2 Palestinians Killed, Scores Injured, Scores Abducted, Homes Demolished by Israeli Occupation Regime Soldiers

August 22, 2022

Editor's Note:

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Israeli Occupation Regime Halts Construction Of School Near Hebron

 IMEMC, AUG 22, 2022

The Israeli occupation army handed, Sunday, an order halting the construction of a Palestinian school in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, the Um Qissa School said on its official Facebook page that the Israeli occupation authorities denied an appeal for permitting the small school, which serves children from the Bedouin community.

Fuad al-Amour, the coordinator of the Protections and Steadfastness Committees, said the orders are the prefix for a demolition order within the coming few days, adding that the order is part of the escalating violations against the Palestinians, their homes, lands, educational facilities, and holy sites.

He denounced Israel’s ongoing destruction of Palestinian infrastructure, schools, educational and health facilities as part of its constant attempts to build and expand its colonies, built in direct violation of International Law.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.

Media sources said the Palestinians marched on their lands while chanting against the Israeli violations, including the illegal annexation of their lands, and carried Palestinian flags before the soldiers attacked them with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot one Palestinian with a rubber-coated steel bullet, caused burns to another Palestinian after targeting him with a gas bomb, and caused 37 to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation in Beit Dajan, east of Nablus.

The sources added that the soldiers shot one Palestinian with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the abdomen and caused five to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation in Beita, south of Nablus.

The Palestinians have been holding ongoing processions on their lands in Sbeih Mountain in Beita, and in Beit Dajan, since May of last year after a group of illegal Israeli colonizers installed an outpost atop the Mountain.

The occupation soldiers injured thousands of Palestinians during these protests and killed several others, including children.

The Mountain, owned by the Palestinians, has significant strategic importance, especially since if the colonizers occupied it, the colony would lead to the annexation of 20 Dunams of Palestinian lands and would also lead to the isolation of a large area of Palestinian lands.

 IMEMC, AUG 20, 2022

On Friday, Israeli occupation soldiers shot a young Palestinian man and caused many to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation during protests that erupted after the army invaded the Bab az-Zawiya area in the center of Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The occupation soldiers attacked the procession with rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades and tried to ambush and abduct some protesters.

The Palestinians have been holding weekly processions in Kufur Qaddoum for the last eighteen years, demanding the army to reopen the village’s main road the soldiers blockaded to allow easy access to the illegal colonizers driving to and from Kedumim illegal colony built on stolen Palestinian lands.

Medical sources said the soldiers invaded Tubas and attacked protesters with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades, shooting Salah in the head while he was leaving a mosque in the city following dawn prayers.

  IMEMC, AUG 18, 2022

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, August 17, 2022 (WAFA) –

Four Palestinian detainees in Israel are currently on hunger strike in protest against their prolonged detention in the prisons of the Israeli occupation regime, without charge or trial, including one who has been on hunger strike for 158 days, two siblings, and a 64-year-old man, the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said.

Khalil Awawda, 40, has been on hunger strike for 158 days today in protest against his administrative detention.

He is reported to be in critical health condition and kept at an Israeli hospital. He appealed his detention to the Israeli military court, which rejected it.

Awawda, from the town of Doura in the south of the West Bank, suspended his first hunger strike after 111 days of fast after he was promised to be released.

However, when Israel reneged on its decision and renewed his administrative detention for four more months, he resumed his hunger strike.

The siblings Ahmad Hussein Mousa, 44, and Odal, 34, have also been on hunger strike for the 11th day in protest against their administrative detention.  They are from Al-Khader town near Bethlehem.

Yousef al-Baz, 64, an Israeli citizen and the Imam of a mosque imam from the Arab town of Lydda (Lod), is also on hunger strike for the seventh day in a row in protest against his arbitrary detention. He was abducted on April 30.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Kill One Palestinian, Injure 36, In Nablus

Earlier On Thursday dawn, the Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that Israeli occupation soldiers killed a young Palestinian man and injured at least 36 others, including three who suffered life-threatening wounds, in Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Ahmad Jibril, the spokesperson of the Nablus office of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said the soldiers killed Wasim Nasser Abu Khalifa, 18, from Balata refugee camp, after shooting him with two live rounds in the upper chest, including one to the heart.

The medics rushed Wasim to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, but he succumbed to his serious wounds despite all efforts to save his life.

Jibril added that the soldiers also shot three young men with live round in the chest, neck area and the abdomen, causing life-threatening wounds, in addition to one who was shot with a high-velocity gas bomb to the chest, and were all rushed to local hospitals, and 27 who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation who received treatment by PRCS medics.

Most of the Palestinians who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation are children, including infants, who were injured while in their homes due to the intensity of the Israeli fire.

The Israeli invasions targeted many areas in Nablus, including the main invasion into Joseph’s Tomb area, Amman Street, Balata refugee camp and many surrounding communities.

Palestinian resistance fighters also exchange fire with the soldiers invading the Joseph Tomb area, Amman Street, in addition to Askar and Balata refugee camp.

Ibrahim Milhem, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Government, denounced the killing of the Palestinian teen in Nablus, and the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people across occupied Palestine, and denounced the international silence and complicity, and those who justify the Israeli crimes.

