Israeli Occupation Apartheid Regime Continues Oppression of the Palestinian People, with More Injuries, Abductions, and Demolitions

June 28, 2021

Editor's Note:

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Illegal Israeli Settlers Cut Trees, Steal Water Pump, Wires, Near Nablus

IMEMC, JUN 28, 2021

Illegal Israeli settlers uprooted, on Sunday at night, many Palestinian trees, in addition to stealing a water pump and electric wires, in Jaloud village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, said the Israeli assailants came from the illegal Ahiya colony, which was built on stolen Palestinian lands.

Daghlas added that the colonists cut several olive trees and grapevines, in addition to stealing a water pump and electric wires around a barn, owned by Hashem Ahmad Hamoud.

It is worth mentioning that the area is subject to constant Israeli violations, especially attacks carried out by the colonialist settlers who frequently target the Palestinians, their homes, and their lands.

 IMEMC, JUN 28, 2021

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, on Monday at dawn, eleven Palestinians, including two siblings, from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank, including the occupied capital, Jerusalem.

Media sources said the soldiers invaded and ransacked many homes in Beit Hanina town, north of Jerusalem, before abducting four Palestinians identified as Bahjat Mohammad Mas’oud, Karim Jamal Abu Ta’a, in addition to Ahmad Yousef Gheith and his brother Salama.

They added that the soldiers also invaded Silwan town, in Jerusalem, before storming and searching several shops in the Ein al-Louza neighborhood.

In Ramallah, in central West Bank, the soldiers invaded the Sateh Marhaba neighborhood in al-Biereh city and abducted Sufian Miqdadi, from his home.

Also in Ramallah, the soldiers invaded the al-Jalazoun refugee camp, before storming and searching homes and abducted Firas Khamis Haridi.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians in Beita

 IMEMC, JUN 28, 2021

Israeli occupation soldiers injured, on Sunday at night, four young men and caused scores to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, in Sbeih Mountain in Beita town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Nablus, said two Palestinians suffered lacerations and bruises after falling while the soldiers were chasing them.

Jibril added that two Palestinians were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets and dozens suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

It is worth mentioning that Beita witnesses daily protests, especially in (Abu) Sbeih Mountain, since illegal colonialist settlers installed, two months ago, an outpost on its top, which was dubbed as “Givat Evitar.”

The Israeli army also installed earth mounds, using D-9 armored bulldozers (manufactured by the US company Caterpillar) blocking the main road to the village, as part of a larger plan to take over the village.

The Palestinians repeatedly removed the earth mounds, and the army keeps coming back to install them.

In Tubas, in northeastern West Bank, illegal Israeli colonists attacked several Palestinians, east of Tayasir village, east of Tubas, and injured three young men who suffered moderate wounds and were rushed to a hospital.

On Friday, June 11th, the soldiers killed a child, identified as Mohammad Sa’id Hamayel, 15, after shooting him with a live round in the heart, and injured more than 110 Palestinians, including 11 who were shot with live rounds, after the army attacked nonviolent protesters in Jabal Abu Sbeih mountain.

A week earlier, on June 19th, Israeli soldiers invaded Beita and destroyed $100,000 worth of vegetables in Beita by firing teargas at a vegetable storage unit.

The land in question is part of Jabal Sabih (Sabih Mountain), which is owned by Palestinian residents of Beita and surrounding villages. Israeli forces have seized a large part of the mountain in an attempted land-grab to claim the land for the Israeli state. This is even though Palestinian landowners hold deeds to the land in question and have for generations.

Israeli settlements are considered illegal under International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention and have been condemned by numerous United Nations resolutions. But Israel, with the support of the US government, continues its expansion of its territory onto Palestinian land in the West Bank (including East Jerusalem).

