August 4, 2024
Editor's Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli
war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip, based on the
By August 4, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza
Strip is
46,583+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (39,583), those who are still missing under the rubble (an estimate of at least 7,000+).
By July 12, 2024, the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment destroyed more than 100 health hospitals and medical facilities, 609 mosques, 3 churches, more than 430,000 housing units, and the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. The Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center clarified that the death toll from the airstrike, which targeted the outskirts of the Ma'hmoudiya area in Al-Nabatiya district, has risen to two. This follows the killing of an individual in his sixties, who was brought to Al-Nabatiya Hospital in the aftermath of the strike and succumbed to his injuries. M.N. *** 'Hamas calls for urgent int’l action to hold Israel accountable for its crimes in Gaza Sunday 4-August-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The 'Hamas Movement has called on the international community to take urgent action to hold Israel accountable for its horrific war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip and expose the lies it makes to justify its attacks on civilians. “The criminal attack that was carried out by the aircraft of the fascist occupation army on 'Hamama School, which shelters thousands of displaced people, in Al-Shaikh Radhwan neighborhood in Gaza City and led to the martyrdom of 15 defenseless displaced civilians in an initial toll and the injury of dozens confirms that the terrorist occupation government is insistent on continuing its brutal genocidal war and defying international values and resolutions,” Hamas said in a statement on Saturday. Hamas also accused the Israeli occupation army of persisting in making lies to justify its attacks on civilian sites, including schools, hospitals and displacement centers and shelters, through claiming they are used for military purposes. The Movement warned against Israel’s persistence in killing, terrorizing and starving the Palestinian people in Gaza, saying such crimes are aimed at forcing them to leave their land. *** Torture and illness: Gaza detainees describe the Israeli inhumane treatment at the Ofer prison RAMALLAH, Sunday, August 4, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has released disturbing testimonies from detainees from Gaza held in the Israeli Ofer Prison. The accounts, collected from detainees Mu'hammed Jamous, 44, Fadi 'Ayyad, 39, and Fadi Howaydi, 38, reveal severe abuse and mistreatment from the moment of their detention. During a recent visit by the commission's lawyer, the detainees recounted the brutal conditions they faced. "What we experienced was real fascism," they said. "We were stripped of our clothes, beaten, tortured, and bound, with our eyes blindfolded." The detainees described the Israeli soldiers as "rabid beasts" who took pleasure in their suffering, highlighting their hunger, thirst, and the relentless pain they endured. They expressed disbelief at their own survival under such conditions. The abuse, according to the detainees, began immediately upon their detention from Gaza, continuing through transportation in military vehicles, where they faced insults, degradation, and severe torture. The conditions in the detention camps were described as so horrific that they wished for the earth to swallow them up rather than face the inhumane treatment. They reported experiencing systematic abuse, including broken bones, open wounds, and severe beatings. The detainees also faced further torment in hospitals, where they were subjected to additional forms of torture. "Our minds cannot comprehend the extent of what is happening to us," they added. The detainees also described their constant confinement in painful positions and the use of attack dogs, toxic gas, and pepper spray in their cells. Many detainees from Gaza reportedly lost consciousness multiple times due to the beatings, with some succumbing to death under torture, like the martyr Islam Sarsawi. "Today, we are all sick," the detainees concluded. "Our bodies are exhausted, and we have become prey to illness and injury. No medical treatment or medication is provided. Despite these dire conditions, we cling to the hope of returning to our families alive." M.N. *** UNRWA: Israel is waging a silent war on the West Bank Saturday 3-August-2024 NEW YORK, (PIC) UNRWA has warned that the humanitarian situation in the occupied West Bank deteriorates day after day due to the silent war that is waged by Israeli forces on the Palestinian citizens there. “The situation in the West Bank is worsening daily. Nour Shams and Toulkarm refugee camps are suffering from water shortages and electricity outages,” UNRWA said on its X page on Friday. “Israeli security forces’ operations continue causing destruction and threatening the lives of people in the area. This ‘silent war’ has to end,” UNRWA emphasized. Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank, including Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), since October 7, 2023, in the midst of near-daily deadly Israeli raids and strikes. At least 592 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 5,400 others injured by Israeli gunfire and attacks in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) since last October. *** Palestinian NGOs: Aid trucks to Gaza decreased by 60% Saturday 3-August-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian NGO Network warned of the increasing repercussions of the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip amid the escalating Israeli aggression against civilians in the Strip and the restricted access to humanitarian aid. The NGO network confirmed in a statement that it monitored a significant decrease in the number of aid convoys to the Gaza Strip during July by nearly 60 percent compared to April, before Rafa'h border crossing was closed. The network explained that even before the closure of the Rafa'h crossing, the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip were catastrophic, with only 200 trucks allowed into the Strip. The network pointed to the rapid spread of famine, thirst, epidemics, and diseases, especially among children and women, and the worsening health conditions of patients and the wounded due to the closure of the Raf'ah crossing, which puts their lives at real risk. The network noted that Israel has been preventing the entry of various kinds of food and personal hygiene products for weeks, despite the severe shortage of water, and the spread of waste and sewage amid high temperatures, which exacerbates the health conditions of the sick and wounded people in Gaza and threatens their lives. The NGO network held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the repercussions of the ongoing aggression and the siege on the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to hold the Israeli occupation officials accountable for their crimes against humanity. The network called for taking urgent and serious action to stop the Israeli aggression and open the crossings for the entry of aid into the besieged Gaza Strip. The network called for the acceleration of the entry of specialized medical teams to help the medical personnel working in Gaza hospitals, in addition to the entry of medicines and medical equipment and supplies, stressing the need to urgently evacuate the patient and the wounded for receiving treatment abroad. *** PFLP: Israel’s assassination policy will not weaken the resistance Saturday 3-August-2024 RAMALLAH, (PIC) The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) mourned the Toulkarm refugee camp martyrs, pledging that the assassination crime “will not pass without punishment.” The PFLP reiterated in a press statement on Saturday that the Israeli assassination policy will not discourage the heroic resistance fighters and will not break the will of the Palestinian people, stressing that it will promote their commitment to national principles and rights, and persistence in pursuing the approach of resistance despite crimes, massacres, and assassinations. The Front called on the Palestinian masses in Toulkarm to adhere to the general strike announced by the national forces in mourning for the martyrs. Nine Palestinian resistance fighters were killed this morning in Israeli drone attacks on two vehicles near Toulkarm. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces*** On August 4, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on the Gaza Strip resulted in 2 main massacres, in which 33 Palestinian civilians were killed, and the 118 others were injured, in the past 24 hours. Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) bombed a vehicle carrying five young men on the road between the towns of Attil and Zeita, north of Toulkarm, which set the car on fire and completely charred the car along with the bodies of the martyrs. A few hours later, a second airstrike on a vehicle in Bal’a town, east of Toulkarm, killed four other resistance fighters. The Israeli occupation army announced in a statement that its warplanes targeted a group of armed resistance fighters in Toulkarm. The Director of Thabit Thabit Governmental Hospital in Toulkarm, Dr. Amin Khadir, confirmed on Saturday that one of the people killed in the first attack was Haitham Baleidi, 25, from Toulkarm refugee camp, leader of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, along with four martyrs whose remains are charred. Over the last months, Israeli occupation forces have been imposing similar measures across the occupied West Bank, including the use of iron gates and earth barriers at the entrances to various towns and villages.
