While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

Israeli Soldiers Kill A Palestinian Child In Nablus

 JAN 5, 2023

On Thursday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, fatally shot a child and injured three Palestinians, one seriously.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that the soldiers killed Amir Abu Zaytoon, 16, after shooting him in the head.

Media sources said undercover soldiers infiltrated the refugee camp and ambushed the Palestinians before many army vehicles that surrounded the refugee camp invaded it.

Amir was shot shortly after he noticed the undercover soldiers hiding in an alley and ran to warn the residents about their presence.

Many Palestinians protested the invasion before the soldiers fired a barrage of live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs at Palestinians, injuring three Palestinians with live fire, including one who suffered serious wounds.

During the invasion, the army also closed and isolated many neighborhoods and streets.

Furthermore, the army invaded and ransacked many buildings and positioned its sharpshooters on rooftops before the soldiers surrounded and stormed the home of a former political prisoner, Hasan Al-Araishi, and abducted him after attacking and injuring him and several members of his family.

Media sources said the soldiers also abducted a young Palestinian man after shooting him with live fire.

In addition, the soldiers stopped Palestinian ambulances while heading to Balata to provide the needed medical attention to the wounded.

On its part, the Lion’s Den unified resistance group said its fighters exchanged fire with the soldiers invading Nablus city and Balata.

One of the invading Israeli military vehicles sustained damage after being targeted with an explosive charge during before the army pushed more armored vehicles into the refugee camp after surrounding and isolating it.

The slain child is the fourth Palestinian to be killed by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank in the first four days of this year, 2023.

On Tuesday, January 03, the soldiers killed a child Adam Essam Ayyad, 15, after the army invaded the Deheishe refugee camp south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.

On Monday dawn, January 02, dozens of armored Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded Kafr Dan town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin,  demolished the homes of two slain Palestinians, killed Mohammad Samer Houshiyya, 22, and Fuad Mohammad ‘Aabed, 17, and injured at least eight others, one seriously.

Israeli Soldiers Kill A Palestinian Child In Bethlehem

 JAN 3, 2023

On Tuesday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded the Dihaisha refugee camp south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, leading to protests, and killed a Palestinian child.

Media sources said a large Israeli military force invaded the refugee camp before the soldiers stormed, violently searched homes, leading to protests, and fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers killed a Palestinian child, Adam Essam Ayyad, 15, after shooting him with a live round in the chest.

The sources said Palestinian medics provided the seriously injured child with the needed first aid and rushed him to a hospital in Bethlehem, but he succumbed to his wounds.

The soldiers also shot another child with a live round in the arm before the medics rushed him to a hospital.

During the searches of homes in the refugee camp, the soldiers abducted a young man Anan Ahmad Sarabta.

The child is the third Palestinian to be killed by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank in the first three days of this new year, 2023.

On Monday dawn, dozens of armored Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded Kafr Dan town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin,  demolished the homes of two slain Palestinians, killed two young men, and injured at least eight others, one seriously.

Last year, in 2022, Israeli soldiers killed 224 Palestinians, including 59 from the Jenin governorate. 

Israeli Soldiers Kill Two Palestinians, Injure Eight, Near Jenin”

 JAN 2, 2023

On Monday dawn, dozens of armored Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded Kafr Dan town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin,  demolished the homes of two slain Palestinians, killed two young men, and injured at least eight others, one seriously.

Samir Atiya, the head of the Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital in Jenin city, said the soldiers killed Muhammed Samir Houshiyya, 22, from Al-Yamoun town, west of Jenin, after shooting him with several live rounds in the chest.

The Palestinian Center For Human Rights (PCHR) said the soldiers also killed Fuad Mahmood ‘Aabed, 17, from Kafr Dan, after shooting him with live fire in the chest and the right thigh.

The soldiers also shot at least eight Palestinians with live fire, including one who suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Furthermore, Palestinian fighters exchanged fire with the invading Israeli army vehicles in several parts of the town.

The soldiers surrounded the homes of Ahmad Ayman ‘Aabed, 23, and Abdul-Rahman Hani ‘Aabed, 22, whom the soldiers killed on September 14, 2022, and ransacked the properties in preparation for demolishing them and abducted Abdul-Rahman’s brother, Maher.

Update – 06:35: The soldiers wired and detonated two apartments owned by the family of Ahmad Ayman Aabed and one owned by the family of Abdul-Rahman Sobhi ‘Aabed.

Palestine TV said the apartment of Ahmad’s parents was 140 square meters and provided shelter to six family members, while the two apartments of Abdul-Rahman’s parents were 250 square meters and provided shelter to seven family members.

Palestine TV added that Abdul-Rahman’s father and his grandfather own the apartments that were demolished after an Israeli court denied the family’s appeal and claimed that Abdul-Rahman lived in both homes.

The two Palestinian and one Israeli soldier were killed during an exchange of gunfire near the village of Jalama, north of Jenin.

The soldier killed during the invasion on September 14 was identified as the deputy commander of the Nahal Reconnaissance Battalion, Maj. Bar Pelach, 30.

Hundreds of Palestinians marched from Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital carrying the corpses of the two slain Palestinians, chanting for unity, ongoing resistance against the illegal Israeli occupation, and denouncing the escalating Israeli crime.

The invasion into Kafr Dan is still ongoing while the town remains surrounded, and soldiers continue to isolate the area of the two homes.

After forcing the families out, the army wired and detonated the family home of Ahmad ‘Aabed.

Media sources said a large military force, including armored vehicles and bulldozers, invaded the town and surrounded the homes of Ahmad Ayman ‘Aabed, 23, and Abdul-Rahman Hani ‘Aabed, 22, whom the soldiers killed on September 14, 2022, and ransacked the properties.

The soldiers also abducted Maher Hani ‘Aabed, the brother of Abdul-Rahman, from his home and took him to an unknown destination.

The invasion led to protests in several parts of the town before the soldiers fired a barrage of live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot five Palestinians with live fire, including two who suffered serious wounds, before the Palestinians rushed them to a hospital in Jenin.

