19 Palestinian Civilians Killed, Hundreds Injured, in August, by Israeli Occupation Soldiers from Across the Border September 1st, 2018 Editor's Note: While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. The Health Ministry said the medic, identified as Shorouq Abu Mosameh, was seriously injured after the soldiers shot her with a live round in the chest, which exited through her back. She was rushed to the Surgery Room at the Gaza European Hospital, and is currently in very serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The Health Ministry said Israeli soldiers injured, Friday, 180 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including 59 who were rushed to hospitals, including a seriously wounded child, 10 years of age; the rest received treatment at field clinics. In an interview after being injured in a previous Israeli attack while performing her humanitarian duties, Shorouq called for international protection to the medics, who are directly and deliberately targeted by the army while performing their duties in aiding wounded Palestinians during the Great Return March procession in the Gaza Strip. “My message to the world, and the International Community, is to provide protection to us as medics, and to the journalists facing constant Israeli assaults and violations. I was targeted by the army, although I was wearing a white nurses’ gown,” she said, “This is my message to the world, the army continues to target us, and killed our colleague, medic Razan Najjar, and journalist Yasser Mortaja. Our message to the world is that we demand our legitimate rights as journalists and medics, to be provided with international protection.” PLO Report: 19 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Occupation Soldiers in August August 31, 2018 8:59 PM IMEMC News & Agencies Israeli occupation forces killed a total of 19 Palestinians, including four children, during August of 2018, according to a report by Abdullah Horani Center of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). In the West Bank, a number of Palestinians were injured during weekly nonviolent marches condemning Israeli settlement policies. Israeli forces cracked down on a nonviolent protest near the village of Ras Karkar, northwest of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, according to local PNN sources. Eye witnesses said that Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated rounds and teargas canisters to disperse protesters who were performing Friday prayers on a land outside the village, which Israeli occupation authorities are planning to confiscate, in order to build a settlement. Medical sources additionally reported that several cases of suffocation from teargas inhalation occurred among the protesters. In another Israeli violation, a Palestinian child was injured on Friday, when he was hit by the shrapnel of a stun grenade fired by Israeli soldiers at Palestinian protesters in the village of Ni’iln, west of Ramallah. Israeli soldiers fired stun grenades at demonstrators who were protesting near the village, against Israeli settlements and the apartheid wall, injuring an 12-year-old with the shrapnel of a stun grenade. More than 171 Palestinians have been killed and 17,500 others injured since the outbreak of the Gaza border protests on March 30. The protests call for ending the 12-year-long Israeli blockade of Gaza and for the right of return of the refugees. Israeli Occupation Soldiers Open Fire At Return Camp In Southern Gaza August 31, 2018 11:00 AM IMEMC News Gaza City, Israeli occupation soldiers fired, on Friday morning, live rounds at the Great Return Camp, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Media sources said the soldiers, stationed on military towers near the perimeter fence, east of Khan Younis, fired many live rounds at the Palestinians, and added that the attacks did not lead to casualties. The attack comes ahead of the Great Return March processions, which will be held today for the 23rd consecutive week since the nonviolent protests started on Palestinian Land Day, March 30th, 2018. Since then, the army killed 171 Palestinians, including medics, journalists, women and children, and injured at least 18300 others, in several parts of the Gaza Strip. PCHR: “Israeli Occupation Army Injures 75 Civilians, Including 16 Children, 1 Journalist And Two Paramedics, In Gaza” September 1, 2018 3:08 AM PCHR Israeli occupation forces Continue their Crimes in Eastern Gaza Strip, wounding 75 Civilians, Including 16 Children, Journalist and 2 Paramedics; One of them Female Paramedic Sustained Serious Wounds Date: 31 August 2018, Time: 18:30 GMT On Friday, 31 August 2018, using excessive lethal force against the peaceful protesters in eastern Gaza Strip, Israeli occupation forces wounded 75 civilians, including 16 children, a journalist and 2 paramedics; one of them was a female paramedic who sustained serious wounds, after hitting them with live bullets and direct tear gas canisters. Two of those wounded sustained serious wounds. Moreover, dozens of civilians suffered tear gas inhalation, despite the decrease in