95 Syrians Killed in Russian-Regime Air Strikes on the Southern Countryside of Idlib May 27, 2019 Editor's Note: The following news stories are just examples of the daily horrors of war in Syria. The following are news stories from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) website (http://www.syriahr.com/en/): *** After the death of about 95 people and more than 440 airstrikes in the highest day in terms of tolls, warplanes of the regime and Russia begin the 28th day of the heaviest escalation with more than 115 airstrikes targeting the southern countryside of Idlib SOHR, 27/05/2019 The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of intensive and escalating aerial and ground bombardment since midnight of yesterday until the moment, where regime’s warplanes carried out more than 56 air raids, and they are: 23 on al-Hbit town, 14 on Khan Shaykhun, 13 on Ma’aret Hurmah, 6 on Sheikh Mustafa, and the helicopters dropped at least 53 barrel bombs, they are 20 on al-Hbit, 12 on Khan Shaykhun, 8 on Sheikh Mustafa, 10 on Ma’aret Hurmah, and 3 on Hish, where the shelling is concentrated on southern countryside of Idlib, especially al-Hbit; the next target for the regime forces strengthening their control in Kafr Nabudah, not to mention Khan Shaykhun and Ma’aret Hurmah, where the latter is considered the route of supply of al-Hbit which connects it to Jabal al-Zawiyah, while the Syrian Observatory learned that the factions withdrew from the points they advanced to in area Kafr Nabudah on Sunday evening, after the regime forces were able with intense air and ground support to repel it, and in the same context, the Russian warplanes carried out several airstrikes after midnight of yesterday targeting the southern countryside of Idlib, where they carried out 4 raids on Karsa’a, 2 raids on al-Naqir, and 2 raids on al-Hbit, while the regime forces intensively targeted by missiles and shells areas in the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama, and the southern countryside of Idlib since after midnight of yesterday, where they targeted using the internationally banned incendiary bombs places in Abdeen and the outskirts of Kafrsajna south of Idlib. And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 814, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until today, the 25th of May 2019, and they are: 236 civilians including 47 children and 45 citizen women, and they are 44 including 13 children and 12 women, another woman and two of her children, were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 29 including 8 women and a child girl were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 99 including 13 women, 20 children, and a member of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 42 people including 5 women and 4 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 21 citizens including 10 children and 3 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, while at least 309 of the jihadi groups were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s shelling, in addition to the killing of 269 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions. And with the fall of more casualties, the death toll rises in the heaviest continuous escalation on its 36th day, to 967 people in the period since the morning of the 20th of April 2019, until the 26th of May 2019, they are 286 civilians including 61 children and 56 women, were killed in the Russian air bombardment and regime forces’ shelling on areas in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Idlib, including 25 civilian casualties including 10 children and 4 citizen women were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions on Aleppo city, al-Hadir town south of Aleppo, al-Khandeq village, and al-Suqaylabiyah town in Hama countryside, and 19 people were killed in the explosion of a truck loaded with high-explosive materials owned by the jihadi groups in Jisr al-Shughur city west of Idlib, and 327 of the jihadi groups and the factions were killed in attacks and clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and 335 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed in attacks by the jihadi groups on several areas of the demilitarized area. And during the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today, the 25th of May 2019, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 1343 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 524 civilians including 131 children under the age of eighteen and 114 woman over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 49 people including 16 children under the age of eighteen and 9 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 395 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 237 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 424 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them. While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 1572 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 604 civilians including 162 children and 126 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 52 people including 16 children and 8 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 462 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 251 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 506 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them. *** 18 were killed on May 25, 2019, including 7 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and 11 other people 6 joined yesterday the convoy of casualties of the Syrian revolution SOHR, 26/05/2019 In Idlib Province, 4 citizens were killed, they are: a man who was killed as a result of barrel bombs dropped by helicopters on Sheikh Damis village in Idlib countryside, a child in bombardment by the regime’s warplanes on areas in Kafr Nubl in the southern countryside of Idlib, in addition to a man who was killed in raids by the regime’s warplanes on Armania village in the southern countryside of Idlib, and a man in bombardment by the regime’s warplanes on Al-Hbit town south of Idlib. And in Hama province, a man from Al-Lataminah town was killed due to bombardment by the regime’s warplanes on the town. And in Aleppo province, a man was killed in shelling by the regime forces on places in Berneh village in the southern countryside of Aleppo. Also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that “Sheikh al-Karama Forces”, who include local gunmen from al-Suwaidaa and its countryside loyal to the regime forces; executed 3 people of the same faction on Saturday, the 25th of May 2019, on charges of “assassinating one of the leaders of Sheikh al-Karama Forces” in Salkhad town earlier this month While a member of the militiamen loyal to the regime forces was killed as a result of the explosion of a landmine of the “Islamic State” organization’s remnants near Al-Tim Oilfield in Deir Ezzor countryside. Also, at least 5 of the jihadi groups and factions in Jabal Shashabo, Sahl al-Ghab, Kafr Nabudah, and other areas in the northwestern countryside of Hama, were killed in aerial and ground bombardment. While 3 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were killed in clashes against the factions and jihadi groups in Hama countryside. 42 were killed on May 24, 2019, including 14 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and 28 other people 6 joined yesterday the convoy of casualties of the Syrian revolution SOHR, 25/05/2019 In Idlib Province, 6 citizens were killed, they are: a man and his child were killed in shelling by regime’s warplanes on areas in and around Tal Msibin, a child, a girl, and a man were killed in shelling by regime’s warplanes on areas in the towns of Hass and Kafr Nubl in the southwestern countryside of Idlib, and a child was killed in shelling by the regime in areas on the outskirts of Hass town in the southwestern countryside of Idlib. 5 People were killed in mine explosions, where 4 of them were children and were killed in a landmine explosion from the remnants of ISIS in Adman area north of Deir Ezzor city, and a citizen died affected by injuries he had in a landmine explosion from the remnants of ISIS near the water purification plant in al-Shafa village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Also, at least 14 of the jihadi groups and factions in Jabal Shashabo, Sahl al-Ghab, Kafr Nabudah, and other areas in the northwestern countryside of Hama, they were killed in aerial bombardment by warplanes of the Russians and the regime. And 3 fighters of the opposition factions were killed during clashes against the local gunmen loyal to the regime within Zahra area north of Aleppo. 4 of the local gunmen loyal to the regime forces were killed in an attack by the opposition factions on Zahra area north of Aleppo city.
