Silent Cry by Nahel A. Rimawi 12/14/03
The tears flow from my eyes as I write these words, I cry for a people ravished by wars, a people thrown out of their homes, a people scattered across the world forced to live in no mans land. The tears flow from my eyes as I write these words I cry for the children who grew up in fear, I cry for their mothers who have shed many tears, I cry for their fathers who watch them helplessly die of starvation, I cry for the relentless manipulation. The tears flow from my eyes as I write these words I cry for an old woman sitting on her destroyed home, she weeps over the murder of her husband and only son, she weeps because she is alone she has no one. The tears flow from my eyes as I write these words, I cry for a country ravished by wars, I cry for Palestine and the fifty years it has suffered from a brutal occupation; political leaders, poets, teachers, women, and children have been put to death by this Zionist regime, the constant terror makes me want to scream. The tears flow from my eyes as I write these words, I cry for the village Deir Yaseen, for Sabra and Shatila, and for Jenin who were massacred while asleep. Their plan was to make us forget but their blood pumps in all of our hearts and we will never forget their screams. I cry for the world that lost its innocence when the killers were allowed to live free, only Allah will punish them for there deeds.
