Picture: WAM President His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan yesterday received at Al Bahr Palace Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Zayed held a meeting with President Mubarak in the presence of Sheikh Khalifa, during which the leaders reviewed current developments on the Arab and international scenes, including the situations in Iraq and Palestine.
They also discussed efforts being made to restore security and stability in Iraq and ways to boost peace efforts in the Middle East, as well as fraternal ties and bilateral bonds of cooperation.
Later, Sheikh Khalifa also held talks with the Egyptian leader over latest regional and global events. They exchanged views on the situation in Iraq and Palestine, underscoring their support for efforts to maintain peace, security and stability in the region.
Sheikh Khalifa also hosted a luncheon in honour of President Mubarak and his delegation. Top civilian and military officials from both sides attended.
Earlier, President Mubarak and his delegation were received at the airport by Sheikh Khalifa, accompanied by several other sheikhs and officials.
