Thirteen Islamic State militants killed in infiltration attempt in Salahuddin

Thirteen Islamic State militants were killed in an attack against security troops in Salahuddin, the police department announced on Saturday.

“Based on intelligence information, Salahuddin Operations Command and the troops from the province’s police, backed by army jets, carried out an operation in al-Shiha village, west of Tikrit. The operation left thirteen militants killed, seven of them were sheltering in a tunnel,” the department said in a statement.

“A rest house of the militants, including TNT explosives and food supply was destroyed,” it added.

Twelve Islamic State militants were killed and injured as artillery of Al-Hashd al-Shaabi [Popular Mobilization Forces] shelled on Friday the militants who attempted infiltration from Hamreen mountains toward Tuz Khurmatu region, eastern Salahuddin.

Having recaptured Hawija in Kirkuk, Mosul and Tal Afar in Nineveh as well as Annah and Qaim towns in Anbar, Iraqi troops still have only western Anbar’s towns of Rawa and Qaim remain under the militant’s control.

Earlier on the day, Iraqi joint forces launched a wide-scale operation to liberate al-Rummana and Rawa regions.

Operations were launched, late October, to liberate Qaim and Rawa towns. Both have been held by the extremist group since 2014, when it occupied one third of Iraq to proclaim a self-styled Islamic “Caliphate”.

Iraq could grant Iranians visa-free entry after IS threat removed

Iraq intends to grant Iranians a visa-free entry after the country completely eradicates the Islamic State threat, its ambassador to Tehran said.

Iranian agency Mehr News quoted ambassador Rageh al-Mosawi Thursday saying that “Baghdad intends to cancel visas for Iranian visitors after the complete elimination of Daesh (Islamic State)”.

“Twenty million visitors have gathered in Karbala in a god security environment…the participation by Iranian visitors increases annually, reaching tens of millions,” the ambassador said, lauding security cooperation between both countries.

Millions of Shia worshippers have marked this weekend 40 days since the anniversary of the death of Imam al-Hussein, grandson of Prophet Mohammed and the most sacred Shia Islam figure, in the battle of Karbala (680 A.D.).

The annual ceremony regularly witness exceptional security preparations on behalf of Iraqi authorities.

Coalition Strikes Continue Against ISIS in Syria, Iraq

SOUTHWEST ASIA, Nov. 10, 2017 —

U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, conducting 23 strikes consisting of 28 engagements Nov. 6-9, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

Strikes in Syria

Yesterday in Syria, coalition military forces conducted 11 strikes consisting of 11 engagements against ISIS targets:

-- Near Abu Kamal, a strike destroyed four ISIS logistics hubs.

-- Near Dayr Az Zawr, 10 strikes engaged eight ISIS tactical units and destroyed an ISIS line of communication, four fighting positions and an ISIS vehicle.

No strikes were reported in Syria on Nov. 8.

On Nov. 7, coalition military forces conducted six strikes consisting of nine engagements against ISIS targets:

-- Near Abu Kamal, a strike destroyed a command-and-control center.

-- Near Dayr Az Zawr, four strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed a tactical vehicle and an explosive hazard.

-- Near Shaddadi, a strike destroyed an ISIS fighting position.

On Nov. 6, coalition military forces conducted four strikes consisting of six engagements against ISIS targets:

منسقة الشؤون الإنسانية في العراق “ليز غراندي” أبدت تخوفها من تزايد أعداد النازحين في العراق وسط ما تشهده البلاد من صراعات ، داعية إلى بذل كل جهد ممكن لضمان سلامة النازحين وحصولهم على المساعدة التي يحتاجونها في الوقت المناسب ، وتسهيل توصيلها لهم.

إقرار حكومي بتجاوز أعداد النازحين الخمسة ملايين مدني

“أعداد النازحين في العراق معرضة للزيادة في أي وقت؛ نتيجة ما تمر به البلاد من أزمات سياسية”

إحصائية الأمم المتحدة المقلقة لأعداد النازحين أقرت بها الحكومة ، حيث اعترفت وزارة الهجرة والمهجرين بتجاوز أعداد النازحين في العراق الـ5 ملايين مدني ، مشيرة إلى أن أعداد النازحين في تصاعد مستمر ؛ نتيجة استمرار العمليات العسكرية في العديد من المناطق بأنحاء العراق.

وزير الهجرة “جاسم محمد الجاف” أقر من جانبه بأن اقتحام المدن في مختلف أنحاء العراق ، لم يوقف موجات النزوح ، بسبب ما أحدثته العمليات العسكرية في هذه المدن من دمار كبير ، فضلا عن انتشار الميليشيات بشكل مكثف فيها وممارستهم انتهاكات بحق المدنيين ، كما اعترف الجاف بالأوضاع الصعبة التي يعانيها النازحون في المخيمات.

