Condemnatoin of Trump Administration for its Capitulation to Netanyahu on the Illegal Israeli Settlements in Palestine November 19, 2019 Editor's Note: While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Hannan Ashrawi: “Trump Administration; A Threat To International Peace And Security” November 19, 2019 2:08 PM IMEMC News Diplomacy, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the Executive Committee of Member of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) issued a statement denouncing the illegal policies of the United States, and its grave violations of International Law, and said that the Trump Administration is a threat to international peace and security. Dr. Ashrawi stated that, although the U.S. Administration’s statements that Israel’s illegal colonies in occupied Palestine “do not violate International Law,” they are also not unexpected, but are also outrageous, dangerous and irresponsible.” She said that such policies are “irresponsible messianic fundamentalist policies are a threat to humanity as a whole!” Dr. Ashrawi’s Statement: Trump administration is a threat to international peace and security The announcement made by US Secretary of State has no legal validity. The US neither has the right nor agency to rewrite international law and deface the rules-based international order based on its perverse ideological leanings. Israeli settlements are a grave violation of international law, including international humanitarian law. They also constitute a war crime according to the Rome Statute. These are solid facts that the Trump administration cannot alter or unravel. This announcement reaffirms Palestine’s assessment that the Trump administration is a threat to international peace and security because it is a partner in Israeli crimes and provides political cover for its pervasive violations. This administration is a threat the international community must confront with consistency and moral clarity. The Palestinian leadership will continue to pursue justice and redress through all available legal and political avenues. Palestine remains solidly committed to international law and at the forefront of defending the values and principles for which it stands. It is time for responsible states to take collective action that rises to the level of threat this administration’s lawlessness presents to the world. Palestinian Officials Denounce US Decision on Settlements November 19, 2019 1:05 AM IMEMC News & Agencies Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said, today, that the announcement by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, that the Israeli settlements in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank do not violate international law, is null and void, condemned and totally contradicts with international law, resolutions of the international legitimacy that reject settlements, and Security Council resolutions, especially resolution 2334. Abu Rudeineh stressed that the US administration is not qualified or authorized to cancel the resolutions of the international legitimacy, and does not have the right to give any legitimacy to the Israeli settlements. While rejecting these statements and previous resolutions on Jerusalem, the Palestinian presidency called on world governments to reject them and condemn them because they are illegal and threaten international peace and security. The spokesman reiterated that the US administration has totally lost all credibility and no longer has any role in the peace process. “We hold the American administration fully responsible for any repercussions of this dangerous step.” WAFA further reports that Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), today, also denounced statements by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Israeli settlements, stressing that this announcement threatens the international system. “International law and system clearly define the illegality of all Israeli settlements, including by the International Court of Justice, the UN Security Council, and the International Committee of the Red Cross,” said Erekat in a statement. “Under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, Israel’s long-standing settlement policy in occupied Palestine falls within the definition of war crimes.” Erekat added: “Israeli settlements steal Palestinian land, seize and exploit Palestinian natural resources, and divide, displace and restrict the movement of the people of Palestine. In sum, Israel’s colonial-settlement enterprise perpetuates the negation of the Palestinian right to self-determination.” He stressed that, “Once again, with this announcement, the Trump administration is demonstrating the extent to which it’s threatening the international system with its unceasing attempts to replace international law with the ‘law of the jungle’.” Henceforth, he added, “the international community must take all necessary measures to respond and deter this irresponsible US behavior, which poses a threat to global stability, security, and peace. The only way towards achieving peace in Palestine, Israel, and the entire Middle East is with the freedom and independence of the State of Palestine on the 1967 border with East Jerusalem as its capital.” U.S. No Longer Considers Israeli Settlements Illegal By Felicia Schwartz, Courtney McBride Wall Street Journal, November 18, 2019 The U.S. no longer will consider Israeli settlements to be illegal under international law, officials said Monday, in a move that formalizes the Trump administration’s treatment of the (Palestinian territory of the) West Bank and shifts decades of U.S. policy. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the new policy at the State Department, drawing swift praise from Israelis and condemnation from Palestinians, European officials and rights groups who say the stance could hinder peace efforts. Mr. Pompeo’s announcement is unlikely to drastically change conditions on the ground, but enshrines a U.S. policy shift that has moved it ever closer to Israel on several questions, including the fate of Jerusalem, that have bedeviled Middle East peace negotiators for decades. The move further sours ties with Palestinians, who have said the U.S. is no longer a credible arbiter of the peace process. U.S. officials said the announcement followed a policy-review process and wasn’t meant to affect Israel’s continuing efforts to form a new government after September’s elections. But the move could be seen as a boost to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who pledged to annex (the illegal) Jewish settlements in the West Bank ahead of the elections. Mr. Netanyahu, who has close ties with President Trump, has failed to form a government so far. His opponent, Benny Gantz, has until Wednesday to do so. Mr. Netanyhau also faces possible corruption charges, and the Israeli attorney general is expected to decide whether to indict him in the coming days. