Scores of Syrians Killed in Various Cities by Government and US-Led Air Strikes, and Faction Clashes November 4, 2017 Editor's Note: The following news stories are just examples of the daily horrors of war in Syria. The following are news stories from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) website (http://www.syriahr.com/en/): *** Clashes in areas in Aleppo countryside between the SDF and the factions and shelling hits the southern countryside of Aleppo SOHR, 04/11/2017 Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: areas in al-Hajeb village in the southern countryside of Aleppo, were shelled by the regime forces, and no information about casualties was reported, accompanied by bombardment by warplanes on areas in Ramla village, in the southern countryside of Aleppo by two raids, which caused material damage. Clashes took place between the Syria Democratic Forces against the Turkish supported rebel and Islamic factions, in Basufan area in the north-western countryside of Aleppo, accompanied by shelling by the later to areas in Bashmrah in Afrin Township, which is located in the north-western countryside of Aleppo, and which is controlled by the SDF. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today that the warplanes carried out several raids this morning, on areas in Al-Rahjan and its vicinity in the north-eastern countryside of Hama, accompanied by renewing the intensive shelling by the regime forces, on the same areas, after calm witnessed in the hot fronts in the area during the past night due to the bad weather, which stopped the fighting between the both parties. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the clashes continued at less pace of violent, between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions, in areas in the north-eastern countryside of Hama. The Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that violent clashes are still taking place between the regime forces and their allied militiamen against Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the Islamic factions in several areas in the vicinity of the village of Abu Dali in the southeastern countryside of Hama, in a renewed attempt by the regime forces to reach the village and re-control it, and this coincided with heavy artillery and aerial shelling on the clash areas, while violent clashes are taking place between both sides in Al-Shakuzia area in the northeastern countryside of Hama. There is information about an advancement achieved by the regime forces in the outskirts of the village, accompanied by aerial bombardment on areas in the villages of Al-Rahjan Sarha and Al-Shakuzia in the northeastern countryside of Hama. 59 were killed yesterday including 13 members of the regime forces and loyalists and about 30 civilians SOHR, 03/11/2017 In Rif Dimashq Province: 10 citizens were killed including a man and his two daughters and two other children were killed in bombing by warplanes believed to belong to the International Coalition on areas in al-Salhiyyeh town in the countryside of Bokamal. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that 4 persons were killed in bombing by warplanes believed to belong to the International Coalition on areas in Al-Busayrah town which is controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, also warplanes bombed places in al-Baghuz village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, which killed 5 persons at least and two of them are unidentified, also unknown warplanes bombed places in the river crossing area in al-Marashdah area in the countryside of al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor which killed a man and his son. While 9 members of the “Islamic State” organization were killed in the shelling and clashes in the countryside of Al-Mayadin. And 13 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them we killed in shelling and clashes against the “Islamic State” organization and the factions. And at least 9 members of the “Islamic State” organization of non-Syrian nationalities were killed in clashes, bombing by warplanes and helicopters and shelling on areas of their presence. After the death and injury of about 70 people in Hodr town and the countryside of Quneitra… the regime forces restore the entire areas they lost during the attack of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the factions today SOHR, 03/11/2017 The clashes continues between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions near border with the occupied Syrian Golan, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the fighting and the intense shelling enabled the regime forces to restore the areas they lost when the factions managed to achieve an advancement in the area, and opened a corridor links the besieged southwest of Rif Dimashq to the northern countryside of Quneitra through, by controlling the area between al-Tlul al-Homr and Tal al Hamriya, where the factions advanced and controlled Tal al-Harrah, Qers al-Naql and the areas between them in the north, west and southwest of Hodr town, before the regime forces regain control of this whole area and re-besieged the southwest of Rif Dimashq, the last area where factions are located on the Syrian-Lebanese border, which is the areas where rebel fighters are present on the Syrian – Lebanese border, which has been witnessing in the past few weeks hundreds barrel bombs dropped by regime’s helicopters, along with the fall of tens of shells and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from intersecting sources that these violent clashes that took place since the morning of Friday the 3rd of November 2017; have caused significant casualties in the ranks of both parties, while Hodr town has witnessed the arrival of military reinforcements of the gunmen Loyal to the regime and other supporter gunmen coming from the outskirts of the capital Damascus, while the Syrian Observatory documented during these violent clashes the death of more than 17 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and the injury of about 50 people in the shelling, explosions and clashes in Hodr town and its vicinity, as well as the southwest of Rif Dimashq and northern countryside of Quneitra, while at least 7 fighters of the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham including a local leader of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham were killed, others were also seriously injured during these clashes, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored demonstrations by Syrians citizens in the occupied Syrian Golan on the contact lines between the occupied Syrian Golan and the liberated Syrian Golan, where the local sources confirmed that citizens crossed from the occupied Golan to the first line, but the positioned forces at the border prevented them from advancing more towards the liberated Syrian Golan. *** The following are news stories from the US Department of Defense website (http://www.defense.gov/News) : *** Inherent Resolve Strikes Target ISIS in Syria, Iraq From a Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve News Release SOUTHWEST ASIA, Nov. 3, 2017 — U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria yesterday. Strikes in Syria In Syria, coalition military forces conducted nine strikes consisting of nine engagements against ISIS targets: -- Near Abu Kamal, a strike destroyed an ISIS line of communication. -- Near Shaddadi, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed an ISIS vehicle and damaged a heavy weapon. -- Near Dayr Az Zawr, six strikes engaged four ISIS tactical units and destroyed an ISIS line of communication, a vehicle-borne-bomb factory and an ISIS headquarters. Additionally, officials reported today that a Nov. 1 strike consisting of one engagement destroyed nine ISIS supply routes near Abu Kamal. Strikes in Iraq In Iraq, coalition military forces conducted four strikes consisting of six engagements against ISIS targets near Qaim. The strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed two vehicle-borne-bomb factories, an ISIS-held building, two fighting positions and an ISIS spotter location. Officials also announced today that a strike consisting of eight engagements was conducted Oct. 31 near Qaim, engaging an ISIS tactical unit and damaging 10 ISIS supply routes.
