UN agencies express shock and horror at the large number of Palestinian civilians killed by Israel in Gaza

NEW YORK, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

Heads of 18 United Nations agencies and non-profit organizations today called for an immediate ceasefire in Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip expressing “shock and horror” at the large number of Palestinian civilians, mainly children, killed in the month-long Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

“We need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. It’s been 30 days. Enough is enough. This must stop now,” said the heads of UNICEF, UN Women, the World Food Program, the World Health Organization, and Save the Children, among others in a statement.

Almost 10,000 Palestinian civilians were killed and over 24,000 were injured, more than 70- percent of them children, women and elderly, in Israel’s non-stop bombardment of the Gaza Strip, which started on October 7.

“For almost a month, the world has been watching the unfolding situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory in shock and horror at the spiraling numbers of lives lost and torn apart,” the statement said, condemning the killing of scores of aid workers.

“Scores of aid workers have been killed since October 7 including 88 UNRWA colleagues – the highest number of United Nations fatalities ever recorded in a single conflict.”

The heads of the UN agencies called on all parties to respect their “obligations under international humanitarian and human rights law”, including protecting civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and schools and allowing aid into Gaza.

It is “unacceptable” that the population of Gaza is being denied essential goods and services as well as being “bombed in their homes, shelters, hospitals and places of worship,” they said.

Israel kills one civilian every four minutes in Gaza

The health ministry has said that one Palestinian civilian is killed every four minutes due to the relentless Israeli bombardment of the beleaguered Gaza Strip since October 7.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army kills six children and four women every hour in aerial or artillery attacks.

Spokesman for the ministry Ashraf Al-Qudra told a news conference on Monday evening that the Israeli army committed 19 massacres during the last hours in the Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of at least 252 civilians.

Al-Qudra said that the death toll as a result of the Israeli aggression against Gaza since October 7 climbed to 10,022 people, including 5,104 children and 2,641 women, while the number of wounded civilians reached 25,408.

“The occupation is waging a vicious war on hospitals and ambulances in the Gaza Strip,” the spokesman said.

He accused the Israeli army of lying about the presence of safe corridors for displaced civilians and medical personnel, warning that Israel’s alleged safe routes are “nothing but corridors of death.”

Israel's aggression on Gaza/West Bank claims lives of 10,165 Palestinians so far

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the number of Palestinians who were killed as a result of the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank has risen to 10,165, while about 27,000 were wounded wounded.

The Ministry stated, in its daily report on the aggression that 10,010 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip, and more than 25,000 were injured, while in the West Bank the number of fatalities rose to 155, and the wounded to about 2,250, since October 7th.

More than 70% of them are children, women and the elderly.

The report explained that doctors are still forced to perform surgeries without anesthesia, including those who were injured as a result of the bombing and women who give birth by caesarean sections.

The ministry added that 117,000 displaced people, in addition to medical and health personnel and thousands of patients, reside in health facilities.

It stated that there are 1.5 million citizens internally displaced in Gaza, more than 70% of the Strip’s population, where about 690,400 citizens live in 149 emergency shelters designated for UNRWA.

There are also 121,750 citizens staying in hospitals, churches and other public buildings, and about 99,150 in 82 non-UNRWA schools. The remaining 600,000 displaced people are staying with host families, with 150,000 citizens moving to shelter centers in the past few days in search of food and basic services.

Israel’s genocide in Gaza enters day 31

For the 31st consecutive day, Israel’s massive carnage continues to claim more lives in the Gaza Strip as its army persists in bombing more homes, facilities, entire neighborhoods, roads and cars, and massacring civilians, mostly children and women.

Since last night, hundreds of citizens have been martyred and many others have been injured in renewed spates of aerial and artillery attacks on different areas of Gaza.

On Monday afternoon, the health ministry in Gaza said that the death toll neared 1,000 martyrs, mostly women and children, while the number of the wounded citizens climbed to over 25,408.

About 1,270 children are among 2,600 civilians reported missing in the debris from air raids, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that one of its paramedics was seriously injured when a warplane bombed the entrance of Al-Quds Hospital in the west of Gaza City.

The Israeli occupation army also bombed a house in Al-Amal neighborhood in western Khan Younus and an apartment building in Gaza City. Several casualties have been reported.

The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza said that the Israeli army carried out about 450 airstrikes last night, turning Gaza into a mass of fire with non-stop explosions, after cutting off communication and internet services.

In the morning, a number of civilians were martyred and many others were injured when the Israeli army bombed a house in Dair El-Bala'h in central Gaza.

The health ministry in Gaza said that the Israeli army targeted the psychiatric hospital and the eye hospital in Gaza City, largely destroying them.

