While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

Israeli Soldiers Injure Five Palestinians In Kufur Qaddoum, September 27, 2020	Mahmoud and Hassan Al-Za'azou', two Palestinian fishermen killed by Egyptian navy for crossing the maritime border on September 25, 2020

Egyptian Navy Releases the Bodies of Two Palestinian Fishermen, from the besieged Gaza Strip, after shooting them

The Egyptian authorities handed over, on Saturday evening, the bodies of two Palestinian fishermen, who were shot by the Egyptian navy, on Friday, in the southern besieged Gaza Strip, while a third wounded brother, remains in the custody of the Egyptian authorities.

Sources at the Rafah crossing told Jerusalem “Quds” Press, that the corpses of the two young brothers, Mahmoud and Hassan Al-Zaazoua were received at the crossing from the Egyptian authorities.

The Egyptian Navy opened fire at the fishing boat, killing two of the three brothers, and wounding the third. The Egyptian authorities took the corpses, and the injured brother into custody, confiscating their boat.

Palestinian factions criticized the Egyptian navy’s killing of the unarmed Palestinian fishermen, and appealed to the Egyptian authorities to release the youngest brother Yasser.

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) released a statement demanding that all forces refrain from shooting with the intent to kill, to comply with the principle of proportionality.

PCHR: “2 Fishermen Killed and Another Injured by Egyptian Naval Forces”

Two Fishermen Killed and Another Injured by Egyptian Naval Forces: PCHR Calls on Egyptian Authorities to Change Open-Fire Regulations on Persons Crossing the Borders and Maintain Proportional Use of Force

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) followed up with deep regret the killing of two fishermen and the injury of another after Egyptian naval forces opened fire at them. PCHR calls upon the Egyptian authorities to open an immediate investigation into the incident and announce its results to the public.

PCHR also calls for changing the rules pertaining to Gaza Strip residents, whether citizens or fishermen who cross the land or sea borders, and not to use excessive force against them. PCHR also calls for a refrain from shooting with the intent to kill, complying with the principle of proportionality in the use of force against them, especially that in the majority of incidents that occurred previously, victims did not pose any danger to the Egyptian authorities.

According to PCHR’s investigations, the three fishermen Mahmoud Mohammed Ibrahim al-Za’zou’ (20) and his two brothers Hasan (26) and Yaser (18), from Deir al-Balah city in central Gaza Strip, went fishing at approximately 07:00 on Thursday, 24 September 2020.

After they crossed the Palestinian-Egyptian maritime boundaries and entered the Egyptian regional waters; at approximately 01:00 on Friday, 25 September 2020, Egyptian gunboats opened heavy fire against them and took them to an unknown destination.

Nizar ‘Ayash, Head of the Palestinian Fishermen’s Syndicate in the Gaza Strip, declared on Saturday, 26 September 2020, the death of the two fishermen Mahmoud and Hasan Mohammed al-Za’zou’ and the injury of their third brother Yassir.

He also added that the Egyptian authorities would transfer their bodies over to the Gaza authorities at 04:00 via the Rafah Border Crossing. Nedal al-Za’zou’ (34) said to PCHR’s fieldworker that the Ministry of Interior in Gaza confirmed this information to them, without indicating the details of the incident because no information was available.

The Fishermen’s Syndicate announced a strike and closed the sea until Sunday noon, 27 September 2020, in proteststo the killing of the two fishermen and in solidarity with their family.

It is noteworthy that similar incidents have occurred previously, as fisherman Moustafa Abu-Oda (32) was killed by Egyptian naval forces; as well as Palestinian fisherman Feras Meqdad (18). Also, in December 2015, Issahac Hassan (28), a mentally ill person, was killed by the Egyptian military. 

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure Five Palestinians In Kufur Qaddoum

Israeli occupation soldiers injured, Saturday, five Palestinians with rubber-coated steel bullets, during the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum town, east of Qalqilia, in northern West Bank.

Morad Eshteiwi, the media coordinator of the Popular Committee in Kufur Qaddoum, said the soldiers fired many rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs at the protesters as they marched from the center of the town.

He added that five young men were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets; four of them received the needed treatment by local medics, and one was rushed to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital for further treatment.

On Friday, the soldiers injured seven Palestinians, including a journalist, and caused many to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, after the army attacked the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum town.

Palestinians have been holding weekly demonstrations, on Fridays and Saturdays, in Kufur Qaddoum village, since 2003, to demand the Israeli authorities reopen the village’s main road, which was closed in 2002, for the benefit of illegal settlers in nearby Israeli colonies, especially the Kedumim colony, which was built on private Palestinian lands.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians In Beit Ummar

Israeli occupation soldiers injured, on Saturday evening, many Palestinians in the ath-Thaher area, in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, after several military jeeps invaded it.

Media sources said the soldiers invaded the ath-Thaher area, near the illegal Karmie Tzur colony, which was built on stolen Palestinian lands, leading to protests, especially near the Somoud Mosque.

They added that the soldiers fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing scores of Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers frequently invaded the town, and repeatedly attack the farmers while working on their lands, to force them away. Numerous attacks are also carried out by the illegal colonialist settlers.

