Hundreds of Syrians Killed in US-Regime Air Strikes, Rebel Attacks, in Just One Day, July 8, 2016 

Editor's Note:

The US-led coalition which fights the Islamic State in northeastern Syria consists of US-led NATO forces, Syrian Alewife government forces, Iranian-backed Shi'i militias, and Kurdish peshmerga forces. The coalition's continuous attacks have resulted in the killing of thousands of Iraqi Sunni Muslim Arabs and the eviction of thousands as a result of the destruction of their cities and villages.

Millions of Iraqi Sunni Muslim Arabs have already left their cities and villages as the fighting intensifies towards an all-attack by the US-led coalition on Raqqa and Mosul. The end outcome is going to be evicting (ethnic cleansing of) Sunni Muslim Arabs from the upper Euphrates region of northwestern Iraq and northeastern Syria. 

The following news stories from the official US and Syrian websites do not (or rarely) mention any civilian casualties, despite the facts that air strikes and bombardment target cities, including residential neighborhoods!

162 civilians killed during 40 days of military operations in Menbej city.

SOHR, July 8, 2016

8 civilians from one family including 2 women and 4 children were killed after being targets for IS during attempts to escape the city of Menbej, what rose the number of civilians who were killed in the city to 162 including 49 children and 32 women The dead included 57 civilians ( 19 children and 12 women in addition to 8 prisoners ) were killed by the coalition airstrikes on Menbej, while the others were killed during clashes, bombardment, or landmines in the city since the 31st of May/2016 Menbej is witnessing violent clashes between SDF and IS in an attempt by SDF to advance in the city reaching 1km from city center amid aerial bombardment by the coalition warplanes targeting IS locations.

43 killed by bombardment on Aleppo, the dead included 12 children.

Aleppo province:

Rose to 34 the number of civilians who were killed by bombardment on regime controlled areas of al-Furqan, al-Maharifa, al-Merdia, al-Martini, and the university area, the dead included 6 children and women, no less than 200 others were wounded, the number of the dead is likely to rise.

Rose to 9 including 6 children and 2 women the number of civilians who were killed by aerial bombardment a...nd regime's bombardment on rebels controlled areas of Aleppo. including a child in Qadi Askar, 2 civilians including a child in the Castello road and a man was killed by a missile fired by regime forces in Bustan al-Qaser, a child was killed by regime's bombardment on al-Loz dam area, in addition to a child who was killed regime's bombardment on al-Shaar neighborhood.

Continued clashes between IS and SDF in Menbej

Coalition warplanes bombarded al-Hezwania neighborhood in Menbej city. IS targeted SDF bastions with suicide vehicle on the road of Menbej-Saraqib, no reports of losses. Clashes continued between SDF and IS around al-Hezwania neighborhood amid mutual bombardment from both sides, confirmed reports of losses in IS.

Clashes break out between rebels and regime forces in al-Akrad mount.

Lattakia province:

Clashes continue between regime forces backed by non-Syrian militiamen against rebel and Islamic factions backed by Jabhat al-Nusra around al-Akrad mount in attempt by regime forces to re-gain control on the area, amid aerial bombardment targeting rebels in the mount what devastated vehicle for rebels, confirmed reports of losses. 5 rebels and 3 soldiers were killed in al-Akrad mount.

More human losses after aerial bombardment on Idlib.

Idlib province:

Rose to 3 including an old man with his son in addition to a child, the number of civilians who were killed by aerial bombardment on Kafar Taharim. Regime forces bombarded Jesr al-Shughour. Aerial bombardment targeted Mahambel town in the western countryside, no reports of losses.

Aleppo province:

Regime forces bombarded al-Heidaria leading to the death of a child what rose the number of civilians who were killed by aerial bombardment on rebels controlled area to 7 including 4 children. Clashes continue between regime forces and rebels in al-Mallah farmlands amid advances for the regime in the area, confirmed reports of losses in both sides.

IS clashes with SDF near the mount of Abudaziz in Hasakah.

al-Hasakah province:

Clashes took place between SDF and IS in Sahil area near the mount of Abdulaziz, confirmed reports of losses in both sides. Sources from Dardara and Majibra areas reported to SOHR that al-Asayesh arrested 3 women including a child for being relatives for fighter, the sources accused al-Asayesh in seizing their houses.