Israeli Soldiers Seriously Injure A Palestinian In Nablus

 JAN 11, 2023

On Wednesday dawn, Israeli soldiers shot and seriously injured a young Palestinian man in Balata refugee camp, east of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Nablus, said the soldiers shot a young man, in his twenties, with a live round in the head.

He added that the injured young man was rushed to Rafidia hospital in Nablus and was immediately admitted to surgery.

The young man has been identified as Ahmad Abu Junaid, a journalism student at the Al-Quds Open University – Nablus Branch.

The young man was injured after undercover Israeli soldiers infiltrated the refugee camp and surrounded homes before several army vehicles invaded the area, leading to protests.

The soldiers fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades, seriously wounding the young man and causing several other injuries, mainly due to the severe effects of tear gas inhalation.

Eyewitnesses said the army pushed many more military jeeps into the Be’er Ayyoub area, east of the Balata refugee camp, before the soldiers stormed and ransacked several homes, causing excessive property damage, and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

The army said it invaded the refugee camp to arrest “wanted” Palestinians, but the soldiers withdrew after exchanging fire with Palestinian resistance fighters.

Palestine TV said the soldiers hurled grenades at a home they surrounded to abducted Palestinian resistance fighters, in addition to firing Energa anti-tank rifle grenades at it, causing excessive damage.

Israeli Colonizers Injure A Child, A Man, In Hebron

 JAN 11, 2023

On Tuesday evening, illegal Israeli colonizers injured a Palestinian child and a man in Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Local nonviolent activist, Issa Amro, said the colonizers invaded the Tal Romeida area in the city, hurled stones, and attacked several children, wounding Abed Shahin.

Amro added that the wounded child suffered minor injuries and received the needed medical treatment.

The colonizers also hurled stones at Amro and injured him while he was shielding the children from the attack.

Tal Romeida is one of many Palestinian areas in Hebron subject to repeated assaults and violations by the illegal colonizers who attack the residents, their homes, and property.

Israeli Soldiers Shoot A Child Near Ramallah

 JAN 10, 2023

On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers shot a Palestinian child with a rubber-coated steel bullet in Silwad town, east of Ramallah, in the central part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said several army vehicles invaded the western area of the town, leading to protests before the soldiers fired many rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

They added that the soldiers shot a child, 12, with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the head and caused many Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The child was rushed to a local clinic and received the needed treatment; his condition has been described as stable.

On Monday, the soldiers invaded Silwad, chased many schoolchildren while heading back home, and fired many gas bombs at them at the main junction of the town.

Silwad has been subject to repeated invasions and violations, including severe restrictions on the freedom of movement, especially after the army killed Mojahed Mahmoud Hamed, 32, on December 07, 2022.

Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians Near Jenin

 JAN 10, 2023

On Monday evening, Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians in Jilqamous village, east of Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said protests erupted after several army jeeps invaded the village before the soldiers fired many rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.

They added that the soldiers also fired gas bombs at surrounding homes, causing many Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

In related news, the soldiers installed two roadblocks at the main entrance of Um At-Tut and Deir Abu Da’if villages, southeast, and east of Jenin, and invaded the villages of Faqqu’a and Misaliya and the town of Zababda.

Israeli Soldiers Injure Many Schoolchildren Near Ramallah

 JAN 9, 2023

On Monday afternoon, Israeli soldiers injured many schoolchildren in Silwad town, east of Ramallah, in the central part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said several army vehicles invaded the town and headed towards the schools’ area just as the children were heading back home.

They added that the soldiers chased the students and fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades at them at the main junction of their town near their schools.

Medical sources said many schoolchildren suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation and received the needed treatment.

The invasion was the second in two days, and both invasions were carried out just after the students left their educational facilities and were heading home.

On Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted eleven Palestinians from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

Also Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers shot two young men after the army invaded the Aqaba town, north of Tubas, in the northeast part of the occupied West Bank, and exchanged fire with Palestinian fighters.

On Sunday evening, Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians nonviolently marching in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron.

Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians Near Hebron

 JAN 9, 2023

On Sunday evening, Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians nonviolently marching, demanding the release of corpses of slain Palestinians in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Local media activist Mohammad Awad said hundreds of Palestinians marched in the town, demanding the army to allow the transfer of the corpses of slain Palestinians back to their families.

He added that dozens of soldiers surrounded the town before invading it, stormed several stores and occupied their rooftops, and used them to fire gas bombs and concussion grenades at the protesters.

Medical sources said several Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation and received the needed treatment.

Awad said the army is still holding the corpses of several Palestinians killed by Israeli soldiers in many areas, including ‘Aahed Abdul-Rahman Ekhlayyel, 24, from Beit Ummar, who was killed by the army two years ago, on January 4, 2021, and Israel still refuses to transfer his corpse to his family for proper burial.

Israeli Navy Attacks Palestinian Fishing Boats In Northern Gaza

 JAN 8, 2023

On Sunday, Israeli navy ships fired many live rounds and wastewater mixed with chemicals at Palestinian fishing boats in northern Gaza.

Media sources said several navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats in the Al-Waha and As-Sudaniyya areas, and near Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.

They said the navy fired a barrage of live rounds and used water cannons to spray the boats with wastewater mixed with chemicals.

The attacks caused damage but did not lead to casualties and forced the fishermen to leave without being able to fish to provide for their families.

On Saturday morning, Israeli navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats near the shore of Gaza city.

Last Tuesday morning, Israeli soldiers fired many gas bombs at Palestinian farmers in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

On Monday morning, several armored Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded and bulldozed Palestinian agricultural lands in southern Gaza and fired gas bombs at farmers in northern Gaza, in the besieged coastal region.

On Thursday night, December 30th, 2022, Israeli navy ships attacked many Palestinian fishing boats near the shores of the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

On Wednesday, Israeli soldiers and the navy fired many live rounds and gas bombs at Palestinian farmers and fishermen in Khan Younis and Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday morning, the soldiers fired many rounds of live ammunition and gas bombs into Palestinian lands in southern Gaza.

