Iraqi Sunni Muslim Arabs Starving to Death, Particularly in Fallouja, Due to US-Iraqi Air Strikes and Attacks by Government Forces and Militiamen February 11, 2016
Editor's Note: The first two official reports of air strikes on Iraqi Sunni Arab cities did not refer to civilians casualties, some of which are reported in the third source (Iraqi Spring). *** Military Strikes Target ISIL in Syria, Iraq From a Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve News Release SOUTHWEST ASIA, February 10, 2016 — U.S. and coalition military forces have continued to attack Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Syria and Iraq, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today. Officials reported details of the latest strikes, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports. Strikes in Syria Fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted two strikes in Syria: -- Near Mar’a, a strike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions. -- Near Raqqah, a strike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle. Strikes in Iraq Attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft and rocket artillery conducted 18 strikes in Iraq, coordinated with and in support of Iraq’s government: -- Near Baghdadi, a strike destroyed an ISIL supply cache. -- Near Huwayjah, two strikes struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle bomb and two ISIL vehicles. -- Near Habbaniyah, a strike struck a large ISIL tactical unit. -- Near Haditha, a strike destroyed an ISIL vehicle. -- Near Kirkuk, a strike destroyed an ISIL vehicle. -- Near Mosul, five strikes struck three separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed 15 ISIL fighting positions, an ISIL vehicle and an ISIL checkpoint. -- Near Ramadi, four strikes struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions, an ISIL heavy machine gun position, an ISIL vehicle bomb facility and cratered an ISIL-used road. -- Near Sinjar, three strikes destroyed three ISIL fighting positions and suppressed two separate ISIL mortar positions. *** 9 ISIS fighters killed, wounded in aerial bombardment in Bashir village Iraq News (Government) By Abdelhak Mamoun - Feb 10, 2016 (IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk Province announced on Wednesday, that nine members of ISIS were either killed or wounded in an aerial bombing targeted their headquarters in Bashir village southwest of Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad). The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today, unidentified warplane shelled ISIS headquarters in Bashir village (30 km south west of Kirkuk), killing three ISIS fighters and injuring six others.” The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The air strike also destroyed a number of vehicles belonging to ISIS.” Noteworthy, Bashir village in Taza area (30 km south west of Kirkuk) is under the control of ISIS since June 2014, including more than 1150 houses and 2500 Turkman families. 7 people wounded including 3 police elements in bomb blast in southern Kirkuk By Loaa Adel - Feb 10, 2016 (IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The Police Chief in Kirkuk Province Sarhad Kader revealed on Wednesday, that seven people including four police elements were wounded in the explosion of a car bomb in southern Kirkuk. Kader said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “A car bomb exploded near a patrol of the emergency police while passing in Huzairan area in southern Kirkuk.” Kader added, “The explosion resulted in the injury of four police elements, in addition to three civilians.” 20 ISIS fighters killed in coalition bombardment in central Mosul By Abdelhak Mamoun - Feb 10, 2016 (IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – An informed source announced on Wednesday, that 20 members of ISIS were killed in an aerial bombardment targeted their headquarters in central Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad). The source said in a brief statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The international coalition aviation bombarded, before noon today, headquarters belonging to ISIS near Salam Hospital in al-Wahda neighbourhood in central Mosul, killing 20 ISIS fighters.” The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added, “The bombardment also destroyed five vehicles belonging to the ISIS.” Volunteer forces kill 14 ISIS elements, foil attack southeast of Thurthar By Amre Sarhan - Feb 10, 2016 (IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – Saraya al-Jihad militia belonging to the paramilitary al-Hashed al-Sha’bi force announced on Tuesday the killing of 14 ISIS elements as well as the seizure of an armored vehicle during clashes with ISIS southeast Thurthar. The militia said in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, that it had “repelled an attack by ISIS in the vicinity southeast of Thurthar during their attempt to approach the first defensive line,” adding that, The Saraya managed to kill 14 and seize a booby-trapped armored vehicle. =========================================================== Iraqi Spring News Bulletin February 9, 2016 http://iraqispring.com/?article=1548 Baghdad: 33 people were killed or injured in four explosions in Ni'iriya, Al-Ameen, Al-Taji, and Bakriya. One pro-government, Sahwa, fighter was killed, and five were injured, in an attack on a checkpoint in Hoar Rajab, Doara, south of Baghdad. Five corpses of unknown persons were found in Al-Za'afaraniya and Mada-in areas, which are controlled by the government Hashd militias. Al-Anbar: Scores of militiamen and government troops were killed or injured in attacks, which also resulted in destroying their vehicles, north of Ramadi, and east and west of Fallouja. Iraqi government forces bombarded residential neighborhoods in Saqlawiya, northwest of Fallouja, killing and injuring 8 people, most of whom were women and children. Diyala: The pro-government Hashd militiamen killed the Iraqi youngman, Abdul Rahman Shahab Al-Qura Ghouli, in front of his mother, inside their garden, in Abi Sayda area, in Al-Muqdadiya. Two pro-government Hashd militiamen were injured in a bombing attack on their patrol, in Al-Zoar area, northeast of Ba'aqouba.
