لقى ما لا يقل عن خمسة وثلاثين، مسلحا حوثيا مصرعهم، وأصيب آخرون، جراء غارات شنتها مقاتلات التحالف العربي، على عدد  من مواقع المليشيات الانقلابية بمحافظة البيضاء.

وقال قائد كتيبة النصر باللواء 117المقدم عبدالسلام السعيدي، إن عشرين مسلحا حوثيا بينهم قيادات، قتلوا، وأصيب آخرون، وتم تدمير مخازن أسلحة وتفجير مخزن سلاح وتموين نفطي، في منطقة الوهبية، بمحافظة البيضاء. وبحسب السعدي، عاود الطيران صباح اليوم قصف مواقع المليشيات، وتمكن من تدمير منصة كاتيوشا وإحراق اثنين أطقم عسكرية، ومصرع أكثر من خمسة عشر من عناصر الميليشيات كانوا على متنها، ليبلغ العدد الكلي 35 مسلحا بينهم قيادات.

Two soldiers killed and three injured in an attack by outlaw elements in Taiz

Two soldiers were killed and three others injured in an attack by outlaw elements in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, on Saturday.

A source told Almasdar online that Two soldiers of the patrol and road security forces killed and three others were injured while protecting the Taj Shamsan Hotel on Saturday.

The sources said the elements attacked the soldiers during their performance of their mission, in an attempt to re-control the hotel.

Two civilians were killed by a military vehicle driven by Houthi leader

Two civilians were killed, run over by a military vehicle led by a leader of the Houthi militia, in al-Zaidia district of Hodeidah, west of Yemen.

Local sources said that a Houthi field commander ran over two people riding a motorcycle by a military vehicle driven in the city of Zaidia, which led to their death immediately.

The sources added that the Houthi leader moved the bodies of the victims aboard his vehicle to the Al-Thawra hospital in Hodeidah City and entered them in the hospital's refrigerator and left.

"Houthi" accuses Griffith of reneging on commitments to ease economic crisis

The head of the so-called "Supreme Revolutionary Committee" of the Houthis, Houthi leader Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, on Saturday accused UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths of reneging on his commitments to ease the economic crisis.

In a tweet on his Twitter page, al-Houthi said Griffiths did not abide by his promise to ease the economic crisis that has increased since his appointment, noting that the international envoy said his "priorities are to alleviate the economic crisis."

He pointed out that the economic crisis has increased since his appointment.

Al-Houthi leader called for the return of revenues to the Yemeni central bank in Sana'a to ensure the disbursement of salaries of employees, accusing "the Saudi-American aggression and its allies to introduce cash prints to Aden to collapse the riyal."

World Food program expresses concern over truck attack in Tahita

The World Food Program (WFP) expressed serious concern over the shelling of a truck belonging to the program last Wednesday while aiding those affected in Tahita, south of Hodeidah Province (western Yemen).

According to a press release, the truck, which had a clear sign of its connection to the World Food Program (WFP), was on its way to the area of Tahita, carrying about 30 tons of food aid.

He added that the cargo was sufficient to cover the needs of approximately 2,000 people for a month.

He noted that an unidentified armed group, only two kilometers from the destination of the final truck, had carried out the attack, resulting in severe injuries to the driver of the truck, who had been taken to hospital where his condition had stabilized.

It said that the amount of food that was aboard the truck remained intact, loaded onto another truck and delivered to the intended destination.

The war in the areas of Tahita and Drihmi has prevented food aid from reaching the besieged area since June, and the food program believes they are in dire need of such assistance. However, it has succeeded in sending food to 33,000 people, or nearly half of the population of Tahita.

The World Food Program (WFP) appealed to all parties to protect civilians, respect humanitarian principles and allow safe food to be delivered to needy Yemeni families, regardless of their whereabouts, especially in areas of active conflict.

Yemen is experiencing the world's biggest hunger crisis, with one-third of its population or 18 million people not knowing where their next meal will come from, including some 8.4 million people on the brink of famine. The program is currently expanding its assistance to 8 million people per month.