Last Saturday evening, Israeli soldiers fired sporadic live rounds at Palestinian structures and homes near the perimeter fence east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Late on Saturday night, the Israeli army opened levees along the perimeter fence east of Gaza, causing accumulating heavy rainwater to flood homes and agricultural lands.

The attacks are part of constant Israeli violations against the Palestinians, especially the fishermen, farmers, shepherds, and workers in the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip, and resulted in dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to severe property damage and the confiscation of many boats after abducting the fishermen.

In March of 2021, the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza said Israeli mines were responsible for an explosion that led to the death of three fishermen.

Army Attacks Palestinians Protesting Illegal Takeover Of Their Lands, Injure Two And Abduct Two

 JAN 7, 2023

On Saturday, Israeli soldiers attacked many Palestinians protesting the illegal takeover of their lands by fanatic paramilitary Israeli colonizers who installed mobile homes, wounding two and abducting two others south of Hebron in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Rateb Jabour, the coordinator of the Popular and National Committees Against the Annexation Wall & Colonies in southern Hebron, said paramilitary colonizers brought four mobile homes and occupied ten Dunams of Palestinian lands in the Zweidin area near Yatta town, south of Hebron.

Jabour stated that the Palestinians were protesting the illegal takeover of their lands before Israeli soldiers fired many concussion grenades and gas bombs at them, wounding two in the legs before the medics rushed them to a hospital in Hebron.

The Palestinian medics also treated many Palestinians who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Furthermore, the soldiers assaulted several Palestinians and abducted Hasan Sweilem Al-Basayta and Abdul-Rahman Al-Basayta.

Jabour said the colonizers have been trying to illegally annex more Palestinian lands in the eastern area of Yatta, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, which would also lead to the isolated and eventual annexation of more than 2000 Dunams.

In related news, the colonizers cut at least 40 olive trees in Immatain village, owned by Fathi Mahmoud Suwwan and Fahmi Ahmad Suwwan, in Immatain village, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia.

Israeli Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians, Abduct Four, Near Hebron

 JAN 7, 2023

On Friday night, Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians and abducted four in the Al-Arroub refugee camp and Masafer Yatta, near Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said several army jeeps invaded the Al-Arroub refugee camp north of Hebron, leading to protests before the soldiers fired many rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades at the protesters and surrounding home.

They added that many Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation before receiving treatment.

In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, the soldiers abducted four Palestinians, Mohammad Yasser Taha, Sharif Dandees, Ala Maswada, and Hamza Abu Turki.

The army claimed the Palestinians entered a “closed military zone,” which is an area of illegally confiscated Palestinian lands.

Israeli Army Injures Many Palestinians In Kufur Qaddoum

 JAN 6, 2023

On Friday, Israeli soldiers attacked the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum town, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, and injured several Palestinians, including women and children.

Media spokesperson Morad Eshteiwi said the Palestinians marched in the town while chanting for ongoing resistance until liberation and independence.

He added that the protesters also celebrated the release of Karim Younis, a member of the Central Committee of the Fated movement, after being imprisoned by Israel for forty years.

The soldiers attacked the procession, leading to protests before the army fired a barrage of rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot two Palestinians with rubber-coated steel bullets and caused dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation, especially since many gas bombs were fired at homes.

The soldiers tried to advance into the town several times, but the many protesters hurled stones and paint at their vehicles before the army fired many live rounds and left the area.

Last Friday, the soldiers injured many Palestinians, including three journalists, during the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Two weeks ago, the soldiers attacked the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum and injured many Palestinians, including two journalists.

The Palestinians have been holding weekly processions in Kufur Qaddoum for the last eighteen years, demanding the army to reopen the village’s main road that the soldiers blockaded to allow easy access to the illegal colonizers driving to and from Kedumim illegal colony built on stolen Palestinian lands.

Soldiers Injure Several Palestinians Near Nablus

 JAN 6, 2023

On Friday, Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians during the weekly procession in Beit Dajan, east of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinians were holding their weekly nonviolent procession against the illegal Israeli colonist activities on their lands and chanting for ongoing struggle until liberation and independence.

The army attacked the protesters with rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the soldiers shot one Palestinian with a gas bomb in the leg and caused dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Last week, the soldiers injured many Palestinians during the weekly procession against the illegal colonies in Beita and Beit Dajan towns near Nablus.

The Palestinians have been holding ongoing processions on their lands in Sbeih Mountain in Beita and in Beit Dajan after a group of illegal Israeli colonizers installed an outpost atop the Mountain.

The soldiers injured thousands of Palestinians during these protests and killed several others, including children.

The Mountain, owned by the Palestinians, has significant strategic importance, especially since if the colonizers occupied it, the colony would lead to the annexation of 20 Dunams of Palestinian lands and would also lead to the isolation of a large area of Palestinian lands.

Soldiers Attack The Funeral Of A Palestinian Woman In Hebron

 JAN 3, 2023

On Monday evening, Israeli occupation soldiers attacked the funeral procession of an elderly Palestinian woman in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said the Palestinians were participating in the funeral procession of Faeqa Abu Ayyash before the soldiers closed the town’s main entrance gate to prevent them from reaching the graveyard.

They added that the soldiers fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades to force the Palestinians to leave the area, leading to protests.

The army then fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs, causing many Palestinian to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The soldiers also invaded and searched homes in the area before occupying their rooftops to use as firing posts and monitoring towers.

Also on Monday evening, Israeli soldiers shot eleven Palestinians and abducted a father and his son in Beit Rima town, northwest of Ramallah, in the central part of the occupied West Bank.

Earlier Monday, the soldiers abducted two children from the Dyouk Al-Foqa village north of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank.

On Monday dawn, dozens of armored Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded Kafr Dan town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin,  demolished the homes of two slain Palestinians, killed two young men, and injured at least eight others, one seriously.

