Truman Refused to Recognize Israel as a Jewish State, a Copy of his Handwriting

Attached please find a photo copy of the draft
recognition letter of Israel by US government as amended by President
Truman. The application for recognition referred to "the Jewish state".
Truman deleted this and gave recognition to "the new state of Israel". The
draft was amended by hand and signed and dated by Truman.
Please
distribute as widely as you can, particularly among student supporters of
justice for Palestinians.
