3 Palestinians Killed, Scores Injured and Abducted, Homes Demolished by Israeli Occupation Soldiers, More Attacks by Illegal Settlers

January 25, 2022

Editor's Note:

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Kill A Palestinian Man Near Jerusalem

 MEMC, JAN 25, 2022

Israeli occupation soldiers killed, on Monday evening, a Palestinian man from Qalandia refugee camp, north of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Medical sources said the soldiers invaded the refugee camp and fired a barrage of gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinians who protested the invasion, in addition to a clinic, and many surrounding homes.

The Israeli occupation soldiers also invaded and ransacked several homes and shops in the area, causing damage.

They added that a man, identified as Fahmi Abdul-Rauf Hamad, 57, suffered the severe effects of tear gas inhalation while inside a clinic run by UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) along with many other patients who also were injured by the gas bombs.

The sources stated that Palestinian medics tried to resuscitate the injured man and rushed him to a hospital in Ramallah, but he succumbed to his wounds.

One of his relatives said the man had various preexisting medical conditions, including kidney failure and diabetes, and added that many patients in the clinic also suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

He stated that Fahmi frequently heads to the clinic for medical treatment, and constantly undergoes dialysis.

Hundreds of residents marched in the funeral procession of the slain man while chanting against the escalating Israeli crimes and violations.

In related news, the soldiers placed mobile homes in the location of the evacuated Homesh illegal colony, near Silat ath-Thaher town, south of Jenin, in the northern part of the West Bank.

The soldiers also assaulted and injured a former political prisoner, identified as Islam Nidal Hamarna, from Ya’bad town, west of Jenin.

In addition, several illegal Israeli colonizers injured a Palestinian teen near the town of Huwwara, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. The soldiers also abducted a young man at the roadblock.

On January 17th, a Palestinian man, identified as Faleh Mousa Jaradat, 39, was killed by Israeli soldiers at the Etzion Junction, south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank after the army claimed he attempted a stabbing attack against the soldiers.

Also on January 17th, Sheikh Suleiman al-Hathalin, 75, died from serious wounds he suffered on January 5th, 2022, after an Israeli tow truck ran him over in the Um al-Khair area of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.

On January 12th, an elderly Palestinian American man, Omar Abul-Majid As’ad, 80, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded a village north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, before detaining and constantly assaulting him in an under-construction building.

On January 6th, the soldiers killed Bakeer Mohammad Hashash, 21, near Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Israel Occupation Regime Fails to Investigate Suspicious Death of Prominent Palestinian, Sheikh Sulayman Al-Hathlin

 MEMC, JAN 20, 2022

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the Israeli occupation regime for failing to investigate the death of 75-year old Shaikh Sulayman Al-Hathlin in what appeared to be a vehicular ramming attack by an Israeli settler two weeks before.

The well-known and well-loved Muslim religious leader was hit by a car and seriously injured on January 5th in Khirbet Umm al-Khair, east of Yatta town, south of Hebron. He died from his wounds on January 17th, and thousands of Palestinians attended his funeral.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the fact that despite two weeks having passed since the vehicular assault, the Israeli authorities have failed to interview any of the numerous eyewitnesses who were present at the scene and have come forward offering to testify as to what they saw. In addition, the Israeli authorities failed to collect the numerous videos that documented the crime from security cameras near where he was killed, as it was a populated area with several cameras.

The Ministry stated that the behavior of the Israeli government reflects the extent of the spread of racism and fascism in the Israeli occupation government in its decision-making bodies against the Palestinian people and their identity.

