the 'Jews Only State', democratically elected
politicians are suspended from the Parliament for
basically being Palestinians and representing
Palestinian interests. I can only guess that this is
what the Israelis mean when they insist upon being
called the ‘Only Democracy in the Middle East’.
The Knesset's Ethics Committee decided today to
suspend MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad) from all Knesset
activities until the end of the current session which
ends in two weeks, following her participation in last
year's Gaza flotilla. According to the Ethics Committee,
'participation in flotilla does not fall within an MK's
legitimate freedom of action.'
I guess that Israel doesn’t really need enemies, it
brings itself down pretty effectively.

of a former healthy economy, our president has signed
over 3 billion a year for Israel for the next
ten years, and 2 billion, we believe, for Egypt. Then,

Let's take each paragraph for distortions and
historical inaccuracies (and there are many) that Ms. Schrader cities in her
diatribe. First, Israel might be a "tiny country" when compared to the
entire Arab world, but it's the fourth most militarily powerful country in
the world (thanks to the US) behind the United States, China and Russia.
Tiny doesn't count when you're loaded with nuclear bombs, Phantom jets, et
cetera.
"Jews vacated the Gaza Strip and gave it to the
Palestinians". Who does she think were living there before the Jewish
settlers from Russia and Brooklyn, under the military protection of Israel,
occupied Gaza and built settlements by driving out the indigenous
inhabitants?
Indians?
And when these errant settlers were relocated to the West Bank, occupying
more Palestinian territory, Israel imposed a total land, sea and air
blockade of the entire Gaza Strip, with the intention of starving the over
million Gaza inhabitants, who, Ms Schrader might think, happened to be
living there as a "fluke of history".
"Palestinians are occupiers of
Jewish land". Incredible! Who does Ms. Schrader think were living there
for thousands of years before these European Jews came and occupied
Palestine? Eskimos??
And what have the Palestinians got to do with
the Holocaust? Aside from the present days "holocaust" against the
Palestinians, the blame for that sad episode in "man's inhumanity to man",
should be put on the Europeans and not on the Arabs.
In conclusion,
Ms. Schrader,more American journalists need to report the 60 years of brutal
occupation by Israel of Palestinian, Syrian and other Arab territories and
people. As Desmond Tutu remarked: " If people remain neutral in situations
of injustice, then they are complicit in that injustice".

Press TV: What's the latest from the
flotilla itself?
Larudee: Well,
the news changes every day in terms of what is possible
and how we have to adjust to our plans here. The
situation is that Greece is strongly blocking, until
now, our efforts to leave port.
They have told
several of the boats that they have no permission to
leave, and that, in some cases, refueling of the ships
has been denied, and this sort of thing.
Press TV: Israel has threatened to take
military action against the humanitarian aid flotilla,
what is Tel Aviv afraid of in your opinion?

To put it in simple terms, they are afraid of the truth,
because that is what a non-violent effort is about.
Non-violent efforts tend to expose hypocrisy and human
rights abuses and all this sort of things.
Obviously, Israel is well prepared to deal with military
threats. They are not so well prepared to deal with
non-violent situations where we are defying these rules
and regulations, their abuses of human rights, and
therefore the only spin they can really put on it is to
say that these people are really not violent. They use
every trick in the book but in fact if there are no
weapons on board, and there is no one who is dangerous
on board, and we are not even going through Israeli
waters or Israeli territory, it's very hard to make that
case.
Press TV: Have Israeli
threats had any impact on the activists?
Larudee: Well, of course there are at
least two of the boats that have been directly
sabotaged, the propeller drive shafts of the boats have
been cut and made extremely dangerous, they didn't
actually break because they were discovered, but it's
very costly and time consuming to repair them.
One of those boats, the Irish boat, is definitely out of
commission; it is not going to be in the flotilla. The
other one is under repair and we believe it is ready to
go soon.
Press TV: So you are
going to continue with the journey despite all this
sabotage?
Larudee: We are going
to do everything possible to do this, and we think that
we can bring some pressure on the Greek government to
release us. So, we are just going to keep trying until
we have no other choice.

Why do you think the West has kept silent on this, and
if they have spoken, they have warned the activists,
haven't they?
Larudee: They
have warned the activists against entering Israeli
waters which we never intended to do in the first place.
They have warned the activists against doing anything
which would put Israel in the position where it would
have to defend itself. And we are no threat to Israeli
security in anyway; this is all a smoke screen. It is an
attempt to provide justification for an attack on us,
and of course Israel's preference is to stop us before
we get out to sea, but if we do get out to sea, they
want justification for taking the most extreme actions
against us.

Presidential candidate Herman Cain on Sunday defended his opposition
to a new mosque in Tennessee, expressing concern about Shariah law and
declaring Americans "have the right" to ban mosques in their
communities.
Cain, who stirred controversy this year by saying he would be
uncomfortable appointing a Muslim to his Cabinet if elected, first
expressed concern Thursday about the controversial mosque in
Murfreesboro, Tenn. That mosque has been the subject of demonstrations
and legal challenges in the wake of the controversy over the so-called
"Ground Zero mosque" in New York City.
Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Cain said he came out against the
Tennessee mosque after talking to members of that community. He said the
site is "hallowed ground" to Murfreesboro residents and that they're
concerned about "the intentions of trying to get Shariah law" -- the
code governing conduct in Islamic societies.
"It's not just a mosque for religious purposes. This is what the
people are objecting to," he said.
Asked whether any community should be able to prohibit a mosque, Cain
said they should. . .
The Council on American-Islamic Relations. . .said Sunday that he
should "apologize" for his latest remarks.
CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper, describing Cain's stance on the
Tennessee mosque as a possible "sign of desperation," said other
Republican candidates and leaders should also distance themselves from
that kind of rhetoric.
"It's incumbent on reasonable people within the Republican Party to
come out strongly and repudiate these kinds of un-American
unconstitutional views," he said. "It's just so bizarre."