In related news, a group of Israeli colonists invaded the Old City of Hebron, the az-Zahed neighborhood and Ein Askar area in Hebron city, and harassed many Palestinians, while the soldiers stood and did not attempt to intervene.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Attack A Father And His Son Near Al-Aqsa Before Abducting Them

Israeli occupation soldiers attacked, late on Friday at night, a Palestinian father, and his son, near the Chain Gate (Bab al-Silsila) one of the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem, and abducted them.

Media sources said the soldiers stopped Bassem ‘Aseela and his son, Malek, 19, near the Chain Gate and assaulted them, before abducting and taking them to a nearby police station.

The abducted father and his son were heading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque when the soldiers attacked and abducted them.

On Friday evening, the soldiers abducted a young man, identified as Yousef ash-Shami, at a military roadblock near ‘Aneen village, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

Israeli Occupation Army Abducts Five Palestinians, Including Two Who Were Shot, In West Bank

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, on Thursday at dawn, at least five Palestinians from their homes, including two who were shot by the army, in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources in Jenin, in northern West Bank said the soldiers invaded Qabatia town, south of the city, and abducted a young man, identified as Farqa’ Kamil, from his home.

The soldiers also invaded Kafr Malik village, northeast of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and attacked protesters before shooting Mohammad Farouq and Jihad Fahed, causing moderate wounds, and abducted them.

In addition, the soldiers abducted Mustafa Ramahi, from his home in the al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah.

In Hebron, in southern West Bank, the soldiers abducted a former political prisoner, identified as Mohammad Hamdi Abu Mariya, from his home in Beit Ummar town, north of the city.

Israeli Occupation Army Demolishes Three Residential Tents, Five Barns, Near Bethlehem

Israeli occupation soldiers invaded, Thursday, Kisan Palestinian village, east of Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, and demolished three residential tents and five barns, after imposing a strict siege on the area.

Ahmad Ghazal, the deputy head of Kisan Village Council, said that the soldiers surrounded and isolated the Teena area, in the east of the village, preventing the Palestinians from entering or leaving it.

He added that the soldiers then demolished a barn and a tent, owned by Ahmad Obeyyat, three barns and a tent, owned by Mahmoud Ibrahim Obeyyat, a barn owned by Issa Abdullah Nazzal, and a tent owned by Salah Ahmad Obeyyat, under the pretext of not being licensed by the Israeli authorities.

Ghazal also said that the soldiers have recently escalated their violations against the village, by confiscating large areas of Palestinian lands, demolishing many tens and sheds, in addition to halting the construction of a local school.

Global Response to Israeli apartheid: A call to the UNGA from Palestinian and international Civil Society Organizations

Al-Mezan Center For Human Rights:

Apartheid is a crime against humanity, giving rise to individual criminal responsibility and State responsibility to bring the illegal situation to an end. In May 2020, a large number of Palestinian civil society organisations called on all States to adopt “effective countermeasures, including sanctions, to end Israel’s unlawful acquisition of Palestinian territory through use of force, its regime of apartheid, and its denial of our inalienable right to self-determination.”

In June 2020, 47 independent human rights experts within the United Nations (UN) stated that the Israeli government plans to illegally annex large parts of the occupied West Bank would constitute “a vision of a 21st-century apartheid.” Also in June, 114 Palestinian, regional, and international civil society organisations sent a strong message to UN Member States that now is the time to recognise and confront Israel’s establishment and maintenance of an apartheid regime over the Palestinian people as a whole, including Palestinians on both sides of the Green Line and Palestinian refugees and exiles abroad.

We further recall that, in December 2019, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) urged Israel to give full effect to Article 3 of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, which pertains to the prevention, prohibition, and eradication of all policies and practices of segregation and apartheid, on both sides of the Green Line. As recently highlighted by South Africa at the UN Human Rights Council, “The CERD found… that the strategic fragmentation of the Palestinian people formed part of a policy and practice of segregation and apartheid. Annexation would be yet another example of complete impunity that makes a mockery of this Council and would gravely breach international law.”

In light of the mounting recognition of Israel’s maintenance of an apartheid regime over the Palestinian people, which will only continue to be entrenched through annexation, we, the undersigned Palestinian, regional, and international civil society organizations, urge the UN General Assembly to take urgent and effective actions to address the root causes of Palestinian oppression and to end Israel’s occupation, illegal blockade of Gaza, unlawful acquisition of Palestinian territory by force, its regime of apartheid over the Palestinian people as a whole, and the prolonged denial of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including to self-determination and the right of Palestinian refugees and displaced persons to return to their homes, lands, and property.

In light of the above, we call on all Member States of the UN General Assembly to:

Launch international investigations into Israel’s apartheid regime over the Palestinian people as a whole, as well as associated State and individual criminal responsibility, including by reconstituting the UN Special Committee against Apartheid and the UN Centre Against Apartheid to end apartheid in the 21st century. Ban arms trade and military-security cooperation with Israel. Prohibit all trade with illegal Israeli settlements and ensure that companies refrain from and terminate business activities with Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise.
