Supporting economic recovery, Indosat Ooredoo presents 'Kampung Digital' in Surakarta Jakarta Post, October 5, 2021
Supporting economic recovery, Indosat Ooredoo presents ‘Kampung Digital’ in Surakarta . Jakarta Post, Tue, October 5, 2021 Following the success of the launch of 5G in Surakarta, Central Java, leading digital telecommunications company Indosat Ooredoo continues its partnership with the local administration by presenting the “Kampung Digital” program to support the city’s economic recovery. The program demonstrates Indosat Ooredoo’s commitment to continually supporting the digital transformation of Surakarta city, enabling the community to connect with local government through trusted information channels, real-time, and supporting two-way communication. Indosat Ooredoo’s recent move was aligned with the central government’s policy of accelerating economic recovery through digital transformation by building partnerships with different parties. In realizing the Kampung Digital vision, Indosat Ooredoo has installed hundreds of encrypted smart screens, including high-speed modems and data quotas for one year, in neighborhood (RT) posts and village halls. According to the company, the source of information uses the centralized Smart Information System (SI Pintar), in which the Surakarta city administration carries out the management and supervision. The digital information system is integrated into many aspects of the needs of the urban community, such as social, economic, cultural arts, information, and city government policies. The inauguration of the Kampung Digital program coincided with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on economic recovery by Indosat Ooredoo director and chief operating officer Vikram Sinha and with Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, at the Tawang Arum Hall, the Surakarta mayor's office. The event was carried out while implementing strict health protocols to reduce the spread of COVID19. "We are very happy to support the digital transformation of Solo as a continuation of our 5G launch earlier this year. We believe that this sustainable partnership will result in Solo’s economic recovery,” Vikram Sinha said, referring to the city by its alternative name. He went on to say, “This would not have been possible without the support and commitment of the mayor who always strives to increase the potential of the community by utilizing digital technology. Today marks an important date for our collaboration with the Surakarta city administration through Kampung Digital as a step forward toward a digital society.” “We hope that these initiatives will accelerate the economic recovery, that will most definitely maximize the potential of Surakarta citizens and government,” he said. According to Indosat Ooredoo, the implementation of SI Pintar will use an information-centralization scheme originating from the city administration’s Kominfo smart information hub. Information content that can be tailored to various needs in videos, images, text or websites will be transmitted through a cloud-based system. According to the company, the information will be received simultaneously on the smart TV screen at the community gathering point, and its performance can be monitored as an evaluation and analysis effort through a cloud-based smart information hub. Indosat Ooredoo's internet connection fully supports the entire scheme for delivering information content. The Kampung Digital program continues Indosat Ooredoo's support for economic recovery for the city of Surakarta, with previously presented 5G technology arts, and cultural festivals, empowering MSMEs through Rasa Solo, and supporting the acceleration of the vaccine program for the elderly. The company said that furthermore, along with the signing of the MoU,
Indosat Ooredoo would provide support in the form of digital talent
education through the Local Content Creator Camp and IDCamp AR Class
programs and Digital Transformation Training for State Civil Apparatus
(ASN) and Go Digital SMEs. Meanwhile, Surakarta Mayor Gibran said, "Indosat
Ooredoo's commitment to the city of Solo does not stop here. Previously
with the launch of 5G, and today through the launch of Kampung Digital.
There will be more programs such as Collabonation and Augmented Reality,
which will be accelerated in 2022." Fair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
