Warmongering Islamophobia in the US, September 2-9, 2016, CAIR Reports

Editorial Note:

Islamphobia (exaggerated and baseless fear of Muslims) has been perpetrated and perpetuated to justify the continuous US wars and invasions of the Muslim World since 1990, in order for the war industry beneficiaries to justify the enormous and unprecedented US national debt, which has reached more than $19 trillion, as a result of the permanent-war military spending.

Tens of thousands of Americans are killed by non-Muslim other Americans every year, in gun violence. However, Islamophobes ignore that fact and focus on an incident or two perpetrated by Muslims in an entire year.

For example, in 2015, there were 53,228 shooting incidents, resulting in the killing of 13,415 Americans. Of these, there were only two incidents perpetrated by Muslims and resulting in the killing of 18 Americans.

The Zionist media, like Fox News and CNN, together with the  war industry agents and Zionist-controlled politicians like Trump, kept mentioning these two incidents while totally ignoring the other 53,226 incidents, which resulted in the killing of 13,398 Americans!

The end outcome is that the American people are indeed actual victims of a continuous warmongering campaign, Islamophobia, and a daily holocaust, perpetrated against them by the war industry beneficiaries and their agents in the media and politics.

CAIR-NY Welcomes Hate Crime Charge for Attack on Muslim Women, Urges Mosques to Take Security Measures

(NEW YORK, N.Y., 9/9/16) � The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today welcomed a hate crime charge for an attack on two Muslim women pushing babies in strollers during which the alleged attacker punched and kicked the victims and tried to pull off their Islamic head scarves, or hijabs.

CAIR-NY also urged local mosques and Islamic institutions to increase security measures this weekend as the nation marks the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

According to police, the alleged attacker shouted Islamophobic insults as she assaulted the victims about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The alleged attacker reportedly shouted, "Get the f--- out of America, b-----s," as she punched one of the Muslim women in the face and kicked them both in their legs.  

Before the incident, the suspect reportedly posted hate messages on Facebook attacking Muslims and African-Americans. The suspect was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault as a hate crime.

"We urge the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office to prosecute this horrific attack vigorously, sending the message that hate attacks targeting any minority group will not be tolerated," said CAIR-NY Executive Director Afaf Nasher. "We urge mosques and Islamic institutions to increase security measures, particularly this weekend as the nation marks the solemn occasion of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, which some may use as an excuse to attack American Muslims."

CAIR-NY recently welcomed the announcement of charges of murder in the first degree brought against the alleged killer of a Queens imam (religious leader) and his associate. CAIR-NY similarly urged the NYPD and the district attorney to continue the investigation of a possible hate motive in that case.

Earlier today, CAIR called on state and federal law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for an incident at a Laurel. Md., mosque.

CAIR has noted a spike in anti-Muslim discrimination and hate crimes in recent months, which the civil rights groups attributes at least in part to Islamophobic rhetoric used by various public figures.

CAIR: American Muslims to Mark End of Hajj with Prayers, Celebrations

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/9/16) - On Monday, September 12, American Muslims will mark the end of the yearly pilgrimage to Mecca, or Hajj, with communal prayers and celebrations at locations around the country. The prayers and the holiday that follows are called Eid ul-Adha (EED-al-ODD-ha), or "festival of the sacrifice."

Eid ul-Adha, commonly referred to as just "Eid," commemorates the Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael at God's command. The holiday is celebrated with the prayers, small gifts for children, distribution of meat to the needy, and social gatherings. During this holiday, Muslims exchange the greeting "Eid Mubarak" or "blessed Eid." Each year, some two million Muslims, including thousands of American Muslims, go on Hajj.

[NOTE: For actual pilgrims, the rites of Hajj continue for some time after the Eid prayers. Eid al-Fitr, which comes at the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan, is the other of the two "Eid" holidays Muslims celebrate each year.]

WHEN: Monday, September 12 - The prayers are held in the morning. Many communities also hold day-long Eid festivals for families.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Each year, Muslims from America and many different countries come to the prayers in colorful dress. The prayers themselves are quite visual, with worshipers arranged in neat rows and bowing in prayer in unison. Participants exchange embraces at the conclusion of the prayers.

NOTE: Because this is a religious service, reporters and photographers of both sexes should dress modestly. Photographers should arrive early to get into position for the best shots. Photographers are also advised not to step directly in front of worshipers and to seek permission for close-up shots.

