Dozens of Yemenis Killed and Injured in Saudi and Houthi Air Strikes, UAE Urged to Expedite its Withdrawal

The Houthis shell Hees and al- Hook neighborhoods and fail to reach Al-Jah south of Hodeidah

Houthi militias on Monday intensified artillery shelling of government forces and residential neighborhoods in the districts of Hees and Drehimi, south of Hodeidah, in western Yemen.

Local sources told Al-Masdar Online that Houthi militias shelled with mortars, Howitzer and machine guns at a market and neighborhoods in the city of Hees, and government forces positions on the outskirts of the city, and damaged a number of houses, while no casualties were reported.

Al-Houthi militias also shelled liberated residential neighborhoods south of al-Hodeida, which belongs to al- Hook district, and government forces positions east of Al-Saleh, east of Hodeidah.

At the same time, in the past few hours, Houthi militias have pushed large reinforcements to the north and east of Hees, Beit al-Faqih and east of al-Derihmi district in order to intensify their attacks on government forces.

On Sunday evening, government forces foiled two violent attacks on Hees district, and Monday morning on the Al-Tur area in Al-Jah, in Beit al-Faqih governorate, south of the province.

Coalition announces interception of Houthi drones and the group confirms the targeting of two airports and an air base

The Saudi-led Arab coalition in Yemen said its forces intercepted drones launched by Houthi militias toward civilian airports in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

The Saudi Government Press Agency (SPA) quoted coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki as saying that the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Defense Force were able this morning to intercept and shoot down drones launched by the Houthi terrorist militias backed by Iran towards civilian airports in the Kingdom.

Al-Maliki said the Houthi militias began using the simultaneous attack method after carrying out their terrorist attack on a government camp in the interim capital Aden in close cooperation and coordination with ISIS terrorist organization.

At dawn, the Houthis announced large-scale attacks by K2 drones targeting Abha and Najran airports, and King Khalid Air Base in Assir.

Yahya Suray’a, a spokesman for the Houthi forces, claimed that the attacks targeted military aircraft parkings  and caused disruption of navigation at Najran and Abha airports, pointing out in a statement quoted by al-Masirah tv channel that the third attack, which targeted the King Khalid Air Base achieved its  target with high accuracy.

Houthi militias have recently stepped up their rocket attacks and drones, and Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government say the attacks are at Iran's directives to ease Washington’s pressure to prevent Iranian oil exports.

Because of the closure of northern citizens' shops. Clashes between two security forces north of Aden

Local residents and eyewitnesses told Al-Masdar Online that the security belt force tried to close shops for northern vendors in the northern city of Sheikh Osman, but soldiers from Al-Mehadhar Brigades clashed with them, causing injuries, including civilians.

Witnesses said that a force from the security belt was preparing to advance towards the center of the city market from the direction of the old police building, but soldiers belonging to the forces of the Al- Mehadhar Brigades intercepted their way to prevent it before the dispute developed into confrontations with light and medium weapons that resulted in injuries, including civilians.

This is the third clash of its kind that revolves around the division of security forces in Aden due to deportation file and the arrest of citizens from the north of the country after previous clashes between local gunmen who confronted a force of the belt tried to close shops owned by citizens from the north and other confrontations witnessed by the Directorate of Tawahi between two security forces, one of which tried to close a shop for a northern citizen and the other was confronting.

Earlier Sunday evening, the security belt logistics and support forces denied that they were behind deportations and arrests of northern citizens and said they would respond to such attempts strongly.

A camp of Saudi army and paid fighters off Najran hit by Badr-F ballistic missile

Badr-F ballistic missile hit, on Saturday, a recently constructed camp for the Saudi army and its paid fighters across from Najran, killing and injuring dozens.

“The Rocketry Force launched -thanks to God- a ballistic missile, Badr-F, on a recently constructed camp for the Saudi army and mercenaries south of Saqam off Najran,” the spokesman of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said.

Brigadier Sare’e confirmed that the ballistic missile hit its target accurately, pointing out that this strike came after a precise intelligence operation of their gatherings and that the strike caused dozens of deaths and injuries among the Saudi soldiers and paid fighters, causing a state of confusion in their side, noting that the wounded and dead were transferred to hospitals in Najran.

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.

Yemeni army forces try to stop the war with 60 offensive operations over 3 months

Armed forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sari said the air force has carried out 60 offensive operations during the past three months, with an average of two operations every 72 hours.

The spokesman added that the targeting of Khamis Mushait base made it paralyzed by more than 60%, forcing the enemy to evacuate the base of weapons.

He stressed that these operations revealed the size of confusion political, media, military and security of the Saudi regime and that the leadership of the armed forces is considering options to expand operations of the air force in the course of the next phase.

Saudi American War Crimes on Sunday, August 4th, 2019: Record

The Saudi-led coalition and its mercenaries, on Sunday, continued to launch raids and bomb a number of provinces, killing a civilian, injuring another and causing material damage to public and private property.

In Sa’adah, a civilian was killed and another was injured with Saudi artillery missiles and artillery shells in Qitabir district. The US-Saudi aggression waged 4 raids on Sahar district and 3 others on Baqem district. Saudi missiles and artillery shells also targeted populated areas in Haidan and Munabbih districts. 

In Hodeidah, the US-Saudi mercenaries targeted commercial areas in Kilo-16 with machineguns. They also targeted with over 20 artillery shells Hais district and several areas of 50th St. The US-Saudi forces targeted Addurayhimi district using medium and heavy arms.

Saudi Helicopters Hit Populated Areas in Al-Maharah

A apache helicopter affiliated with the Saudi forces in Al-Maharah governorate targeted populated areas with shells. A number of houses were damaged and a state of fear spread among children and women in those areas.