Continued clashes in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Der-Ezzor province: A man was killed while others were wounded by IS landmine exploded near al-Furat river around al-Hesan village.

Homs province:

Clashes continue between regime forces and IS around the eastern countryside amid targeting regime's bastions with a suicide car. IS targeted a helicopter in the Badia of Tadmur, no reports if it landed or crashed. Clashes also took place between the two sides around Shaer oil field, reports of losses in both sides.

Bombardment targets several areas of Reef Dimashq.

Reef Dimashq province:

Clashes taking place between regime forces and rebels around Madaa and al-Maidaani areas in the eastern Ghouta. Regime forces bombarded Khan al-Shekh, Hosh al-Fara town and al-Raihan area what led to fire in gas store. A surface to surface missile targeted Daraya city. Regime forces arrested a man at al-Noqta checkpoint and led him to unknown destination, activists reported.

10 rebels killed in Quneitra countryside.

al-Quneitra province: Regime forces targeted a vehicle for Islamic factions on Bait Jin road near the Quneitra northern countryside leading to the death of 10 rebels and devastated a car.

bombardment kills 31 civilians in Aleppo city.

Aleppo province:

Rose to 25 the number of civilians who were killed by bombardment targeted regime controlled areas of Martini, the Meridian, al-Furqan, and al-Jamiaa, while no less than 120 others were wounded, the dead included 6 children and women.

Rose to 6 including 3 children and a woman the number of civilians who were killed by aerial bombardment and regime's bombardment on rebels controlled areas of Aleppo. including a child in Qadi Askar, 2 civilians including a child in the Castello road and a man was killed by a missile fired by regime forces in Bustan al-Qaser, in addition to a child who was killed regime's bombardment on al-Shaar neighborhood.

ISIS fighter killed in the coalition’s bombing

Deir Ezzor Province:

A member from the “Islamic State” died affected by injuries he had when the international coalition bombed areas near the border with Iraq on areas at the administrative border between the eastern desert of Homs and Deir Ezzor countryside.

Violent intensive and continuous shelling on the northern outskirts of Aleppo city and its countryside

Aleppo Province:

The regime forces shelled areas in the town Huraytan in the northern countryside of Aleppo, no information about casualties, while violent clashes are taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic Factions in al -Mallah farms north of Aleppo, amid bombardment by Russian helicopters on the clashing areas.

Heavy shelling by the regime forces on areas in al-Mallah and al-Castelo road north of Aleppo, while the regime forces shelled intensively the areas in the road connecting between the towns of Ma’aarat la-Artiq and Kafr Hamra in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo, helicopters also targeted areas using barrel bombs over Khalsa town in the southern countryside of Aleppo, no information about injuries.

The regime forces advance in the area of Jabal al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Latakia

Latakia Province:

Violent clashes are taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic Factions in the vicinity of Shalaf village and Toubal Castle and several other areas in Jabal al-Turkman, amid advancement for the regime forces and confirmed information about their control over Toubal Castle, accompanied more raids by warplanes on the clashing areas and shelling by the regime forces the same areas, and confirmed reports about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

Violent clashes continue in the eastern countryside of Homs

Homs Province:

Clashes took place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” in the areas of the fields of Ark and Shaer and the area of Hwisis in the eastern countryside of Homs, and information about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

The regime forces advance and control the road of Midaa–Al-Bahariyah and farms in the same area in the Eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq Province:

The regime forces shelled areas in the farms around Midaa town in the Eastern Ghouta, no information about injuries, where the regime forces managed this morning to control the farms between the towns of Midaa and Al-Bahariyah in the Eastern Ghouta besides the road linking both towns, after violent clashes against Islamic factions, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

Attack by Booby trapped vehicles on SDF positions in Awn al-Dadat area

Clashes took place between The Syria Democratic Forces against the "Islamic state" in the vicinity of Awn al-Dadat village in the countryside of Manbij city, accompanied by hearing the sound of explosions in the area caused by the organization's detonating for three booby trapped vehicles, while SOHR received confirmed information from local sources that the “Islamic State” organization kidnapped 13 members from one family, in addition to three citizen women from al-Sekkary village in the countryside Manbij city, to be used as human shields in the fighting fronts.