15 civilians were also killed and several others were injured when an aerial attack targeted the house of Abu 'Alwan family in Tal al-Sultan neighborhood in western Rafa'h.

In northern Gaza, an artillery attack on a school housing dozens of displaced families in Bait Lahiya killed one civilian and wounded many others.

15 other citizens, mostly women and children, were reportedly killed and dozens were injured when warplanes bombed al-Zawayda town in central Gaza and other areas of Gaza, including the house of Al-Qudra family in Khan Younus street.

Warplanes also intensively bombed the western coast of Gaza City following armed clashes between resistance fighters and Israeli forces.

Journalist Mu'hammed Al-Jaja, a consultant at the Press House, was martyred, along with his wife, daughters, parents, siblings, and a number of his displaced relatives, when an airstrike destroyed his house in al-Nasr neighborhood in Gaza City.

Local residents in Al-Shati refugee camp, north of Gaza, have been appealing since last night to rescue and evacuate dozens of victims after Israeli warplanes bombed an entire residential square.

Medical sources affirmed that at least 45 civilians were killed during Israeli aerial attacks last night on Dair El-Bala'h City and Zawayda town.

Eight civilians were also killed and others, including kids suffering from cancer, were injured when an overnight airstrike bombed the third floor of A-Ranteesi Hospital, west of Gaza.

Last night, the Israeli army bombed a house belonging to Al-Sinwar family in Jabalya refugee camp, killing and wounding an unknown number of civilians.

Ongoing Israeli bombardment targets only psychiatric and eye hospitals in Gaza, killing more people

GAZA, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

The ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip from the air, land and sea killed and injured dozens of people and destroyed large parts of the only psychiatric and eye hospitals in Gaza.

Medical sources said 103 people were killed since last night and more than 100 were injured.

Air strikes targeted homes in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City and Al-Amal neighborhood west of Khan Younus in the south of the Gaza Strip killing and wounding dozens of people.

A baby girl was killed and eight others were injured in an attack on a house in Khan Younus, as three others were killed in a strike on a bus south of the Gaza Strip.

Two others were killed and 15 people were injured in an attack on a house in Jabalya, north of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said more than 10,000 Palestinians were killed since the start of the aggression on October 7 and over 24,000 were injured, most of them children, women and elderly.

On the 31st day of Israel’s war on Gaza, dozens killed and injured in air, land and sea bombardment

For the 31st day of aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli war machine killed and injured dozens of people as health ministry reports said the number of killed so far approached 10,000, mainly children, women and elderly.

With the Internet and all communications cut by Israel from the Gaza Strip for the third time in this war, the Red Crescent and civil service said its crews have not been able to reach areas bombed by Israel to help in the search and rescue.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes attacked two houses in Dair El-Bala'h and Al-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip after midnight, killing 45 of their residents, mainly children, as the search for survivors trapped under the rubble continued.

Three people killed in an attack on a house in Bait 'Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip were brought to the Indonesian Hospital in Bait Lahiya.

In Rafa'h, in the south of the Gaza Strip, six people were killed when a warplane targeted a house west of Rafa'h.

Series of airstrikes pound western and northwestern Gaza city, several people killed and injured

Israeli warplanes tonight launched a series of devastating airstrikes on the western and northwestern parts of Gaza city.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli war crafts shelled a house on Al-Masoura Street in Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood, killing and injuring several people.

Israeli air strikes pounded the western and northwestern parts of the city as missile boats shelled, with several missiles, different areas to the northwest of the city.

Israeli artillery also shelled Al-Shati (Beach) refugee camp to the west of Gaza, and the surrounding coastal areas.

Artillery-fired white phosphorus was also used by the Israeli military in its attacks against the area.

Israeli strike on civilian car in southern Lebanon kills 3 children and grandmother, critically injures mother

BEIRUT, Sunday, November 5, 2023 (WAFA) –

Three young children and their grandmother were killed and their mother was seriously wounded tonight in an Israeli strike that targeted a civilian vehicle as it was driving between the towns of 'Anata and 'Aitaroun, in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese sources reported that an Israeli drone strike on a civilian car resulted in the killing of three young children, aged 10, 12, and 14, and their grandmother and seriously injured the mother. Their uncle, who works as a journalist, was also injured in the attack.

Unprecedented bombardment by Israel, dozens civilians killed

GAZA, Sunday, November 5, 2023 (WAFA) –

The Gaza Strip tonight saw violent explosions and an unprecedented bombardment by Israeli aircraft and warships, which killed and injured dozens of citizens as communications and Internet services were cut off from the Strip.

