4,144 Syrians Killed in 4 Months, Regime Helecopters Attack Opposition-Controlled Areas, Turkish Patrols in Western Idlib September 19, 2019 Editor's Note: The following news stories are just examples of the daily horrors of war in Syria. The following are news stories from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) website (http://www.syriahr.com/en/): *** Turkish Forces run a military patrol between their “observation” posts in Idlib and Hama countryside SOHR, 19/09/2019 The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the entry of a military patrol of the Turkish Army into the Syrian territory, through Khirbet al-Jawz border crossing in the western countryside of Idlib, the patrol consists of 4 armored vehicles and it was accompanied by other military vehicles belong to the factions, where the vehicles headed towards the Turkish point in Ishtabraq in the countryside of Jisr al-Shughur, then it continued to the Turkish point in Shir Mghar in the northern countryside of Hama, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 16th of September 2019 that Turkey continues to run patrol and send reinforcements to the gathering point of its forces in Maarhtat after raising barricades and fortifying the surroundings of the area, and in this context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that a Turkish patrol of 4 armored vehicles arrived at the gathering of the Turkish Army in Maarhtat at the southern countryside of Maarrat al-Nu’man Monday morning. The Syrian Observatory published on the 14th of September 2019 that the Turkish Forces continue entering their military columns towards their points in the Syrian north, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the entry of a Turkish military column into the Syrian territory consists of several vehicles carrying military and logistical supplies during the late hours of the night, and the column headed towards the Turkish points east of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 12th of September 2019, that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored more military reinforcements brought by the Turkish Forces towards the Syrian territory, where a military column consists of about 30 vehicles entered through Kafrluseen Border Crossing, and the column includes cars and armored vehicles carrying military and logistical equipment, accompanied by vehicles of factions close to Turkey, and they headed to the gathering of the Turkish Forces in Maarhtat village in the southeastern countryside of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 8th of September 2019 that the Turkish forces continue to push military and logistics convoys to their checkpoints deployed in the “de-escalation” area and moving between the points; after completing the fortification of their new positions and machines at Maarhtat point south of Idlib, and in this context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new Turkish column consists of 4 Armored vehicles carrying soldiers heading towards al-Sarman point east of Idlib. On the 7th of September 2019, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored fortifications and building of additional dirt barricades by the Turkish Forces; who were recently positioned in Maarhtat village in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory also monitored the establishment of guarding points in the vicinity of the houses in order to protect the new point, where the Turkish Forces have been positioned there since the regime forces took control of Khan Shaykhun in Maarhtat south of Maarrat al-Nu’man, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 5th of September 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a column of the Turkish Forces consists of several vehicles loaded with food and fuel; headed from the observation post in of Maar Hatat village in the southern countryside of Idlib and arrived in the Turkish observation post in Morek town which is controlled by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Hama, and the Syrian Observatory published today that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that 4 Turkish vehicles carrying food were eventually able to enter the Turkish “observation” point in Morek area, which is under the control of the regime forces in the northern countryside of Hama. these vehicles entered under Russian protection but the rest of the Turkish column is still at the Turkish point in Maar Hatat village, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a military column of the Turkish Forces entered Syrian territory this afternoon containing food supplies for their members in the checkpoint, which is located within Morek town in regime forces’-controlled areas in the northern countryside of Hama, where the column stopped at the Turkish observation post in Ma’ar Hatat village near the international highway of Damascus – Aleppo north of Khan Shaykhun; waiting for the approval from the regime forces who are positioned in Khan Shaykhun, in order to pass and reach the observation point located in Morek town north of Hama, in conjunction with that the Syrian Observatory monitored an intensive flight of Russian warplanes over regime forces’-controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Idlib, in conjunction with the flight of Turkish reconnaissance drone over areas at southern and western countryside of Aleppo, followed by shelling by the factions with rocket shells targeting positions of the regime forces in Qal’aat Shalf and Nahshaba area in Latakia countryside, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published. the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored rocket shelling carried out by the regime forces, targeting the villages of Jazraya and al-Osmaniyyah in the southern countryside of Aleppo and Tremla village in the