BORN WITHOUT HOPE

Born in occupied lands
they live in the shadow of doom
Without hope, trapped behind
a "wall" of loathing and deceit
are the children of Palestine
With closed eyes humanity
justifies the unforgivable
The road to peace blocked
by debris and cruelty unimagined
A state of hopelessness, unprovoked
surrounds and tortures their souls
yet their fighting spirit remains alive
in the face of deadly consequence
Refugee camps decimated
ripped apart by the claws of hatred
Their prayers for deliverance
resonate around the universe
A cold unfeeling world
mesmerised by stock markets
and currency values sits idly by
waiting for the miracle of peace
Unable to bear the pain of Palestinians
humanity turns a deaf ear to their pleadings
The demonised innocents of occupation
watch in horror at the action and inaction
of an uncaring unkind world.