WAFA correspondents said that the violent and unprecedented occupation raids resulted in the killing of civilians, including children and women, the injury of dozens of citizens, whose number could not be known yet, and the destruction of many inhabited buildings and homes.

According to the sources, the raids targeted the vicinity of Gaza hospitals, Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, Al-Sabra, Al-Rimal, Al-Rimal Al-Janubi, Al-Shati, Al-Safeena, Al-Mashtal, Ansar Complex, Shaikh 'Ijleen, Tel Al-Hawa, and other neighborhoods and areas in Gaza City and its surroundings.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology confirmed that the occupation has disconnected international routes for the third time, and cut off all communications and Internet services from the Gaza Strip.

Dozens of citizens were killed and injured as a result of the Israeli occupation aircraft’s bombing of many residential homes west of Deir al-Balah, and in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Al-Nasr, Shaikh Radhwan, Al-Buraij Camp, Al-Fakhoura in Jabalya, Al-Nusayrat, Al-Buraij Camp, Al-Shuja’iya Neighborhood, Bait Lahiya, and Al-Nasr Neighborhood.

Israeli warplanes bomb roof of Gaza hospital, child killed

GAZA, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

A child was killed and three other Palestinians were injured after the Israeli occupation aircraft Monday afternoon bombed parts of the roof of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.

WAFA correspondent said that the occupation aircraft bombed the roof of the emergency department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, which is considered the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip, wounding a group of civilians, and killing a child.

The hospital houses about 50,000 displaced people, in addition to the medical and health staff and patients inside it. Al-Shifa Hospital has been operating for days with a backup electric generator, and it's under threat of stopping work completely if it is not provided with the necessary fuel to continue its work.

This is the first time, during the current aggression, that the occupation has directly targeted the Shifa Medical Complex.

During the current aggression against the Gaza Strip, the occupation forces directly bombed several hospitals, such as the Baptist Hospital in which a massacre was committed, in addition to bombing the vicinity of the hospitals of Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa Martyrs, Nasser, the Indonesian, and Turkish hospital.

Israeli forces kill four Palestinians in Tulkarm

TULKARM, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

Four Palestinians were Monday killed by Israeli forces during a raid into the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm.

Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli special force stormed the city of Tulkarm in a private vehicle bearing a Palestinian registration plate and opened fire at a vehicle in which the four youths were in at Al-Maslakh roundabout in the eastern neighborhood of the city, killing them and injuring a 14-year-old child who was crossing the road at the moment of the shooting.

They were transferred to the Thabit Thabit Governmental Hospital.

It was later announced that the slain Palestinians are Jihad Maharaj Ibraheem Shi'hada, 22,  'Izzuddeen Ra-id Hussain 'Awadh, 25,, Qasim Mu'hammed Rajab, 20, and Mumin Sa'eed Ma'hmoud Balawi, 20.

The Ministry of Health reported the injured child's condition as stable.

The national and Islamic forces in Tulkarm Governorate mourned the four youths, and declared a comprehensive strike in the city tomorrow.

With the killing of the four young men, the death toll in the West Bank since this morning has risen to six, and since October 7th, to 159.

The death toll in Tulkarm has risen since October 7 to 29.

Israeli occupation forces kill Palestinian youth in 'Hal'houl

RAMALLAH, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian youth and seriously injured three others in the town of 'Hal'houl, in the south of the West Bank, according to the Ministry of Health.

Local sources said Palestinians confronted the Israeli occupation soldiers who raided the town while shooting live bullets at the Palestinians killing Ma'hmoud A'hmed Al-Atrash, 21, and injuring five others, three of them seriously.

Many others suffered suffocation from inhaling the toxic tear gas fired by the soldiers at homes in the area.

According to the Ministry of Health, Israel killed 155 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since the start of its aggression on Gaza on October 7.

Youth shot dead by Israeli occupation forces in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian in occupied East Jerusalem alleging he attempted to stab members of the force, according to witnesses.

They told WAFA that the forces shot several bullets at the youth, killing him immediately.

Israeli reports said two members of the occupation force were injured in the stabbing that took place in the main business street in East Jerusalem, Sala'huddeen Street, one of them seriously.

Palestinian youth inured by live fire during confrontations in Bethlehem's al-Khader town

BETHLEHEM, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) –

A Palestinian youth was shot and injured with live fire during confrontations that broke out with Israeli forces tonight in the town of Al-Khadir, to the south of the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, according to medical sources.

Sources at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Bethlehem told WAFA paramedics transported a youth suffering from a live gunshot wound to the thigh to hospital, where his condition was described as moderate.