A family was injured when a landmine exploded during their escape from al-Hazwanah neighborhood in Manbij city towards areas controlled by The Syria Democratic Forces in the countryside of the city, also an old lady (about 80-year-old) from the city of Manbij was killed by a sniper fire near al-Battah roundabout this morning.

More casualties in the massacre carried out by the warplanes in Darkush town in the countryside of Idlib

Idlib Province:

It rose to 23, including 10 females (and two of them are female children and one of them is an Afghani woman) the number of people who were killed when warplanes bombed areas near the Syrian - Turkish border; the town of Darkush, the massacre took place at the third day of the Eid, where tens of people come from villages in the countryside of Idlib for the summer time and the tourism in the area, while the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, also warplanes renewed the bombing on areas in the town of Kafr Takharim in the northwestern countryside of Idlib, and confirmed information about casualties and injuries.

Aerial bombardment on the barren mountains of Rnkous and rocket strikes target Darayya and clashes in Midaa

Rif Dimashq Province: Warplanes bombed areas in in Sabna in the barren mountains of Rnkous in the western Qalamoun, which witnessed yesterday clashes between the regime forces, Hezbollah and the gunmen loyal to them against Jabhat Al-Nusra (al-Qaeda in Levant) and the rebel and Islamic factions in Tal al-Safa, where the factions managed to capture members from the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them and killed and injured other members.

The clashes accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces on the same areas, also a man from the city of Zabadani died affected by injuries he had when the warplanes bombed areas in the city of Idlib earlier, also several rockets believed to be ground-to-ground launched by the regime forces and landed on places in the town of Darayya in the Western Ghouta, no information about casualties, while violent clashes continue between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the Islamic factions in the vicinity of Midaa town in the Eastern Ghouta.

The regime forces shell areas in the city of Daraa

Daraa Province:

Clashes took place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic Factions in the vicinity of Manshiya neighborhood in Daraa city, and information about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

The regime forces and warplanes shell areas in Hama and cause displacement of tens of families

Hama Province:

Warplanes and helicopters shelled areas in the villages of al-Shatib, Arafa and Qasr in the eastern countryside of Hama, accompanied by shelling by the regime forces on the same areas, amid a displacement movement for tens of families from the area.

Shells target Shekh Maqsoud neighborhood and continued clashes in the northern countryside of Aleppo;

Aleppo province:

Rebels targeted with snipers Shekh Maqsoud neighborhood which is inhabited by Kurds and controlled by YPG, leading to the injury of 2 civilians. Regime forces bombarded Bani Zaid and al-Layramon neighborhoods. Explosive barrels were dropped on Khelsa town. Clashes renewed between regime forces and Islamic factions in the northern countryside amid bombardment by regime forces on the area. A child was killed while others were wounded by regime's bombardment on al-Castello road. Reports that regime forces arrested militiamen who are allied to regime forces on Khenaser road in the charge of kindnapping people for money from Khanaser-Salamia road.

Aerial bombardment kills 22 civilians in Idlib countryside.

Idlib province: Rose to 23 the number of civilians who were killed by aerial bombardment on Dakoush town near the Turkish borders, the dead included 9 women, a child, and and Afghani woman.

U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Iraq and Syria yesterday, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

Strikes in Syria

Attack, bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 13 strikes in Syria near Manbij that struck eight separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed 21 ISIL fighting positions and an ISIL tactical vehicle.

In a separate action, fighter aircraft conducted a strike in Syria near Raqqah, where a strike struck inoperable coalition equipment, denying ISIL access to it.

Due to an administrative error, two strikes were not reported and an additional strike was misreported near Ayn Isa in Syria on the combined joint task force’s release yesterday, officials said. The release should have read that near Manbij, two strikes struck two separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions and an ISIL vehicle.

WASHINGTON, July 01, 2016 —

Coalition forces conducted an airstrike that killed two Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant senior military commanders June 25 near Mosul, Iraq, Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said today.

In a statement, Cook said the precision strike killed Basim Muhammad Ahmad Sultan al-Bajari, ISIL's deputy minister of war, and Hatim Talib al-Hamduni, an ISIL military commander in Mosul.
