Abu Marzouk: Dhaif’s wife and daughter killed in Israeli airstrike

[ 20/08/2014 - 09:35 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Member of Hamas's political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk declared that the wife and youngest son of Mohamed Dhaif, the general commander of the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas, were killed in the Israeli airstrike that targeted Dalou family's home late Tuesday evening.

In an unexpected step Israel claimed the firing of three rockets from Gaza, declaring the end of negotiations and truce amid common state of confusion, Abu Marzouk wrote on his Facebook page.

There were no rockets launched from Gaza, but Israel created flimsy pretexts “to assassinate a senior leader in Hamas,” he added.

“However, only civilians were killed at the site of the attack, serving a big blow to Israeli intelligence.”

For its part, Yediot Ahranot Hebrew newspaper ran a prominent headline saying: "Mohamed Dhaif was the target".

Three citizens including a woman and a child were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting Dalou's home in Gaza city in a new violation of the 24-hour truce mediated Monday by Cairo.

Palestinian medical sources affirmed that Dhaif’s wife Widad Mustafa Deir, 26, was killed along with her seven-month-old infant in the Israeli raid while 60 other people were wounded.

Earlier Tuesday, Qassam Brigades declared that Israel had “opened the gates of hell by breaching the truce and bombing Dalou family’s home”.

The Brigades declared its responsibility of bombing different Israeli targets in response to Israeli violation of the truce, committing a new massacre by targeting Dalou family’s home, according to the statement.

The Brigades warned that “Israel will pay a heavy price”.

The armed wing of Hamas challenged Israel to declare the real reason behind targeting Dalou’s home.

The Brigades declared responsibility for bombing Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem, Ben-Gurion airport, Kiryat Malachi, Netivot, Beersheba, Majdel, and Sderot.

Palestinian medical sources confirmed that three persons were killed while 34 others were injured including five in very critical condition after Israeli warplanes targeted Dalou’s home in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City.

A huge explosion was heard during the attack, where the three-story house was totally destroyed while significant damages were caused to the neighboring homes, local sources said. Five buses were also destroyed during the airstrike.

Israeli jet fighters also targeted an ambulance southern Gaza City and a group of people northern the Strip. Several injuries were reported during the two attacks.

Israeli launched on July 7 a barbaric aggression against the besieged Strip of Gaza. 2020 people were killed and thousands were injured while hundreds of homes were destroyed so far.

[ 20/08/2014 - 07:39 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

A round of indirect Egyptian-brokered ceasefire talks between the Palestinian negotiating team and an Israeli delegation, expiring Tuesday, had collapsed as Israel resumed its aerial attacks against Gaza civilians, member of Hamas political bureau, Ezzet al-Resheq said.

Resheq, member of the Palestinian delegation in Cairo, said in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday evening “ceasefire prospects are likely to fade away.”

Resheq held the Israeli occupation responsible for the cul-de-sac to which the negotiations have come.

Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said Tuesday evening Netanyahu has deliberately opted for knocking over the Cairo truce talks and step up pressure.

“He should bear the repercussions of his own stupidity. The Palestinian resistance is determined to defend Gaza,” Barhoum added.

“As Netanyahu chose to rather overturn the Cairo talks, Hamas is seeking different options in light of the current circumstances and de-facto developments,” he added.

Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said the Palestinian delegation has informed the Egyptian mediator about its final position regarding the ceasefire, adding Hamas is ready for all possible scenarios.