The Palestinian Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the killing of the young man and said the attack was “part of Israel’s ongoing crimes and field executions carried out against the Palestinian people, under direct orders from its military and the political leaderships.”

It called on the United Nations to act and provide the Palestinian people with urgently needed international protection and vowed to submit another complaint to the International Criminal Court.

The Ministry called on the International Community to end its idleness and silence and to act on holding Israel accountable for its ongoing illegal occupation and its escalating crimes.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians In Nablus Published on: Aug 17, 2022 at 23:13

On Wednesday evening, Israeli occupation soldiers injured many Palestinians east of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said dozens of the Israeli occupation regime soldiers in many armored vehicles and troop carriers accompanied several buses transporting illegal colonizers into Joseph’s Tomb area in the eastern part of the city, leading to protests.

They added that the army fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs, causing dozens of Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The invasions and protests mainly took place in the Amman Street area near Askar and Balata refugee camps.

It is worth mentioning that the army frequently invades the eastern area of Nablus to accompany the colonists into the historic site, an issue that leads to protests, in addition to the ongoing invasions of homes and the abduction of many Palestinians.

Joseph the patriarch is revered by Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Samaritans alike, however, the Israeli military allows Jews to visit as part of organized pilgrimages, despite the site being in Area A where the PA has full control and prohibits Muslims from worshiping at the site.

Ultra-orthodox and nationalist Jews regularly try to visit the shrine without approval, as many Jews believe the tomb to be the final resting place of the biblical figure in the Old Testament.

Palestinians believe that Joseph’s Tomb is the funerary monument to Sheikh Yousif Dweikat, a local religious figure.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct 23 Palestinians in Pre-Dawn Raids

  IMEMC, AUG 17, 2022

In the early morning hours on Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces conducted their daily raids of West Bank towns and villages, aimed in part at keeping the Palestinians living under the Israeli military occupation in a state of terror and uncertainty.

Local sources reported that in Ya’bad, south of Jenin, Palestinian youth who emerged from their homes to defend their village from the invading army by throwing stones were met by an onslaught of tear gas, which entered the windows of homes where families were sleeping and caused dozens of people to require treatment for tear gas inhalation. The invading Israeli soldiers also fired sound grenades, provoking terror among the families in the neighborhood.

Israeli occupation forces abducted 11 Palestinians from the town of Ya’bad, southwest of Jenin in the northern West Bank. They have been identified as Majd Abdel Rahman Ba’jawi, Muhammad Issa Ba’jawi, Amir Kamel Atatreh, Ali Ba’jawi, Hadi Bilal Zaid al-Kilani, Naseem Muhammad Saeed Qabha, Nassim Muhannad Amarneh, Muhammad Maher Abu Bakr and Nizar Hamrasha, Ahmed Ezz El-Din Amarneh, and Jaafar Youssef Abadi.

In addition to abducting these men, the invading Israeli troops also ransacked and searched their homes.

The Israeli occupation army also carried out a campaign of home abductions in the town of Tuqu’, east of Bethlehem, abducting 22 Palestinians. The abducted Palestinians were identified as: two brothers Suleiman Khaled al-Amour (25 years) and Ahmad (23 years old), Sufian Odallah al-Amour (25 years), two brothers Mohammad Imad al-Amour (29 years) and Khalil (26 years), and Baraa Raed al-Amour (25 years), and the two brothers Anas Adel Al-Amour (30 years), Mohammad (31 years), Mahmoud Ali Al-Amour (24 years), Mahmoud Deeb Al-Amour (19 years), Moamen Ratib Al-Amour (21 years), Talal Issa Al-Amour (47 years), and his son Sanad (18 years), Mohammad Riyad Al-Amour (21 years), brothers Baha Khaled Al-Badan (24 years) and Hussein (22 years), Khalil Daoud Abu Mufreh (30 years), Wajdi Samer Al-Badan (17 years), Riyad Imad Al-Badan (22 years), and Ibrahim Fouad Al-Sabah (25 years), Mohammad Suleiman Al-Shaer (23 years), and Musa Muhammad Al-Amour (22 years).

In Beit Sira, Israeli forces abducted two former political prisoners, Hamza Awad from Kobar, and Ali Munir Hamdan from Beit Sira, after the soldiers raided and searched their homes.

From Nablus, Israeli occupation forces abducted Walid Abu Lail from Rafidia neighborhood, and the former prisoner Othman Al Khalili from Al-Dahiya neighborhood in the city.

From Tulkarem, Israeli forces abducted one young man, Mohammad Sareeh Hassan Mahamid (38 years), from the suburb of Iktaba, east of the city, after they raided and searched his house.

Israeli forces conduct pre-dawn raids throughout the West Bank on a daily basis, in direct violation of international law and Israel’s obligations as an occupying military force under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Israeli military forces have occupied the West Bank, Gaza Strip, the city of Jerusalem and the Golan Heights since 1967 and forced the indigenous population of these areas to live under martial law since that time. This is the longest-standing military occupation on earth, and is in direct violation of international law.

