says she was treated well in Gaza,
refuting the Israeli government’s account “I was treated well” – Israeli ex-detainee refutes her government’s account on Gaza Sunday 28-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) Another recent testimony from a former Israeli female captive in Gaza has vindicated further the total difference between detention conditions in Palestinian captivity and “Israeli prisons” — which have become slaughterhouses under the authority of far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Former captive in Gaza Liat Atzili spoke with Israel’s Haaretz newspaper. In her extraordinary account of what had taken place, Atzili said that the family and her captors in the civilian home where she was held did not restrict her movement and treated her well. Atzili was released on November 29, 2023 during the one-week ceasefire between 'Hamas and the Israeli occupation government. She spent a total of 54 days in Gaza where she was reportedly held in an apartment in Khan Younus City in the southern Gaza Strip. Atzili told Haaretz that she was treated humanely – which is in sharp
contrast to how Palestinian prisoners are treated by Israeli forces and
jailers. “They had weapons, but they didn’t threaten me. They told me, ‘You
don’t have to be afraid, we won’t hurt you, come with us.’ They gave me
time to get dressed and organized, but I wasn’t capable of doing that
because I was in shock,” she continued, according to Haaretz. “They seemed really worried about me and wanted me to eat and drink. They said, ‘We will protect you, you’re safe here, nothing will happen to you.’ They let me shower, change clothes. They washed my clothes,” Atzili explained. Although Israel imposed a full blockade on Gaza starting on October 9, which led to a widespread famine across the Palestinian population in the Strip, Israeli captives were not left starving. To the contrary, Atzili, who is a vegetarian, was granted special treatment. “They were shocked that I’m a vegetarian. ‘So, what do you eat?’ they asked. I told them I really like pizza. So one of them got on his bicycle and brought a pizza from Crispy Pizza in Khan Younus,” she said. Atzili said she moved to an apartment where she stayed along with another captive, 30-year-old Ilana Gritzewsky, who was also released on November 30, as part of the prisoner exchange deal. “Ilana and I remained with them for the whole period. They were about 30 years old. They weren’t armed or in uniform. We stayed in that apartment for about 10 days and were then moved to another one. And that was it,” Atzili said. According to the woman, the guards were a teacher and a lawyer. “Both
are married and each of them has a child.” In a related context, seven Palestinian prisoners in Israel’s Ofer military prison in the occupied West Bank have tried to take their own lives because of the harsh treatment they received from Israeli jailers. “Prisoners are subjected to beatings during arrest and after their
detention in Israeli jails,” the Commission of Detainees’ and
Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said in a statement. The Commission said the seven detainees attempted to commit suicide due to the inhumane detention conditions and their exposure to constant brutal treatment at the hands of Israeli jailers. As they are also exposed to starvation, medical neglect and other unbearable violations, prisoners have come to prefer death to the miserable incarceration conditions in Israeli prisons, the Commission affirmed. *** Euro-Med: Israel’s displacement orders to Palestinain civilians are a “crime against humanity” Sunday 28-July-2024 GENEVA, (PIC) The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has accused the Israeli occupation army of deliberately exposing the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza to coercive living conditions that lead them to actual death as part of its ongoing genocidal war on the coastal enclave. “The forced displacement orders that were issued by the Israeli army in the north of Rafa'h and south of Khan Younus in the southern Gaza Strip, the systematic expulsion of residents from their homes and places of residence, the confinement of hundreds of thousands of them in limited geographical areas that are constantly shrunk, and their exposure to deliberate targeting from air, land and sea reflect Israel’s persistence in committing the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip for the 295th consecutive day,” Euro-Med said in a statement on Saturday. Euro-Med explained that the evacuation orders that were issued by Israeli forces on Saturday morning in different neighborhoods of Khan Younusare “in fact forced displacement orders that constitute a crime against humanity according to the Rome Statute.” “The recent forced displacement operation is part of the largest mass forced displacement campaign that has so far affected about 2,000,000 people in the Gaza Strip, most of them forcibly displaced multiple times,” Euro-Med underlined. Euro-Med called anew for international action to stop Israel’s genocide and all its war crimes in Gaza, protect the civilians there, ensure its compliance with the international law and the International Court of Justice’s orders, and impose effective sanctions on it. *** Lavrov: Netanyahu’s goal of destroying Hamas is unrealistic Sunday 28-July-2024 MOSCOW, (PIC) The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said on Sunday that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declared goal of destroying the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip “is not realistic at all.” The Russian news agency TASS reported Lavrov’s confirmation that “the destruction of Hamas is an