It stated, “If the perpetrator of the run-over operation was a Palestinian or if his vehicle veered in any direction as a result of a traffic accident, the occupation soldiers and police would rush, as they often do in these situations, to shoot with the aim of killing the Palestinian involved, even if he clearly did not pose any significant danger to the occupation soldiers. In every case where a Palestinian is even suspected of ramming an Israeli with a vehicle, the Israeli military government that rules all aspects of life in the West Bank deploys soldiers and officers on the roads and their intersections. The military then sends soldiers to military roadblocks, towers, and iron gates erected and at the entrances to Palestinian cities, villages, towns and camps, further punishing and harassing Palestinians”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms this official Israeli behavior and considered it an explicit recognition by the occupying power of its racism and perpetration in committing more crimes and encouraging the killing of more Palestinians. The Ministry said this shows the resounding failure of the allegations of Israeli leaders claiming that the Israeli occupation army is somehow moral. On the contrary, they stated, the failure to investigate the settler who ran over Sheikh Al-Hathalin is a crime in itself for which international law must hold Israel accountable.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the UN Security Council, the Secretary-General of the United Nations and international and international officials to take action in the wake of the occupation’s racism and its abhorrent discriminatory measures against Palestinian civilians. They added that the  judiciary in Israel is an integral part of the occupation system itself.

Sheikh al-Hathlin was known as someone who always believed in the unity of the people and the land. The family was displaced from ‘Arad town in Be’er Saba in 1948, and moved to Umm al-Khair, near Yatta in Hebron. They were refugees with no land until his father was able to buy land in the village in 1965. However, Israel illegally annexed Palestinian lands, including part of Suleiman’s land, and built the illegal Karmiel colony in the year 1980, and has since been expanding it by further theft of land.

After the colony was built on the stolen lands, the Palestinians were denied the right to build homes in the area, an issue that forced them to live in tin houses and tents that have been demolished more than fifteen times.

The Israeli occupation army previously demolished Suleiman’s home, after alleging it was close to Carmiel colony which was built on stolen Palestinian lands.

Throughout his life, Sheikh al-Hathlin devoted himself to Palestinian unity and steadfast, non-violent resistance to the Israeli military occupation and theft of Palestinian land. He never associated himself with any one political party or faction, and called for unity among the Palestinian people.

Palestinian civil society groups and legislators joined the call for an investigation of the suspicious killing of Sheikh al-Hathlin.

On January 12, Israeli soldiers killed an elderly man, identified as Omar Abul-Majid As’ad, 80, after detaining and constantly assaulting him in an under-construction building in Jaljulia village, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, before detaining and constantly assaulting.

Media sources said the soldiers invaded a home owned by the local Karama family and attacked several family members before forcing them to start removing their furniture and belongings.

The sources added that the Israeli army is claiming the home did not receive a permit from the City Council.

While Israel continues to build and expand its illegal colonies, Palestinian communities, and towns, in occupied Jerusalem, and various areas in the occupied West Bank, continue to be denied the right to build homes and property.

Meanwhile, Israeli colonizers continue to occupy Palestinian lands, in addition to the escalating assault, including uprooting and bulldozing the Palestinian farmlands and the constant destruction of their property.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Israeli Occupation Army Demolishes Al-Arakib For 197th Time

 MEMC, JAN 25, 2022

The Israeli occupation regime army demolished, Tuesday, the Bedouin Palestinian village of al-Arakib in the Negev for the 197th time since the year 2000, and displaced its residents, leaving them in the cold.

Media sources said many army jeeps and police vehicles invaded the village, and demolished it, after forcing the residents out of their dwellings.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first demolition since the beginning of this year, as the soldiers demolished it last on December 20, 2021, for the fourteenth consecutive time that year alone.

Every time the village is demolished, the locals rebuild it using wood, tin, and plastic sheets to shelter themselves from the summer heat and the cold winter.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli police recently started interrogating many residents of the village, in addition to the already pending cases in Israeli courts, especially since Israel does not recognize the village which predates it and does not recognize the Palestinian ownership of the lands.

The village was destroyed 197 times since the year 2000, in addition to ongoing violations such as uprooting and bulldozing crops and preventing the families from raising livestock.

The village is inhabited by twenty-two families of about eight hundred people, who depend on livestock and agriculture as their only sources of livelihood.