Furthermore, the soldiers abducted eighteen Palestinians, including the brother of a detainee who died from medical neglect in Israeli prisons, from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

The army also abducted two children from the Dyouk Al-Foqa village, north of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank.

On Monday evening, Israeli soldiers shot eleven Palestinians and abducted a father and his son in Beit Rima town, northwest of Ramallah, in the central part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said undercover soldiers infiltrated the town to abduct a young man before a large military force invaded the town, leading to protests.

They added that the soldiers fired a barrage of live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot seven Palestinians with live rounds; one in the shoulder, one in the thigh, and five in the lower extremities.

The army also abducted Samer Barghouthi and his son Bassel from their home after the soldiers invaded and ransacked the property.

Also Monday, the soldiers abducted two children from the Dyouk Al-Foqa village north of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank.

On Monday dawn, dozens of armored Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded Kafr Dan town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin,  demolished the homes of two slain Palestinians, killed two young men, and injured at least eight others, one seriously.

Furthermore, the soldiers abducted eighteen Palestinians, including the brother of a detainee who died from medical neglect in Israeli prisons, from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

The army also abducted two children from the Dyouk Al-Foqa village, north of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct 21 Palestinians, Including Siblings, In West Bank

On Wednesday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded and violently searched dozens of homes across the occupied West Bank and abducted twenty-one Palestinians, including siblings.

In occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded Beit Duqqu village northwest of the city, searched homes, and abducted Karim Mohammad Marar, Mo’in Fadel Marar, and Ja’far Thaer Rayyan.

The soldiers also invaded Sur Baher town, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, and assaulted and injured two young men, who remained unidentified, before abducting him.

Also, many army jeeps invaded the Deheishe refugee camp south of Bethlehem city, searched homes, and abducted Assef Da’amsa, 29.

The soldiers also abducted Mohammad Fawzi Sajdi, 48, from Al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, and Riyad Emad Al-Badan, 22, from Tuqu’ town, east of the city, after storming their homes and ransacking them.

In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, the soldiers invaded Ni’lin town, west of the city, and abducted two teenage boys, Mohammad Bilal Al-Khawaja and Mohammad Shokri Al-Khawaja, from their families homes.

In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded Fahma village, south of the city, before the soldiers stormed and ransacked homes and abducted Hasan Yousef Mara’ba, 42.

The soldiers also invaded the home of Mohammad Jarir Sa’abna, detained and interrogated him for two hours before releasing him.

Furthermore, the army invaded many areas around several villages and towns in Jenin and closed intersections.

In Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers invaded and violently searched dozens of homes in the city and several other parts of the governorate and abducted ten Palestinians, including four siblings.

The soldiers abducted Moayyad Taleb Makhamra, Omar Khaled Makhamra, from Yatta town, Midhat Nader Al-Hawarin, and his brother, Moath, and Zeid Atiya Al-Hawarin, from Ath-Thaheriyya town, south of Hebron.

The soldiers also abducted Nour Al-Qadi from Surif town, northwest of Hebron, Wijdan Rezeq Al-Masalma, Bilal Khader Al-Masalma, and his brother Zakariyya, from Beit Awwa, west of Hebron, and Mohammad Tawfiq Abu Turki from Hadab al-Fawwar village, southwest of Hebron.

Furthermore, the army installed many military roadblocks on Hebron’s northern streets and the entrances of Sa’ir, Doura, and Halhoul towns, near Hebron, stopped and searched dozens of cars, and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

In related news, Israeli soldiers shot and seriously injured a young Palestinian man, Ahmad Abu Jneid, a journalist student, in Balata refugee camp, east of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Israeli Army Abducts Fifteen Palestinians In West Bank

On Tuesday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted fifteen Palestinians from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

In Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded Tuqu’ town and abducted two schoolchildren, Mohammad Salman Abu Mfareh and Ahmad Salam Nuwwara.

The two children, both in the tenth grade, were heading to their school when the soldiers abducted them.

In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded Ya’bad town, south of the city, searched homes, and abducted Sharaf Mohammad Abu Bakr, Firas Hamza Herzallah, Abed Bassam Atatra, and Mohammad Riyad Abu ‘Aabed.

In Nablus, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded a construction site near the Academic University in Rafidia and abducted a worker, identified as Wasim Adnan Esteytiyya.

The soldiers repeatedly assaulted the young man and dragged him to one of their vehicles before taking him away.

In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, the soldiers invaded Beit Rima town, north of the city, and abducted Moqeem Hosni Barghouthi, 21, from his home.

In Hebron, in the southern West Bank, the soldiers stormed and ransacked many homes in Beit Ummar town, north of the city, and abducted seven Palestinians, including six former political prisoners and one previously shot by the army.

The abducted Palestinians are Karim Ibrahim Abu Mariya, 25, Hamdi Mohammad Abu Mariya, 24, his brother Abdullah, 22, Mohammad Wahid Abu Mariya, 21, Mohammad Salim Al-Hindi, 22, Mohammad Wahid Ekhlayyil, 16, and Mohsin Mohammad Za’aqwwq, 23, who the soldiers previously shot.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct Eleven Palestinians In West Bank

On Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted eleven Palestinians from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

In occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded the Al-Isawiya town, searched homes, and abducted four Palestinians, one of them have been identified as Abdullah Obeid.

One of the Palestinians was ambushed and kidnapped by undercover Israeli soldiers driving a civilian car in Al-Isawiya.

The officers fired several live rounds at the car and assaulted the young man before kidnapping him, the Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan (Silwanic) has reported.

In Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, the soldiers abducted a young man, Ayham Halabiyya, from his home and summoned Mohammad Rabea’ for interrogation.

In Tulkarem, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded the Shweika suburb, searched homes, and abducted Siddeeq Abu Shaham, 17, from his home.

In Nablus, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded and searched several homes and abducted two former political prisoners, Mohannad Tabanja and Zeid Al-Kharraz, from a residential building in the Khallet Al-‘Amoud area.

Also in the northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Eyas Bassam Razmak from his home in Hableh village, south of Qalqilia.