the number of demonstrators for the 23rd Friday in a row. During this week, the Israeli forces continued to target medical personnel working in the field. Moreover, an ambulance sustained damage after directly targeting it in eastern Jabalia, indicating that there is a systematic Israeli policy to target medical personnel and obstruct their humanitarian work, which is protected under the rules of international humanitarian law. The Israeli forces used upon highest military and political echelons excessive force against the peaceful demonstrators who posed no threat to the life of Israeli soldiers. The following table shows number of Civilian casualties due to the Israeli suppression of the Return Demonstrations Since 30 of March: Causalities Total Children Women Journalists Paramedics Notes Deaths 130 23 1 2 3 Among those Killed, there are 3 Persons with Disabilities and a female child Injuries 6885 1175 206 79 105 Among those wounded, 424 are in serious condition and 69 persons’ lower or upper limbs were amputated. Statistics of the injured only include those directly hit with bullets and tear gas canisters as there are thousands others suffered tear gas inhalation and sustained bruises. Investigations and observations by PCHR’s fieldworkers emphasize that the demonstrations were as always fully peaceful and PCHR’s fieldworkers did not witness weapons or armed persons whereas Israeli forces’ snipers continued to position on the hills, behind the sand barriers and in military jeeps along the border fence. The incidents today, 31 August 2018, were as follows: At approximately 16:30, thousands of civilians, including women, children and entire families, started swarming to 5 encampments established by the Supreme National Authority for the Great March of Return and Breaking Siege along the border fence, east of the Gaza Strip’s governorates. They raised flags, and chanted slogans and national songs in addition to flying kites and firing balloons, while hundreds of them, including children and women, approached the border fence, set fire to tires and attempted to throw stones at the Israeli forces. The participants were present around 300 meters away from the main border fence. The Israeli shooting, which continued until 19:30, resulted in the injury of 75 civilians, including 16 children, a journalist and 2 paramedics after hitting them with live bullets and direct tear gas canisters. The wounded paramedics were identified as: Shorouq Fawzi ‘Ali Abu Hussain (Abu Musameh), 21, a volunteer paramedic with al-Hatay medical team, who was hit with a live bullet that entered the chest and exited the back in Rafah. Mo’een Ibrahim ‘Abdullah al-Masri (43), a volunteer paramedic with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), who was hit with a tear gas canister to the right waist in eastern Jabalia. In addition, dozens of civilians suffered tear gas inhalation and seizures after tear gas canisters were heavily fired by the Israeli soldiers stationed in military vehicles and by drones hovering over the protesters in the eastern Gaza Strip. PCHR hereby condemns these crimes committed by the Israeli forces, believing it is as a result of Israel’s enjoying impunity thanks to the U.S. and so encouraging the Israeli forces to commit further crimes upon an official decision by the highest military and political echelons. PCHR emphasizes that continuously inflicting casualties, either killed or wounded, is unjustified and targeting and killing civilians, who exercise their right to peaceful assembly or while carrying out their humanitarian duty, using lethal force is a serious violation of the rules of intentional law and international humanitarian law. PCHR also stresses that this ongoing policy by Israel violates the Rome STATUTE OF THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT (ICC) and Fourth Geneva Convention, and its practices qualify to war crimes. Thus, PCHR calls upon the ICC Prosecutor to open an official investigation into these crimes in addition to prosecuting and holding accountable all of those involved in issuing decisions and orders in the Israeli forces at the political and security level and those applying the orders. PCHR also reiterates its call upon the High Contracting Parties to the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations under Article 1; i.e., to respect and ensure respect for the Convention in all circumstances and their obligations under Article 146 to prosecute persons alleged to commit grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention. PCHR calls upon Switzerland, in its capacity as the Depository State for the Convention, to demand the High Contracting Parties to convene a meeting and ensure Israel’s respect for this Convention, noting that these grave breaches constitute war crimes under Article 147 of the same Convention and Protocol (I) Additional to the Geneva Conventions regarding the guarantee of Palestinian civilians’ right to protection in the occupied territories *** Share the link of this article with your facebook friendsFair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
