550 Killed in the Battles of Rif Dimashq Desert, Since July, Including Syrian Government Forces, their Allies and ISIS Fighters October 13, 2018 Editor's Note: The following news stories are just examples of the daily horrors of war in Syria. The following are news stories from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) website (http://www.syriahr.com/en/): *** More human losses in the battles of Rif Dimashq Desert raises to 550, the number of casualties of the regime forces, their allies and the organization since late July 2018 SOHR, 12/10/2018 2 Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Rif Dimashq Desert which is located at the administrative border with Al-Suwaidaa countryside, is witnessing continued military operations by the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian at the expense of the “Islamic State” organization, where the violent clashes are still continuing between the both parties within Tlul Al-Safa, in ongoing attacks by the regime forces and their allies in order to end the presence of the organization in the last area remaining for the it in Rif Dimashq Desert, and the clashes are also accompanied by renewed shelling. The Syrian Observatory documented more human losses in the ranks of the both parties, where it rose to at least 361, the number of ISIS members who have been killed in the bombings, shelling and clashes since the 25th of July 2018, while it rose to at least 189, the number of members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them who were killed in the same period, including members of the Lebanese Hezbollah among them a Lebanese commander as well as officers of the regime forces with varying ranks the highest of which are Major Generals. The clashes also resulted in the injury of hundreds others with varying severity, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of about 142 citizens including 38 women and children, who were executed or shot by the “Islamic State” organization, in addition to the killing of 116 people, the majority of whom were of the gunmen villagers who carried the gun to repel the organization’s attack, and a 19-year-old boy and a citizen woman were executed by ISIS after being kidnapped along with about 30 others, and a woman died when she was held by ISIS in conditions that still vague so far. And the SOHR published today morning, that the clashes continue with varying frequency of violence in the in the desert of Rif Dimashq located at the administrative border with al-Suwaidaa, between the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the “Islamic State” Organization, accompanied by bombings and targeting, where the clash are concentrated in Tlul al-Safa area, which is the last of what remained for the Organization in the area. Information about more casualties in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday Thursday, that the clashes are still continuing fiercely between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, within the area of Tlul Al-Safa, the last area left for the organization in Rif Dimashq Desert at the administrative border with Al-Suwaidaa Desert. The violent clashes are accompanied by heavy shelling in ongoing attempts by the regime forces and their allies try to achieve new advancements to clamp down on the members of the organization even more, in order to force it surrender which in turn leads to end its presence in the area completely, while the organization which shows desperate efforts in defending its last stronghold, tends to carry out counterattacks every now and then, where the rugged geographical nature of the area helps it to set up ambushes and carry out counterattacks, while the Syrian Observatory documented the fall of more casualties and wounded as a result of the continued military operations there. *** The following are news stories from the US Department of Defense website (http://www.defense.gov/News) : ***