In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, the soldiers invaded Jifna town, north of the city, and abducted Mustafa Jom’a Sabah from his home.

In Bethlehem, the soldiers invaded Tuqu town, southeast of the city, leading to protests, and fired many rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

In related news, the soldiers invaded the Zababda town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, before storming and ransacking the home of Khattab Sharqawi.

The soldiers invaded the property to abduct Khattab, but he wasn’t there, so they interrogated the family while ransacking the property.

During the invasion of Zababa, Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire with Israeli soldiers in several parts of the town.

The soldiers also invaded Sir village, south of Jenin, searched many searched homes and lands, and interrogated a few Palestinians.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct Eleven Palestinians in West Bank

Earlier Thursday, Israeli soldiers abducted eleven Palestinians, including former political prisoners, fathers, and their sons, from several parts of the occupied West Bank, including the occupied capital, Jerusalem.

In the southern part of the West Bank in Hebron, the soldiers stormed and searched homes before abducting Luay Rateb Bheiss, 26, and Ashraf Hasan Al-Awawda, from their homes in Yatta town and Karma village, south of Hebron.

In Tubas, in the northeastern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Ahmad Saleh Al-Yaseedi, a member of the Revolutionary Council of Fateh Movement, from his home in Wadi Al-Far’a, south of Tubas. The army ransacked Ahmad’s home and the homes of Ahmad and Firas Janajara.

In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, the soldiers abducted Samer Mustafa Barghouthi and his son Bassel from their home in Beit Rima town, northwest of the city, in addition to Qussai Qatash and Mohammad Ammar from their homes in Yabrud village, east of Ramallah.

In occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers abducted former political prisoner Yousef Khatib, the head of the Popular Committee in the Qalandia refugee camp, north of the city, after invading and searching his home.

During the invasions and searches of homes in the refugee camp, the soldiers also abducted former political prisoner Raed Mteir and his son Samed.

The soldiers also invaded Sur Baher town, south of Jerusalem, searched homes, and abducted Issa Ali Attoun, the brother of Mohammad, who was abducted by the army two weeks ago.

In the Old City, the soldiers abducted a young man after stopping and assaulting him near Bab Hutta, one of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Gates.

In Silwan town, south of Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded the homes of Adnan Al-Karaki and Khaled Az-Zeer and summoned them for interrogation.

In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Ahmad Mahmoud Abahra from his home in the Eastern Neighborhood of the city.

The soldiers also invaded several villages and towns near Jenin, including Beit Qad and Faqqu’a.

On Thursday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, killed a child, Amer Abu Zeitoun, 16, after shooting him in the head, and injured three Palestinians, one seriously.

Israeli Army Abducts Eighteen Palestinians In West Bank

On Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted eighteen Palestinians, including the brother of a detainee who died from medical neglect in Israeli prisons, from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources in Nablus, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers stormed and ransacked several homes in the city and abducted Mojahed Mabrouka from the Northern Mountain, Omar Ash-Shami from the Al-Makhfiyya area, and Ameed Teryaqi from the Al-Etihad area, in the city.

The soldiers also abducted a young man, Karam Mansour, while crossing the Za’tara military roadblock south of Nablus.

In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, the soldiers invaded and ransacked many homes in the Al-Am’ari refugee camp and abducted two former political prisoners, Fadi Atiya and Rami Ghazi Eid.

The soldiers also abducted Jihad Abu Hmeid, the brother of Nasser Abu Humeid, 50, who died at an Israeli medical center, on December 20, 2022, from cancer that went untreated professionally during his many years of imprisonment by Israel.

In Turmus Ayya town, north of Ramallah searched a few homes and abducted Mo’ath Jabara.

In Salfit, in the central West Bank, the soldiers abducted Mohammad Omar Abdul-Razeq, from his home in the city, and Yahia Harb, from his home in Iskaka village, east of the city.

Also Monday dawn, the soldiers abducted eight Palestinians, six from Bethlehem, including four construction workers and two from Hebron.

Media sources said the soldiers invaded and searched many homes in Bethlehem city, south of occupied Jerusalem, before abducting Mohammad Ahmad Abed-Rabbo and former political prisoner Mohammad As’ad Faraj, in their twenties.

The sources added that the soldiers invaded Za’tara town, east of Bethlehem, and abducted four construction workers heading to their work, identified as Qussai Raed Maharma, Sanad Ahmad Eeda, Mohammad Jamil Zawahra, and Mo’men Ismael Mheisin.

In Hebron city, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers abducted Nour Abu Aisha, 35, from his home, in addition to Mohammad Abdul-Mo’ti Ghatasha, 21, from the Al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of the city.

Furthermore, the soldiers killed two Palestinians, injured eight, and abducted at least one in Kafr Dan town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

Army Demolishes A Rental Villa, Commerical Structures, Near Jericho

On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers invaded the Dyouk At-Tahta village north of Jericho in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank and demolished a rental Villa and several commercial structures.

Media sources said several army vehicles invaded the village and demolished a rental villa owned by a Palestinian from occupied Jerusalem, identified as Mohammad Al-Faqeeh.

They added that the soldiers also handed a demolition order targeting a 130 square meter home owned by Jamal Younis Fheidat on his privately owned land and was built fifteen years ago.

Two years ago, the army demolished several warehouses pwned by Mikhled Abdul-Karim Njoum in the same area.

Also, the soldiers demolished a Palestinian home in Kafr Ed-Deek town, west of Salfit, in the central West Bank.

In related news, the soldiers invaded Anata town, northeast of the occupied capital Jerusalem, in the West Bank, and demolished four structures and several retaining walls.

Army Demolishes A Palestinian Home Near Salfit

On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers demolished a Palestinian home in Kafr Ed-Deek town, west of Salfit, in the central West Bank.

Media sources said several army vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded the town and surrounded the home of Ibrahim Mohammad Naji and surrounding areas.

They added that the soldiers stormed the property, forced Ibrahim and his family out, and demolished it for being built without a permit from the so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of the illegal Israeli occupation.