Israel Occupation Forces Two Families To Demolish Their Homes In Occupied Jerusalem

  IMEMC, AUG 17, 2022

On Wednesday, the Israeli occupation authorities forced two Palestinian families to demolish their homes in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Media sources said members of the Shweiki family in the ath-Thoury neighborhood in Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, were forced to demolish their home despite appeals, and fines imposed on the family.

The Israeli occupation army also forced Mahmoud Abu Rayya to demolish sections of his home in the Sharafat neighborhood of Jerusalem, just as he obtained a ruling delaying the demolition for three months until he concludes his appeals.

Israeli’s policy of home demolitions, including self-demolition, is an illegal act of collective punishment that violated International Law.

While Israel continues to build and expand its illegal colonies, Palestinian communities and towns, in occupied Jerusalem, and various areas in the occupied West Bank, continue to be denied the right to build homes and property.

The Israeli occupation regime has been issuing dozens of demolition orders against existing Palestinian homes and property, including under-construction structures, and has already demolished many of them.

In related news, the soldiers invaded Georga Habash Square west of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, and installed a roadblock, before stopping and searching dozens of cars, and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

PCHR Condemns and Demands International Community to Intervene Promptly after Israeli Occupation Forces Shut Down 7 CSOs in Ramallah

  IMEMC, AUG 18, 2022

The Palestinian Center For Human Rights (PCHR)

On Thursday dawn, 18 August 2022, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) raided and closed 7 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Ramallah and confiscated some of their contents.

The decision came few hours after the announcement of Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, 3 CSOs: the Bisan Center for Research and Development, the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees (UPWC), and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association as “terrorist organizations”, for allegedly funding the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

The decision was made after an appeal submitted by these organizations against a previous decision issued last October labeling 6 CSOs as terrorist organization was rejected.

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), Today at dawn, large number of IOF moved into Ramallah and Al-Bireh, where they raided 7 CSOs and human rights organizations and confiscated most of their contents.

Afterwards, they welded shut with locks and iron bars and affixed a military order issued by the military commander to the doors, stating “necessary for region’s security, to counter terrorism infrastructure, in all its parts, vehicles, organizations and bodies, and to thwart acts of terrorism and strike the terrorism infrastructure, I am ordering to close this place”.

As a result, none of those working in these organizations was able to see the extent of sabotage there, or what was confiscated.

The organizations closed are as follows: the Bisan Center for Research and Development, the Union of Palestinian Women Committees (UPWC), Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, Al-Haq, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, and the Union of Health Work Committees (UHWC).

PCHR stresses that the closure is part of IOF’s systematic policy to polish off the Palestinian civil society and undermine its role in supporting the Palestinian resilience under the occupation.

PCHR hereby emphasizes that any assault on the civil society organizations constitutes a flagrant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and violates the Israeli occupation authorities’ obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which guarantees the right to freedom of association in Article 22.

PCHR emphasizes that IOF adopts a systematic policy to tighten the screws on the Palestinian CSOs that has started since the 2001 Durban Conference against Racism in South Africa and escalated after the State of Palestine had acceded to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2015.

These restrictions included the prosecution of human rights activists, and limiting their travel and movement, raiding and shutting down leading organizations in the fields of human rights and services.

PCHR stresses that IOF’s pursuit, designation of Palestinian NGOs as “terrorist”, and smear campaign against them aims at closing down these organizations and drying up external donor funding; thus, having only one narrative and hiding the truth about IOF crimes committed in the oPt.

PCHR stresses that such practices are part of an old/new campaign against the CSOs and human rights organizations because of its pioneering role in exposing IOF’s violations and its international work, particularly at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

PCHR indicates that such practices come at a time IOF’s violations against Palestinian civilians at the height as the Palestinian CSOs countered the silence about these violations with exposing IOF’s crimes and unprecedented fierce campaign against the Palestinian people during the past 20 years.

For more than 6 months, those violations escalated and included outgrowing settlement expansion, seizing Palestinians’ lands, building settlement roads, constructing the annexation wall, ethnic cleansing and creating Jewish majority in occupied East Jerusalem and assaulting holy sites.

PCHR affirms that CSOs are the last resort to protect the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and to defend civilian victims from the Israeli violations. These organizations will never and even refuse to be a good victim for the occupation.

CSOs are fully aware of their role and duty and will not surrender or get caught up in defending their existence, because they exist for a noble, legal, national, and humanitarian mission, which is to defend the Palestinians’ dignity, rights and rule of law.

It is worth noting that the Israeli authorities’ decision to classify 6 CSOs as terrorist organizations was broadly and internationally condemned, specifically by the United Nations bodies, Special Rapporteurs, and the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Also, 10 European Union (EU) Member States rejected the Israeli decision, considering it was based on unfounded accusations and affirmed in a joint statement that they will continue to work with these organization, and that having a free and strong civil society is indispensable to promote the democratic values.

PCHR stresses the Palestinian authority (PA)’s role in protecting the civil society and its organizations, especially as these organizations legally operate in the West Bank and its offices located in Palestinian Authority-controlled areas.

PCHR also calls on the EU and the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention to take immediate action in order to compel Israel to abolish the decision to close the CSOs and stop all violations against them.