unrealistic task, as it is an existing organization with sufficient capabilities and support, including from the Islamic world.” Commenting on the incident in the occupied Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams, the Russian Foreign Minister pointed out that Moscow does not yet see any prospects for ending the bloodshed in the Middle East, adding that the Israeli retaliatory measures against the Gaza Strip are unacceptable. While Lavrov said that Moscow condemns all terrorist attacks, he expressed his surprise at Israeli statements claiming that there are no civilians in Gaza, and that they are all terrorists starting from the age of three. The Russian minister pointed out that his country opposed the methods chosen by the Israeli leadership to respond to the Al-Aqsa Flood, stressing that the Israeli methods have violated all conceivable standards of international humanitarian law. Lavrov added, “I felt deeply disturbed when Israel and its leaders began to argue that these methods are fully justified.” He referred to what he called the double standards of the West regarding the Ukrainian conflict and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying that these standards “are now clearly visible.” Earlier, in mid-December of the past year, the Russian Foreign Minister said that it is unacceptable for Israel to use the Hamas Movement as a pretext to collectively punish the Palestinian people. Israel is waging a genocide war on Gaza, which has resulted in more than 39,000 martyrs, more than 90,000 wounded, mostly children and women, and 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction of health and educational infrastructure and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children, according to United Nations data. *** Lazzarini: Only 14 percent of Gaza not under evacuation orders Sunday 28-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini said that Israeli evacuation orders create “havoc” and “panic” among the population of the Gaza Strip. Currently, only 14 per cent of areas in Gaza are not under the “evacuation orders,” he added. “Almost everyone in Gaza has been impacted by these orders. Many were forced to flee on average once a month since the war began nine months ago,” Lazzarini said on X on Sunday. “This evacuation tactic only brings more misery, fear and suffering for people who have nothing to do with this war.” A man told our UNRWA teams recently that he was forced to flee twice within 10 hours, he added. Lazzarini said, “People continue to search for safety: the most precious, the most nonexistent.” “The people of Gaza are not pinballs or chess pieces, they are people,” he underlined. *** Haniyya calls for pro-Gaza protests on Aug. 3 Sunday 28-July-2024 DOHA, (PIC) 'Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyya announced that Saturday, August 3, will be a “national and international day in support of Gaza and Palestinian prisoners.” In a statement published on Sunday evening, Haniyya called for “mass participation” in marches and demonstrations to demand a halt to Israel’s genocide war on Gaza, and an end to the abuse of “heroic Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli detention.” “We look forward to August 3 being a decisive day of visible action in all parts of Palestine, in refugee camps, in the diaspora, in the Arab and Islamic world, and among all free people of the world, in support of our people in the Gaza Strip and our detainees in the prisons of the occupation,” the 'Hamas leader said. The Gaza Strip has been under brutal bombardment since a cross-border operation was launched by Hamas’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7. Besides the large number of casualties and the huge displacement of people, basic food, fuel, water and medical supplies have run out for the 2.3 million residents in Gaza due to the tight Israeli blockade and the massive destruction of infrastructure and facilities. *** Thousands of Gazans forcibly displaced by Israeli army for 'military operations' GAZA, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Thousands of Palestinian civilians were Sunday forcibly displaced from Al-Bureij camp and its outskirts in central Gaza Strip after the Israeli occupation army warned them to evacuate some areas in preparation for military operations. Eyewitnesses reported that thousands of civilians began to evacuate from areas in Al-Buraij camp and its outskirts, and headed to the city of Dair El-Bala'h andAl- Nusayrat. The occupation army had ordered Palestinians in Al-Buraij and Shuhada areas to evacuate immediately and head to the "humanitarian area" created in Al-Mawasi. During the past months, the occupation army has called on people to leave their places of residence and head to these neighborhoods and blocks in the southern Gaza Strip, claiming that they are "humanitarian and safe." The area that the occupation army claims is "humanitarian" and forces citizens to head to lacks the minimum requirements for human life, in addition to being overcrowded with displaced people. K.T. