15 injured in bomb attack on telegraph office in Kashmir

Khaleej Times, (DPA)

28 October 2003

SRINAGAR - At least 15 people were injured when suspected militants launched a grenade attack on the central telegraph office in Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar on Tuesday.

Officials said most of the injured were telegraph workers.

Troopers of the Border Security Force (BSF) guarding the office said the office itself was the target and not them. Normally the militants target security forces guarding installations.

None of the Muslim secessionist groups operating in the valley has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and searches were on for the attackers.