The civilians of the targeted area considered the targeting as an attempt to intimidate them.

In June, Saudi aircraft targeted a gathering of the tribes of Shahan district, who rejected the presence of Saudi military forces in the district.

Saudi forces moved into the province of Al-Mahrah despite being far away from conflict but its people have been protesting for more than a year; demanding the removal of these occupying forces from the province.

They consider their presence an invasion and an attempt to destabilize Yemen’s security and stability.

Sayyed Abdulmalik Advises UAE to Withdraw, Threatening to Further Escalate

Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi advised Sunday, the UAE to put an end to its participation in the war on Yemen, and to be serious in declaring the withdrawal from Yemen, “it is beneficial for its economic situation,” he explained.

He also said that the continuation of the UAE participation in the aggression and in the occupation of Yemen represents a danger to it and they are responsible for taking part in this war, pointing out that the Saudi-led coalition is in a state of confusion and disintegration day after day.

He added that Saudi Arabia did everything in Yemen during its aggression and America has continued to “milk” them until “they almost dried out, pointing out that “if Saudi Arabia continued its aggression, we will spare no effort to respond with a painful response.”

He condemned all forms of exploitation of the pilgrimage, including speeches that adopt positions hostile to the Yemeni people and the nation and are in favor of normalization with the Zionist enemy.

As for what happened in Aden from racist practices, Sayyed Abdulmalik said that this reveals the reality of the foreign partition and fragmentation projects in our country with their doctrinal, regional and racist titles. He noted that the interests of Yemenis are in brotherhood, cooperation, peace and stability.

“The practices in Aden is a scandal for the enemy and their agents and must face condemnation and the strengthening of fraternal ties,” he said.

Sayyed Abdulmalik added that all countries of arrogance, including US, has an intellectual activity to enslave and control people, stressing that the nation can not achieve political and economic independence for itself unless it obtains cultural and intellectual independence. He also added that there are also paths of action emanating from the national vision to meet the challenges of the Saudi-led coalition on the economic side.

Abdulsalam: Forced Migration, Displacement in Aden Part of the Agenda to Divide Yemen

The head of the National Delegation, Mohamed Abdulsalam, said on Sunday that what is happening in Aden, including lack of security and the collapse of values, are not spontaneous but related to an agenda towards dividing Yemen.

“The forces associated with the US-Saudi aggression bear full responsibility for endangering civil peace,” Abdulsalam said in a tweet.

Abdulsalam hailed the free people of Yemen who have declared their positions condemning these disgraceful acts.

Aden province has been witnessing two days of raids, displacement and closure of shops against the people of the northern provinces. US-Saudi and UAE mercenaries have committed many crimes against people living in Aden.

Nearly 1,000 child casualties of Yemen war in year since shocking Sa’ada bus attack

More than 300 children have died in fighting across Yemen in the year since an airstrike hit a bus in Sa’ada killing 41 school children and almost 600 have been injured, as international arms sales continue to fuel the conflict.

335 children have been killed by violent attacks including airstrikes, mines and shelling since 9 August 2018, equivalent to another eight buses being hit. Many more have died from hunger and disease, according to the UN, in a massive humanitarian crisis stoked by the conflict.

The world was rightly appalled by an attack that took the lives of so many young, innocent schoolchildren. Yet almost one child a day has been killed in the year since and violence remains a daily threat for Yemenis, alongside the struggle against hunger and disease.

“The people of Yemen urgently need a nationwide ceasefire before more lives are lost to this horrific conflict and the humanitarian disaster that it is fueling. All parties to the conflict and those with influence over them should do all in their power to end this deadly war now.”

Since the latest figures were published, more children have been killed or injured. Just last week an attack on a market killed at least 10 civilians, including children, in Sa’ada while in Taizz, five children were injured by shelling.

Airstrikes and shelling in Al Dale’e in May killed 10 children. In March, five children were killed in clashes in Taizz city while an attack on the Kushar district of Hajjah governorate killed 14 children. Over the year, there have been thirty incidents involving schools and eighteen involving hospitals.

“The international community should focus on protecting the lives of Yemeni civilians and ending this war, not profiting from it through arms sales.”

UAE Redeploying Troops in Yemen’s Hodeidah

The UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash says the Persian Gulf country has been redeploying its forces in Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah.

Gargash tweeted on Friday that the redeployment is “the outcome of extensive dialogue” within Saudi Arabia, which has been waging a war on Yemen since March 2015.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE are determined to avoid confrontation with Iran, he said, adding the two Arab allies had agreed on a strategy for the next phase in Yemen.

The remarks came less than a month after the United Arab Emirates announced a “strategic redeployment” from Hodeidah and a more limited retreat elsewhere in Yemen.

A senior UAE official, who was speaking on condition of anonymity, said the country was moving from a “military first” to a “peace first” strategy.

“We do have troop levels that are down for reasons that are strategic in Hodeidah and reasons that are tactical” in other parts of Yemen, he said.

The New York Times reported in July that the UAE had pulled most of its forces from the Yemen “quagmire” in a “face-saving” decision that has deeply upset its Saudi allies.

It quoted Western and Arab diplomats as saying that the Emiratis “are driven mostly by their desire to exit a war whose cost has become too high, even if it means angering their Saudi allies.”

On Thursday, the New York Times also revealed that the UAE had had been withdrawing from Yemen because it had come to the conclusion that the war was “unwinnable.”

The Western-backed military aggression, coupled with a naval blockade, has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis, destroyed the country’s infrastructure, and led to a massive humanitarian crisis.

The UAE has provided weapons, funding, training to at least 5,000 mercenaries in the bloody war on Yemen.
