Local residents in the old city of Taiz on Thursday have said that the attack launched the Islah militias on the city on the pretext of searching for wanted people from the radical Salafist group Abu Abbas resulted in the death and injury of more than 100 citizens, mostly children and women.

The residents explained that Abu Abbas militias fortified themselves in homes of civilians and faced the campaign launched by Islah militias, (the branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen), with a counter-campaign using snipers and thermal rockets.

They noted that the civilians remained in their homes under the fire of the two sides, calling for help, but no one gives a dim about their cry “while artillery shells were falling on houses and their voices reverberating throughout the city.”

Since Thursday morning, the old city has been witnessing attacks that the owners of shops have not been able to open, which doubling food and nutritional crisis  that the people of the city have suffered as a result of blockade imposed by the coalition countries since more than four years ago and malnutrition getting higher in Yemen as a whole.

Other sources said that many residents of the old City were forced to flee to mosques as safe places, and its minarets launched calls for those who rescued them from what they called the storm owners, referring to the militias of the coalition which named its war on Yemen with the decisive storm, but to no avail, in the time when the loudspeakers were repeating calls, the shells were falling on the city on both sides.

As clashes between coalition rival militias increase, the health situation in the city is worsening, residents said.

“The situation is unbearable in the old city, there are wounded civilians. There are no medical centers to receive them, and they are being rushed to homes or mosques,” one of the local residents added.

According to sources, “the hospitals in Taiz City started evacuating the patients and the majority of doctors and workers left their homes before neighborhoods and streets are closed after the fighting intensified in the east of the city.”

Over the past two weeks, Taiz has been witnessing violent confrontations between Salafist militias led by Abu Abbas and Islah party militias led by the city’s security, following which hundreds of families have been displaced from the city to Sanaa run by the Supreme Political Council, seeking a safe place to stay.

France wants to kill Yemenis ,misleads the whole world

April 26, 2019,  YemenExtra, Y.A

Diplomatic sources said that the prosecutor’s office in Paris is launching an investigation into the disclosure of military secrets after French media published a secret report prepared by the military intelligence on the use of French weapons in Yemen.

The news agency ” France Presse” on Wednesday, quoting several informed sources, that the investigation was launched on December 13 last year, on the basis of a lawsuit submitted by the French Ministry of the armies. The sources explained that the General Directorate of Internal Security (a French intelligence agency) is responsible for conducting the mentioned investigation.

The same sources indicated that a person or people who had access to the document under their functional status might have been involved in the disclosure process.

The report (15 pages) prepared by the French Military Intelligence, which revealed its content the new non-governmental organization, DISLOSE, contains detailed information on the weapons that France sent to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which are participating in the war against Yemen.

Although French officials have repeatedly covered their participation in the Yemen war under the pretext that the French arms supplied to Saudi Arabia and the UAE are used in a limited manner and in defensive operations only outside the lines of the fronts.

However, a number of French media outlets, based on the content of the report (which also includes an assessment of the seriousness of the use of French weapons against civilians), concluded that French arms, such as the heavy Leclerc and the large-caliber Cessars are used In offensive operations against Yemen.

Discovery’s founder, Geoffrey Lepulsi, revealed that at least three journalists who were involved in the investigative report on the subject of the report were summoned to provide intelligence briefings by the coming mid-May.

“The sole purpose of this investigation is to identify sources that have allowed us to complete our professional work with the content of the report,” he said.

“This is a flagrant violation of press freedom,” he added, breaking national legislation on the protection of press sources.

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.