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces*** On July 28, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on the Gaza Strip resulted in 3 main massacres, in which 66 Palestinian civilians were killed, and the 241 others were injured, in the past 24 hours. This increased the accounted for death toll in Gaza Strip to 39,324 and the injuries to 90,830, since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023. *** Gaza: Death toll surges to 39,324 martyrs Sunday 28-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Sunday that the Israeli occupation army committed three massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 66 civilians and injuring over 241 others, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or lying on roads. In a statement, the health ministry said that the Israeli army killed and injured a large number of civilians in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, but at least 307 of them, including 66 martyrs, were transported to hospitals. The health ministry added that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 39,324 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 90,830 people. *** US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters Day 296 Sunday 28-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered Day 296 on Sunday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians. Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes and attack citizens in different areas of Gaza, especially in Khan Younus and Rafa'h, during the past 24 hours. According to media sources, three civilians from the family of Al-Qasas and an-Najjar were martyred following an Israeli attack on Khan Younus. A number of civilians, including a woman and a girl child, were martyred and others were injured in an Israeli attack on a tent in Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younus. The Israeli army also bombed an area in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southern Gaza, injuring three citizens. Meanwhile, medical sources said that bodies of five martyrs were transported to the morgue of Nasir Hospital following different attacks on Khan Younus. Citizens were able to evacuate a number of martyrs from a bombed area in Bani Suhayla town in eastern Khan Younus. More casualties were reported in other areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today. *** 13 Gazans killed in new Israeli massacres in Khan Younus Sunday 28-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army committed new massacres on Sunday afternoon in Khan Younus, south of the Gaza Strip, killing at least 13 civilians and injuring many others, including children and women. According to local sources, 10 members of the Abu Muslim family in Khan Younus were massacred and several others were injured in an Israeli aerial attack on their destroyed house. The Abu Muslim family had been living in a tent on the ruins of their house since it was bombed in a previous attack on Khan Younus. However, the Israeli army targeted it once again today. The Israeli occupation army also attacked in the afternoon a group of citizens in the Al-Sikka area in Khan Younus, killing three of them. *** Nine Palestinians, including a child, killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza GAZA, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Nine Palestinians, including a child, were killed and several others injured this afternoon in ongoing Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to local and medical sources. In Khan Younus, southern Gaza, Israeli warplanes bombed displaced families' tents in Al-Mawasi area, resulting in the killing of three individuals, including a young girl. Another Palestinian was killed in a separate airstrike in central Khan Younus. Meantime, Civil Defense teams recovered the bodies of four more victims who were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a group of people in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood, west of Gaza City. The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October of last year has so far resulted in 39,324 documented Palestinian fatalities, the majority of whom are women and children, in addition to 90,830 injuries. Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them. M.N. *** More Palestinian casualties in Gaza as the Israeli occupation apartheid regime continues its genocidal bloodbath GAZA, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – At least eight Palestinians were confirmed killed this morning in a series of continued Israeli genocidal airstrikes targeting multiple areas of Khan Younus in southern Gaza. The victims were subsequently transported to Nasir Medical Complex. Simultaneously, WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli artillery targeted the neighborhoods of Tel Al-Hawa, Al-Sabra, Al-Zaytoun, and Al-Shaikh 'Ijleen in Gaza City, while warplanes conducted two airstrikes on Tel Al-Hawa. Additionally, Israeli aircraft bombed a building belonging to the Daghmash family on Al-Mughribi Street in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, although no injuries were reported. Meantime, Israeli military vehicles opened fire with machine guns and deployed illumination flares northwest of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp and north of the Al-Buraij camp in central Gaza. Our correspondent also noted that Israeli forces demolished residential buildings east of Khan Younis, causing thick smoke to billow from the area. Concurrently, warplanes struck the outskirts of Qizan al-Najjar neighborhood south of Khan Younus, while Israeli forces fired at homes and properties in the vicinity. Israeli military vehicles also fired machine gunfire north of Rafa'h in southern Gaza. By July 27, 2024, the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October of last year has so far resulted in 39,258 documented Palestinian fatalities, the majority of whom are women and children, in addition to 90,589 injuries. Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them. M.N. *** *** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces *** Palestinian teenager injured by Israeli gunfire in Balata refugee camp NABLUS, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – A 17-year-old boy was injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire last night in the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, according to medical sources. The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that its teams managed to transport the injured boy to the hospital after facing delays caused by Israeli occupation forces, who fired at ambulance vehicles during the incident. Local sources also reported that Israeli forces surrounded a house in the camp and fired a shoulder-fired rocket at it. No injuries or arrests were reported following this attack. Additionally, Israeli bulldozers demolished parts of the Al-'Arayshi Mall within the camp. This marks the fourth time Israeli forces have raided the Balata refugee camp in the past 24 hours. The raids have been accompanied by heavy gunfire, the presence of snipers, and the arrival of additional reinforcements along with a bulldozer. Since October 7, 2023, a total of 591 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli occupation forces, including 143 children, according to the Ministry of Health. M.N. *** Israeli occupation forces detain six Palestinians in West Bank RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained at least six Palestinians from the occupied West Bank during the last 24 hours, including two children and former prisoners. According to a joint statement by the Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee, the detentions took place across various governorates, including Ramallah and Al-Beerih, Jineen, and Al-Quds (occupied) Jerusalem. This latest round of detentions brings the total number of Palestinians detained since October 7, 2023, to over 9,845. This figure encompasses individuals arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those detained as hostages. M.N. *** Palestinian prisoners at Ofer Prison experiencing starvation, medical neglect, and deprivation of basic rights RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – The crackdown on Palestinian detainees at the Israeli occupation's Ofer Prison has reached a crisis point, with reports of severe mistreatment, including systematic starvation, since October 7, 2023, according to a lawyer from the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority. The lawyer, who recently visited Ofer Prison, southwest of Ramallah, reported seven suicide attempts by detainees due to the dire conditions, brutal treatment by guards, and the use of hunger and medical neglect as forms of collective punishment. The detainees are subjected to beatings during arrest and in prison, especially if they are late for roll call or fail to wake up at the designated time (4 a.m.) each day. One detainee suffered severe burns while taking a shower with excessively hot water, a situation resulting from the prison administration’s control over water temperature. This detainee has not received medical treatment for the burns. Additionally, Amr Abu Khalil, a cancer patient, was assaulted while being transferred for chemotherapy treatment, only to later be informed that his treatment session had been canceled. Another detainee, Basheer Zaghloul Khateeb from Beer Zait, has been subjected to severe beatings during his arrest and has lost over 12 kilograms since his detention on February 18, 2023. The lawyer also highlighted the severe overcrowding in the prison, with at least 11 detainees confined to each cell. Five of them must sleep on the floor while the others share metal bunk beds. They lack basic necessities, including adequate clothing, blankets, and food. M.N. *** Imprisoned Palestinian young man suffers paralysis, as Israeli regime denies him treatment Jineen, Sunday, July 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Ibrahim 'Ammar 'Abbas, a 23-year-old Palestinian from Jineen currently under Israeli detention, has suffered partial paralysis while imprisoned at the Naqab Prison, and Israeli authorities are reportedly refusing to provide him with medical treatment. Abbas’s family stated to WAFA that his health condition has significantly deteriorated due to the lack of medical care. They accused the occupation authorities of neglecting his health condition, which has led to worsening paralysis following an incident on the 15th of this month when Abbas swallowed his tongue, resulting in his partial paralysis. The family has placed full responsibility for his health on the Israeli authorities and noted that despite protests from fellow detainees at the prison—including returning their food trays in protest—there has been no improvement in Abbas's medical treatment. They have called upon humanitarian and human rights organizations to intervene and assist in saving his life. 'Abbas was detained on April 23, 2023, at a military checkpoint near the town of Salfeet in the central West Bank, and has been held under administrative detention without charges or trial. M.N. *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers *** Illegal Israeli settlers torch dozens of olive trees in W. Bank Sunday 28-July-2024 NABLUS, (PIC) A horde of the illegal Israeli extremist Jewish settlers burned on Sunday dozens of olive trees in Madama village, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Chief of the village council 'Abdullah Ziyada said that settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar set fire to a vast tract of agricultural land in the village, destroying dozens of fruitful olive trees in the southern area of Madama. Since the genocidal war on Gaza started last October, Israeli extremist settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank. At least 578 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) since October alone. 5,400 others have been wounded. *** *** Fair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
