6 Syrian Regime Militiamen Killed, 3 Injured in Clashes with Opposition Fighters December 12, 2020
Eastern Raqqa: Seven regime-backed militiamen killed and injured in explosion in Syrian desert SOHR, On Dec 12, 2020 SOHR activists say that an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in a military vehicle belonging to regime-backed militias in the Syrian desert near Ma’adan, east of Raqqa, killing four militiamen and injuring three others. This comes in light of the escalating attacks of the Islamic State in various areas in the Syrian desert. Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1,059 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 144 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Dair Ezzoar, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa. Also, four civilians working in gas fields, 11 shepherds and four other people were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 586 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period. “De-escalation zone”: Two pro-regime militiamen killed in exchange of shelling between rebels and regime forces on frontlines of Hama, Idlib and Aleppo SOHR, Dec 12, 2020 The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored, in the early hours of Saturday morning, exchange of fire between rebels and jihadist factions on the one hand, and the regime forces and loyalists on the other, on frontlines of Al-Manara and Al-Fatira, south of Idlib. Meanwhile, regime forces shelled places in Safohin, Al-Fatira, Al-Haloubi, Fleifel, Kansafra and Benin in southern Idlib countryside, while factions targeted regime forces’ positions in Ma’rat al-Numan and Al-Malaja in the same countryside. Moreover, two members of the regime forces were killed after being sniped by opposition factions on frontline of the 46th Regiment, west of Aleppo and al-Dar al-Kabira in Idlib countryside. Yesterday, Syrian Observatory activists documented the death of a regime soldier and injury of another one, after being shot by members of opposition factions on Al-Ruwayha frontline in southern Idlib. On the other hand, SOHR sources monitored exchange of fire with artillery shells and mortars between regime forces and loyalists on one hand, and opposition factions and “Al-Fateh Al-Mubin” operations room on the other, on the frontlines of Jabal Al-Zawiyah. In this context, regime forces shelled Sfuhen, Al-Faterah and Fulayfel, while the factions targeted regime positions in rural Idlib. The exchange of bombardment between regime forces and rebels coincided with clashes with heavy machineguns on frontlines of Al-Bara town and Al-Faterah village in southern Idlib. Under unknown circumstances | Body of woman found in water well in regime-controlled areas, west of Raqqa SOHR, Dec 12, 2020 SOHR sources say that the body of a woman was found after being killed and dumped inside a water well in the village of Jab al-Ghouli, which is under the control of regime forces in western countryside of Raqqa province. No information has been reported so far about the identity of the killers, while reports suggested that pro-regime militiamen were involved in the crime. Last month, SOHR activists reported that five people, including two regime officers and loyalists were injured in a landmine explosion planted by Islamic State members in Tal Salami area in eastern Hama countryside. The areas of Syrian desert in rural Hama, Homs, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor are witnessing a surge in ISIS cells’ attacks, which target regime forces and loyalists, as well as militias backed by Russia and Iran. “De-escalation zone”: Regime forces and rebels trade fire on frontlines of southern Idlib SOHR, Dec 11, 2020 Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of a regime

being shot by rebels on the frontlines of Al-Gharbiyyah city in eastern
Idlib. Ceasefire violations: Opposition factions shell regime positions in Sahl Al-Ghab, while regime rocket fire pounds towns in southern Idlib SOHR, Dec 9, 2020 Syrian Observatory activists have monitored exchange of rocket fire
between regime forces and opposition factions on frontlines of Hama and
Idlib, as regime forces shelled positions in Al-Fterah, Sfuhen, Fulayfel,
Kansafrah, the surrounding areas of Al-Bara, Bayanin in the southern
countryside of Idlib, and Al-Ankawi in Sahl Al-Ghab. Meanwhile, rebels
shelled, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, regime positions in
Beit Hassanu frontline in the north-west of Hama. No casualties have
been reported. *** Daily death toll: 45 people killed across Syria yesterday SOHR, On Dec 5, 2020 A displaced young man from Al-Raqqah city was killed after being hit
by a bullet in the head, while he was on the roof of his house near the
