Editor's Notes:
Here are some

By July 20, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza
Strip is
45,919+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (38,919), those who are still missing under the rubble (a corrected estimate, on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).
By July 12, 2024, the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment destroyed more than 100 health hospitals and medical facilities, 609 mosques, 3 churches, more than 430,000 housing units, and the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Medical sources added that the hospital's ambulance and emergency department received the slain mother, who was nine months pregnant, in the early hours of dawn today, after the occupation warplanes targeted her home, and she was immediately transferred to the operations department, where doctors began an cesarean birth managed to save the life of the baby. The baby was placed in an incubator at the said Hospital and is reported in stable condition. It is noteworthy that Al-'Awda Hospital in Al-Nusayrat is the only hospital that provides obstetrics and gynecology services in the center of the Strip. Y.S *** Massive rallies in San'aa and Rabat, in support of Gaza Saturday 20-July-2024 SANAA, (PIC) Massive rallies were launched on Friday afternoon in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, in solidarity with the war-torn Gaza Strip. San'aa witnessed the 39th one-million-people rally since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. More than a million Yemenis participated in the Al-Sab'een Square, in solidarity with and support for the Palestinian people in the face of the genocide war that the Israeli occupation army has been carrying out in the Gaza Strip. The one-million-people march kicked off after hundreds of thousands of people performed the Friday prayer in the Al-Sabin square, the largest square in San'aa. More than 23 massive rallies roamed the streets and squares of Sanaa’s various directorates, after the Friday prayer, in solidarity and support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The Yemeni forces, who organized the marches, announced the continuation of mass activities in support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and in rejection of the Israeli aggression and blockade in the Gaza Strip. Rallies also were launched on Friday in the governorates of Al-'Hudaydah, Dthamar, Ibb, 'Amran, Ta-'iz, 'Hajjah, Saada, Raymah, Ma-rib, Al-Jawf, Al-Dhali', La'hij, Al-Mahawiti and Al-Baydha. The participants in all marches affirmed the continuation of the Yemeni support for the Palestinian people, raising the slogan: “Our battle continues until Gaza’s victory.” In a similar context, thousands of Moroccans took to the streets in several cities after the Friday prayer in solidarity with Palestine and the Gaza Strip which has been subjected to an ongoing devastating Israeli war for 10 months, and has lost tens of thousands of martyrs. The Moroccan protesters launched several sit-ins under the slogan “The Palestinian keffiyeh is the symbol of the Palestinian cause”, after the Dean of the Faculty of Science in Ben Msik in Casablanca refused to honor the Moroccan student, Khadija Ahtour, for wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh at the graduation ceremony. The participants in the sit-ins, which were organized for the 41st week in a row by the “Moroccan Authority for the Support of the Nation’s Issues”, expressed their refusal of targeting civilians in Gaza. Many Moroccan cities witnessed solidarity events and sit-ins in support of Gaza including: Qunaitra, Nador, Bani Jareer, Tanja (Tangier), Meknas, Aghadeer, Taroudant, and A'hfir, according to Anadolu Agency. The participants in the protest sit-ins raised Palestinian flags, and banners supporting the Palestinian resistance and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. The Moroccan sit-inners also condemned the Israeli plans to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip and the ongoing Israeli siege, starvation and killing of Palestinians. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been launching with the US support a war of genocide on Gaza which has left more than 128,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, mostly children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and man-made famine. *** WHO warns of the spread of epidemics in Gaza Saturday 20-July-2024 GENEVA, (PIC) The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the destruction of health infrastructure and environmental conditions in the Gaza Strip “creates an ideal environment for the spread of diseases.” WHO’s spokesman, Christian Lindmeier, stressed that “the destruction of the health system in Gaza, the insecurity, the blocked access and the constant displacement of the population, the lack of medical supplies, poor water quality and poor sanitation, have all led to low routine vaccination rates and an increased risk of diseases that can be prevented with vaccines, Including polio.” On Friday evening, Lindmeier warned that these conditions pose a danger to children and create the environment for the spread of epidemics such as polio. He explained that before the war on Gaza, polio vaccination rates were perfect, and that “polio vaccination coverage, which is made primarily through routine vaccination, was estimated at 89% in 2023, according to the latest routine vaccination estimates for WHO and UNICEF. In 2022, routine vaccination coverage in the occupied Palestinian territory was 95 percent and more, he added. The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced a few days ago that the tests conducted in cooperation with the UNICEF “showed the presence of the polio virus” in the Strip which has been under a genocide war since October 7 last year. Lindmeier said, at a press conference for the United Nations agencies in Geneva, that on July 16, the World Children’s Laboratory Network isolated the polio virus derived from the type 2 in six sewage samples collected on June 23 in environmental monitoring sites in Khan Yunis and Deir Al-Balah in Gaza. “It is important to note that the virus has been isolated from the environment only at this time, and no related paralysis has been revealed,” He added. Lindmeier stated that as part of the response efforts, WHO works in the occupied Palestinian territory with the Palestinian Ministry of Health, UNICEF, UNRWA and the partners to conduct a risk assessment to determine the scope of the spread of the polio virus and the appropriate responses needed to stop any other spread, including fast vaccination campaigns. He pointed to the reality of the health system now in Gaza, where only 16 hospitals out of 36 hospitals work in part, and 45 out of 105 primary health care facilities. The UN agencies have launched campaigns for four decades to