Yesterday, CAIR, in partnership with the U.S. Council of Muslim Organization's (USCMO) One America Campaign for the 2016 General Election, called on all American mosques and Islamic centers to help register Muslims to vote and to distribute information about the voting process during the Eid holiday.

HAJJ BACKGROUNDER:

In the Quran, Islam's revealed text, God says:

"Thus We settled Abraham at the site of the House (the Ka'aba) (saying): 'Do not associate anything with Me, and purify My house for those who walk around it, and those who stand there (praying), and those who bow down on their knees in worship. Proclaim the pilgrimage among mankind: they will come to you on foot and on every lean (beast of burden); Let them come from every deep ravine, to bear witness to the advantages they have, and to mention God's name on appointed days." Chapter 22, Verses 26-28

Hajj is one of the "five pillars" of the Islamic faith. (The other pillars include a declaration of faith, daily prayers, offering regular charity, and fasting during the month of Ramadan.) Pilgrimage is a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for those who have the physical and financial ability to undertake the journey.

When the main portion of the pilgrimage is completed, Muslims worldwide gather for communal prayers on the first day (September 12) of Eid ul-Adha (EED-al-ODD-ha), the second of the two major Muslim holidays.

The obligatory and optional activities of Hajj include:

* Entrance into a state of self-control called "ihram," during which pilgrims are forbidden to harm living creatures, even insects or plants, or raise the voice in anger. The state of ihram is signified (for men) by the wearing of two pieces of unsewn white cloth. This clothing signifies the equality of all before God. No specific clothing is prescribed for female pilgrims.

* Circling ("Tawaf") of the "Ka'aba," the stone building Muslims believe was originally built by Abraham and his son Ishmael. The Ka'aba is viewed as the first sanctuary on earth dedicated to the worship of the One God. It is a symbol of unity for Muslims because all prayers, wherever they are performed, are oriented in the direction of the Ka'aba.

* The "Sa'i," or "hastening" between two small hills near the Ka'aba, to commemorate Hagar's search for water to offer her son Ishmael.

* The "Day of Arafah." Arafah is a mountain and its surrounding empty plain near Mecca. On this day, the climax of the Hajj season, pilgrims assemble for supplication to God.

* The stoning of three pillars representing Satan's temptation of Abraham. The stoning indicates the pilgrim's rejection of evil deeds.

* Cutting the hair to symbolize the completion of Hajj.

* Sacrifice of an animal to help feed the poor, and in remembrance of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael at God's command. A portion of the meat is distributed to relatives and to the needy.

Muslim civil rights group calls on members of Congress to reject ACT for America's Islamophobic agenda

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/2/16) � The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is calling on members of Congress to reject the Islamophobic agenda of the anti-Muslim hate group ACT for America, which will hold a "legislative briefing" on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., during its national conference next week.

Featured speakers at the hate group's annual event include Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (U.S. Army, Retired), a top adviser to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Flynn, who spoke at the Republican national convention and was considered as a Trump vice presidential pick, has claimed that Islam is a "cancer" and not a real religion.

In a letter sent to members of Congress and their staff outlining the hate group's history of anti-Muslim bigotry, CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert McCaw wrote in part:

"As a member of the United States Congress, ACT seeks to use your office to provide itself with a legitimizing platform for Islamophobia in our nation's capital and further promote its hateful agenda to discriminate against the American Muslim community.

"Supporting ACT's anti-Muslim policy agenda also threatens the very safety and security of the American Muslim community and those perceived to be Muslim."

ACT for America leader Hanah Kahwagi Tudor, who goes by the pseudonym "Brigitte Gabriel," says an American Muslim "cannot be a loyal citizen" and that Islam is the "real enemy." She once told the Australian Jewish News: "Every practicing Muslim is a radical Muslim." Tudor also claimed that "Islamo-fascism is a politically-correct word. . .it's the vehicle for Islam. . .Islam is the problem."

The New York Times describes her as a "radical Islamophobe" who in the past has made statements like "Arabs have no soul" and "Arabs are barbarians."

When asked whether Americans should "resist Muslims who want to seek political office in this nation," Tudor said, "Absolutely."

According to an expose of the group by the Tennessean newspaper, "ACT members see themselves as warriors in a clash between Western civilization and Islam."

The Southern Poverty law Center (SPLC) has named "Brigitte Gabriel" as a member of the nation's "Anti-Muslim Inner Circle."