southern countryside of Idlib, and in the same context, the factions targeted a vehicle of the regime forces west of Tal Al-Sayyid in the southern countryside of Idlib, where two wheel loaders were destroyed in the area but no information about casualties so far, and the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented heavy casualties in the violent clashes that took place between the rebel and Islamic factions against the regime forces and militias loyal to them, in Azaz area in the eastern countryside of Idlib after midnight of yesterday, where 2 fighters of the factions were killed and at least 6 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were killed, also the clashes left more than 15 wounded of both parties and some of them are in serious situations, which may raise the death toll, in addition to information about other casualties, and in the same context, the regime forces renewed their breaches of the calm of the “Putin – Erdogan” area, by shelling places in Kafrsajna and Arinbeh in the southern countryside of Idlib, also large Russian reconnaissance drones were seen flying in skies of Idlib countryside on Wednesday morning. The regime forces continue the escalation in “Putin – Erdogan” area and target by about 200 shells the countryside of Latakia, Idlib, and Hama SOHR, 18/09/2019 The ground shelling continues in places at the southern countryside of Idlib and other places within “Putin – Erdogan” area, where it rose to 195, the number of shells launched by the regime forces since after midnight of yesterday, where Ma’aret Hurmah town is under heavy shelling, also the shelling targeted the hill of Kabani in Latakia countryside, and in the same context, the regime forces targeted with more shells this afternoon places in Om Sir, Tremla, Maarzita, Ma’aret Hurmah, Sheikh Mustafa, and al-Naqir in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory published this morning that the regime forces renewed the rocket shelling Wednesday morning on what is left of the “de-escalation” area, where they targeted by rocket shells places in Kafr Nubl, Sheikh Mustafa, Ma’aret Hurmah, and Hish in the southern countryside of Idlib, in addition to Hwyja in Sahl al-Ghab at the northwestern countryside of Hama, while “Putin – Erdogan” area is witnessed the continued cessation of airstrikes since last Friday evening, while the factions targeted by several rocket shells places in al-Rasif village which is controlled by the regime forces in the western countryside of Hama. Barrel bombs target the area of Kabana in Latakia countryside in conjunction with the continued ground escalation within the sectors of “Putin –Erdogan” area raising to 230 shells and missiles during this day SOHR, 18/09/2019 Two helicopters took turns in bombing the hills of Kabana in the northern countryside of Latakia by barrel bombs, after the aerial bombardment had been stopped since Friday the 13th of September 2019, and in the same context, the ground shelling is still continuing on areas in the southern countryside of Idlib and other places in “Putin – Erdogan” area, where it rose to 230, the number of shells launched by the regime forces since after the midnight of Tuesday – Wednesday on Jazraya area in the southern countryside of Aleppo, and Talat Al-Syriatel and the Abandoned Battalion west of Abu Al-Duhur in the eastern countryside of Idlib, the regime forces also renewed their shelling on Maarrat Hurmah town and Kafr Sajna in the southern countryside of Idlib, while they shelled the area of Kabana by high-explosive shells, and the SOHR published today evening that the town of Maarrat Hurmah is still under violent shelling, the shelling also targeted Kabana Hill in the northern countryside of Latakia, while the regime forces targeted today afternoon by more rocket shells, places in Umm Al-Sir, Tremla, Maar Zita, Maarrat Hurma, Sheikh Mustafa and Al-Naqir in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the SOHR published today morning, that the regime forces renewed the rocket shelling Wednesday morning on what is left of the “de-escalation” area, where they targeted by rocket shells places in Kafr Nubl, Sheikh Mustafa, Ma’aret Hurmah, and Hish in the southern countryside of Idlib, in addition to Hwyja in Sahl al-Ghab at the northwestern countryside of Hama. And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 4144, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 17th of September 2019, and they are: 1064 civilians including 264 children and 189 citizen women, and they are 228 including 44 children and 43 women, and 8 of the civil defense and 5 of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 88 including 19 women and 15 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 542 including 155 children, 91 women, and 5 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 125 people including 22 women and 23 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 81 citizens including 26 children and 15 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 1673 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1088 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1407 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions. And during the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until the 17th of September 2019, and Syrian Observatory documented the death of 4669 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1347 civilians including 345 children under the age of eighteen and 253 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 107 people including 31 children under the age of eighteen and 19 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 1759 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1123 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 1563 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
