Israeli Beasts of Prey Ravage

Again & Again & Again

By Genevieve Cora Fraser

June 8, 2004

Dedicated to the 70 year old martyr Muhammed El-Najjar who died of a heart attack in Rafah on May 27, 2004 after being tormented by IDF soldiers as they held his multi-generational family hostage in one room of their four-storey home, ransacked and defiled the house, denied him medical attention and used the home as a sniper's post to kill his friends and neighbors.

IDF soldiers, Israel’s finest

Snaked their way

Into the heart of Rafah

Refugee society Monster

Men with bulldozer claws

Tore at the hearths

And homes rebuilt

From earlier devastations

An earthquake of hatred

Assaulted the poor

Tormented the sick

Ripped the lame

From limb to limb

Urinated and defecated

Over the treasured

Belongings impossible

For them to carry

Israel’s Finest stole

Shekels, jewelry

Cell phones

Anything and everything

As their forefathers

Taught them

Al Nakba lightning

Strikes once, twice

Thrice over and over

Snipers swift as jackals

Ravage the lives

But not the souls

Of the People

Israel reviles

As it revels

In inhumanity

Looses its grip

On sanity

Ugly

Tormented

Sick

Sick

Sick
