The Infrastructure Syndrome

By Ali Al-Hail

Al-Jazeerah, October 31, 2006

What's called the 'Arab Parliament' symbolically, at least must convene to convey Arab masses' condemnation to daily Palestinians' genocide by Israel. Since Arab governments are absolutely, falling under the effect of 'an infrastructure syndrome', even if Israel ends the collective existence of the whole Palestinians all together, they will never react.

Arab media, and press are as ever barking, but not biting  dogs. They are designed to function in this passive way. Arab street is deprived to become so. Thus, Arab masses breakout from within. Their failure to take to street, is on the long run dangerous. It makes them as temporary bombs that, could explode at an unpredictable moment.

Almost entirely, without a single exception, every Arab, and Muslim person feels that, Palestinians shouldn't be left any longer to the Israeli killing machine. Only, since January 25th US-EU-cart blanched-Israeli occupation forces massacred an average of approximately, 5 Palestinian civilians, including children, and women on a daily basis. Many more had been injured, maimed, and arrested, including women, and children (Genevieve Cora Frazer, www.aljazeerah.info, Center of Palestinian Human rights).

If one should apply the French definition of a genocide that was applied by the French to the Armenian genocide, which is, "the organized killing of a people to end their collective existence", US-EU-encouraged-Israeli occupation forces have exactly, been doing this "organized killing" i.e., a genocide. France, the EU, in which France is a major player, and the neocons of US have also been doing their bits, and pieces in "the organized killing" to end the collective existence of Palestinian people. By boycotting the elected government of Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) since January 25th, they have been collectively, punishing nearly, 3.5 million Palestinians, third of them are known to be children. Though article 33 of the 4th Geneva Convention prohibit a collective punishment, the US, and the EU the supposedly, patrons of all Geneva conventions have defeated their own argument on the topic.

This situation has since then put Palestinians between the US-EU international embargo, and the Israeli butchering machine. Despite this predicament, Palestinians have been demanded by the boycotters not to show any form of resistance, if they would want the US-EU sanctions lifted.

The dilemma here is that, Israeli occupation forces are taking a full advantage of the international picketing against Hamas by carrying out daily genocides against Palestinian civilians. The aim of course, to manifest to the boycotters that, Palestinians are still resisting. This means that, they are terrorists. Therefore they are not eligible for international aid.

Israel is succeeding because it has the International community by its side, while Palestinians are left alone by their Arab neighbors, who see in them as a major headache, and an imminent threat to their infrastructures. However, because Palestinians have been through worse than this before since 1948, and because they are fully aware of that, Arab governments are too weak to help its own people, let alone helping them, plus they are not elected, as such they don't represent the Arab masses, they are facing Israel and the US-EU boycott, but are giving the US, the EU, and the whole assumable democratic World and teaching them a hard lesson in, and about democracy.

This Palestinian belief has been reinforced during the UN-

Sponsored-New democracies which is held, these days in the Qatari capital, Doha. Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, didn't attend as was planed for the reason that, she and her delegate knew that, World parliamentarians would corner her government for rejecting to deal with Hamas elected governments. Also, for arresting elected Parliamentarians in the Palestinian legislation Council. Additionally, the US-EU boycott of Hamas democratically, elected government by majority of Palestinian voters, has been dismayed by most parliamentarians in the conference. Undoubtedly, the absent of the Israeli FM, albeit Israel's desperate need to such an attendance in an Arab-Gulf oil & Gas rich state has been seen as a success to Hamas elected government, and as a defeat to Israel-US-EU boycott.