Two Palestinians Forced to Self Demolish Buildings in occupied Jerusalem

 IMEMC, JUN 28, 2021

Two Palestinians were forced, by the Israeli occupation apartheid regime municipality, to knock down their own buildings, in the Silwan neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center (Silwanic) reported that Muhammad Ali Siam, on Sunday, was coerced by the Israeli municipality who threaten unreasonable fines, to demolish his own warehouse.

Sunday was the last day the municipality allowed Siam to go through with the demolition or risk paying punitive fees if its crews knock the building down.

Siam added that the warehouse was built 20 years ago, and after attempts to freeze the order, the authorities ordered its demolition under the pretext that it was built without an Israeli permit.

Furthermore, a Palestinian father was forced, by the Israeli Municipality, to demolish a room which was built for his special needs child.

Hamza Abu Saloum, from Al-Thawri neighborhood in Silwan, stated that since the room was built in 2013, the Israeli municipality has imposed a total of 44,000 shekels over the years in fines for a so-called building violation.

After years of paying fines, the authorities ordered the demolition, so on Saturday, Abu Saloum demolished the room that was built for his son Gabriel, who was born with special needs.

 IMEMC, JUN 27, 2021

Israeli occupation soldiers injured, on Saturday at night, several Palestinians and abducted three Palestinians, including two women, after illegal colonialist settlers attacked the residents and wounded three, in Sheikh Jarrah Palestinian neighborhood, in the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Media sources said protests erupted in Sheikh Jarrah after illegal Israeli colonialist settlers attacked Palestinians from the Abdul-Latif family, and injured three of them before the soldiers abducted a young man, identified as Samir Khalil Abdul-Latif.

The soldiers also abducted two young women identified as Asala Abu Hasna along with her sister, Alisar, (Video by Silwanic), while they were walking towards their home. (See video by Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan (Silwanic).

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics also provided treatment to three Palestinians who were assaulted by the soldiers and moved one of them to a hospital.

Sheikh Jarrah Palestinian neighborhood continues to be subject to the constant Israeli violations, carried out by the soldiers and the illegal colonialist settlers, especially amidst the ongoing Israeli plans to remove all the Palestinians to replace them with illegal Israeli colonialist settlers.

It is worth mentioning that many Palestinian families are living in Sheikh Jarrah after they were forced out of their homes and lands during the Nakba of 1948, when Israel was established in the historic land of Palestine, after ethnically cleansing hundreds of towns and villages.

In the year 2020, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that Israeli colonialist groups filed lawsuits with Israeli courts to displace more than 218 Palestinian families (970 persons, including at least 424 children), in occupied East Jerusalem, including 75 families in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

The Israeli Supreme Court recently postponed the deliberation of appeals filed by four families in Sheikh Jarrah, while three other families are awaiting a hearing which is said to be conducted in August of this year.

 IMEMC, JUN 26, 2021

Israeli colonialist settlers burnt Friday dozens of fig and olive trees, while Israeli soldiers attacked nonviolent protesters west of Salfit, in the central West Bank.

Media sources in Nablus said the colonists invaded the ar-Ras area, where they have been constantly attempting to illegally occupy Palestinian lands and install outposts and burnt dozens of trees.

They added that Palestinian firefighters and many residents rushed to the lands and managed to extinguish the fire before it spread to more lands, especially in the areas where the Palestinians recently planted dozens of saplings.

Furthermore, dozens of Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, after the soldiers attacked nonviolent protesters who marched to their lands and orchards, threatened with the illegal annexation, especially since the colonists recently installed an outpost.

It is worth mentioning that the colonists recently installed mobile homes on the Palestinian lands, and prepared agricultural roads so that they can occupy them, and expand their outposts.

It is worth mentioning that there are 23 illegal colonies and six outposts on Palestinian lands in the Salfit governorate.

The colonists are trying to occupy the ar-Ras area and its surroundings as part of the attempts to pave new roads that would link outposts with the illegal Ariel and Burkan colonies, which were built on lands owned by the Palestinians from various villages and towns north of west of Salfit.