The soldiers also detained a young man, Husam Mezher, and released him after conducting the demolition.

The soldiers fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades at Palestinians who gathered there.

In related news, the soldiers invaded Anata town, northeast of the occupied capital Jerusalem, in the West Bank, and demolished four structures and several retaining walls.

Israeli Soldiers Demolish Four Structures, Several Walls, Near Jerusalem

On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers invaded Anata town, northeast of the occupied capital Jerusalem, in the West Bank, and demolished four structures and several retaining walls.

Taha No’man Refa’ey, the Mayor of Anata, said several Israeli military vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded the town during the morning hours and demolished several buildings near the illegal Annexation Wall.

He stated that the soldiers also demolished several stone retaining walls built over seventy years ago and added that Palestinians from the local Salam family own the demolished structures and walls.

The soldiers also destroyed a container filled with car tires on land rented from the Palestinian Ministry of Waqf and Endowment.

In addition, the soldiers demolished a wall built in the location where the construction of a school was planned on land owned by Arafat Khalil near the illegal Annexation Wall.

Furthermore, the army demolished a wall surrounding two Dunams of Palestinian land owned by Ahmad Mohammad Al-Karshan.

The Mayor warned that the constant Israeli violations and demolitions, especially the destruction of retaining walls that prevent rainfall from flooding streets and buildings, would lead to further devastation and destruction.

WAFA: “Israel orders demolition of five homes, three wells in Masafer Yatta”

HEBRON, Sunday, January 8, 2023 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation authorities notified Palestinians today of their intention to demolish five homes and three water wells in the Masafer Yatta region, south of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Rateb Jabour, a local Palestinian anti-occupation activist, told WAFA that an Israeli army force raided the village of Al-Jawaya in Masafe Yatta and handed five local residents notifications informing them of a military order to demolish their homes, which shelter their families, including children and women.

The occupation authorities also ordered the demolition of three wells belonging to a local Palestinian resident.

The latest demolition orders come amid fears that the new far-right Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which includes racist figures known for their animosity toward the Palestinians, such as Itamar Ben-Gvir, could push for more and more demolitions of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, especially in Masafer Yatta.

On May 4, the Israeli High Court gave the Israeli army the green light to demolish and displace over 1000 Palestinians living in some eight communities in Masafer Yatta in order to turn the area into a training and a firing zone.

The decision promoted strong local and international condemnation and warning of serious consequences if carried out.

Israeli Army Demolishes Tents And Barns, Abduct Palestinian, Near Nablus

On Thursday, Israeli soldiers invaded Douma town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, demolished several residential tents and barns of local shepherds, and injured a local council member.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in the northern West Bank, said the soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers, invaded the eastern area of Douma town and demolished eight tents and barns.

Daghlas said a local man, Mahmoud Mleihat, owns the demolished structures and added that the demolition of the tents led to the displacement of 25 Palestinians, mainly children.

He also said that the soldiers abducted Tha’er Fathi Dawabsha, a member of the Douma Town Council, and took him to a military base near Nablus.

On Thursday, Israeli soldiers abducted a Palestinian child in Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli Army Demolishes A Palestinian Home in Silwan, Jerusalem

On Wednesday morning, Israeli soldiers invaded Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, and demolished a Palestinian home.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan (Silwanic) said a large military and police force, accompanied by two bulldozers, invaded the town and demolished an under-construction 200 square meter home.

The Israeli police said the home was built without a permit from the City Council in occupied Jerusalem.

Mohammad Ahmad Al-A’war, the homeowner, said he was building his property on his land to shelter his ten family members.

Mohammad said the destruction of his property was carried out despite the ongoing deliberations in an Israeli court after he filed an appeal against the demolition order.

While Israel continues to build and expand its illegal colonies, Palestinian communities, and towns, in occupied Jerusalem, and various areas in the occupied West Bank, continue to be denied the right to build homes and property under various allegations meant to prevent the expansion of Palestinian towns and neighborhoods.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”

Israeli Soldiers Demolish Five Palestinian Homes In Hebron

Updated: On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers demolished five Palestinian homes in Yatta town, south of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Rateb Jabour, the coordinator of the National and Popular Committees, said several army vehicles, including two bulldozers, invaded the Ma’in community in Yatta town before storming a home and forcing the family out.

Jabour added that the soldiers demolished the 170 square meter home owned by Hamad Issa Mohammad and sheltered him and his family.

The soldiers also invaded the Shu’ab Al-Batim area in Masafer Yatta and demolished four homes, each about 80 square meters.

Younis Ahmad Jabarin, Khaled Khalil Jabarin, Mohammad Ahmad Jabrin, and Othman Mohammad Jabarin own the homes, Jabour said.

Furthermore, Jabour confirmed that the demolitions are the fourth in the last two years.

Another Palestinian, Raed Badawi Mohammad, said his lawyer managed to halt the demolition of his home after filing an appeal with an Israeli court.

Israel is planning to demolish many homes and structures in the area and to occupy more Palestinian lands in Yatta and Masafer Yatta, to build and expand its illegal colonies, built in violation of International Law.

The new Israeli government, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, plans to evict and displace eight out of twenty-eight Palestinian villages in Masafer Yatta to benefit the illegal colonies.

In May of 2022, the Israeli High Court approved the displacement of the eight villages in Masafer Yatta for “being in an area the army uses for live-fire training.”

The twenty-eight communities in Masafer Yatta sit on about 30.000 Dunams of Palestinian lands; however, Israel wants to displace and remove them to build its illegal colonies.

Twenty-three years earlier, the Israeli occupation army presented a plan to displace and remove the Palestinians from twelve communities in Masafer Yatta, to use the lands as training grounds after alleging the lands were not inhabited before 1980; however, the families predate the illegal Israeli occupation.

Jerusalemite Palestinian Family Forced To Demolish Its Home

On Saturday, the illegal Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian family to demolish its home in the Wadi Al-Jouz area in the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Mustafa Aramin said that, about a year earlier, he and his brother received a demolition order for their two-story home for being built without a permit.

