We all have our dreams

By Maisoon Rice

Feb 23, 2004

We all have our hopes and aspirations, we all have our dreams

But Peace, I don’t understand, is so difficult to attain, it seems.

Our personal successes and achievements are all well and good

Do we acknowledge wishes of others, whose future can affect our daily lives and our fickle mood??

What is our gain from these accomplishments if we choose to ignore

The problems of others, struggling to make ends meet, and striving for oh so much more!

Can we justify their torment and their sorrow with dignity or pride?

Or do we, instead, choose to deny them our Humility by turning our backs on them and hide.

Can we do anything, big or small, to minimize or end their sadness and their tortuous pain?

For their anguish, dear God, is our Failure too, and sadly not our gain.

When was the last time you reached out and offered the poor, the homeless and the hungry a helping hand?

Or did those who are less unfortunate, choose to bury their haughty heads, instead, in the cold sand.

What will it take to unite our now dysfunctional Brotherhood of Man?

Will it be love, respect, Compassion, indeed can it be done

If we-put our faith and hearts into it, Yes! Yes! We can!

Time is of the essence, as it is short and sweet

The task facing us, though very arduous, is our battle, which is not  impossible to defeat.

Delve into our souls

A crucial time for reflection and intense insight

How many of us go deep enough and search for the true Light.

Delve into our souls and ask our conscience the endless question:

Why are there deaths of so many innocents, too many to mention?

One minute they breathe life’s magnificent energy, next minute they are killed and die!

What is it really all for, to fill our eyes with tears, causing us to lament and cry?

Hatred, Intolerance, Prejudice and Arrogance, it sadly is too much to bear.

There is so much beauty in our world, why oh why can’t we learn to share?

The precious Gift of Life bestowed by Almighty God should make us feel Proud.

We should hold on to His Compassionate Mercy, His Values and shout them out loud!

Instead, what do we do but withdraw into our own selfish shell

Lose our love and Humanity and follow the sad damning Path to Hell.

Take heart, God is Listening.

Take heart, there are many who are aware of your suffering and do genuinely care.

We too absorb your grief and cry out loud “this is not fair”!

We know you are hurting and find it really hard to endure

The injustice afflicted, shared by hearts and consciences that are clean and pure.

The Past has wistfully dwindled away, our sorrowful Present is alas still here.

Endless prayers for the Future, hearts and minds full of terror and fear.

So many unanswered questions, when, oh when will it all end?

Countless generations of innocent souls shattered for Our Dear Lord to mend.

Take comfort in knowing Almighty God one day, will wipe our tears and that He, not only can see, but also hear.

We must therefore persevere with our prayers and ask His Blessing for all that we love, cherish and hold so dear.

Heartbroken and weary at the state of the world

So much ruin and corruption that is still left untold

Deceit, Conspiracies, and lies rule the day

Full of pain, hurt and frustration, what more can we say?

My heart is bleeding, my eyes full of tears

Cruelty and injustice feeding the innocent souls with fears

Mass destruction, devastation of Mother Earth on her Sacred Land

Wake up, stand firm, and unite, the fate of our World lies in your hand.

With proud heads held up high, join in the just Fight

Restore Justice, Sanity and Compassion to Humanity with all of your might.

For Peace and Tolerance to survive, we must remove the Evil that has engulfed our Planet in a Sea of Sin

Giving rise to false Truths, avarice and control that has been allowed to reign in.

What can we do, what must and should we do?

To stop this Obscenity and madness before it destroys our lives too.

Be brave and strong, with eyes open wide, look and see

That Ignorance is not Bliss, say no to the sentiment  “what will be, will be”!

It is our Future, our World, and our Destiny to do as we will

And not that of those power hungry individuals and their friends on Capitol Hill.

With Courage, Determination and a Universal voice

We must stand firm and tell these Evil men that WE do have a Choice.

Oh what a fracas, oh what a din,

It’s given me a headache, my head’s in a spin

Boom, boom, thud, thud is all I can hear

Seems to be getting closer, ever so near.

Too much to handle, I jump out of my seat

My mind in a flutter, my heart skips a beat

Thoughts, thoughts flooding my mind, oh dear I can’t win

Must take a deep breath, relax and not let them in.

Why is my heart torn in two and in so much pain?

Why is there all to lose, and nothing left to gain?

Is anyone listening, does anyone genuinely care

For the suffering of others and their wretched welfare.

Time just seems to stand still in their own little world

Not a care for others whose plight continues to unfold.

Can anyone help, does anyone dare

To relieve the wounds of those suffering in that other world out there?

Are you ready to give and reach out your hand?

Instead of always burying your head in the sand.

Can we not show them some compassion, understanding and love?

After all, are we not all the loving children of our Dear Lord above?

I seek a world where all the people of Mother Earth can stand and unite
Irrespective of their faith or colour and for no desires to fight.
Holding hands, in unison, to sing and praise  Almighty God.
To pray for good health, happiness and good will to all of mankind.
May we all be blessed with a love for Peace that we at present are unwilling to find.
May all our hopes, dreams and aspirations come true.
So that we too can enjoy Life, so precious, which is not just for a select few.
May we all experience God's healing hands
And through His healing have the courage to take a stand
Against injustice, desperation and pain
And hopefully make our world better and far more sane.
