The Ministry said in a press statement, “... coalition warplanes carried out two air strikes on Anbar, destructing a tunnel belongs to the IS, and killing a number of militants.” Security forces from army and police found a number of bodies, weapons and ammunition, as well as destroying a vehicle and hideouts, the statement added. In 2017, Iraqi government announced regaining its entire territory from the IS grip, backed by the US-led international coalition. However, the group still has dormant cells in different areas of the country. Turkish troops penetrate 30 Km into Iraqi territory by Loaa Adel Jun 3, 2019, 1:00 pm (IraqiNews)-- A Peshmerga Commander said, on Monday, that Turkish troops had penetrated 30 kilometers into the Iraqi territory, while indicated that seven areas in northern Iraq witnessed Turkish air raids and ground operations. Al-Araby newspaper quoted Lt. Col. Dilshad Zebari as saying that the areas of Sidkan, Souran, Khawakurk, Benkurd, Qandil mountain, in addition to the outskirts of Emadiyah and Zakho have witnessed several Turkish air and ground operations. Also, occasional artillery shelling was carried out on these areas, he added. Ground Turkish troops penetrated 30 kilometers into the Iraqi territory and launched offensives against prominent members of the PKK. Furthermore, Zebari explained that the areas that witnessed Turkish operations does not have any Peshmerga or Asayish members. The operations involved a number of helicopters and fighter jets, and are accompanied by artillery shelling, he mentioned. These operations are one of the largest Turkish operations in northern Iraq since the winter of 2018, Zebari said. So far, the process is clean, because it did not cause any civilian deaths, despite the existence of material losses. Four Iraqi servicemen killed, wounded in clashes with IS militants in Anbar by Mohammed Ebraheem Jun 2, 2019, 1:23 pm Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – Four Iraqi army personnel were killed and wounded Sunday in clashes with members of the Islamic State militant group in Anbar province, a security source was quoted as saying. “An army force clashed with militants of the Islamic State group in al-Husainiyat area, northeast of Ar-Rutbah, leaving an army officer killed and three others wounded,” the source told Alsumaria News. The source added that the gun battle left heavy causalities among IS ranks as well. A security force rushed to the site and carried the wounded into a nearby hospital for treatment, while the body was moved to the forensic medicine department, he pointed out. Iraq declared the collapse of Islamic State’s territorial influence in Iraq in November 2017 with the recapture of Rawa, a city on Anbar’s western borders with Syria, which was the group’s last bastion in Iraq. Falcons Cell kills 6 IS militants west of Mosul by Loaa Adel Jun 1, 2019, 7:25 pm Nineveh (IraqiNews)-- An official source informed, on Saturday, that the Falcons Intelligence Cell forces killed six Islamic State militants, west of Mosul. The source said in a press statement that the forces from the Falcons Cell killed 6 militants from the Islamic state in al-Ayadiya area, west of Mosul, and seized their weapons. The source didn’t mentioned any further details, the statement added. It is noteworthy that security forces in Nineveh frequently announce either killing or apprehending a number of the Islamic state militants in different areas of the province. 14 alleged Islamic State members killed in clashes with security forces in Mosul by Mohammed Ebraheem May 29, 2019, 2:27 pm Mosul (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi authorities announced on Wednesday that 14 (alleged) Islamic State militants were killed in clashes with security forces in Mosul city. “As many as 14 (alleged Islamic State members), including senior leaders and suicide bombers, were killed during clashes with the Counter-Terrorism Service’s air landing forces in Mosul,” Baghdad Today quoted the Security Media Cell as saying in a press statement. The operation, carried out based on intelligence data, targeted a terrorist hotbed of the Islamic State group in al-Hadar district in southwestern Mosul, the statement read. Iraqi airstrike kills 10 Islamic State militants in Salahuddin by Mohammed Ebraheem May 28, 2019, 2:00 pm Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi warplanes killed on Tuesday 10 Islamic State militants and destroyed two armored vehicles during an air raid in Salahuddin province. “The Iraqi Air Force, in coordination with Salahuddin Operations Command, carried out an airstrike targeting Islamic State terrorists in Allas district in Salahuddin,” Alsumaria News quoted the Security Media Cell as saying in a press statement. The air raids left 10 Islamic State militants killed and two armored vehicles destroyed, including a booby-trapped one, the statement read. The operation also resulted in destroying two oil tankers at the site. Despite the group’s crushing defeat at its main havens across Iraq, Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks against troops with security reports warning that the militant group still poses a threat against stability in the country. Bomb attack kills two paramilitary fighters in Iraq’s Anbar by Mohammed Ebraheem May 28, 2019, 1:23 pm Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – Two personnel of the paramilitary Popular Mobilization Forces were killed Tuesday in a bomb attack in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, a local source said. Speaking to Alsumaria News, the source said that a booby-trapped vehicle exploded Tuesday morning in Barwanah town in Anbar province, leaving two Popular Mobilization Forces personnel dead. The explosion also wounded another fighter, the source said on condition of anonymity.