Scores fall dead and wounded of paid fighters al- Baidah province

The number of dead and wounded of the U.S backed Saudi-led coalition’s paid fighters from Shabwa province, who were killed in clashes with the Yemeni army forces in Nida Front in the province of Baidah, has reached 250 dead and 360 wounded since the beginning of the year 2018 so far.

The sources confirmed that 45 paid fighters were killed and 47 others from Shabwa province were injured in clashes with the Yemeni army forces in the front of Nita in the province of al-Baida last July.

In March 2015, the US backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

A UN panel has compiled a detailed report of civilian casualties caused by the Saudi military and its allies during their war against Yemen, saying the Riyadh-led coalition has used precision-guided munitions in its raids on civilian targets.

Yemeni forces fire a ballastic missile on Najran

The missile force of the Yemeni army forces fired on Thursday a ballistic missile toward border Saudi province of Najran, a military official told YemenExtra.

The missile, Bader-1, was fired toward a new Saudi camp, inflicting their enemy heavy losses.

Seperately,19 fishermen are missing as a result of the coalition raids that targeted their boats near Akban island in Hodeidah.

Head of the General Authority for Fish Resources, Abdul Qader Al-Wadai, said earlier that scores of fishermen were on three boats which were targeted Thursday by the coalition near Akban island.

Yemeni army forces score in the West Coast

The Yemeni army forces , on Thursday (August 30, 2018), destroyed a machinery for the U.S backed Saudi-led coalition , killing all of them in the Durahemi front, in the West Coast. They also targeted a military truck in the same front in the West Coast with a guided missile.

Earlier in the day, the Engineering Unit had destroyed two armored vehicles for the coalitio with two explosive devices in al-Durahmi, killing and injuring all of them.

The US-Saudi-led coalition  launched an offensive on Hudaydah on 12 June in the largest battle of the war that the United Nations fears risks triggering a famine in Yemen where an estimated 8.4 million people are on the verge of starvation. Recently, It has been paused for peace talks, but no deal has been struck leaving Yemenis pessimistic over a viable political process.

Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi(Ansarallah)  movement, which is the main force that faces the coallition, said on a TV speech ,” The decision of invading the Yemeni ,western coast, has been taken and adopted by the United States of America,noting that the Saudis are trying to abolish Yemen’s freedom,” stressing that it was the people of Yemen’s right to defend their country.

The Bab el-Mandab Strait, which is the southern entrance to the Red Sea, is one of the world’s key shipping lanes for crude oil and allows crude exports into the European market.

Over 11,500 Displaced Families in Yemen: UNHCR

UNHCR, in coordination with partners, is carrying out in monitoring assessments for displaced families. Over 11,500 displaced families (over 70,000 people) have been assessed country-wide.

The war in Yemen is also affecting refugees and asylum-seekers. UNHCR and partners face significant challenges in ensuring a safe environment, adequate protection, humanitarian assistance and access to essential, life-saving services for refugees who may be vulnerable to serious protection concerns such as early marriage, child labour, increased detention and dangerous onward movement, as the crisis has impacted on their resilience and livelihoods.

Yemen hosts over 270,000 refugees, the vast majority of whom (over 256,000) are Somalis. Despite the challenging security environment which makes humanitarian access difficult, UNHCR try to help refugees and asylum-seekers in Al Hudaydah governorate. Most of them are Eritreans.

Yemen is currently the worst humanitarian crisis in the world with around 22 million people, 75 per cent of the population, requiring some form of humanitarian assistance and protection.

More than 120,000 Suspected Cases of Cholera in Yemen

The United Nations says nearly 120,000 suspected cases of cholera were reported in war-wracked Yemen between January and mid-August and the pace has been increasing.

U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters that although the 120,000 figure is lower than during the same period in 2017, “the increasing rate of infections over recent weeks is raising concerns of a possible third wave of the epidemic, with the current rains increasing the risk.”

Dujarric said that since April 2017, over 1.1 million suspected cholera cases and 2,310 deaths have been reported in Yemen.

He said “the outbreak is the most serious on record,” and the U.N.’s humanitarian partners have vaccinated nearly 400,000 people against cholera in high-risk districts of Hodeida and Ibb to avoid a large-scale resurgence.

The United Nations is warning of a possible “third wave” of the cholera epidemic in Yemen, which is already “the largest outbreak on record.”