He added that the family filed appeals with Israeli courts to save their property, but their applications were denied.

“Last week, the authorities informed us that we either demolish our property by this coming Sunday or face fines that exceed 90.000 shekels,” Mustafa stated, “We had no other option but to demolish our property to avoid the extra fines and fees we would face, and now nine family members are homeless.”

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said that, in the year 2022, the Israeli occupation demolished 1058 buildings, including 353 homes and 705 various types of structures, including 93 incidents where the Palestinians were forced to demolish their homes, including 88 in Jerusalem.

It added that %29 of the demolition was in Jerusalem, including 128 homes and 176 various types of structures.

The Israeli home demolition policy is a flagrant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 for the Protection of civilian persons in times of war and article 17 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, issued in 1948.

Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states, “No protected person may be punished for an offense they have not personally committed. Collective penalties and, likewise, all measures of intimidation or terrorism are prohibited. Pillage is prohibited. Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited.”

This happens while Israel continues to build and expand its illegal, segregated colonies in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, in direct violation of International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and various United Nations and Security Council resolutions.

Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”

On its webpage, the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) stated that in 2021, ICAHD analysis revealed that 937 structures were demolished and 1,119 people displaced in the OPT, with a further 12,658 people directly affected. In addition, 3004 structures were demolished in the Negev/Naqab – 431 homes and 2553 agriculture and livelihood structures.

Three Palestinians, including 2 children, were killed, noting that the 2 children were killed within 24 hours.  Meanwhile, 31 other Palestinians, including 5 children, a journalist and a paramedic, were injured, and dozens of others suffocated in Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) attacks in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.

On 02 January 2023, IOF killed 2 Palestinians, including a child namely Fo’ad Mahmoud ‘Abed (17), and injured 6 others during IOF’s incursion into Kafr Dan village in Jenin. Before withdrawing, IOF arrested a Palestinian and demolished 2 houses as part of their collective punishment policy. (Details available in PCHR’s press release)

 On 03 January 2023, IOF killed Adam ‘Issam ‘Ayyad (15) after being shot with a live bullet in his chest while another child sustained wounds by IOF fire during clashes that accompanied their incursion into al-Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem.  (Details available in this press release)

Meanwhile, those injured were victims of IOF excessive use of force and shooting during their incursions into the Palestinian cities and villages, or IOF suppression of peaceful protests organized by Palestinian civilians, and they were as follows:

On 30 December 2022, 7 Palestinians were injured, including a journalist and a child, with rubber-coated bullets during IOF’s suppression of Kafr Qaddoum weekly peaceful protest in northern Qalqilya.

On the same day, 5 Palestinians, including a paramedic in serious condition, were injured by IOF fire during the latter’s incursion into Nablus’s Old City. Before withdrawing, IOF arrested a child claiming he was wanted.

On 31 December 2022, a 22-year-old Palestinian was injured with a rubber bullet in his foot during IOF’s suppression of Kafr Qaddoum weekly peaceful protest in northern Qallqiliya.

On 02 January 2023, 11 Palestinians, including 3 children, were wounded: 7 with live bullets and 4 with rubber-coated bullets during IOF’s incursion into Beit Rima village in Ramallah.  Before withdrawing, IOF arrested a Palestinian after assaulting his family and searching their house.

On 03 January 2023, 7 Palestinians, including suffocation of 4 children, after they house was burnt when IOF fired 4 teargas canisters in clashes that accompanied their incursion into Abu Dis village in occupied East Jerusalem.  Fadi Abu ‘Awwad, the house owner, said that his house was completely burnt and he could difficultly rescue his wife and children and leave from the house.  His 4-month-old baby girl severely suffocated due to teargas inhalation.

In the Gaza Strip, 8 shootings were reported on agricultural lands in eastern Khan Yuni and northern Gaza Strip, but  no casualties were reported.

Land razing, demolitions, and notices

IOF demolished 8 houses, displacing 8 families of 50, including 8 women and 22 children.  Meanwhile, they demolished 2 civilian facilities and confiscated a tent used as a classroom as well as an excavator in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Details are as follows:

On 31 December 2022, IOF forced 2 Palestinians to self-demolish their two residential buildings of 2 floors built on an area of 140 sqms in al-Joz Valley neighborhood in East Jerusalem under the pretext of unlicensed construction.  As a result, 2 families of 9, including 2 women and 5 children, were displaced.

On the same day, IOF forced a Palestinian to self-demolish his 100-sqm house in Silwan village, East Jerusalem, under the pretext of unlicensed construction, displacing a family of 5, including 3 children.

On 03 January 2023, IOF confiscated a tent built of shed and steel by the villagers on the rubble of Safi School that was destroyed by IOF on 23 November 2022 in Safi village, southern Hebron.  It should be noted that 22 female and male students used to study in that school.

On the same day, IOF demolished four 60-sqm dwellings after vacating their contents in Sha’ab al-Batem village, southern Hebron, under the pretext of unlicensed construction in Area C. As a result, 4 families of 30, including 10 children, were displaced.  On 22 March 2022, IOF demolished dwellings for the same persons under the same pretext and they were rebuilt and funded by ACTED Foundation after 2 months of their demolition; however, IOF re-demolished them.

Moreover, IOF demolished a 170-sqm under-construction house and a 150-cbm water well in Ma’in village, southern Hebron, under the pretext of unlicensed construction in Area C. It should be noted that a family of 6, including 4 children, was supposed to live in that house.

On 04 January 2023, IOF demolished a livestock barrack of 70 sqms in al-Khader village in Bethlehem under the pretext of unlicensed construction.  IOF also demolished an under-construction house of 160 sqms in Silwan village in East Jerusalem.

On the same day, IOF confiscated an excavator for Ad-Dahiriya Municipality, southern Hebron, and arrested mayor Bahjat Jabarin and Nayef Makharzah, a municipal council member.  They were later released and notified that the excavator will be kept under IOF’s custody allegedly for working in Area C.

