Israeli Soldiers Raid Palestinian Jerusalemite Neighborhood of Silwan, Using Choppers Israeli Soldiers Raid Silwan Using Choppers in Search of Missing Box of Teargas Grenades [ 10/01/2011 - 10:36 AM ] OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- An Israeli press report claimed Sunday that masked Palestinian youths got hold of a box of toxic tear gas after raiding a Border Guards site in the Palestinian Jerusalemite neighborhood of Silwan. Clashes broke out earlier in the predominantly Arab Jerusalem neighborhood after Israeli occupation forces raided a home there and attacked an elderly woman inside, the Israeli paper Haaretz reported. Silwan youths proceeded to attack an Israeli military site with stones, forcing the soldiers there to escape. Israeli police later launched a helicopter-backed attack on Silwan when they discovered a box of toxic gas grenades was missing from the scene. Witnesses said soldiers raided homes by force, physically assaulted residents, caused material damage, and arrested nine Palestinians from Silwan. Meanwhile, four Palestinians were arrested Monday in an operation targeting the West Bank province of Al-Khalil, locals reported. Israeli forces arrested four wanted men in the West Bank this morning and transferred them to investigation centers, Israeli Radio said. Israeli soldiers also raided Monday morning the home of Hamas leader Yahya Zuyood Abu Rabee in the town Al-Saila Al-Harithiyya, west of Jenin city, local sources said.