In the 1970s, the residents managed to prove ownership of only 1250 Dunams of thousands of Dunams the Palestinians own in the area.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli autohides started lately massive invasions and abductions of the residents, in addition to bulldozing Palestinian lands, including the destruction and bulldozing in Sa’wa village in the Negev, nearly two weeks ago.

Moreover, many Palestinian cities and towns in historic Palestine have been facing increasing violations, especially the refusal to grant them construction permits to build homes, industrial workshops, and stores even though they are citizens of Israel and are supposed to be granted equal rights.

The violations are taking place in various areas, especially in Ein Mahil, Haffa, Shefa-Amr, Qalansawe, Kafr Yasif, Ar’ara, Um al-Fahem, Jaffa, Lod, Hurfeish, and Sakhnin, in addition to many communities in the Negev.

The Bedouin communities in the Negev, especially those designated as “unrecognized villages” although they predate Israel, are subject to frequent demolitions of homes, tents, and structures, including barns, land confiscation, the uprooting and bulldozing of farmlands, along with various other violations.

Israeli Occupation Regime To Demolish Four Palestinian Homes Near Nablus

 MEMC, JAN 25, 2022

Israeli occupation soldiers invaded, Monday, the town of Rojeeb east of the northern West Bank city of Nablus and handed demolition orders targeting four homes.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said many army jeeps invaded the Khallet ar-Raje’ area in Rojeeb after surrounding it.

He added that the soldiers handed Samer Ajjouri, Rafe’ Odeili, Zakariyya Issa, and Azzam al-Kharraz, military orders for the demolition of their homes.

The homes were licensed by the Local Council in Rojeeb, however, the army claims they didn’t receive permits from the so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of the illegal Israeli occupation.

While the Israeli occupation  continues to build and expand its illegal settlements, Palestinian communities, and towns, in occupied Jerusalem, and various areas in the occupied West Bank, continue to be denied the right to build homes and property.

Israel has been issuing dozens of demolition orders against existing Palestinian homes and property, including under-construction structures, and has already demolished many of them.

Israeli Occupation Regime Court Denies Appeal For Rebuilding Demolished Salhiyya Home In Jerusalem

 MEMC, JAN 24, 2022

On Sunday, the Israeli occupation regime District Court in occupied Jerusalem denied an appeal filed by the Salhiyya Palestinian family to rebuild their historic home that was demolished by the army several days ago.

Walid Abu Taha, the attorney who represents the Salhiyya family in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, said Israel is trying to confiscate the land where the home once stood to build an illegal colony.

Abu Taha added that, in its ruling, the court said it is denying the appeal because the demolition has already been carried out.

The lawyer also said that he intends to file an appeal with the Israeli High Court because the Salhiyya family never received a demolition order for its home, and therefore, should be allowed to return to its land and rebuild the property.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers demolished two homes owned by the Salhiyya family, including a historic home that predated Israel itself as it was built before the year 1948.

The homes were demolished on Wednesday at dawn, and the soldiers also abducted 27 Palestinians, including six members of the Salhiyya family.

The demolitions of the homes aim at creating a link between the illegal Israeli colonies in the area, including the French Hill, in addition to the current construction of colonialist units in the area.

Sheikh Jarrah remains the target of dangerously escalating Israeli policies aiming at demolishing homes and removing at least 75 Palestinian families from their homes in the neighborhood, to replace them with illegal colonialist settlers.

A group of illegal Israeli settlers bulldozed, on Sunday morning, Palestinian lands in the Fqeiqis area in Doura city, southwest of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Resident Walid Abu Sharar said the colonizers came from the nearby Nagihot illegal colony, which was built on stolen Palestinian lands, including lands owned by his family.

He added that the colonizers bulldozed and uprooted the lands, owned by his family in the eastern area of the illegal colony, in addition to lands in the western area owned by the families of Nasr and Awlad Mohammad.

The illegal Nagihot settlements was established on stolen Palestinian lands in the 1980s.