Settler-attacks:

Settlers carried out 5 attacks, most notably destroying 30 graves in a Christian Cemetery in East Jerusalem and assaulting shepherds and vehicles in the West Bank.

On 01 January 2023, settlers broke into Jerusalem Protestant Cemetery that is maintained by the Lutheran and Anglican Churches on Mount Zion in central East Jerusalem.  They broke crosses and destroyed headstones of 30 graves.

Hosam Na’oum, a bishop in the Anglican Church, said in a press conference on 04 January 2023 that the surveillance cameras in the cemetery showed how settlers assaulted and vandalized the cemetery as well as breaking crosses and smashing iconography.

On 02 January 2023, settlers, under IOF’s protection, assaulted and opened fire at shepherds in ‘Arab al-Maleihat area, northwest of Jericho, while herding their sheep near their houses. However, no casualties were reported.

On the same day, settlers threw stones at Palestinian vehicles while on their way out of Kafl Haris village, northern Salfit, smashing the windows of vehicles parked in the area.

On 03 January 2023, dozens of settlers gathered near al-Aqsa Mosque and organized a provocatory protest that included dances and rituals.  When the protest arrived near Hatta Gate, IOF assaulted Palestinians and arrested one of them.

On the same day, settlers threw stones at a restaurant in Kafl Haris village in Salfit, smashing the front door.

Israeli Minister’s raid into al-Aqsa Mosque:

On 03 January 2023, the Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, under IOF’s protection, raided al-Aqsa Mosque via al-Magharbah Gate in his first raid after taking office.  During the raid, IOF prevented Muslim worshipers from entering al-Aqsa Mosque.

Before the dawn, large forces of Israeli soldiers stationed around the Old City and at al-Aqsa gates and turned the alleys and streets into a military barrack.  They also imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers into al-Aqsa Mosque, including banning entry of men under 50 years old.

Collective Punishment:

On 02 January 2023, IOF demolished 2 houses as part of their collective punishment policy against the families of Palestinians who are allegedly accused of carrying out attacks against IOF or settlers. (Details available here)

On 03 January 2023, IOF raided 2 houses belonging to Islam Harbi al-Faroukh (26) family in Ramallah and Kafr ‘Aqab in East Jerusalem.  They took the houses’ measurements preluding to demolish them as part of their collective punishment policy.

IOF announced in a statement that their forces took measurements of the 2 houses to review the possibility of their demolition based on decisions will be taken.  IOF allegedly accused al-Faroukh of bombing attacks in Jerusalem on 23 November 2022 that killed 2 Israelis and wounded 2 others.

IOF incursions and arrests of Palestinian civilians:

IOF carried out 161 incursions into the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem. Those incursions included raids and searches of civilian houses and facilities and establishment of checkpoints. During those incursions, 72 Palestinians were arrested, including 9 children. In the Gaza Strip, on 02 January 2023, IOF conducted a limited incursion into eastern al-Fokhari, east of Khan Younis.

Israeli closure and restrictions on freedom of movement:

Israeli occupation maintains its illegal and inhuman 15-year closure on the Gaza Strip. Details are available in PCHR’s monthly-update in the Gaza crossings.

In the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, IOF continues to impose restrictions on the freedom of movement. On top of its 110 permanent checkpoints, IOF established 87 temporary military checkpoints in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and arrested a Palestinian at those checkpoints.

During this week, IOF closed Qalendia, Jab’a, and al-Za’eem checkpoints in East Jerusalem several times to the vehicles and later reopened them. Also, on 31 December 2022, IOF closed the detector gate at Beit Jala village, western

PCHR: “Collective Punishment Policy: Two Palestinians, Including Child, Killed by Israeli Occupation Forces Fire During Two House Demolitions in Jenin”

Today at dawn, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed two Palestinians, including a child, and wounded six others during IOF’s incursion into Kafr Dan village in Jenin, north of the West Bank, where they demolished two houses as part of their collective punishment policy against families of Palestinians allegedly accused of carrying out attacks against IOF or settlers.

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 22:30 on Sunday, 01 January 2023, IOF accompanied by a bulldozer, special forces, and Combat Engineering experts, moved into Kafr Dan village, northwest of Jenin.

They surrounded two houses belonging to the families of Ahmed Ayman ‘Abed and ‘Abed al-Rahmen Hani ‘Abed, who IOF killed after allegedly carrying out a shooting at the al-Jalama military checkpoint that killed an Israeli officer on 14 September 2022. IOF also forced the two houses’ residents to leave, and 10 other families living in nearby houses to evacuate amid IOF’s firing of teargas canisters and stun grenades to entice fear among residents and prevent them from approaching. As a result, Palestinians gathered near the two houses and threw stones at IOF, who were deployed around.

Afterwards, violent clashes broke out in the village, where IOF fired live and rubber coated bullets, stun grenades and teargas canisters to disperse the stone-throwers.  As a result, six Palestinians, including two children, were injured; one of the children was identified as Foad Mahmoud Ahmed ‘Abed (17), from Kafr Dan village, who was shot with a live bullet in his abdomen and right thigh. ‘Abed was taken in critical condition to Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, where he was pronounced dead at around 02:30 on Monday.

At the beginning of IOF’s incursion into the village, an exchange of fire occurred with members of Palestinian armed groups, wounding Mohammed Samer Hasan Hoshiyeh (22), from Al-Yamun village, with a live bullet in his chest. At dawn, Hoshieh succumbed to his serious injury.

Before their withdrawal, IOF arrested Maher Hani Subhi ‘Abed (18), and destroyed the second floor by planting explosives in Ahmed ‘Abed’s house.  Also, the first floor was almost completely destroyed. Meanwhile, IOF completely destroyed Hani ‘Abed’s house, rendering 3 families of 17 homeless.

PCHR condemns IOF’s ongoing escalation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt) and commission of more murders against Palestinians. Also, PCHR denounces the ongoing house demolitions as part of IOF’s collective punishment policy under cover of the Israeli judiciary, in blatant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits reprisals against protected persons and their property.