eliminate polio, which is often spread through sewage and contaminated water, but has witnessed a recovery in recent years in Afghanistan and Pakistan and some isolated cases in Nigeria. The Municipality of Dair El-Bala'h, in central Gaza, recently announced the closure of wastewater treatment stations due to a lack of fuel. The municipality warned in a previous statement that the roads will be overwhelmed by sewage and that 700,000 civilians, most of them displaced, will be at risk of developing diseases transmitted through wastewater. The UN estimates that about 70 percent of the water and sewage stations in Gaza were destroyed or damaged by the Israeli intense bombardment. The UN evaluation of two camps in Deir Al-Balah in early June concluded that the average daily personal consumption of water including drinking, washing, and cooking water is less than two liters, which is much lower than the recommended amount (15 liters per day). The WHO announced the spread of hepatitis A in many cities of the Gaza Strip, which until early June, led to 81,700 cases of jaundice, which is one of the main symptoms. *** EU: We will not recognize Israeli changes to 1967 borders Saturday 20-July-2024 BRUSSELS, (PIC) The European Union (EU) affirmed that it will not recognize the changes made by the Israeli occupation authorities to the borders of 1967. In a press statement on Friday, the EU said that “there is a strong consensus in the international community that the only sustainable solution that will achieve peace and security in the Middle East is the two-state solution.” The EU statement came a day after the Israeli Knesset (parliament) passed a decision opposing the establishment of a Palestinian state, even if it were part of a negotiated settlement. The Knesset considered the establishment of any Palestinian state in the aftermath of the events of October 7, 2023 as “a reward for terrorism” and an existential threat to Israel. The EU statement reiterated its firm commitment to a just and lasting peace in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, including Resolutions 2735, 2728, 2720, and 2712, on the basis of the two-state solution. The statement explained that the Union will continue to work actively with international and regional partners to revive the political process to achieve this goal, noting that the lack of hope or horizon for the Palestinian people will deepen the conflict. The Israeli occupation army has been waging a war of extermination on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has so far resulted in 38,848 martyrs, 89,459 injured, mostly women and children, the displacement of about 1.9 million people, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction of the health and educational infrastructure and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children, according to UN and local data. *** ýThe International Court of Justice: The Israeli occupation of Palestine is illegal, and Israel must end its presence in the Palestinian territoriesý ýýThe Hague 19-7-2024 WAFA - ýý The ýýInternational Court of Justice confirmed on Friday that the presence of the Israeli occupation is illegal in the Palestinian territoriesýý.ý ýIn its advisory opinion issued today, on the judicial repercussions of Israeli practices and their impact on the occupied territories, the Court affirmed that the Israel must stop the occupation and end its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territories as soon as possibleýý.ý ýThe President of the Court, Judge Nawaf Salam, read out the advisory opinion during theýýpublic session held by the Court at its headquarters "Peace Palace" in The Hague, the Netherlands, ýýin which he stressed that the Israeli occupation is illegal and that the Israel must end its occupation.ý ýAccording to the Court's opinion, the Israel must immediately cease any new settlement activity and remove all settlers from the occupied Palestinian territoriesýý.ý ýThe advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice included that the Israel must compensate for the material and moral losses of individuals in the occupied Palestinian territoriesýý.ý ýThe Court stressed the duty of States not to recognize the illegal presence of settlers and the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and not to provide any assistance that would assist the Israel in maintaining the status quo in the OPTýý.ý ýThe advisory opinion included the emphasis on the obligation of international organizations, including the United Nations, not to recognize the legitimacy of the status quo and the illegal presence of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territoriesýý.ý ýThe International Court of Justice stressed that the United Nations, the General Assembly and the Security Council should consider additional measures to put an end to Israel's illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territoriesýý.ý ýOn November November 11, 2022, the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, the Special Committee on Political and Decolonization Issues, adopted a draft resolution submitted by the State of Palestine requesting a legal opinion and an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice, on "the legal consequences arising from the ongoing violation by Israel of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and from its long-term occupation, settlement and annexation of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including measures to change the demographic composition of a city." A'hmed Mousa Al-Qanbar, the owner of the house, said that he was forced to demolish his house, which houses his family and four children, in order to avoid paying exorbitant costs to the Israeli municipality if it carries out the demolition. It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities demolished 318 facilities and notified the demolition of 359 others in the occupied West Bank, including Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), during the first half of 2024, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission. Under the pretext of building without a permit, which is rarely granted to Palestinians in the occupied city, the Israeli municipality has been demolishing or forcing Palestinians to demolish their own houses as part of a policy aimed to restrict Palestinian expansion and growth in occupied Jerusalem. Palestinians in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) find themselves compelled to tear down their homes after receiving a demolition order to avoid paying exorbitant costs to the Israeli municipality if it carries out the demolition. Palestinians say they are forced to build without permits because the Israeli municipality discriminates against them and refuses to issue permits or places unreasonable conditions that they cannot afford to issue a permit.