أعداد النازحين في العراق معرضة للزيادة في أي وقت؛ نتيجة ما تمر به البلاد من أزمات سياسية ، فالأزمة الخانقة التي شهدتها البلاد مؤخرًا عقب استفتاء كردستان ، وما ترتب عليها من مواجهات عسكرية بين القوات المشتركة وميليشياتها من جهة وقوات البيشمركة الكردية من جهة أخرى في كركوك والمناطق المتنازع عليها ، تسببت في نزوح أعداد كبيرة من المدنيين.

أكثر من 175 ألف نازح منذ انطلاق المواجهات العسكرية بين بغداد وأربيل

175 ألف مدني أو يزيد ، نزحوا من ثلاث محافظات عراقية هي أربيل ونينوى ودهوك ؛ نتيجة المعارك بين القوات المشتركة والبيشمركة بحسب ما أفادت منظمة الأمم المتحدة ، والتي أكدت استمرار موجات النزوح جراء تواصل المواجهات في المناطق المتنازع عليها ، وتعرض هذه المناطق للقصف العشوائي.

نزوح أكثر من عشرة آلاف مدني من غرب نينوى إلى زاخو

مناطق غرب نينوى شهدت هي الأخرى نزوح أكثر من 10 آلاف شخص نحو مدينة زاخو ومحيطها بسبب التوتر العسكري بين القوات المشتركة وميليشياتها وقوات البيشمركة الكردية ، حيث فر النازحون من مناطق زمار وربيعة وسنجار الواقعة في غربي دجلة بعد وصول ميليشيا الحشد الشعبي والقوات المشتركة إلى مناطقهم ، فيما يعاني هؤلاء النازحون من أوضاع إنسانية مزرية عقب نزوحهم إلى زاخو.

أوضاع النازحين الصعبة في زاخوا فاقمها ، إغلاق مطاري أربيل والسليمانية من قبل الحكومة في بغداد ، حيث أدى ذلك إلى تراجع أعمال المنظمات الأجنبية لمساعدة النازحين ؛ بسبب عدم وصول المساعدات والإغاثة إلى كردستان بسهولة ، على الرغم من وجود سبع منظمات أجنبية.

معاناة النازحين في تزايد مستمر

أوضاع مفجعة يعيشها ملايين النازحين في العراق تتنوع بتنوع فصول السنة ، ففي الصيف تتسبب درجات الحرارة المرتفعة وأشعة الشمس الحارقة في وفاة العديد منهم ، والآن ومع دخول فصل الشتاء والعواصف الترابية التي تتعرض لها معظم المحافظات العراقية ، تتفاقم معاناة هؤلاء النازحين ، حيث اقتلعت هذه العواصف خيامهم؛ مما أدى إلى بقائهم في العراء.

عضو لجنة الهجرة والمهجرين البرلمانية “زاهد الخاتوني” أقر بأن عاصفة محملة بالغبار وصلت نينوى من دون أن يتم الاستعداد لها جيدًا من قبل الجهات المعنية بالنازحين ، معترفًا بأن مخيمات النمرود والحمام وباقي المخيمات في محافظة نينوى تأثرت بشكل كبير بالعواصف الترابية ، ولم يكن هناك أي تحرك من قبل مديرية الصحة وكأن الأمر لا يعنيهم ، بل أكثر من ذلك أن الوضع مر من دون أن يكلفوا أنفسهم بالتواجد خلال العاصفة وتقديم الإسعافات الأولية للمصابين بأمراض الجهاز التنفسي.

فصل الشتاء الذي نحن على أعتابه دائمًا ما يأتي بمزيد من المعاناة على النازحين ، حيث تتعرض المخيمات في ذلك الفصل للغرق بمياه الأمطار وتراكم الثلوج ، ويتعرض كذلك النازحون للوفاة من شدة البرد ، في ظل الإهمال الحكومي المتعمد ، وافتقار هذه المخيمات للحد الأدنى من مقومات الحياة.

خمسة ملايين نازح في العراق ، هم حصيلة نحو ثلاث سنوات من العمليات العسكرية على مناطق بعينها ، تتزايد معاناتهم من حين لآخر ، وينتظرهم مصير مجهول بعد أن حل الدمار والخراب بمناطقهم ، وباتوا بين مطرقة النزوح وقساوته وسندان العودة لمدنهم معدومة الخدمات.