Furthermore, the soldiers injured, Friday, more than 400 Palestinians in Abu Sbeih Mountain, in Beita town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Euro-Med Monitor: Urgent investigation Needed into the Killing of Palestinian activist Nizar Banat

 IMEMC, JUN 25, 2021

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor expresses its deep shock at the death of the Palestinian opposition political activist Nizar Banat after his arrest and direct attack by the Palestinian security services in Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

The Euro-Med Monitor calls for the opening of a diligent, urgent, and independent investigation into the incident, especially since all the circumstances point to a deliberate process of assassination to suppress a voice heavily opposed to the policies of the Palestinian Authority.

According to Euro-Med Monitor and the Banat family report, at approximately 3:30 AM today, Thursday, June 24, 2021, a joint security force consisting of 25 members of the Palestinian Intelligence and Preventive Security Service stormed the southern area of Hebron and raided the home of the political opponent Nizar Khalil Muhammad Banat.

They severely beat him with batons while he slept and sprayed him with pepper gas, which caused him to lose consciousness. After he woke up, the security forces arrested Banat naked, assaulted him, and took him to an unknown site. At approximately 6:45 AM, Banat was transferred to Hebron Hospital, where he was declared dead because of injuries sustained during the torture and brutal beatings, amounting to a deliberate assassination.

Later, the Governor of Hebron, “Jibreen Al-Bakri,” announced the death of Nizar Banat whilst under the custody of the Palestinian security.

The Governor said in a press statement,

“Following a subpoena from the Public Prosecution to arrest the citizen Nizar Khalil Muhammad Banat, at dawn today, a force from the security services detained him, during which his health deteriorated, and immediately transferred to the Hebron Governmental Hospital. Subsequently, doctors examined him and declared the citizen dead. The Public Prosecution Office was immediately informed, which attended and proceeded to act under-recognized due process.”

Banat’s family denied the Hebron governor’s statement, stressing that Nizar was violently beaten, and accused the Palestinian security forces of murdering him.

The Euro-Med Monitor indicates that the house of the political opponent, Nizar Banat, a candidate on the “Freedom and Dignity” list in the Palestinian Legislative Council elections – postponed by a decision of the Palestinian President “Mahmoud Abbas” – was exposed to gunfire and tear gas canisters on 1 May amid preparations for the elections. Fortunately, his family survived the accident.

This attack came at the height of incitements and threats against him after the candidate sent a letter to representatives of the European Union in Palestine, declaring its intention to go to the European courts and request the cessation of financial support for the Palestinian Authority due to postponed elections.

The activist Banat was previously subjected to political arrest several times, including the initiation of politicized lawsuits against him due to his strong opposition of the Palestinian Authority’s policies and violations of the security services in the West Bank.

The Euro-Med Monitor sees a dangerous development in the level of violations practiced by the Palestinian security services, which have witnessed a remarkable escalation since the cessation of the Israeli military attack on Gaza on May 21.

Around 150 cases of arrests and summonses were recorded on the grounds of a policy related to publication and freedom of opinion and expression. Many activists were subjected to systematic torture, especially in Jericho prison.

The Euro-Med Monitor expresses its fear for the lives of some detainees because of continuous torture methods used by the authorities, including “Abdul Rahman Muhammad al-Bishtawi” who has been detained for four days at the Preventive Security Service in Nablus.

The Euro-Med Monitor stresses that these violations come in a clear context of silencing, threatening and terrorizing activists and opponents, especially after postponing the Palestinian elections. The Palestinians were looking at the elections as a gateway to democratic change and renewal of Palestinian legitimacy.

The Euro-Med Monitor indicates that dozens of activists and members of electoral campaigns have been arrested, subpoenaed or threatened by the Palestinian security services in recent weeks.

The Euro-Med Monitor condemns the killing of Nizar Banat and calls for the opening of a diligent and independent investigation, where all involved in his killing are held accountable, and release of all political detainees and prisoners of conscience.