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mr. Pompeo said that “the establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law” (which is not true). He said the U.S. announcement wasn’t intended to be a green light for Israel to build more settlements, adding that the U.S. government defers to the authority of Israeli courts, which have recognized 132 settlements as legal and sees the rest, called outposts, as illegal. Mr. Pompeo said the U.S. is “expressing no view on the legal status of any individual settlement.” Much of the international community, including the United Nations, considers all Israeli settlement activity to be illegal, and Palestinians cite it as a primary obstacle to peace. Acknowledging that the U.S. stance could inflame tensions in the region, the U.S. embassy issued a security alert for Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza on Monday, advising U.S. citizens traveling in the areas “to maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness in light of the current environment.” The U.S. decision came as a particularly welcome announcement for Israeli officials, after a decision last week from the European Union’s top court mandating that products made in Israeli settlements must say so on their labels when sold in EU countries. Human rights groups praised the ruling, but Israeli officials denounced it. Illegal Israeli Settlers Storm A Christian Church In Hebron November 19, 2019 10:37 AM IMEMC News A group of illegal fanatic Israeli settlers stormed, on Monday at night, the al-Maskobiyya Church, known as Abraham’s Oak Holy Trinity Monastery, in Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank. Eyewitnesses said dozens of illegal Israeli settlers, accompanied by a large military force, invaded the Christian Monastery while chanting and singing, before holding prayers in the church. The Monastery, located in the al-Jilda Street in Hebron city, in an area that falls under the complete control of the Palestinian Authority. All of Israel’s colonies in occupied Palestine, including those in and around occupied Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, and constitute war crimes. Also, Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”. Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct 25 Palestinians In The West Bank November 19, 2019 3:38 PM IMEMC News The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, on Tuesday at dawn, 25 Palestinians, including several children, and former political prisoners, in the occupied West Bank, especially in occupied East Jerusalem. The Israeli occupation soldiers invaded and ransacked dozens of homes, causing property damage, and interrogated scores of Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards. The Israeli occupation army also installed many roadblocks around the West Bank, especially in East Jerusalem, and Hebron governorate in southern West Bank, before stopping and searching dozens of cars, and interrogated the Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards. Fifteen of the abducted Palestinians were taken from their homes in the al-‘Isawiya town, in the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, and the soldiers also summoned seven others for interrogation. Israeli occupation Soldiers Demolish A Home In Occupied Jerusalem November 19, 2019 2:28 PM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers demolished, Tuesday, a Palestinian home in Jabal al-Mokabber, southeast of occupied East Jerusalem. Media sources said dozens of soldiers and police officers, accompanied by bulldozers, invaded Deir as-Sinna area in Jabal al-Mokabber, and demolished a home, owned by Fuad Gharouf, from Jericho. The sources added that the soldiers surrounded the entire area of the property, and prevented the Palestinians from entering or leaving it, before demolishing the property under the pretext of being built without a permit. Israel’s policy of home demolitions is illegal under International Law, and constitute a grave violation of various international treaties, especially since they constitute collective punishment that targets entire families. It is worth mentioning that the soldiers also demolished two homes in Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank. Israeli occupation Soldiers Demolish Two Homes In Hebron November 19, 2019 11:51 AM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers demolished, Tuesday, two Palestinian homes owned by two siblings from the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron. Resident Khaled Khanna, said dozens of soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers, invaded the refugee camp and demolished his home and the home of his brother, Nabil. He added that the demolished properties are in the al-Bass area and were 200 square/meters each. The demolition orders were issued a year ago, and the two siblings have been filing appeals with Israeli courts but to no avail. The Israeli occupation army is claiming that the two homes were not licensed by the so-called Civil Administration Office, the administrative and executive branch of Israel’s illegal military occupation of Palestine. Palestinian Killed on Sunday Identified; Family Demands Answers November 19, 2019 11:55 AM IMEMC News & Agencies The Palestinian killed by Israeli occupation police on Sunday has been identified as Fares Bassam Abu Naab. His father said that the circumstances and the position of the car completely contradict the narrative of the police, who claimed that they fired on the car during the chase. The car was not hit with any bullets, however. In addition, a cellphone video taken from an apartment above the street clearly shows the young man parking and exiting the vehicle. It then shows a heavily armed Israeli police officer running toward him, shooting him, then running back. Abu Naab’s father said that his son was forced out of the car, and then he was shot. He said that what happened is clearly an execution, and that the police claim they want to do an autopsy. The family has refused the autopsy, and the Israeli police will be taking the family to court. Abu Naab’s father also said that despite the fact he went to a number of police stations asking about his son, and was refused any information, later he was contacted by Mahash, the Israeli police investigatory unit for internal investigations. Mahash confirmed the death of the son, and asked the father to come to the station to file a complaint and to agree to an autopsy. The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan said that after the young man was killed, the Israeli police and soldiers invaded the area surrounding his home in Ras al-Moud neighborhood in Silwan, and fired gas bombs at the crowds that gathered. *** Share the link of this article with your facebook friendsFair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
